Program
The training program allows students to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®) once completed.
Prenatal yoga is designed specifically for pregnant women to support their physical and emotional well-being throughout their pregnancy. It involves modified yoga poses, breathing techniques, and meditation practices that are safe and suitable for pregnant women. The benefits of prenatal yoga include improved flexibility, strength, balance, and reduced stress and anxiety. It can also help prepare women for childbirth by teaching them breathing and relaxation techniques.
To be eligible for the program, participants should have a basic understanding of yoga and at least 6 months of consistent yoga practice, with experience or interest in prenatal yoga teaching. There are no specific academic requirements, but candidates should have completed high school or an equivalent qualification. Proficiency in English is necessary as the course materials and instruction will be in English. Good physical health is also important due to the practical training and physical activity involved.
It’s important to note that the prenatal yoga teacher training is intensive and requires full commitment and dedication. Participants should be prepared to invest the necessary time and effort to successfully complete the course.
During the training, participants will learn about the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, breathing and meditation techniques for pregnancy and childbirth, self-care during pregnancy, asana practice, Ayurveda and nutrition, and precautions to be taken during pregnancy. The course consists of 85 hours, with 45 hours of in-person training and 40 hours of online course videos.
A daily schedule is provided, including prenatal asana, anatomy, pranayama, breakfast, yoga therapy, yoga alignment, lunch, philosophy, yoga nidra, healing, asana practice, meditation, dinner, and lights off. Attendance in all classes is mandatory, unless there is an emergency or illness with permission from the teachers. Uninformed leaves will affect student performance.
By fully immersing themselves in the program and following the schedule, participants will have the opportunity to learn and grow, gaining a new perspective on the world.
