It’s a calling of wisdom, love, and compassion that awaits those who are ready to embrace it.
Program
You have the option to spend your entire life practicing yoga for yourself, or you can share your passion for the practice with others. Sharing yoga with the world is an act of love. This training gives you the chance to deeply understand the practice, from its ancient philosophy and history to the alignment of your own body in poses, and the spiritual depths reached through meditation. Whether you’re looking for a career change or a chance to connect with yourself, this experience will have a lasting impact.
Let’s talk about what you’ll receive for the course. Before it begins, you’ll get a digital copy of the course manual. If you prefer, you can also order a physical copy free of charge. They’ll let you know about any mandatory pre-reading and additional books to continue your yoga education. They’ll provide all the necessary yoga mats, bolsters, and blocks, but you can bring your own if you prefer. They’ll also supply any special materials you may need, like japa mala beads. You’ll receive Balinese ceremonial clothing for sacred events and a Yogatrotter bag to carry your notebooks.
Now let’s discuss the teachings you’ll receive. The yoga practiced in this training closely follows the foundational principles of yoga’s 8 limbs and the Hatha/Vinyasa tradition of Sri T Krishnamacharya. It goes beyond just the physical poses and focuses on quieting the mind’s fluctuations to find inner peace. Expert instructors and Indonesian spiritual teachers will guide you through the course, providing a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of yoga. They believe in hands-on learning experiences to help you absorb information effectively.
If you’re interested in becoming a yoga teacher, this training will teach you more than just asana. You’ll gain a deep understanding of all 8 limbs of yoga. You’ll learn how to create safe and inspiring classes, delve into yoga philosophy and spirituality, and explore meditation. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with Balinese Hindu culture.
Anatomy is an important aspect of practicing yoga. This course will help you listen and understand your body on a deeper level, and teach your students to do the same. The anatomy modules are designed to be easily understood, regardless of your background. You’ll learn how to modify poses for specific conditions and injuries. Your lead teacher, Megan, has studied yoga therapy with top experts in India and learned anatomy from renowned teachers. You’ll start with the basics and progress to more advanced poses.
Teaching yoga to different students requires adaptability. This training will teach you how to share your love for yoga in a safe and effective way, whether your students are beginners or advanced practitioners. You’ll learn various styles of yoga and effective cuing and word choice. You’ll also explore the business and ethics of being a yoga teacher. With small class sizes, you’ll have plenty of practice teaching and gain the confidence to start teaching immediately.
Meditation is a central practice in yoga. This training will focus on building a lasting meditation practice. One day of the training will be spent in total silence for a silent meditation retreat. Each evening, you’ll learn different meditation techniques and have the opportunity to experience them for yourself. You’ll also learn Vedic mantras and participate in sacred ceremonies with Balinese priestesses. The training will cover chakras, prana movements, and Ayurveda.
To understand the roots of yoga, you’ll explore its history, philosophy, and spirituality. The training will cover the samkhya philosophy, ancient Hindu texts, tantric sages, Sri T Krishnamacharya, and the current practice of yoga. Your lead instructor, Megan, specializes in Hindu mythology related to asana. You’ll learn the origins of poses and experience Balinese ceremonies.
