Overview
For over a decade, YogaUnion has been delivering yoga teacher training courses (YTTC’s) based on AshtangaVinyasa Flow. This internationally accredited program with Yoga Alliance has enchanted the founders, Ourania and Spyros, since they held their first training in Bali. They loved it so much that they decided to make Bali their new home. Now located in Ubud, the cultural and yogic capital of Bali, YogaUnion offers a unique and authentic 200hr Vinyasa TTC for those who want to become yoga teachers or deepen their practice. The YogaUnion Shala is nestled in the ricefields, providing a magical backdrop for this transformative experience. Ourania and Spyros, drawing from their extensive experience around the world, have carefully designed the course to challenge and develop individuals at all levels.
How the training looks like
Let’s talk about what a typical day looks like during the training. We start our days with pranayama, meditation, and chanting to create balance and set the tone. You’ll learn advanced breathing techniques and explore different meditation methods and mantra chanting. In our philosophy classes, we delve into the epic Baghavagitta. Through open-minded and constructive discussions, we explore how traditional yogic ethics and lifestyle can be applied to our modern lives. In the afternoons, we dive deeper into the practice of Yin and explore other styles of yoga like Tantra, restorative, and prenatal. We also have regular workshops with specific themes. This 300-hour yoga teacher training program covers a range of educational categories and topics.
Practice techniques
- This is an intense, 5-week advanced 300hr training that requires a 200hr certification.
- Building on your previous training, we focus on the practice of Ashtanga Primary Series, as well as Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga postures. You’ll analyze, perform, adjust, and teach these poses to create creative and well-structured flows.
- Anatomy lessons complement the asana classes by helping you understand movement patterns, their practical application, and how each pose impacts the joints, bones, and muscles. We also explore the nervous system and the mind-body connection.
During the training, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Practice every day at our beautiful YogaUnion Shala, located in the rice fields overlooking the jungle. Accommodations are provided in nearby guesthouses, surrounded by rice fields and the local community.
- Each morning, we begin with pranayama, meditation, mantra chanting, followed by Vinyasa and Ashtanga flow classes.
- Early afternoons are dedicated to deepening your understanding of asanas, alignment, adjustments, and teaching methodology. You’ll also study Yoga Philosophy or Anatomy on alternating days.
- In the afternoon, we explore restorative styles of yoga like Yin, Hatha, and Nidra. We also introduce you to other styles like Tantra and prenatal, and offer specialized workshops.
- Later in the afternoon, you have time to practice what you’ve learned, work on your final lessons, and study together while witnessing the beautiful sunset behind the rice fields.
- We provide healthy and nutritious meals at our YogaUnion restaurant, using local and organic fruits and vegetables. You’ll have one day off per week to relax, explore the surroundings, or go on excursions to experience Bali.
- Our ultimate goal is self-realization, happiness, and creating an unforgettable experience that you’ll cherish for the rest of your life. So, don’t forget to have fun along the way!
