I didn’t have any specific dislikes, but the other attendees were surprised when they saw me. While they were all doing yoga teacher training, I was the only one on a yoga retreat. However, I still had a great time because I approached everything with a positive mindset and a desire to learn. I was really impressed by the staff at Bali Yoga School; they were incredibly polite and helpful. They made me feel so welcome. Even though I’m not vegan, I absolutely loved the food they served at every meal. The fruits were incredibly sweet and the rest of the dishes had such flavorful and fun names.
Helpful ReviewI didn’t go on a retreat; I spent five days doing it alone before joining a group of ten people who were completing the 200 hours in just one month. They had been practicing yoga every day for the past two weeks and were aiming to become teachers, so their level was different from mine. It wasn’t exactly a relaxing experience since the purpose of the 200 hours was to learn quickly and earn the degree, rather than simply enjoying the practice of yoga as I had expected. Maybe you should inform people who are interested in the retreat that they will be joining this type of group. By the way, the place is really amazing, the staff is incredible, and the rooms are really nice.
Helpful ReviewI found everything quite satisfying! The teachers were great, they kept us engaged and gave helpful alignment tips. They really fostered a sense of confidence in the entire group. The facilities were nice and there was a great sense of community.
Helpful ReviewThe accommodation wasn’t great… and it was expensive for what it offered.
It was loud and narrow.
There wasn’t much space to relax and have some privacy.
The food was good but it was always the same.
The teachers were excellent and the people there were nice, approachable, friendly, and helpful.
But all things considered, everything went well.
The instructors were really friendly and had a positive approach. I learned a lot within just two weeks. The classes flowed nicely and we had longer breaks to rest or relax between lunch and the next session. I highly recommend this place and the people working there, they were all very friendly and helpful. It’s a peaceful and relaxing place. I’ll definitely come back for another class when I’m in Bali. Thank you for such a nice experience.
Helpful ReviewI wish I could have had the chance to do one more class excursion. The teaching staff in the program was my favorite part – they were all professional, knowledgeable, and consistent in terms of rigor and expectations.
Helpful ReviewThe construction site has a single yoga class offered every day, which has a great energy and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Helpful ReviewSometimes, I would get hungry after finishing my meal portion. But, no worries! I would just whip up some instant food instead. And guess what? It tasted pretty good! So yeah, I absolutely adore this school. It’s got everything I need. I’d give it a solid 9.5 out of 10.
Let me break it down for you: the accommodation is amazing. It’s not just clean, but also so cozy. Plus, there’s a swimming pool surrounded by trees. How cool is that? And hey, the people here are super friendly. I’ve made some great friends already.
Oh, and let me tell you about the air. It’s so fresh and rejuvenating. You can take a deep breath and feel all the stress melt away. And you know what? The teachers here are top-notch! They’re cool, supportive, and always ready to lend a helping hand when you need it.
But wait, there’s more! We get to do yoga all day long. That’s right, ALL day long! It’s such a great way to relax, stretch, and stay fit. I couldn’t ask for a better school experience.
Helpful ReviewI really loved everything about the 300hr Yoga Teacher training with Himalayan Yoga Ashram. The course was fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough. The information they provided was so in-depth and comprehensive. We did physical yoga practices every day, learned about anatomy in technical classes, and had amazing discussions with different teachers about yoga philosophy, meditation, breathing techniques, Mudra practice, and Ayurveda.
I feel like I learned so much from a traditional perspective rather than just what you would find in mainstream yoga. The anatomy classes were especially great because they explained how the body works in a way that was easy to understand. It wasn’t just rote memorization – I actually understood it!
The feedback on our assignments was super helpful and motivating. They really encouraged us to reflect on our own development.
Since completing the course, I’ve fallen even more in love with yoga. It not only prepared me to teach in a classroom setting, but it also gave me the confidence to do so. I’m so inspired to keep learning, practicing, and continuing on my yoga journey.
Helpful ReviewN.A. Himalayan Yoga Association offers an in-depth and comprehensive teaching manual. You can watch the pre-recorded training videos whenever and wherever you want, at your own convenience. The daily live zoom classes help us grasp different yoga subjects, and we can ask the teachers any questions we may have for further clarification. I really hope to visit Rishikesh one day. Thank you for this amazing course, and a big shout out to Saumya-ji.
Helpful ReviewThank you so much for this incredible experience. I participated in the 300hr Online Yogateacher Training in November and it was absolutely amazing. The Yoga Theorie liveclasses were so clear and easy to follow, the information was spot on and I really loved immersing myself in a month full of Yoga. Surprisingly, I also connected with the other students and it felt like a tight-knit community, which I didn’t expect from an online training. It was such a pleasant surprise. I especially enjoyed the practical live classes and I’m thrilled to have delved into Ashstanga Yoga. The small groups in this online yoga teacher training made it feel so personal and not anonymous at all, which meant I could ask all my questions during the live classes. Thank you to Bali Yoga School and HYA for making this possible. Namaste.
Helpful ReviewHonestly, I liked everything. The food was nice, and as a vegetarian, I didn’t feel like I needed anything more (just espresso ?). I loved the place; it was so peaceful. My experience with the teachers was amazing. I learned a lot from Shanti Ji, Ida Ji, and Niki Ji. I’m so grateful to have met these beautiful souls in my life. Dewa Ji made me feel at home. I am 100% happy with my experience, and all my memories with Bali Yoga School will remain in my heart forever. I wish I could stay longer. I wish you all the best. Thank you ?? ?.
Helpful ReviewThe tropical weather can sometimes make mosquitoes quite annoying, so don’t forget to bring mosquito spray. The school is beautiful and has a great location. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the teachers are very professional. The Balinese vegetarian meals are absolutely yummy and they offer different varieties every day. I really enjoyed my time studying here and I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends as well.
Helpful ReviewI felt a lack of protein in my meals since I’m not a vegetarian. It wasn’t enough for the physical effort required, and as a result, I personally lost a lot of weight, which is not a positive thing for me.
The rooms should be cleaned better, especially the areas with insects.
I would have liked to stay longer, but I will definitely come back. ??
The place is beautiful, the schedule is perfect, and the food is amazing.
The teachers are just incredible. They made me feel comfortable right away, and you can tell that despite their young ages, they excel in their work, both in theory and practice. Neelam Ji, funny and passionate. Durgesh Ji, calm and soothing. Rahul Ji, very professional and patient. And lastly, Ankit Ji, my favorite teacher, fun and challenging, a breath of fresh air in the classroom. Thank you to all four of you for your kindness, patience, and the passion you put into your work. I won’t hesitate to experience it again with the same teachers. ❤️?
Helpful ReviewThe teachers, they’re incredible. So dedicated, you wouldn’t believe it. And let me tell you about the host, simply amazing.
Helpful ReviewMosquitoes evolved there, so it’s better to bring long yoga pants for class because spray won’t help much ? I absolutely loved the alignment, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga classes. Ankit ji and Rahul ji are both incredibly professional and knowledgeable. They exceeded my expectations in teaching. A special thanks to Durgesh ji and Dewa ji for taking such good care of all the students. The accommodation was lovely, and the staff were so welcoming. I especially enjoyed being neighbors with a local family, which made me feel like a true local. It was also my first time trying a vegetarian diet, but the food was so delicious and there were plenty of options. It actually helped me lower my fat and build muscle. Overall, my experience with the Bali Yoga School was incredible. I had a really fun and nice time.
Helpful ReviewI’ve been doing yoga for 8 years now, so I was a little worried about not learning as much. But let me tell you, the training at Bali Yoga School exceeded all my expectations! The teachers are absolutely amazing, they have such great personalities and genuinely care about us. They constantly pushed us to our limits while making sure we were safe. I can’t recommend Bali Yoga School enough to anyone! ?
Helpful ReviewI loved the time I spent here and I am forever grateful for everything I learned. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and had such good hearts. It really felt like being with family.
This place is just so beautiful, and it allows you to truly connect with yourself. I was able to meditate peacefully and go deeper thanks to the guidance and energy of the teachers.
If you’re still hesitating about taking this time for yourself and being in a space where you can experience pureness, connectedness of mind, body, and soul, and intrinsic well-being, please go for it. I highly recommend it and I hope you make it there 🙂
Helpful ReviewI read some reviews before attending the program in January and was expecting some changes. However, the program surprised me with its new location and food options. The food was mainly high in carbs and didn’t seem to be very nutritious. I have celiac disease and was told they could accommodate my gluten-free diet, but unfortunately, they didn’t fully understand what it meant. As a result, I became sick frequently. Moreover, there seemed to be a lack of alignment between the goals of the students and the teachers. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this training for 300-hour students. On a positive note, one thing I did enjoy was getting the chance to spend a lot of time doing yoga!
Helpful ReviewThe school had a lot of disorganization and unprofessionalism, and the teaching was of a very poor level. The classes provided before starting didn’t even add up to 200 hours. The tutors were consistently late, which demotivated the students and made them start showing up later, resulting in even shorter classes. One class was even cancelled just because it was raining, during the rainy season no less, reducing the hours even more.
The yoga classes were just regular yoga classes. We weren’t really taught how to actually “teach” yoga, except for two sequencing lessons. What’s even more concerning is that we weren’t assessed on our yoga teaching or asked to teach yoga at all.
A lot of students missed many classes – I would estimate around 40% of them – and still managed to pass and become “qualified yoga teachers.”
There were five different teachers who changed throughout the course. The Astanga class, the meditation class, the alignment class, and the pranayama class all had their tutors changed, and then changed back, without any warning or explanation, not even to the tutors themselves.
On two occasions, I had another student break down and cry in my arms because the tutors had confronted her for complaining to the management.
The food was terrible – bland and never enough. It was very basic, and I was left feeling unsatisfied.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I genuinely believe that this school not only provides a terrible experience for students who are paying a lot of money, but it could also be dangerous, as they are certifying people who aren’t ready to teach yoga.
Overall, it’s hard to say what I liked about this school, because almost every aspect was a disappointment. However, I will admit that the pool at the accommodation was quite nice, and the manager of the accommodation was very helpful. She seemed embarrassed about the low quality of food that was being served, which was suggested by the yoga school. Most of the other students’ accommodations were nice, but my friend and I were situated away from them, and our rooms had a lot of mold. When I checked out, I realized that some of my clothes had mold on them, but the manager was very helpful and promptly got them cleaned.
Helpful ReviewThe school lacked organization and professionalism, which resulted in subpar teaching quality for a 200-hour qualification. Throughout the course, tutors changed five times, and they were young and inexperienced in teaching teachers. Moreover, the tutors often arrived late, causing students to arrive late as well. The school’s management was unprofessional as they did not require an exam on teaching yoga. The yoga classes focused solely on practicing yoga, without teaching students how to deliver a class as a teacher. The food provided was extremely poor. Surprisingly, some students who missed several classes still received a certificate at the end of the course. Additionally, the excursions were not as advertised on the website, and students had to pay for them despite them being included in their package. It seemed like the school prioritized making money rather than providing a good standard of education. The owner was unhelpful and difficult to approach. It appeared that he spent an excessive amount of time with a particular student, raising doubts about his qualifications as a yoga teacher and as a professional manager of a yoga school. On a positive note, Ubud is a wonderful place to visit. Durgesh, Dewa, Ankit, and Rahul were pleasant individuals who did their best to address the numerous issues present within the school.
Helpful ReviewThe Anatomy and Philosophy classes in our school are not well organized at all. I find that I can easily find better explanations and information by Googling and watching YouTube videos. The notes on the 5 Kleshas, for example, could easily be found on a website, and the teacher only briefly touched on the topic of the 7 chakras.
To make matters worse, one of our meditation teachers unexpectedly left and left us a message through WhatsApp. We didn’t receive any official notice or have any backup plan in case a teacher got sick. They simply told us to study on our own. What would happen if the teacher got sick for a few days?
In the middle of the course, they replaced the pranayama teacher not once, but twice! There was no communication between these teachers, which means they didn’t know what the other had already taught.
I came to Bali to learn how to be a teacher, but we didn’t have much time for teaching practice. We didn’t come here just to practice yoga, as we can do that at home. The school should provide us with guidance on how to teach yoga, not just focus on our own practice.
To make matters even worse, they grouped all the students from different hour levels together, so we were all learning basically the same things. They should have separate classes for different levels of yoga experience.
Overall, the organization of the course has been a letdown and I don’t feel like I’ve learned enough to become a teacher. The lead trainer hasn’t been able to effectively lead the course.
On a positive note, Ankit and Rahul, despite being young, have a strong passion for teaching. Rahul especially is willing to dedicate extra time to teach advanced poses. Our course coordinator, Deva, has been trying his best to fix the issues and take action.
The food provided has been quite repetitive and lacking in variety.
Helpful ReviewI found the training to be quite disappointing overall. I was hoping to learn more practical teaching skills, but I felt like I didn’t gain much knowledge. Some of the teachers seemed inexperienced and lacked training in actually teaching others, despite their personal practice. The lack of structure and coordination among the teachers was evident and didn’t align with the syllabus. Additionally, many participants were inexperienced, so we had to spend a lot of time on basic concepts. It felt more like a retreat rather than a yoga teacher training, especially since they combined different program levels. The management and scheduling were also disorganized. Overall, the program lacked depth and structure. I believe the instructors are good people with good intentions, but I didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth. The “included excursions” only covered transportation, and there was limited information on additional costs. On the positive side, the accommodations were nice and the food was nutritious. Despite their youth, the instructors were kind-hearted and good people.
Helpful ReviewThe Philosophy classes didn’t have as much discussion as I expected, and the Anatomy classes lacked practical knowledge. It seemed like the main focus of the course was on self-development rather than teaching others.
I had some issues with communication from the beginning. Even though I had booked private accommodation and confirmed it via email, I was told upon arrival that I had to share a room for a night. Eventually, I found another place to stay for that night and didn’t have to share. However, I wasn’t happy with the mix-up.
The program was poorly managed in some ways. The classes often started late because the teacher was late. Some classes were even canceled without any backup plans due to teacher illness or bad weather. When I gave feedback, some teachers took it seriously and made improvements right away, while others made me feel like I was causing trouble. I didn’t appreciate that kind of response.
The food was initially good, but it quickly became repetitive after a week. Just a heads up, Thursdays and Sundays were off days, but there were also a lot of mosquitoes around.
Our Vinyasa teacher, Rahul Ji, was amazing. He had so much energy and was really passionate about sharing his knowledge of yoga. I loved his classes. He also taught us traditional adjustment techniques, which were really fun to learn and try on each other. Ankit Ji’s alignment classes were clear and detailed, and he always made sure we understood everything. I also liked how he incorporated some theory into his Ashtanga practical classes. Aylan Ji taught us Pranayama, and her classes were delivered really nicely. Her personal yoga journey was inspiring as well. Durgesh Ji’s meditation classes were exceptional. They were well-structured, well-explained, and incredibly enjoyable.
We had different teachers for Meditation, Alignment, Pranayama, and Ashtanga, which was great because we got to experience different teaching styles.
We stayed at Puri Suksma, which was a beautiful place surrounded by nature. There were visits from monkeys and squirrels, and I even saw different types of ants and butterflies. It felt like living in a National Geographic documentary.
I met incredible people from all over the world and learned so much from them. Completing this program has allowed me to make new friends, become more aware of my body, discover new aspects of myself, and improve as a yoga practitioner. I’m truly grateful for that experience.
Helpful ReviewThe food was the same every day, and we had some classes that felt pointless because we had no idea who had already been taught or what level everyone was at. So, they made everyone start from scratch, even for those who already had 200 hours of teaching experience.
We had plenty of practice, but we never learned how to structure a class or put a flow together. When we asked the teacher about it, they seemed shocked that we expected this from a ‘teacher training’ course. While I did gain knowledge about philosophy and other subjects, I didn’t actually get a chance to teach a yoga class during the four weeks we were there. Now, I’ll have to do more research on my own to learn how to structure a class because that’s something they didn’t teach us. The teachers were nice, but their classes lacked structure completely.
Helpful ReviewI wish the school would provide coffee for afternoon/before lunch class. It would help us with the tiredness we feel after morning exercises and improve our concentration. I really enjoy how this experience brings me back to simplicity – simplicity of the mind, expectations, resources, and especially food and relaxing locations. I want to express my appreciation for all the hard work and preparation the teachers have put in. I had a great learning experience in Yoga Asanas with Rahul Ji & Ankit Ji, Types of Breathing with Aylan Ji, and Meditation with Durgesh Ji. It feels like I’ve been here for a long time and I don’t want to leave.
Helpful ReviewThey should have included more yoga/meditation according to the program. Not everything matched up with what was announced. The day trips lacked variation and flexibility.
Helpful ReviewFinding the Bali yoga school was a bit tough – they actually have two locations. One is for teacher training, and the other one is Dewa’s place, which is perfect for short retreats. Don’t forget to ask for directions. I stayed at the retreat for a whole week, and let me tell you, it was amazing. Dewa and his wife were incredible hosts, always there to help with anything you needed. The guest house was lovely, with a charming pool that just added to the whole experience. And let’s not forget about the invigorating massages by Mini and the perfect yoga sessions led by Cynthia and Armin. If you’re looking for an escape from the chaos, this place has everything you need.
Helpful ReviewI think vinyasa classes need improvement in the teaching, but I absolutely loved Pradeep’s classes and meditation.
Helpful ReviewI can’t believe how much I learned, and I’m so grateful to the instructors and host for everything!
Helpful ReviewIl n’y a rien.
Helpful ReviewWe had a few problems because the people who took care of the accommodation didn’t communicate well with us. But it wasn’t anything too serious. The teachers were amazing and gave us everything we needed for the course. The location was incredible, we felt like we were in our own little world with a small temple right next door. And it was still close enough to all the things we needed in Ubud. The food exceeded my expectations, although it did get a bit repetitive towards the end. But it was always fresh and there was always plenty of it, so I’m thankful for that.
Helpful ReviewThe location of the accommodation is in Ubud, but to get to the center or a proper supermarket, you usually need a taxi because the accommodation is somewhat secluded. The teachers were super, they were dedicated to everything. The single rooms were spacious and generous, with their own shower and toilet, which were cleaned daily by the staff. The food was always served on time and lovingly prepared, mostly vegan and gluten-free 🙂
Helpful ReviewFirst of all, I received an email with the address of a new location in Bali at the last moment. It was difficult to find the new place when I arrived late at night, and I had trouble finding a phone number for the course leaders online. To my terrible surprise, the place I arrived at did not match the pictures on the retreats ad. The pictures were very misleading and caused great distress for both me and the whole group. I was shocked because I had traveled a long distance and already paid my deposit online. I even considered leaving. The accommodations and the yoga shala were both unsatisfactory. This really affected my initial impression of the YYT and their staff, which made them lose credibility. The bad feelings and vibes continued for some time within the training. However, the issues were discussed as a group, and the course leader made changes to the accommodation and added more morning practices in a much nicer yoga shala. The food initially started off great but then declined in presentation and variation. The cleanliness of all areas was also unsatisfactory. It was a shame that we had to experience such a lack of order and unprofessional management at the beginning of our journey to become Yoga Certified Trainers.
On a positive note, Bali is truly a special place with warm and smiling people. The instructors of the YTT made the whole experience worth it. Their deep knowledge and great energy helped me get through the strict but rewarding schedule. I want to give special thanks to Guru Pradeep Ji, who has a clear and in-depth way of explaining postures and alignment. His expertise, along with the other teachers’ information and energy, made the course valuable. The delicious vegetarian meals were also one of the highlights. Additionally, the group experience with people I just met was heartwarming. The moments and experiences shared during the short but intense course with all the amazing people there are unforgettable and priceless.
Helpful ReviewWe just completed a 200-hour TT (Teacher Training) with Bali Yoga School, which is associated with the Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, India. We were looking for a yoga school that could provide authentic knowledge of yoga, and the teaching staff at this school definitely delivered. They did an incredible job throughout the course.
Every day, we would start our mornings with Shatkarama (a cleansing process), followed by Ashtanga yoga led by an amazing teacher named Pradeep ji. He has a deep understanding of yoga anatomy and alignment, and his expertise in yoga science was apparent in the instructions he gave us throughout our time at the school. Over the course of four weeks, we gradually learned three new asanas (poses) each day and progressed through the Primary series of Ashtanga Yoga.
One of the highlights of our day was the meditation and philosophy sessions. We had the privilege of learning from a humble and knowledgeable teacher named Johsan ji. He taught us in-depth topics with a lightheartedness that made it easy for all of us to understand and enjoy.
Cinthia’s Vinyasa flow classes were also great. She provided valuable information on sequencing and teaching cues, and she encouraged all of us to practice teaching. This made the practical assessment part of the Training much more enjoyable.
The rooms we stayed in had amenities like hot water, air conditioning, and a communal pool. We also had a designated study area for nighttime studying. The food, provided by a caterer organized by the yoga school, was overall great, especially the breakfast. All the meals were vegetarian and gluten-free.
Overall, we highly recommend this school. Minal and Hesh.
Helpful ReviewThe teachers at this yoga school are the most positive aspect. They are lovely individuals brimming with energy, passion, and dedication. They know how to motivate students, possess a wealth of knowledge, and genuinely enjoy sharing and spending time with new yogis. They are always smiling, available for any kind of help, and truly inspire and give me the strength to continue on this path while staying focused. Each teacher has shared a piece of their soul with me, and I have countless beautiful memories of the time spent with fellow students and all the teachers. I am grateful to have found such a wonderful new family. Thank you, teachers, you are simply amazing!
Helpful ReviewThe food was good and I never went hungry as a vegan, although the choice was sometimes limited. Towards the end of the course, they started understanding how to improve our food choices. I hope they take that knowledge on board for the benefit of future vegan students. By the way, I’m actually English, not from the States!
I was impressed by how adaptable the teachers were to our requests for altered schedules that suited our needs. Dewa did a great job organizing our Sunday sightseeing trips, making our stay memorable in so many ways. Their philosophy was all about us having an amazing stay. And let me mention Cynthia, our Ashtanga flow teacher, who was awesome. She had incredible knowledge, was approachable, and added so much fun to the classes. ?

December 12, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t have any specific dislikes, but the other attendees were surprised to see me since I was the only one doing a yoga retreat while they were all doing yoga teacher training. However, I had a great time because I kept a positive attitude and was eager to learn. The staff at Bali Yoga School really impressed me with their politeness and helpfulness. They made me feel incredibly welcome. Even though I’m not vegan, I absolutely loved the food served at every meal. The fruits were delightfully sweet, and the other dishes were packed with flavor and had catchy names.

November 18, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t retreat; I did it alone for 5 days and then joined a group of 10 people to complete the 200 hours in one month. They had been doing yoga every day for two weeks as they wanted to become teachers, so their level was different. It wasn’t relaxing at all; the goal of the 200 hours was to learn quickly and earn the certification, not to enjoy the practice of yoga as I had anticipated. Maybe you should let people know that they’ll be joining this type of group if they want to do the retreat. The place is truly fantastic, the staff is amazing, and the rooms are really nice.

May 15, 2023 at 12:00 amThe accommodation wasn’t great and it was expensive for what we got. It was loud and narrow, with not much space to relax and have privacy. The food was good, but it was always the same. However, the teachers were excellent and the people there were nice, available, kind, and helpful. Overall, everything went well.

February 14, 2023 at 12:00 amThe instructors were really nice and had a positive approach. I learned a lot in just two weeks. The classes flowed smoothly and we had longer breaks to rest and relax between lunch and the next class. I highly recommend this place and the people working there. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place. I’ll definitely come back for another class when I’m in Bali. Thank you for such a nice experience.

May 16, 2022 at 12:00 amThe 300hr Yoga Teacher training with Himalayan Yoga Ashram is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it. The course provides comprehensive and in-depth information on various topics, from physical yoga practices to anatomy classes and discussions on yoga philosophy, meditation, breathing techniques, Mudra practice, and Ayurveda.
I was truly impressed by how much I learned during the course. The teachers provided detailed explanations and made sure we understood everything. The anatomy classes were especially great because they taught us about the mechanics of the body in a way that was easy to understand. It really helped me grasp the concepts.
The feedback on assignments was also really helpful. It was constructive and encouraging, which motivated me to reflect on my progress and development.
After completing the course, I felt an even deeper love and appreciation for yoga. It not only prepared me to teach in a classroom setting, but it also inspired me to continue learning and practicing yoga. I’m excited to continue on this path and see where it takes me.

May 2, 2022 at 12:00 amN.A. Himalayan Yoga Association offers a comprehensive teaching manual that covers everything you need. You can watch the pre-recorded training videos whenever and wherever you like, at your own speed. December 23, 2021 at 12:00 amI’m incredibly grateful for this amazing experience, and I can’t thank you enough. I participated in the 300hr Online Yogateacher Training in November this year, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The live Yoga Theorie classes were so clear and organized, providing exactly the information I needed. This whole month dedicated to Yoga was such a joy for me. Surprisingly, I even connected with other students in the course, and it felt like we formed a small community. I never expected that from an online training, but it was really pleasant. The practical live classes were also a highlight, and I’m thrilled to be diving into Ashstanga Yoga. The small groups in this online yoga teacher training made it feel more personal and less anonymous, allowing me to ask all my burning questions during the live classes. Thank you, Bali Yoga School and HYA, for everything. Namaste.

March 30, 2020 at 12:00 amI felt a lack of protein in the meals since I’m not a vegetarian. It wasn’t enough for the physical effort required, which resulted in significant weight loss for me. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a positive outcome in my case.
They should improve the cleanliness of the rooms, especially in areas with insects.
I would have loved to stay longer, but I will definitely come back. ??
The place is beautiful, the schedule is perfect, and the cuisine is outstanding.
The teachers are just amazing. They immediately made me feel comfortable, and despite their young age, I could tell they had perfect mastery of their work, whether it was in theory or practice. Neelam Ji is funny and passionate. Durgesh Ji is calm and soothing. Rahul Ji is very professional and patient, and lastly, Ankit Ji, my favorite teacher, is fun and challenging. A breath of fresh air in the classroom. Thank you to all four of you for your kindness, patience, and passion in your work. I want to give a special thanks to Durgesh ji and Dewa ji for taking such good care of all the students. The accommodation was lovely, and the staff were extremely welcoming. I especially loved having a local family living next to us. It made me feel like a local myself. February 25, 2020 at 12:00 amI read some reviews previously that mentioned how the program had dramatically changed, including the food and syllabus. However, when I did my program in January, I found that they had indeed changed the location and food, but it wasn’t what I expected. The food was mainly high-carb and didn’t seem very nutritious. I have celiac disease and was assured that they could accommodate for it, but unfortunately, they didn’t really understand what “gluten-free” actually meant. As a result, I got sick frequently. Additionally, it seemed like there was a disconnect between the goals of the students and the teachers. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this training for those pursuing a 300-hour certification. On a positive note, I did appreciate the opportunity to spend time practicing yoga.

February 25, 2020 at 12:00 amThe school had very disorganized and unprofessional practices, and the teaching level was extremely poor. When we started the classes, they didn’t even add up to 200 hours. The tutors were consistently late, which demotivated the students, causing them to also show up late and resulting in even shorter classes. To make matters worse, one class was cancelled just because it was raining, even though it was the rainy season. This reduced the hours even more.
The yoga classes were just regular yoga classes. We weren’t really taught how to ‘teach’ yoga, except for two sequencing lessons. What’s even more concerning is that we weren’t assessed on our yoga teaching or asked to teach yoga.
A significant number of students missed multiple classes, probably around 40% of them, and yet they still passed and are now considered “qualified yoga teachers.”
There were five teacher changes throughout the course. The tutors for the Astanga class, meditation class, alignment class, and pranayama class changed, and then changed back, without any warning or explanation given, not even to the tutors themselves.
On two occasions, I had to console another student who was crying because the tutors had confronted her after she complained to the management.
The food provided was terrible. It was basic, tasteless, and never enough.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I strongly believe that this school not only offers a tremendously disappointing experience for students who have paid a considerable amount of money, but it is also potentially dangerous as it certifies people who are not adequately prepared to teach yoga.
In all honesty, I think this school is awful and seems to have been established solely to make money. It’s difficult to find something positive to say about it, as almost every aspect was a letdown. However, I did enjoy the pool at the accommodation, which was quite nice. Additionally, the manager of the accommodation was very helpful. I got the impression that she was embarrassed by the poor quality of food that the yoga school suggested. Most of the other students had decent accommodations, but unfortunately, my friend and I were placed in rooms with a lot of mold. When I checked out, I noticed that some of my clothes had mold on them, but the manager promptly arranged for them to be cleaned.

February 25, 2020 at 12:00 amThe school lacked organization and professionalism, which affected the quality of teaching for a 200-hour qualification. Throughout the course, the tutors changed five times and were young and inexperienced in teaching teachers. They would often arrive late, causing students to also be late. The management of the school was unprofessional as well. They did not require an exam on how to teach yoga, so the yoga classes focused solely on practicing rather than learning how to deliver a class as a teacher. The food provided was extremely poor. Surprisingly, some students who missed several classes still received a certificate at the end of the course. The excursions were not located where they were advertised on the website, and students were expected to pay for them when they were supposed to be included in the package. It seems like this school is more focused on making money than on providing education or helping students become good teachers. The owner was unhelpful and unapproachable, and it seemed like they spent too much time with one particular student, raising doubts about their qualifications as a yoga teacher or professional manager of a yoga school. On a positive note, Ubud is a lovely place to visit. Durgesh, Dewa, Ankit, and Rahul were the only bright spots in the school as they tried their best to address the many problems it had.

February 23, 2020 at 12:00 amThe Anatomy and Philosophy classes are not well organized. You can easily find clearer information on Google or YouTube than what the teacher provides. For example, their notes on the 5 Kleshas can be found exactly on websites, and they only briefly mention the 7 chakras.
One of the meditation teachers suddenly left and just sent a message through WhatsApp. We only heard about it from another teacher, with no official notice. There is no contingency plan or backup if a teacher gets sick. They just expect the students to self-study. What would happen if a teacher gets sick for a few days?
They changed the pranayama teacher halfway through the course, and then changed again. There was no communication between those teachers, so they didn’t know what the other teacher had already taught.
I came to Bali to learn how to be a teacher, but we didn’t have much time for teaching practice. We didn’t come here just to practice yoga, as we can do that in our home countries. The school should provide us with guidance on how to teach yoga, not just for practicing it.
The school grouped students from the 100 hours, 200 hours, 300 hours, and 500 hours courses together, and we all learned almost the same things. They should separate the students into different classes based on their yoga levels.
It’s not organized, and what we’re learning is not enough to become a teacher. The lead trainer is unable to lead the course effectively.
The food provided is almost always the same and lacks variety.
Ankit and Rahul, although young, have a great passion for teaching. Especially Rahul, who is willing to spend extra time teaching advanced poses to students.
The course coordinator, Deva, is doing his best to fix the problems and take action.

February 17, 2020 at 12:00 amI found the training to be quite disappointing. I was hoping to learn more practical teaching knowledge, but I feel like I didn’t learn much. Some of the teachers seemed inexperienced and lacked training on how to actually teach others. There wasn’t much structure or coordination between the teachers, and it felt like we didn’t get what was promised in the syllabus. Many participants were also inexperienced, so we had to spend a lot of time on basic things. Overall, it felt more like a retreat than a yoga teacher training. They combined the 100hr, 200hr, and 300hr classes, which was disappointing. The 300hr program was pretty much the same as the 200hr program, and participants attended almost every class together. If that had been my program, I would’ve asked for a refund. The management and scheduling were also a mess. It wasn’t an in-depth or structured program at all. I appreciate the instructors’ good hearts, but I don’t feel like I got my money’s worth. Also, the “included excursions” only covered transportation, and you still had to pay for activities once you arrived. There was poor communication about that. The accommodation was nice, the food was good and healthy. The instructors were all young, but they were kind-hearted and good people.

January 30, 2020 at 12:00 amThe Philosophy classes didn’t have as much discussion as I expected, and the Anatomy classes lacked practical knowledge. They seemed to focus more on self-development than actually teaching others.
When I arrived, there was a mix-up with my accommodation. I had booked private accommodation, but I was told I had to share for a night. I ended up finding another place to stay for that night, so I didn’t have to share. It was a bit frustrating.
The program wasn’t managed very well. Classes often started late because the teacher was late, and some classes were even cancelled without any backup plans. When I gave feedback, some teachers took it seriously and made improvements, but others made me feel like a troublemaker. That didn’t sit well with me.
The food was good for the first week, but then it became repetitive. There were also a lot of mosquitoes. Just a heads up, Thursdays and Sundays are off days.
We had different teachers for Meditation, Alignment, Pranayama, and Ashtanga. It was interesting to experience different teaching styles.
We stayed at Puri Suksma, which was a beautiful place surrounded by nature. We had visits from monkeys, squirrels, ants, and butterflies. It felt like living in a National Geographic documentary.
I met amazing people from all over the world and learned so much from them. This program has allowed me to make new friends, become more aware of my body, discover new aspects of myself, and become a better yoga practitioner. I’m really grateful for that.

January 30, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food was the same every day. Some classes seemed pointless because we had no idea who had already taught, who hadn’t, or what level everyone was at. They made us start from scratch every time, even for those who already had 200 hours of teaching experience. We did plenty of practice, but they never taught us how to structure a class or create a flow. And when we asked the teacher, it was like they were shocked that we were on a ‘teacher training’ course. While I learned a lot about philosophy during the 4 weeks we were there, I never got a chance to actually teach a yoga class. I’ll have to do more research on how to structure a class because they didn’t teach us that. The teachers were wonderful, but the classes had no structure at all.

I love how this experience brings me back to simplicity – simplicity of the mind, expectations, resources, especially when it comes to food and relaxing locations.
I really appreciate all the hard work and preparation the teachers have put in. I’ve learned so much from Rahul Ji and Ankit Ji about Yoga Asanas, Aylan Ji about different types of breathing, and Durgesh Ji about meditation.
It feels like I’ve been here for a long time and I don’t want to leave.

May 16, 2019 at 12:00 amFirst of all, I was emailed the address of a new location in Bali at the last moment. It was really difficult for me to find the new place when I arrived late at night, and I had a hard time finding a phone number for the course leaders online. To my terrible surprise, the place I arrived at didn’t look anything like the pictures in the retreat ad. The pictures were very misleading and it caused a lot of distress for me and the whole group. I was in shock because I had traveled so far and already paid my deposit online. I even thought about just leaving. The accommodations were really unsatisfactory and the yoga studio wasn’t any better. This really made me question the credibility of the YYT and their staff, and it brought a lot of negative vibes to the training. Luckily, we discussed the issues as a group with the course leader, and they were able to fix things by changing our accommodations and giving us access to a nicer yoga studio a couple of mornings a week. The food started off really nice and varied, but then became less impressive in presentation and variety. The cleanliness of all areas was also not up to par. It was really a shame that we had to deal with such disorganization and unprofessional management at the beginning of our journey to becoming Yoga Certified Trainers.
Now let’s talk about Bali itself. It’s such a special place. The locals are so warm and always have a smile on their faces. As for the YTT, I have to say that the instructors made it all worth it. Their knowledge and incredible energy helped me push through the challenging and rewarding schedule. I want to give a special thanks to Guru Pradeep Ji, who explains postures and alignment in such a clear and in-depth way. His expertise, along with the information and energy from the other teachers, truly made the course valuable. And I can’t forget to mention the delicious vegetarian meals, they were definitely a highlight. But what really made the experience special was the bond we formed as a group. It’s amazing how quickly you can connect with people you’ve just met. The moments and experiences we shared during the short but intense course are something I will never forget. They were truly priceless.

May 11, 2019 at 12:00 amWe just completed our 200-hour TT with Bali Yoga school, which is associated with the Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, India. We were on the lookout for a yoga school that could provide us with authentic knowledge of yoga, and we were not disappointed. The teaching staff did an incredible job of passing on that knowledge throughout the course.
Every day, we would start our mornings with the Shatkarama cleansing process, followed by Ashtanga yoga led by the fantastic teacher, Pradeep ji. He has a deep understanding of yoga anatomy and alignment, and his expertise in yoga science was evident in the instructions we received. Cinthia’s Vinyasa flow classes were also great. She provided us with valuable information on sequencing, teaching cues, and, most importantly, encouraged everyone to teach. This made the practical assessment component of the training much more enjoyable.
Our rooms were equipped with amenities such as hot water, air conditioning, a communal pool, and a study area for our convenience. The food, which was provided by a caterer organized by the yoga school, was excellent. We especially enjoyed the breakfast, and all the meals were vegetarian and gluten-free.
