Overview
At YogaUnion, we have created a specialized course in Yin yoga. Spend 50 hours learning about this holistic and restorative practice and become certified by Yoga Alliance. We will guide you through the philosophy of Yin yoga, emphasizing the importance of using poses to embark on a healing journey within yourself.
What you will focus on:
- Learn to practice and teach Yin yoga classes with clarity and precision
- Understand the meaning of Yin and Yang and how they work together for balance
- Cultivate mindfulness and self-awareness through Yin practice
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of Yin poses, alignment, and sequencing for your own lessons
- Explore foundational anatomy and physiology as it applies to yoga asana
- Embark on a journey through the history and philosophy of Yin yoga
- Discover the physiological effects of Yin on the body and mind, honoring your individuality
What to expect
- Start each day with morning pranayama, breathing techniques, and meditation. We will focus on mudras and pranayama specific to Yin yoga
- Learn about anatomy, including nadis, chakras, koshas, bones, fascia, and connective tissue
- Explore Qi energy and the 12 Meridians
- Engage in meditation, visualization, and relaxation practices
- Participate in daily Yin yoga sessions focused on different elements
- Analyze and discuss Yin yoga poses, alignment, modifications, and create your own sequences
- Attend specialized workshops covering philosophy and anatomy of Yin yoga
- Experience various types of yoga classes, such as Vinyasa, Hatha, and yoga Nidra
Sample schedule
- 07:00 – 08:00: Start the day with meditation and pranayama
- 08:00 – 09:00: Engage in a Gentle Flow yoga class
- 09:00 – 10:00: Dive into Yin anatomy
- 10:00 – 10:30: Enjoy breakfast
- 10:30 – 12:00: Participate in the practical part of the course
- 12:00 – 13:00: Take a lunch break
- 13:00: Focus on Yin asanas
- 16:30: Join a Yin yoga class
- 19:00: Have dinner
Note
Please note that the course will start on Tuesday after Monday, which is an arrival day. The course will end on Saturday, and departure will be on Sunday.
Upon completion of YogaUnion’s 50h Yin Yoga Teacher Training, you can accredit your Continuing Education Hours with Yoga Alliance. Retreat location
This yoga training happens in Ubud, Bali.
Food
This course offers a vegetarian breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets from Mondays to Saturdays. Sundays are the only day that is excluded because it is considered a “day off”.
For breakfast, you will be treated to a variety of delicious options. This includes a tropical fruit salad, a daily choice of porridge, black rice pudding, or Balinese crepes. Alongside these tasty dishes, you will also be served toast, eggs, coffee, tea, and juice.
The lunch and dinner buffet is filled with a wide variety of local dishes. You can expect flavorful vegetable stews, curries, legumes, grains, and a selection of salads. All of the food is homemade and made with fresh, local, and mostly organic ingredients.
On Sundays, you have the freedom to explore the many restaurants and healthy food places in Ubud or around the rice fields. This gives you the opportunity to discover new and exciting dining experiences.
If you have special dietary requirements, such as a vegan or gluten-free diet, accommodations can be made. It’s a good idea to communicate your needs before making a reservation.

If you’re looking for interesting activities, Sundays are completely free and you can take day trips into the stunning tropical nature of Bali. It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the Balinese way of life. Bali is an amazing island located just south of the equator, one of the 17,000 islands of Indonesia. It boasts lush tropical vegetation, majestic volcano mountains, and countless beaches with big waves and vibrant coral reefs. You can try your hand at surfing in Bali’s famous waves or enjoy activities like stand-up paddling, snorkeling, diving, or simply relaxing under the sun. The nearby mountains offer breathtaking views during sunrise volcano tours, hikes to paradise waterfalls, and thrilling downhill biking. You can also visit tropical jungle farms that produce cacao, vanilla, coffee, mangoes, and other tropical fruits. If you’re in Ubud, don’t miss out on the artistic wood carving and stonework, picturesque temples, art and fashion galleries, colorful markets, and exclusive health food dining. There are also stylish spa resorts with tropical swimming pools where you can unwind. And of course, the downtown monkey forest is always a favorite, with its giant trees, temples, and playful monkeys.
In Bali, you’ll also have the opportunity to experience the best massage of your life. Just ask the YogaUnion team to organize it for you. On Sundays, you can explore the magic of Bali by visiting the Taman Ayun royal temple, the Ulun Danu Beratan lake and temple, a coffee plantation, the Angseri natural hot spring, and the Jatilewih, which is the biggest rice terrace in Bali.
What's included
You will receive 6 nights of accommodation, 3 meals a day, tuition fees, and course material. The course/hours will count as Continuing Education hours only for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
What's not included
We need to arrange transportation. Also, let’s book airfare tickets, get a visa, and make sure to secure travel insurance.
