December 24, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t have high expectations because their Instagram didn’t provide much information, but the experience turned out to be incredibly genuine and amazing. Our group consisted of just 8 people, and we really bonded over time. I felt completely at ease with the teachers, staff, and the entire group. The food was also fantastic, mainly Indonesian cuisine with rice, tofu or tempeh, and vegetables. Not only did I enjoy the physical aspect, but the spiritual side, which was new to me, was equally incredible. Learning Hatha from Via was a real highlight. She taught us to stay calm and give just enough guidance without overwhelming others. It made a huge difference for me! All the other teachers were also exceptional, eager to share their yoga knowledge. I highly recommend this place if you’re seeking an authentic yoga experience with like-minded individuals.

November 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI really didn’t like how Aeral Yoga was taught at all. It was lacking in everything. After just 2 lessons without even explaining how the class is structured, they told us to create a class. Out of the 5 sessions, 3 were where we had to teach our classmates… I didn’t learn much at all. I really liked the teaching method of instructor Obi because you can tell they put their heart and soul into it.

August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe place where we practiced Yoga and the props were really unhygienic. Everyone who attended the Yin yoga session had a horrible experience. We had to attend classes in nearby studios even after paying for the course. The lead instructor mentioned in the certificate was not present. The food was satvik and just okay.
Helpful ReviewAlexis Mcduffee
August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe yoga props they provided were of really poor quality and cleanliness. The mats and blocks at the studio were the grimiest and lowest quality I’ve ever seen, so I brought my own mat to avoid using theirs.
Most teachers didn’t really prepare us to become yoga instructors. They just watched us do flows and rarely helped with alignment or provided feedback during or after class.
The accommodation was pretty average. The sheets and towels were stained and dirty. During my first 100 hours, I didn’t have hot water in the shower and the toilet was broken. They eventually fixed the toilet but also put a random board on the ceiling to cover up water damage from above. Luckily, when I switched rooms for the second 100 hours, the bathroom situation was better. Plus, you have to ask to have your room cleaned and sheets/towels changed.
However, I have to give credit to Azmi and Yansha, who were some of the best teachers I’ve ever had the opportunity to learn from. I really appreciated their passion and the energy they brought every day. They made sure we were prepared to become yoga teachers and genuinely cared about us understanding the difference between just practicing and truly learning from this experience. I also really enjoyed Obi and Veny, although their classes were more focused on being students rather than potential teachers.
On the bright side, the food was really good. However, if you’re doing the full 200 hours instead of just 100, there is a lot of repetition on the menu. It would also be great to have a higher protein option for breakfast considering the amount of movement we do each day.
Despite its flaws, I ended up enjoying my time because of what I learned about myself, the amazing people I met, and the incredible energy from the teachers who were genuinely passionate about teaching us.

May 20, 2023 at 12:00 amI was really disappointed with the hiring of a yoga teacher. During the exam, she just sat in the corner playing on her phone or looking bored. The food was delicious and the location was also really good.

April 26, 2023 at 12:00 amI had a fantastic time at the Aayaa yoga teacher training in Bali. I absolutely loved practicing yoga and meditation outdoors in the beautiful green surroundings, with birds and lizards singing in the background – especially in the morning. And after the sessions, we got to enjoy tropical fruits for breakfast.
The teachers at Aayaa are not only knowledgeable, but also really fun to be around. They are dedicated to helping you understand and learn yoga and meditation from the inside out.
I was feeling stressed and needed a break from everything, so this experience was perfect for me. But what made it even better was being able to meet new people who were also into healthy lifestyles. And let’s not forget about the amazing food, nature, weather, sun, and massages – everything was just incredible.
I had such a great time and ended up learning even more than I expected. I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers and the Aayaa crew for everything. I’ll definitely be back for more!

February 26, 2023 at 12:00 amThe room was basic, but it did the job. The meals could have had more protein in them, as there wasn’t always protein included.
The teachers were incredible! I could immediately tell how experienced they all were. I learned far more than expected during the 200-hour course. The overall experience here was fantastic. The people I met during the course were amazing, and the staff provided friendly and helpful assistance. The food was delicious, and while the room was simple, it served its purpose. I wholeheartedly recommend this school!

December 27, 2022 at 12:00 amThe meditation classes just felt weird to me. The teacher kept going on about his guru turning a man into a stone and causing a flight delay so his friend could get on. He even claimed he could control the rain and bring pets back from the dead through meditation techniques (he said his friend did it). I personally found these comments off-topic and they made it hard for me to stay engaged in the class since he kept bringing them up. On the bright side, the overall environment was great. The location and the yoga room were both nice, and I felt comfortable in my bedroom. Most of the other yoga teachers, like asthanga, vinyasa, hatha, yin, and aerial yoga instructors, were fantastic. The pranayama classes were also enjoyable 🙂

December 3, 2022 at 12:00 amThe hotel staff was very nice, but I found it difficult to keep my space clean. They didn’t provide any toiletries, not even hand soap in the bathroom. Also, they only gave us one towel, which was personally challenging for me. However, please don’t let this discourage you. The course is definitely worth the value.
I absolutely loved this course! It was so enjoyable. It had its physical challenges at times, but it was the perfect amount of challenge for me. The staff are all amazing and lovely! The course was very detailed, and I learned way more than I expected. The food was incredible! I truly experienced a transformation and I’m so excited to continue my yoga journey.

August 5, 2022 at 12:00 amI’ve had an amazing experience here. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing everything they have with us. Via, in particular, is like a beautiful flower teaching me how to breathe in a way I’ll never forget. Shanti is also very special, with a deep understanding of philosophy both inside and outside of class. I’m so grateful for Hari’s meditation classes, where he truly practices what he preaches. And Jaggy, all the way from India, has given us invaluable teachings on Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy.
And let’s not forget precious Ida, who leads us in singing the Sun Salutation together. It’s been such a special experience.
The place we’re staying in is perfect. There are rice fields and natural paths all around, allowing us to breathe properly while taking in the incredible colors of Bali. The food is not only delicious but also healthy, and it’s always served with a warm smile. I’ve definitely gained more from this experience than I could have imagined. I especially love that they focus on the traditional basis of yoga, which is becoming rare in the Westernized yoga culture. Your body will thank you for it.

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amOur teachers Via, Shanti, Ida, and Igor were very warm and open people. They guided us very well and pushed us to our limits. The training woke me up and made me rethink a lot of things. My own practice now looks much more mindful. It’s no longer about faster, higher, and farther, but about what is good for me and how can I incorporate this thinking into my teaching. Thank you to these wonderful people!

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amThe complex in general could have higher cleanliness standards, although the dining and teaching/practice areas and our rooms were more or less clean. I want to thank all the teachers – Via, Igor, Shanti, and Ida – for sharing their knowledge and skills with us wholeheartedly, patiently, and with love. They provided us with the best learning resources, and it was up to us, the students, to utilize them. I really appreciate how the course strikes a great balance between the spiritual aspects of yoga and asana practice. The teachers inspired me to realize the endless possibilities that yoga, as a science that you personally practice, offers. The food was absolutely delicious! I also want to express my gratitude to the staff, especially Hari, who was always available to help whenever needed.

March 22, 2020 at 12:00 amWe noticed the warning signs right from the moment we arrived. They sent me on the back of a scooter to a jewelry store to get cash for my course fees. The opening ceremony only lasted 15 minutes, and none of our instructors showed up. Most of the time was wasted on filling out forms.
I only attended the first day of classes and it was a mess. None of our teachers matched the ones displayed on their website, and they didn’t even provide their credentials. The yin yoga teacher clearly lacked knowledge and interest in the subject. Our philosophy and anatomy classes were just a continuation from the previous aerial course, so we were jumping in the middle. On top of that, the classes were poorly delivered.
I immediately reached out to Aayaa yoga after the first day, and reached out again to express my concerns about the course. I hoped they weren’t aware of how poorly their Rishikesh school was being run. Unfortunately, I haven’t received a response from them yet.
If you’re serious about learning yin yoga, I strongly advise staying away from this school. The food was alright, and the building manager was nice and apologetic about the situation.

March 21, 2020 at 12:00 amThe Yin Teacher didn’t properly train me in Yin Classes. It wasn’t up to standard. Yoga Alliance needs to know about aayayoga Rishikesh, where they give out certificates without completing courses. Deepak isn’t qualified to teach Yin class or a 50 Hr Teacher Training. It didn’t meet the standards. On Day 2, I left the course and the manager offered me my certificate.

February 10, 2020 at 12:00 amI actually liked it, but for me, as a non-vegetarian, I found it had too much rice, veggies, tofu, tempeh… It tasted great, but it made my stomach bloated, so I ended up switching to only having soups. And let me tell you, they were absolutely delicious.
The breakfast there was out of this world! Fruit, pancakes, fried bananas – the best meal ever! I seriously wanted to stay there longer or even move there, ha!
In my opinion, being taught by teachers from a real eastern culture is a truly unique and indescribable experience. It really opens up your heart and helps you put your ego aside. It’s something that can benefit all western people!
Each teacher has their own special way of teaching, and when they’re all together, the energy in the room is so loving and beautiful. They’ll have you laughing so hard, but they also take their job very seriously and are there to teach you, heal you, and share their knowledge. They genuinely care for you and are more than happy to help.
Multistyle yoga was perfect for me because it allowed me to choose the style that suited me the most and enjoy teaching it as well.
Let me just say, Bali is hands down the most beautiful country with the most beautiful souls living there.
Oh, and by the way, they have a fantastic swimming pool, and the rooms are spacious with stunning views of the sunset. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and spas within walking distance. And did I mention it’s close to the Monkey Forest?

January 31, 2020 at 12:00 amI visited Aayaa Yoga for a one-week aerial yoga course, but ended up staying for a whole month! As soon as I arrived at the school, I felt welcomed and right at home. Pabi, the manager, was incredibly sweet and helped me settle in quickly. She made sure I was comfortable with everything. The students had a welcome ceremony in the evening, and we instantly clicked. The next day, we started our classes, and I absolutely fell in love with aerial yoga. Our amazing teacher, Konty, made the experience even better. I decided I wanted to stay longer and complete the 200-hour teacher training course. Once again, Pabi and the management team were super helpful and managed to accommodate my last-minute request.
The rest of the classes, including Vinyasa and Yin, taught by Konty, were fantastic. They were suitable for both beginners and advanced students. Vishu’s Philosophy class was mind-blowing, as he is an excellent teacher. Dwayne’s Anatomy class was detailed and enlightening. He is also a wonderful teacher.
I am so grateful for this experience, the people I met, the amazing skills I learned, and most of all, the incredible sense of family we created together.
Thank you for everything!

January 30, 2020 at 12:00 amIf you want a relaxing and chill retreat, this may not be for you. The activities at this retreat are done with TTC students, so you get to learn about yoga in addition to attending classes. We changed accommodations, but the new place was even worse than the first. However, Aayaa made an effort to make up for the inconvenience by providing extra blankets, heaters, and arranging for electricians to fix the hot water. They are always there to help you solve any problems you may have. The classes always start late, which is great if you struggle to wake up in the mornings, but can be annoying if you are punctual. Before you apply, make sure to ask for all the details in advance because the information on bookyogaretreats can be a bit misleading. The location is a bit farther from Laxman Jhula and the city vibe, but it is still within walking distance, so it’s not a big problem. Considering the amount of money you pay, don’t expect luxury service or complete pampering, but it’s still an okay experience. Being with the TTC students was a great way for me to understand what it’s like before signing up. I even got to enjoy a complimentary rafting experience with everyone, which was really fun. The Ashtanga class teacher is amazing, and you have the opportunity to join all the classes the students are attending, which is a great way to learn more about yoga, postures, philosophy, and more. The food was also really tasty and nice.

December 29, 2019 at 12:00 amEveryone tried their best to accommodate us, but sometimes they couldn’t meet our restricted diet. I understand it’s not easy, but I really appreciate their efforts. This retreat exceeded our expectations. Manish and Kounty, our teachers, were absolutely amazing. They are highly skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable. They also have a great sense of humor and are very adaptable. Manish guided us through the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga and patiently answered all our questions. Kounty impressed us with his teaching style, physical agility, and the way he combined yoga with dance, gymnastics, and fitness. He had a beautiful smile, a great spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor, but he also took his role as a yogi very seriously. The teachers were able to adapt their training to a diverse class and our family with different ages and abilities. We can’t find the right words to express our gratitude and eternal thanks to them.
Pabitra, the operational manager, and Manish, the business owner, took great care of us and made sure to accommodate our requests. Our two chefs prepared delicious and wholesome meals and served them in a calm and relaxed manner. Our temporary home was a charming house, located just a short distance from the beach with plenty of nice restaurants and shops nearby. The owners of the house were very responsive and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we are truly grateful to everyone who played a part in our short yoga journey. A heartfelt namaste from our family to all of you!

November 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI can’t believe how much the marketing for this place lied to us. It really upsets me because the teachers were actually nice, but I can’t help feeling like the whole thing was manipulative and dishonest, especially with the Marketing/Indian owner involved.
The teachers were definitely not what they were advertised to be. I was so disappointed. And don’t even get me started on the accommodation. It was filthy, with mold on the pillows and a towel that smelled like a wet dog. The shower pressure was terrible, especially if other people were showering at the same time. The drains were almost blocked, and all they did was unscrew the pipes and put a bucket underneath. They didn’t even bother cleaning the pool; it was yellow when we left.
As for the food, it was hit or miss. Sometimes it was alright, but it was definitely not the Ayurvedic diet they claimed. It was clearly low budget, with sugary foods for breakfast and way too much Tofu/Tempeh, which left us feeling bloated and with stomach pains.
The yoga philosophy was a mess. It was so hard to follow, and honestly, you’d get more out of reading a book or watching a video. And don’t even get me started on the hours. They promised 200 hours, but it was more like 150.
Half of the yoga classes were just the same as any regular class, and none of us got any adjustments from the teachers. And forget about the Ayurveda class; we had to bug them 10 times before they finally gave us a video.
The whole ceremony was a joke. There was no flower or fruit composition like they promised. Everything they said about their facilities on the website was a straight up lie.
Now, don’t get me wrong, Ubud is a fantastic and spiritual place, and I’m grateful the course was held there. The teachers were nice and knowledgeable, so I still had some fun and enjoyed my time. However, I wouldn’t say that any of us are really ready to be yoga teachers after this. This course is more like a yoga retreat than an actual yoga teacher training. It’s great for your personal spiritual journey, where you can learn the basics of spirituality, yoga, and Hindu philosophy, and get some daily yoga practice in.

September 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI had the best time doing my first yoga teacher training at aayaa yoga school. It was the perfect place for me to deepen my practice and learn more about yoga and everything related to it. They taught us four different styles, which allowed me to explore different approaches to yoga and adjust my classes accordingly. The staff at the accommodation were so friendly and took great care of me, especially since I have a gluten-free eating preference. The location is really close to Ubud, but you still feel like you’re surrounded by nature because of the beautiful rice fields nearby. The teachers at the school are absolutely amazing and share their experiences and wisdom with us. I highly recommend this school to anyone starting their yoga journey.

September 6, 2019 at 12:00 amThe wifi consistently gave me problems and wasn’t working… it was so frustrating! I had to go to the cafe down the road just to study or even download a movie for some downtime in my room, not to mention making calls to my family back home. But luckily, that’s something they can fix in the long run 🙂 I had such high expectations for the retreat, and they were totally exceeded!! I learned the true essence of yoga, and it’s not just about poses/asanas (although I definitely worked hard on those too!) My favorite classes were the philosophy and meditation ones, they gave me life-changing knowledge and perspective that will stay with me forever. I feel so much calmer in my mind and soul now… and my body also transformed after those three weeks! As a beginner, I thought the course was intense, but I got what I paid for, and now I’m proud to say I’m confident in my own yoga practice and ready to share what I’ve learned as a certified yoga teacher :). I’m so grateful for all the teachers who helped me along the way, they were patient, happy, incredibly knowledgeable, and caring! They even organized a day trip to the waterfalls, which was pretty cool of them. And let’s not forget about the food, it was absolutely delicious!!! I couldn’t wait for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, I just couldn’t get enough of it :D. I highly recommend coming to Aayaa yoga, you definitely get more than you bargained for in terms of value for money. Thank you to everyone at Aayaa yoga!!

The teachers were truly excellent and they really paid attention to each individual, which was truly admirable! This stay will always stay in my memory and it has actually helped me personally a lot. Such a special experience. Thank you so much!

September 3, 2019 at 12:00 amThe cleanliness of the room. The organization and rhythm of the days, the delicious food, the warm welcome from the hotel staff, the aerial yoga classes, the pranayama, philosophy, and meditation courses.

August 26, 2019 at 12:00 amI thought the facilities should have been cleaner. My room, bathroom, and the yogamats all needed some serious scrubbing. And don’t even get me started on the food – it was all just white rice, morning, noon, and night!
I had told the hostel I was arriving in the middle of the night, but when I got there, my room wasn’t ready. No toilet paper, towels, or soap – not exactly what you want after a 24-hour journey.
But on the bright side, the program was worth the money. The teachers were great, and the food, location, and accommodation were pretty much what I expected.

August 20, 2019 at 12:00 amThe whole experience was exceptional – there wasn’t just one thing. I only stayed for 5 days, but I will definitely go back for the full course.

August 3, 2019 at 12:00 amI wanted to do some yoga during my short stay in Ubud, so I looked for a retreat style immersion. Manish was really helpful and got me set up in a yoga teacher training course. I got to participate in asana classes, yoga philosophy, and teachings. The teachers were awesome and really knew their stuff. The small group setting made it feel personal and cozy. It was a great experience chatting with everyone and I’m glad I did it.

August 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a fantastic experience at the yoga training! The room and accommodation were amazing, and the location in Ubud is perfect. The yoga hall isn’t enclosed, so you feel connected to nature all the time. After a few days, it felt like home, and not just because of the accommodation. The people I met were awesome – we had a blast and had some deep conversations. The teachers were all super nice, authentic, and supportive. They were always there to help when we needed it. During the yoga practice, we learned a lot from the experienced teachers and had a great time. They were all friendly and always explained things clearly.
What I loved most about the training was the connection between the physical practice and the mental aspect. It’s so important to understand your body and the science of yoga, especially if you want to teach. We got to try different yoga styles, which was really fun. The teaching style was professional but relaxed, so we always felt comfortable. We all became friends and the positive vibes were always there. I enjoyed every moment and I highly recommend this YTT!
I’m so happy I chose this school – it was the perfect place to meet amazing people and learn more about myself. A huge thank you to Via, Shani, and Jagjeet for being incredible, as well as to my classmates. I already miss you all! Sending lots of love <3

July 17, 2019 at 12:00 amDuring my training, we were not lucky, there were construction works right in front of the hotel. The noise was therefore at times unpleasant, but it will not be for the next trainings.
Helpful ReviewThe lack of dessert for meals. The training being multi-style. It allows to discover yoga styles that we have sometimes never practiced. It makes the training more diverse.
The location in UBUD: quiet but close to the center. Ideal for going to relax with a massage, eating an ice cream, or going to the market.
The food is very good and the staff very kind.

July 9, 2019 at 12:00 amThe construction in the neighborhood is distracting but it should be finished soon. What can you do, it’s Bali 🙂 They have amazing food, safe and clean hotels, passionate, knowledgeable teachers, and a business that cares.

June 22, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a great week where I not only got to relax but also learned a ton! The yoga and theory teachers were super nice and were able to teach a lot in a short amount of time. What I really liked was being able to join the teacher training participants in their classes!

June 21, 2019 at 12:00 amThe only thing I can suggest is to mix up the food a bit more, but that’s just because I have a sensitive stomach 😉 I really enjoyed the 50h Aerial YTT I took part in. The instructor was experienced and structured the course well, making sure we could practice aerial yoga safely and learn how to teach without accidents or injuries. We had access to the classroom 24/7 for practice during breaks.
Manish, who organized the training, was very professional and made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. The forms he sent asking for our medical history and food preferences were a nice touch. When I arrived at the retreat, I was warmly welcomed by Parvitra, who made sure everyone felt like family. She went above and beyond to organize extra activities like massages, water rafting, or even a tattoo artist session.
If students had any requests, like adjusting the schedule or adding extra classes, Manish and Parvitra did their best to accommodate them. The place was clean, air-conditioned, and had good WiFi. Overall, great value for the money!

June 8, 2019 at 12:00 amI joined a group for a retreat that involved teacher training. We started our days with morning yoga and ended with an evening session, with some extra activities in between. Most of the day was free, but it was too hot to do anything outside. The yoga sessions were practical and informative, but there wasn’t any spiritual guidance. It felt more like a hotel vacation with some yoga on the side. The yoga studios lacked that spiritual atmosphere with no music, scents, or dim lighting. You could come in on any day and the rooms were comfy with AC. Pabrita was always there to help and give advice, she’s really friendly and eager to ensure you have a good time. The massage was great and rafting was a blast. The food was decent, but if someone in the group doesn’t like spice, everyone gets bland food, which is disappointing in India. We had a memorable fire ceremony as a group one evening. Overall, it’s a great deal for the price.

June 6, 2019 at 12:00 amI had an amazing experience at Aayaa school during my YTTC. All the teachers were knowledgeable and engaged, and I learned a lot about yoga theory, asanas, and philosophy. The schedule and organization were well maintained. Manish and Popi took care of us, making us feel welcomed and comfortable from the beginning. And the food was delicious! Thank you for everything.

May 27, 2019 at 12:00 amI loved this training! They quickly addressed any concerns I had. The retreat location was great, the teachers were knowledgeable, and I learned so much. The alignment teacher was fantastic and taught me a lot. The Ashtanga teacher was tough but made great adjustments to deepen my practice. The Philosophy teacher was helpful and spent extra time with us. The food was delicious, especially the mushrooms and spinach soybean milk cream sauce! The staff was friendly and remembered my favorite drink. A special shoutout to our Manager Pabitra for going above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable, especially for helping me during the hike. I couldn’t have done it without her!

May 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t love how things were organized, it was slightly unclear. It seemed like the instructors were surprised when I showed up on my scheduled date for teacher training and I was on a separate schedule.
The facility was kind of hard to find since the name aayaayoga isn’t listed on maps. Making the payment was difficult because they don’t accept cards at the location, but other than that, everything was fine! The people at this retreat were very accommodating, from the amazing manager Pabi to the kitchen workers. The facilities were great, and I absolutely loved the food – they even accommodated my extra tea and special pancake requests 🙂
The yoga instructors were very informative. Morning hatha was a great way to wake up, and ending the day with meditation sessions was incredibly relaxing. The ashtanga class was challenging in a good way, and Neeraj really helps improve your form, getting you much deeper into poses.
I also enjoyed the rafting trip and had the best massage I’ve had in the past 6 months in Asia!

April 23, 2019 at 12:00 amThe “retreat” takes place in a regular hotel with non Yoga guests who do not respect any rest time. The common area serves as a living room so there are no exterior areas available. This is not the ideal place for a yoga retreat or teacher training. I won’t be able to stay there for a full month.

April 2, 2019 at 12:00 amFrom the moment I walked in the door, they extended phenomenal hospitality to me. Everyone was very friendly and wanted to make sure they took care of my every need. The food, classes, and people were all great, and they went out of their way to ensure my experience was awesome. It was a bit unexpected for me to join classes with others doing their yoga teacher training, who had been there for a week, but I didn’t mind at all. Just something to keep in mind!

The people here are like a family and you instantly become one of them. I’ll definitely come back for a longer stay and wish my new family the best of luck. I already miss you guys. Thank you so much for the love, yoga, food, and even the washing machine :). Jaggi is so knowledgeable and loves to share. Vivek can definitely make you move in ways you never thought possible.
