This yoga retreat wasn’t what I expected. I stayed in a room at a yoga school where I could attend classes with the 300h TTC group. It made everyone – the students, teachers, and myself – uncomfortable. The 4 of us signed up for the retreat without any check-in, introductions, schedule, or dedicated teachers. Instead, we were expected to join classes where others were training to become teachers. I’m already a teacher and was hoping to attend intermediate or advanced classes, or at least tailored sessions for our group. Despite the great traditional yoga school, nice facilities, and good management, the lack of proper advertising for the “retreat” was disappointing.

Unfortunately, the “retreat” turned out to be a Yoga school where we could join the classes. I felt lost at times and wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. I can’t say anything about the school itself – the students seemed happy and the teachers were good, they just weren’t prepared for our arrival. I wish there had been a separate yoga teacher for retreat guests so we could fully enjoy the classes without disturbing the regular students. The accommodation was good with friendly staff.

I didn’t have any specific dislikes, but the other attendees were really surprised to see me there. I was the only one doing a yoga retreat, while everyone else was doing yoga teacher training. Despite that, I had a great time because I approached everything with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. The staff at Bali Yoga School really impressed me with their politeness and helpfulness. They made me feel incredibly welcome. I’m not even vegan, but I adored the food they served at every meal. The fruits were incredibly sweet and the other dishes were bursting with flavor and had fun, catchy names.

I didn’t go on a retreat. I spent five days alone before joining a group of ten people who were doing 200 hours of yoga in one month. They had been doing yoga every day for two weeks and were aiming to become teachers, so their level was different from mine. It wasn’t a relaxing experience. The purpose of the 200 hours was to quickly learn and earn the degree, rather than to simply enjoy the practice of yoga as I had expected. Maybe you should let people who want to do the retreat know that they’ll be joining this type of group. The place was really great, with amazing staff and nice rooms.

The accommodation wasn’t great and it was expensive for what we got. It was loud and cramped with not enough space to relax and have some privacy. The food was good, but it was always the same. The teachers were excellent and the people there were nice, helpful, and kind. Despite some issues, everything went well overall.

The instructors at this place are very nice and have a positive approach. I learned a lot in just two weeks. The classes flowed smoothly and we had nice long breaks between lunch and the next class to rest or relax. I highly recommend this place and the people working there. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place. If I’m ever in Bali again, I will definitely come back for another class. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Sometimes, I would get hungry after finishing my meal portion, but I would just prepare some instant food instead, so it was all good. 🙂 I absolutely love this school, it’s just amazing. I’d rate it 9.5/10 overall.

Let me tell you why this school is just so great. First of all, the accommodation is really nice – it’s clean and cozy, and on top of that, there’s a swimming pool surrounded by trees. It’s just perfect for relaxing and taking a nice dip.

And you know what else? The people here are so friendly! You won’t find a single person who isn’t willing to help or strike up a conversation. It’s such a welcoming environment.

Oh, and let me not forget about the air. It’s so fresh here, I can’t even describe it. It’s like getting a breath of fresh air every single day. It’s definitely something that makes this place even more special.

Now, let’s talk about the teachers. They are seriously cool. Not only are they knowledgeable and supportive, but they’re also super helpful. They want to see everyone succeed and go above and beyond to make sure we understand everything. It’s a dream come true, really.

And last but definitely not least, there’s yoga all day long. Can you believe it? You can just roll out your mat and enjoy a day filled with yoga. It’s such a fantastic way to relax and take care of your body and mind.

So, as you can see, this school has it all – amazing accommodation, friendly people, fresh air, awesome teachers, and yoga all day long. It’s pretty much a slice of heaven.

The 300hr Yoga Teacher training with Himalayan Yoga Ashram surpassed all my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone considering it. The course provided a wealth of valuable information, covering everything from the physical yoga practices to anatomy, philosophy, meditation, breathing techniques, Mudra practice, and Ayurveda.

What impressed me the most was the comprehensive and in-depth approach taken by the teachers. They went above and beyond to ensure that we not only learned the material but also understood it from a traditional standpoint. The anatomy classes, in particular, were exceptional. Instead of just memorizing facts, they taught us the mechanics of the body in a way that was relatable and easy to grasp.

The feedback on our assignments was incredibly constructive and motivating. It encouraged us to reflect on our progress and development as students.

Upon completing the course, I found that my love and appreciation for yoga had deepened even further. Not only did it prepare me for teaching in a classroom setting, but it also gave me the confidence to continue learning and growing on my yoga journey.

Thank you so much for this incredible experience! I participated in the 300hr Online Yogateacher Training in November, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The Yoga Theorie live classes were so clear and organized. The information was spot on, and I loved immersing myself in yoga for the entire month. I was pleasantly surprised by how connected I felt to the other students. It truly felt like a small community, which I didn’t expect from an online training. It was such a pleasant surprise. The practical live classes were also amazing, and I’m thrilled to have delved into Ashstanga Yoga. The small groups in this online yoga teacher training made it feel more intimate and less anonymous. I felt comfortable asking all my questions during the live classes. Thank you all so much, Bali Yoga School and HYA. Namaste.

My experience with the teachers was amazing. I learned a lot from Shanti ji, Ida ji, and Niki ji. I’m so grateful to have met these beautiful souls in my life. Dewa ji made me feel at home. I’m not a vegetarian, so I felt a lack of protein in the meals. It wasn’t enough for the physical effort required, and as a result, I personally lost a lot of weight, which is not positive for me.

The rooms should be cleaned better, especially the areas with insects.

I would have loved to stay longer, but I will definitely come back. ??

The place is gorgeous, the schedule is perfect, and the food is beautiful and delicious.

The teachers are simply incredible. They made me feel comfortable right away, and despite their young ages, they clearly master their work, whether it’s in theory or practice. Neelam Ji, funny and passionate. Durgesh Ji, calm and soothing. Rahul Ji, very professional and patient. And lastly, my favorite teacher, Ankit Ji, fun and challenging, a breath of fresh air in the classroom. Thank you to all four of you for your kindness, patience, and the passion you put into your work. I won’t hesitate to have the same experience with the same teachers again. ❤️?

I read some reviews beforehand about the program, and they talked about how the program had drastically changed its food and syllabus. I did the program in January and I can tell you that they have indeed changed the location and food. However, nothing was quite what I expected. The food they provided was loaded with carbs and didn’t seem all that nutritious. I have celiac disease and they assured me that accommodating for my dietary needs wouldn’t be a problem. Sadly, they had no real understanding of what “gluten-free” truly meant, so I ended up getting sick quite frequently.

Additionally, there was this clear disconnect between the goals of the students and the goals of the teachers. It just didn’t align well. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this training program to anyone looking to complete their 300 hours. On a positive note, I did enjoy the fact that I got to spend a good amount of time doing yoga.

The school was a mess, completely disorganized and unprofessional. The level of teaching was nowhere near what you would expect from a 200 hour qualification. They kept changing tutors five times throughout the course, and these tutors were young and inexperienced when it came to teaching teachers. On top of that, they would always show up late, causing the students to be late as well. The management of this school is just plain unprofessional! They didn’t even bother to have an exam on how to actually teach yoga. The so-called yoga classes were just that – yoga classes, not lessons on how to deliver a class as a teacher.

The food at this school was beyond terrible. Some students even missed quite a few classes and still managed to get a certificate at the end of the course! They claim to include excursions in your package, but they’re not where they’re advertised on the website, and you have to pay for them separately. It’s clear that this school is all about making money and not about educating or ensuring a high standard of teaching.

The owner, let me tell you, is absolutely useless and impossible to approach. They spent way too much time with one particular student, which makes you question their credibility as a yoga teacher or even as a professional manager of a yoga school. On a positive note, Ubud is a lovely place to visit. Despite all the problems, Durgesh, Dewa, Ankit, and Rahul were wonderful people who did their best to fix the many issues this school has.

The school lacked organization, professionalism, and had a very low standard of teaching. The classes that we were promised did not even add up to 200 hours. The tutors were consistently late, which made us students lose motivation and start showing up late as well, resulting in even shorter classes. To make matters worse, a class was cancelled simply because it was raining, despite it being the rainy season. This further reduced the number of hours we had for learning.

The yoga classes were nothing special; we were hardly taught how to actually teach yoga, except for two sequencing lessons. What’s even more concerning is that there was no assessment or requirement for us to actually teach yoga.

It was shocking to see that some students were absent for a significant number of classes, approximately 40%, and yet they still passed and are now considered “qualified yoga teachers.”

Throughout the course, there were a total of five teacher changes without any warning or explanation. The tutors for Astanga, meditation, alignment, and pranayama classes kept changing and then changing back, creating confusion for both the students and the tutors themselves.

I had two instances where I had to console a fellow student who was sobbing because she had complained to the management and the tutors confronted her.

The food provided was terrible; it lacked variety, taste, and portion sizes were always insufficient.

I don’t typically write reviews, but I believe this school not only offers a poor experience for students who are paying a significant amount of money, but it is also potentially dangerous as it is certifying individuals who are not adequately prepared to teach yoga.

Overall, I honestly think this is a dreadful school that exists solely to make money. It’s difficult to find anything positive to say about it as almost every aspect was a disappointment. The only things worth mentioning are the nice pool at the accommodation and the helpfulness of the accommodation manager. I could tell that the manager was embarrassed about the poor quality of food that was being served, especially since it was recommended by the yoga school. Most of the other students had decent accommodation, but unfortunately, my friend and I were placed separately and our rooms were filled with mold. When I checked out, I noticed that some of my clothes had mold on them, but the manager promptly arranged for them to be cleaned.

The Anatomy and Philosophy classes are not well organized. I can just Google the information and watch YouTube videos, which are even clearer than what the teacher explains. For example, their notes on the 5 Kleshas can easily be found on a website, and they only mention very little about the 7 chakras.

One of the meditation teachers suddenly disappeared and just left a message through WhatsApp. We only found out from another teacher, without any official notice. There’s no contingency plan or backup if a teacher gets sick. They just expect the students to self-study. What would happen if the teacher is sick for a few days?

They changed the pranayama teacher in the middle of the course, and then changed again. There was no communication between those teachers, so they didn’t know what the other teacher had already taught.

I came to Bali to learn how to be a teacher, but we didn’t have much time for teaching practice. We didn’t come here to practice yoga, as we could do that in our home country. The school should provide guidance on how to teach yoga so that students can practice teaching, not just practice yoga themselves.

The school grouped all the students from the 100 hours, 200 hours, 300 hours, and 500 hours programs together, and we all learned almost the same things. They should separate the students into different classes based on their yoga level.

It’s just not organized, and what I’ve learned is not enough to become a teacher. The lead trainer was not able to effectively guide the course.

The food options were almost the same and lacked variety.

Ankit and Rahul – they are very young but have a passion for teaching, especially Rahul. He is willing to spend extra time teaching advanced poses to students. The course coordinator, Deva, tried his best to fix the problems and take action.

I found the training to be quite disappointing. I was hoping to learn more practical teaching knowledge, but I feel like I didn’t learn much at all. Some of the teachers seem inexperienced and lack training on how to effectively teach others. There was a lack of structure and coordination among the teachers in terms of content and theme. It felt like we didn’t get what was promised in the syllabus. Many participants were inexperienced as well, so we had to spend a lot of time on basic things. The whole program felt more like a retreat than a yoga teacher training. They mixed the 100hr, 200hr, and 300hr classes together, and the 300 hour program was almost identical to the 200 hour program. The management and scheduling were disorganized. Overall, the program lacked depth and structure. While the instructors were all kind and good-hearted, I don’t feel like I got my money’s worth. The “included excursions” were just transportation, and you still had to pay for activities once you arrived. There was a lack of communication regarding this. The accommodation was nice and the food was good. The instructors were young but kind-hearted.

The Philosophy classes didn’t have as much discussion as I expected and the Anatomy classes lacked practical knowledge. It seemed like the focus of the course was more on self-development rather than teaching others.

There were some communication issues right from the start. I had booked private accommodation and confirmed it via email, but when I arrived, I was told I had to share for a night. I ended up finding another place to stay for that night and didn’t have to share, but I wasn’t happy about the mix-up.

The program also seemed to be poorly managed. Classes often started late because the teacher showed up late, and some classes were cancelled without any backup plans due to teacher illness or bad weather. When I gave feedback, some teachers took it seriously and made improvements, while others made me feel like I was causing trouble. I didn’t appreciate that.

The food was good at first, but it became repetitive after a week. Just be prepared for Thursday afternoons and Sundays off, as well as dealing with a lot of mosquitoes.

I really enjoyed Rahul Ji’s Vinyasa classes. He was full of energy and passionate about sharing his knowledge of yoga. We also learned a lot of traditional adjustment techniques from him, which was really fun to try on each other. Ankit Ji’s alignment classes were also great. He was clear and detailed, always making sure we understood everything. I liked how he added some theory to his Ashtanga practical classes. Aylan Ji taught us Pranayama and her classes were delivered very well. Her personal journey in yoga was inspiring. Durgesh Ji’s meditation classes were exceptional. They were well-structured, explained clearly, and really enjoyable.

It was interesting to have different teachers for Meditation, Alignment, Pranayama, and Ashtanga. It allowed us to experience different teaching styles.

We stayed at Puri Suksma, which was a beautiful place surrounded by nature. We had some interesting encounters with monkeys, squirrels, and various types of insects. It felt like living in a National Geographic documentary.

I met some amazing people from all over the world during this program and learned so much from them. I made new friends and gained a greater awareness of my body. I discovered new aspects of myself and became a better yoga practitioner. I’m really grateful for this experience.

The food was the same every day, and they didn’t vary its options at all. Some of the classes were pointless because there was no clarity on which concepts had already been taught, who hadn’t learned them yet, or what level people were at. As a result, they started from scratch for everyone, including those who were already experienced teachers with 200 hours under their belt.

We did a lot of practice, but there was no instruction on how to structure a class or create a smooth flow. When we asked the teacher about it, they seemed surprised that we expected such guidance on a ‘teacher training’ course. Despite gaining knowledge about philosophy and other aspects, I didn’t get a chance to actually teach a yoga class during the entire four weeks I was there. Now I’ll have to do additional research on my own to learn how to structure a class, as this important aspect wasn’t covered. While the teachers were nice, the classes lacked any sort of structure.

I wish the school would provide coffee for afternoon/before lunch class. It would help with the tiredness from morning exercises and improve concentration. I love how this experience brings me back to simplicity – simplicity of the mind, expectations, resources, especially when it comes to food and relaxing locations.

I really appreciate all the hard work and preparation the teachers have put in. I’ve had great learning experiences with Rahul Ji and Ankit Ji in Yoga Asanas, Aylan Ji in Types of Breathing, and Durgesh Ji in Meditation. It feels like I’ve been here for a long time and I don’t want to leave.

I stayed at the retreat for 7 days and let me tell you, Dewa and his wife were amazing hosts. They made sure that you never had any worries. The guest house was absolutely charming, with a wonderful pool to relax in. The massages by Mini were so invigorating, and Cynthia and Armin’s yoga sessions were just perfect. Nothing. I’m satisfied with everything. We had a small group, excellent teaching, accommodations reserved exclusively for students—so we formed a family, had meals together on site, and complete immersion.

We had a few problems due to the lack of communication between the people in charge of the accommodation and us, but they were nothing major. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable and they provided us with everything we needed for the course. The location was absolutely amazing! We felt like we were in our own little secluded world with a small temple right next door. And yet, we were still close enough to all the things we needed in Ubud. I have to say, the food exceeded my expectations. Towards the end, it got a bit repetitive, but it was always fresh and there was always plenty of it. I’m really grateful for that.

The accommodation is located in Ubud, but to get to the center or a proper supermarket, you usually need a taxi because the accommodation is a bit secluded. The teachers were super, they were dedicated to everything. The single rooms were spacious and generously sized, with their own shower and toilet, which were cleaned daily by the staff. The food was always served on time and lovingly prepared, mostly vegan and gluten-free. 🙂

First of all, they emailed me the address of a new location in Bali at the last moment. I struggled to find the new place when I arrived late at night and couldn’t find a phone number for the course leaders online. To my terrible surprise, the place I ended up at didn’t match the pictures on the retreats ad. The pictures were misleading and caused distress for me and the whole group. I was shocked because I had traveled a long way and already paid my deposit online. I even thought about leaving. The accommodations were unsatisfactory and the yoga studio wasn’t any better. This really affected my initial impression of the YYT and their staff, which caused them to lose credibility. The bad feelings and vibes continued for a while during the training. However, we discussed the issues as a group with the course leader and they resolved them by changing the accommodation and offering morning practices at a nicer yoga studio. The food started off great, but then the presentation and variety declined. The cleanliness of all areas was also unsatisfactory. It was a shame that we had to go through this lack of order and unprofessional management at the beginning of our journey to become Yoga Certified Trainers. Moving on, Bali is truly a special city. The people there are warm and always smiling. As for the YTT, the instructors made it all worthwhile. Their deep knowledge and positive energy helped me stay motivated in such a strict but rewarding schedule. Special thanks to Guru Pradeep Ji, who has a clear and detailed way of explaining postures and alignment. His expertise, along with the other teachers’ knowledge and energy, made the course truly valuable. The delicious vegetarian meals were also one of the highlights. I must say, the group experience with people I had just met was extremely heartwarming. The shared moments and experiences during the short but intense course with such amazing people are unforgettable and truly priceless.

We just finished our 200-hour TT with the Bali Yoga School, which is associated with the Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, India. We were looking for a yoga school that could give us authentic knowledge of yoga, and the teaching staff did an incredible job of delivering that throughout the course.

Our days would start with Shatkarama (cleansing process) followed by Ashtanga yoga led by the fantastic teacher, Pradeep ji. He has a deep understanding of yoga anatomy and alignment, and his expertise was evident in the instructions we received. We learned three new asanas every day and gradually progressed through the Primary series of Ashtanga Yoga.

The best part of the day was meditation and philosophy class with the humble Johsan ji. He taught us in-depth topics with a lighthearted approach, making it easy for all of us to understand.

Cinthia’s Vinyasa flow class was also great. She shared valuable information on sequencing and teaching cues, and she encouraged everyone to teach, making the practical assessment component of the training much more enjoyable.

Our rooms were equipped with hot water, air conditioning, a communal pool, and a study area for night-time. The food, provided by a caterer organized by the yoga school, was overall great, especially the vegetarian and gluten-free breakfasts.

Overall, it’s a fantastic school! Minal and Hesh

The teachers at this yoga school are the most positive aspect. They are lovely individuals full of energy, passion, and dedication. They know how to motivate students, possess a wealth of knowledge, and love to share and spend time with new yogis. They always have a smile on their faces and are available to help in any way they can. They truly inspire me and give me the strength to continue on this path and stay focused. Each of them has shared a part of their soul with me, and I have countless beautiful memories of the time spent with other students and all the teachers. I feel grateful to have found such a wonderful new family. Thank you, teachers, you are simply amazing!

The food was good, and I never went hungry as a vegan. Sometimes, the choices were limited, but towards the end of the course, they began to understand how our food choices could be improved. I hope they take on board that knowledge so that future vegan students will benefit. By the way, I am actually English, not from the States.

I was impressed by the teachers’ adaptability to our requests for altered schedules to accommodate our needs. Dewa did a fantastic job organizing our Sunday sightseeing trips, making our stay memorable in many ways. Their philosophy was to ensure we had an amazing stay. I also have to mention Cynthia, our Ashtanga flow teacher. She was awesome – incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and so much fun!
