Come and enhance your Ashtanga Vinyasa practice in the serene landscapes of Bali! We will help you master the fundamentals, refine technique, and build strength in a supportive community that is dedicated to personal and collective growth.
For over 15 years, YogaUnionBali has been offering Yoga Teacher Training Courses (YTTCs) based on Vinyasa Astanga Flow. Ourania, the founder of YogaUnionBali, has decided to make Athens her new yoga home, bringing her experiences from Bali and Greece. Sharath, known for his advanced practice and teaching experience, will lead the course with assistance from Cecilia, a certified Ashtanga teacher.
At YogaUnionBali, we believe in delivering a truly special and life-changing experience. Our courses are intense and challenging, but they will make you stronger both mentally and physically. We guarantee that if you commit to our course, you will never look back. We hope you will join us soon.
To make the most of your training, we recommend having a foundation in fundamental yoga postures. Our classes and exams are conducted in English, so proficiency in the language is necessary. It is also important to attend all classes and lectures for the success of the training.
Drawing from 15 years of experience, Sharath has developed a 50-hour module that provides a practical and transformative experience. The course specializes in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and creative sequencing of Vinyasa yoga, with a strong focus on the Asana practice. Throughout the course, you will build a solid self-practice, develop your technique and knowledge, and deepen your understanding of various aspects of yoga.
During the course, you will experience five days of Mysore-style Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, as well as pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting. You will learn in-depth about asanas, yoga philosophy, anatomy, and sequencing. There will also be specialized workshops on different topics. The course aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to excel as both a yoga teacher and a self-practitioner.
Start each morning with pranayama classes to ground yourself, set intentions, and gain conscious awareness of your body. Learn various breathing techniques such as yogic breathing, alternate nostril breathing, and humming bee breath.
Analyze and dissect advanced postures, learn proper alignment, and understand how to offer hands-on adjustments. Explore modifications, variations, and the use of yoga props.
Explore the origins of yoga and its philosophical concepts. Learn about the eight-limb path of yoga, prana, chakras, doshas, and more. Discuss how these concepts can be applied to modern life.
Gain a deep understanding of the human body, focusing on the nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems. Learn how these systems work together and how they relate to yoga practice.
Start teaching from day one and gradually progress to bigger groups. Receive feedback to improve your teaching skills, learn hands-on adjustments, and understand how to plan and structure a class.
Participate in specialized workshops that focus on creative Vinyasa sequencing. Explore topics such as hip opening, back bending, and inversions to enhance your understanding and proficiency in these areas.
Experience a typical day with shatkarma, Ashtanga practice, pranayama, adjustment and alignment classes, anatomy and philosophy discussions, special workshops, and chanting sessions.
Upon completion of the program, you will deliver a 30-minute Vinyasa flow class to receive feedback and take a written exam focused on asana analysis, philosophy, and anatomy. This course is a journey towards self-realization and self-love.

October 14, 2023 at 12:00 amI loved the Seminar! It was an unforgettable experience that I will always remember! I got to meet so many positive people in a beautiful location, and the food was amazing! The teachers were the absolute best too!
Himanshu Bahuguna is such an incredible instructor! His passion for Yoga and teaching is so evident in every moment of the training. It was such a gift to be able to train with him in Europe!
Faye Balomenou was absolutely incredible too! She supported us throughout the training and motivated us to bring out the best in ourselves. Her knowledge of Yoga Philosophy was impressive, and I had the most amazing Yoga Nidra experience during the Palairos seminar with Faye!
I definitely recommend this seminar to everyone! Don’t hesitate to book it! I’m already excited for the 300h training!
Namaste.

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Anatomy was taught in a very scattered manner and lacked enough discussion on how it relates to different yoga poses. It would be better if we could have the exam right after the lecture so that it could be incorporated into the training. Himanshu did an excellent job teaching Pranayama, Flow, and alignment.

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amFrom day 1, Himanshu and Faye made this journey unforgettable. They covered both the practical and theoretical aspects and provided extra support whenever needed.
Spiros, with his absolute passion for anatomy, made learning easy and enjoyable. He also offered continued support even after the training.
Our three teachers combined create a wholesome training experience. They will dissolve any worries about being prepared or feeling unprepared afterwards.
The sense of family we create here is incredible. We all share the same reason for being here and we want each other to succeed in our yoga practices. Sharing this journey with such amazing people will fill you with joy and fulfillment.
Lastly, the staff here is kind, generous, and hardworking. They always make sure we are comfortable during our stay.
In conclusion, if you’re interested in yoga, this is an experience you won’t regret.

September 11, 2023 at 12:00 amI got so much more out of this training than I expected. Our teachers, Faye, Ippoliti, and Spyros, are incredibly passionate about what they do and they can really help you understand and enjoy yoga. They make it easy to learn, and sometimes it’s even fun! The teachers and hotel staff were all really helpful with any questions or problems I had during my stay at Kosta Maria. The three weeks of training were intense, but you won’t regret choosing to do it if you want to learn more about yoga and improve your practice. You’ll learn so many new things during this time and really see how much you can achieve. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and grow together.

August 22, 2023 at 12:00 amI think the groups should have different age options. Personally, I would have preferred a group with people aged 30 and above. This training was incredible for experiencing yoga in all its beautiful forms. The location was chosen wisely – it was a small family-owned hotel where we felt right at home. The food was always fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us like family, showing us love and always being helpful. When I needed groceries, a staff member named Stella even took me to a nearby market, which was about a 25-minute walk away.
The training was intense both physically and spiritually. There were moments when we all felt emotionally overwhelmed, but thanks to our amazing instructors’ support, we were able to grow each day. Faye and Ippo, our instructors, were perfect in their own Yin & yang ways. Faye’s alignment classes and Ippo’s pranayama classes were truly one-of-a-kind. Even though we didn’t have as much time with him, our anatomy instructor, Sypros, was also unique and amazing. His passion for anatomy was obvious, and he motivated us in many ways.
All in all, this was an incredible experience for me personally. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves yoga and has the dedication and time for it. ???

July 7, 2023 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved my 200h vinyasa teacher training with YogaUnion in June 2023 in Ubud, Bali. It was a life-changing experience that went way beyond my expectations. The group of teachers I had was truly amazing, and I learned everything I wanted to know about yoga.
Not only did I gain a deep knowledge of yoga, but I also formed incredible connections with peers from around the globe. This training allowed me to explore myself in ways I never thought possible.
I have to give a special shout out to my lead teacher, Himanshu. He is by far the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. His expertise in yoga, from asanas to pranayama and philosophies, is unparalleled. Himanshu has extensive experience working with students of all levels and backgrounds. Plus, his passion for what he does shines through in his teaching. He’s always there to support and guide his students in any way he can.
I’m not the only one who feels this way about Himanshu. Many of my fellow classmates adore him just as much. Himanshu is truly the heart and soul of this training. We need more teachers like him in this world!

July 3, 2023 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved this 200 hour Vinyasa YTT in Paleros! It completely surpassed my expectations of what a 200 hour YTT could offer. Faye Balomenou teaches yoga with so much enthusiasm and she’s always eager to share her knowledge. Her alignment classes were incredibly detailed and precise, showing her experience and confidence in teaching and adjusting. The practices were intense and totally motivating.
Eleni Chantzara is an amazing complement to Faye. Her teachings in Pranayama and various workshops were so thoughtful and valuable. She also has a beautiful flow and a gentle energy.
Spyros Kapitsinos’ anatomy classes were truly one-of-a-kind. They were captivating and kept me engaged, even after long and tiring practices. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and empowers his students with a deep understanding of their own anatomy, both in their practice and in their teaching.
The hotel where the YTT took place is in a stunning location, just a half-hour walk outside of Paleros town, with its own private beach just a few staircases away. If you don’t feel like walking, there’s also a pool. Everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by breathtaking views of the sea and beautiful mountains. The upper and lower Shalas, combined with the scenery, create the perfect atmosphere to practice yoga.
The hotel staff was so friendly, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and the food was incredibly fresh, varied, and tasty. It mostly consisted of healthy and vegetarian spins on Greek dishes, although some may find it a bit heavy. Overall, I highly recommend this experience!

June 28, 2023 at 12:00 amThe food was really delicious and satisfying. Here are a few recommendations: it would be great to have more variety in the cereal and fruit options for breakfast; personally, I prefer the porridge to be thicker rather than soupy; and it would be nice to replace the stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes with a different dish.
Helpful ReviewI have to say, this yoga teacher training went above and beyond my expectations. Our teachers were absolutely amazing. They shared their knowledge with so much dedication and passion that you could feel the essence of yoga seeping into your body, mind, and soul. It’s an incredible feeling. I came home feeling completely myself and inspired to continue my own practice and teach others, which I never expected after just three weeks. Of course, it wasn’t always easy getting to this point. There were highs and lows, physically and mentally, but we needed to be pushed to our limits to realize our true potential and blossom, just like every other woman in the program. Fay is like a diamond with so many different sides to her personality and teaching style. She knows how to be critical in order to help us truly understand what we’re doing, but she also knows how to make us laugh. Eleni is a precious soul who made breathing and meditation so desirable and easy to comprehend. Her flows were both challenging and invigorating. Spyros made anatomy class interesting and logical, with lots of humor thrown in. I actually surprised myself by remembering all the important topics for the exam. The KostaMaria Family and staff are absolutely wonderful. The food is delicious and the rooms are spotless. And the best part? It only takes 106 steps to reach the beautiful crystal-clear water with an amazing view. You should definitely go for it!

June 27, 2023 at 12:00 amSince the meals were vegetarian, we ate a lot of tempeh. After a week, the meals became a bit repetitive. The practical and theoretical classes had a great atmosphere. We had some amazing encounters. The neighborhood was absolutely stunning.

June 27, 2023 at 12:00 amI recommend bringing your own yoga mat or a travel version to cover the existing yoga mats. The training took place in the beautiful Earth shala of YogaUnion, nestled in the rice fields of Ubud. The accommodation was conveniently located right next to the shala, just 2 meters away. While there wasn’t a pool on-site, we were able to use the pools at nearby places where some of the other participants stayed.
For meals, we dined at a restaurant that was only a 3 minute walk away. There are also some fantastic spas and cafes in the area, offering something different each day. While not every meal will suit everyone’s taste, the buffet always had something delicious to enjoy.
My main teacher, Gourav, has extensive knowledge about yoga, pranayama, and alignment of the asanas. He will thoroughly prepare you for becoming a yoga teacher. I must mention Menik, who was an amazing anatomy teacher. She could answer every single one of our questions and effortlessly connected the anatomy information with yoga poses.
Laila, our philosophy teacher, has a truly special energy, and her soothing voice adds to the experience. She also offers a 50-hour yin yoga teacher training. We had a mix of different yoga classes, including yin, restorative, acro, ashtanga, nidra, but our focus was mainly on vinyasa. The classes were at an intermediate level, but you’ll learn and grow stronger every day.
Our group consisted of 19 lovely participants who made the training enjoyable and created a truly special experience. I highly recommend it!

April 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI loved everything, but sometimes the restaurant got overcrowded and they always ran out of food. :(( But overall, I enjoyed it because everyone took great care of us.
Himanshu is amazing with his knowledge. Even though there were 30 of us, he managed to take care of and teach each and every one of us.
Laila is such a loving and motivating person. She inspired and filled my soul with love.
Fabien was always there during the training, and he helped correct me almost every time. I’m so grateful he was there with me. Sometimes he would give me a look and say, “You can do it, Sherin.” It meant a lot to me.

March 7, 2023 at 12:00 amGustis Garden water Shala was a disappointment. The rooms were filled with mold and my belongings, like clothes and shoes, were ruined. I feel like I paid too much for the accommodation. Thankfully, I brought my own yoga mat with me because the ones provided were stained and dirty. They even smelled bad! The Wi-Fi was incredibly weak and slow.
However, despite these drawbacks, the training was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. It was an incredible experience. I found a second family during my time there. Himanshu Bahuguna, my mentor and trainer, played a big role in making my experience wonderful. Now, I am a certified yoga teacher and I believe the knowledge I gained from Himanshu will be valuable throughout my yoga teaching journey.
Last year, a friend recommended that I do my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with YogaUnion, and I am so glad I did. These past three weeks with all the beautiful souls at YogaUnion have been incredible. Thank you so much to the team for being professional, kind, and open-minded. I learned so much from you all, and this journey truly changed my life. I will definitely be recommending YogaUnion’s training to my friends who are interested in YTT. Whether it’s in Bali or Greece, I know they will have a life-changing experience just like I did.
I am already looking forward to the 300-hour YTT with YogaUnion next year. I will definitely continue to follow Himanshu and his teachings. Thank you once again, and I hope to see you all very soon! ?????

February 20, 2023 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, I had some uncomfortable experiences with the location. The videos and photos I saw on the site for the past 5 years (the rice fields) did not match the actual place. It wasn’t clear to us that this was another venue used when the first one is fully booked. In the future, it would be nice if they informed us about the three venues and let us choose the specific one, like the rice fields instead of the down rabbit hole.
I also had an issue with my privacy because of the neighbor, but thankfully Ourania, the owner of Yoga Union, was very considerate and is taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future.
Apart from that, the place is nice. The bedrooms are new, and the people working there are very kind. The instructors, in particular, are fantastic. They have a high level of knowledge and a good attitude. They always asked us if we had any questions and made sure we had all the information we needed.
I want to thank Marina and Anna Viktoria for giving amazing classes filled with kindness, love, and enthusiasm. You guys will always have a special place in my heart! I would also like to thank Gourav and Laila, who are amazing and highly skilled teachers. And lastly, a big thanks to Menik, my incredible anatomy teacher. She made us love fascia and tendons, even though it sounds funny!

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amPeople with different levels of yoga experience may find that they don’t get the most out of the training because instructors have to slow down to accommodate everyone. This could also be a problem in other yoga teacher training programs. Certain sessions, like Kriya & Cacao ceremony, don’t seem relevant to me. I prefer workshops that focus on skills that will directly improve my practice and teaching. The instructors are both knowledgeable and patient, making for a great learning experience. The accommodations are excellent, and the staff is incredibly kind. The yoga workshops are top-notch, and the location near Ubud center is convenient. The shala is cozy, clean, and well-maintained.

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Teacher Training really exceeded my expectations. Even though I was fairly new to Yoga, I have to admit that the tight and packed schedule could be quite challenging at times. Yoga is so much more than physical exercise. Our Philosophy classes helped me start implementing the Yogic lifestyle into my daily life off the mat. It’s been a truly transformative experience.
I had the most wonderful and clean accommodation in the rice fields. It was just a few minutes away from the shala, where the classes were held. September 3, 2022 at 12:00 amThe course didn’t live up to my expectations. They promised us a different yoga teacher along with Himansu, but we didn’t get it. I also signed up to learn other styles of yoga like tantra yoga, Yin yoga, and pregnancy yoga, but except for one class, we weren’t fully educated on these styles to be able to teach them in our own practice. The course focused on asana and the mind, but it lacked soul and leadership skills. Our group was challenging because some people were opinionated and rude, even falling asleep or using their phones during lessons. It would have been better if there was someone to handle this behavior. Overall, the course felt like a trial run for a potential 300-hour course. I would have been satisfied if they had told me this before I booked, and if they had offered a lower price considering the accommodation, food, and individual teachers.

They had so much knowledge and were always available for us. I was particularly grateful for Angela, who worked so hard and spread love and positive energy to everyone. Helpful Review– Sometimes it was a bit difficult to leave the hotel, but that’s mainly because of the infrastructure in Palairos.
– The food was good, and they accommodated lactose-free/vegan diets. However, the labeling and options were sometimes a bit odd – they just need to practice more and offer a greater variety of dishes.
– I would have liked more opportunities to practice our own sequences, but I understand that there wasn’t much time for it considering how much we needed to learn in a short period.
– I would have preferred the course to be a couple of days longer, with less time spent on exams and more time dedicated to our personal flows. However, I realize that may not be feasible (the other 200-hour courses I looked at were even shorter!) 😉
– The planning wasn’t always perfect and there were instances where we didn’t receive information on time. But in the end, everything worked out.
– Thank you for the wonderful experience! Embarking on this yoga journey made me very happy. The course was intense and I learned a lot, just as I expected. The staff at Kosta Maria were kind and the location was beautiful!
I had several expectations before the course, and I’m glad they were fulfilled:
– I hoped for physically challenging training, and it definitely was!
– I wanted to gain a holistic view on yoga, and there was a good mix of different perspectives.
– I expected it to be intense and focused, and it did put a lot of mental pressure on me. But I’m still happier doing this intensive course rather than a year-long 200-hour course.
– I didn’t want it to be too spiritual, and they respected that by giving us introductions without pressuring us into things like chanting. It was really nice.
– And lastly, I wanted to gain a better understanding of myself, which I definitely achieved!
I feel incredibly grateful for all the knowledge I have gained.

August 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThe chefs made the food with love, but it simply didn’t meet the standard. They didn’t offer fresh juices or much fresh fruit, and the meals in general weren’t great. The menu had too much processed soya and not enough variety of vegetables, so it wasn’t very balanced. Adding a little creativity to the menu would have made all the difference.
The instructors were amazing, and you couldn’t ask for a better location.

July 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI didn’t really like Gourrav, he was the only instructor I had a problem with. He tries hard and means well, but his communication skills are seriously lacking. I don’t know if he can’t articulate his thoughts properly or if he just isn’t good at speaking. His Pranayam and vinyassa classes really got on my nerves because he kept repeating the same words over and over. It was disappointing when he graded our final practical exams instead of Himanshu, because his feedback was terrible and didn’t reflect the actual class. He’s definitely not on the same level as the other instructors at Yoga Union!
I also didn’t find the workshops on children’s yoga and prenatal yoga very helpful. Itta, the teacher, is a nice person but not a good instructor. Her classes had no structure and it felt like she was just making things up as she went along. I would have preferred to learn more about yogic philosophy or have a guest speaker talk about ayurvedic principles or yogic diets. We had chapters in our textbook that we didn’t even cover!
Overall, I’m really grateful for this experience. The teachers were passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging. They taught us a lot about yogic philosophy, history, anatomy, and how to teach yoga effectively. The shala was beautiful and I actually liked the large class size. We had two classes happening at the same time and we all ate meals together, so there were always new people to meet. The Fire shala had a nicer space though, so I suggest asking to be put in that group. Everyone at YogaUnion, from the housekeepers to the cooks, were amazing. They were thoughtful, generous, and kind. The rice fields were a stunning backdrop for our practice. And let’s not forget the food – it was incredible! A perfect mix of Indonesian and international dishes. Being vegan, I couldn’t have been happier with the options.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amThe food could have had more variety. We kept having the same 5 or 6 recipes over and over again, and they were often too salty or too sweet for my liking. But not everyone felt the same way ? It’s just a matter of taste, I suppose. Before I booked the training, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from former students and I was a bit skeptical. It sounded too good to be true. But this training has completely changed my life. I wasn’t completely sure if I wanted to be a yoga teacher before, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else. Yoga makes me happier and more connected to my true self than anything else.
Helpful ReviewWe were so lucky to have formed such a close-knit group of students, with such beautiful and kind people. Everyone genuinely cared about each other from day one. We spent these three weeks in a loving and supportive environment where we could fully dedicate ourselves to our practice. I’ve made friends for life, and I feel incredibly fortunate!
Now, let me tell you about the teachers (Rachel and Ippoliti, also known as Ippo or Ippopo or Chop Chop). They exceeded my expectations and I will remember their teaching and their personalities forever, no doubt. They didn’t just teach us what we needed to know for the exam, they also shared their experiences as yogis and as human beings, and they inspired me in so many ways.
Before the training, I had only been introduced to asana and pranayama. But learning about philosophy, anatomy, and alignment has helped me deepen my practice so much more. It feels like I have a vast ocean of knowledge about yoga in front of me, and a lifetime won’t be enough to learn even half of it.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Kostas and his family, who also made this training special. I feel so much love.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amSometimes, we experienced organizational hiccups, with communication about transportation and scheduling being a bit disorganized or delayed. We relied solely on WhatsApp for communication, so if you weren’t on it, you might miss out on important information.
It wasn’t mentioned during booking that some people would be living off-campus. If I had known this, I wouldn’t have wanted to take the course.
In my opinion, there were moments when more attention should have been paid to the physical well-being of the students. Not everyone was prepared for all the poses we attempted, which led to minor injuries.
During my stay, there were about 40 students divided into two groups. Mine had 21 students, but apparently, some months the groups can be as large as 35. I thought our group size was okay, but it definitely shouldn’t have been any bigger.
Personally, I would have liked a more in-depth education on anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology, and especially philosophy. It’s important to note that this course only serves as an introduction to these topics. The experiences varied greatly between the two groups due to the teachers’ personal styles and teaching methodologies. In summary, I believe there should have been more alignment between the teachers.
Having said all that, I had a fantastic experience and would do it again! The curriculum was quite comprehensive, covering anatomy, philosophy, alignment, and of course, practicing yoga. I enjoyed the holistic approach. Theoretical lessons were often taught with everyone sitting on the floor, which was tiring initially. The combination of theory and practice provided the perfect opportunity to explore and delve deeper into the concepts.
The quality of the teachers was good and everyone appreciated them. However, it was a surprise to find out who would be teaching each month as their names weren’t disclosed when booking.
The staff at Kosta Maria hotel were incredibly kind and accommodating. They were always ready to help and had a great sense of humor. You really made this experience special! The food was delicious, the meal times were regular, and the cleanliness was top-notch. Plus, my room had a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Lastly, I was amazed by the other students. They were caring, kind, and always friendly. It was a pleasure to be around this community, and they were always there to lend a hand when needed.

July 26, 2022 at 12:00 amThe training is amazing! The teachers are incredible and they really know what they’re doing. They organize everything perfectly and are always there for us if we need anything. Plus, the view of the sea during the courses is just breathtaking. And let’s not forget about the comfortable beds and the air conditioning in the rooms. The hotel staff is so lovely, they treat us like family. And the porridge… oh my goodness, it’s absolutely delicious. Thank you for everything, this has been the most incredible experience of my life!

July 26, 2022 at 12:00 amThe training wasn’t really about the teachers or the curriculum, but more about the people in my group who signed up for it. A lot of them were judgmental and closed-minded Westerners who only saw yoga as a workout and ignored the spiritual aspect. They weren’t accepting of others and there was a lot of cliques and gossip. I wish we had all been more inclusive and treated everyone equally in a big group. I didn’t really enjoy it, but I managed to focus and get through it. I also think there were too many people in the Fire group, and it would have been better to know in advance that there would be over 30 people in one group. Moreover, only the same dominant people kept asking questions during lessons, making it harder for quieter individuals to benefit from the lessons. So, it really depends on your personality; extroverted people may thrive more in this kind of environment. Personally, I didn’t like the food since the vegan option left me feeling hungry as it often lacked sufficient protein. Sometimes, there was no protein offered for either lunch or dinner. However, I must say that the teachers and the training itself were amazing. Even though we only learned how to plan 30-minute lessons, we can apply this knowledge to create 1-hour lessons, but we have to do it on our own time.

July 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThere were too many students for the training, and the philosophy class could have been more systematic. Also, they should have held the Alignment and Anatomy classes in a better location. Oh, and let’s not forget about the food during the training – it was not up to par.

June 28, 2022 at 12:00 amThe entire experience felt militant and lacked the personal and spiritual aspects that were promised in the marketing. However, the owner of the main hotel that provided our daily meals was incredibly kind and accommodating. The food choices were quite limited and definitely needed more variety. We ended up eating off the property most of the time.

June 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI stayed at a different place from the actual accommodation, along with six other students, which was a 5-minute car ride or a 20-minute walk away. It didn’t really bother me to stay somewhere else, except for the fact that our daily pickups to go to the actual accommodation were rarely on time, which sometimes made us late for class.
They advertised it as Vinyasa/Ashtanga training, but in my opinion, it was just Vinyasa training. However, they did cover almost all styles of yoga during the training, including Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Overall, my experience at YogaUnion was amazing. Ippoliti, Rachel, and Eleni, the teachers, were all very knowledgeable and kind! The classes were informative, and the teachers were always available to answer any questions. The staff at the accommodation were also very caring and kind. Plus, the food they served was always delicious! When I wasn’t feeling well, the staff took good care of me, adjusted the food according to my needs, and checked on me every day to see if I was feeling better!

June 5, 2022 at 12:00 amEvery morning, I would walk to the shala through the rice fields, and let me tell you, it felt absolutely magical. The chefs at the place were so great – they made sure to accommodate everyone’s food allergies and their vegan options were seriously delicious. And let me just say, Faye and Himanshu, our instructors, were beyond amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better 200 hour YTT experience with them. The training itself was definitely challenging, but in the best possible way.

June 4, 2022 at 12:00 amI’m so grateful that I chose this YTT. This training has been absolutely perfect, beyond what I could have ever hoped for. It’s still hard to believe that it actually happened.
What I loved the most:
Helpful Review-The location was stunning, with a beautiful shala surrounded by peaceful ricefields. It felt isolated, yet still conveniently close to Ubud city center, which was perfect for food and shopping.
-The teachers, Fay, Himanshu, and Spyros, were all incredible. They really pushed us physically during the vinyasa practice and their sense of humor was essential in motivating us and helping us remember the most important things. It was intense, covering so much in just three weeks, but I had an absolute blast!
-The organization was flawless. Everything was clear and the accommodation and meals were conveniently located very close to the shala.

May 3, 2022 at 12:00 amI’d like to know more about the transportation to Palairos before the course. I booked a really complicated first flight ticket (since it was during the off-season), but then the company provided us with a car to take us from Athens to the school. As a result, I had to cancel my original flight ticket and book a new one. The facility’s service and the food they prepared for us were absolutely delicious. Plus, the yoga anatomy class was the best!

February 25, 2022 at 12:00 amIf you’re thinking about coming during the winter, just remember that Greece can get pretty cold too. So make sure to pack some extra layers and warm clothes.
Anyway, let me tell you about my teacher training experience in Palairos. It was absolutely amazing! Faye, our yoga teacher, is incredible. She’s really great at what she does and teaches in a straightforward way. She’s super clear about what she’s teaching and believes in, and she gives constructive feedback and pushes everyone to be their best.
Laila, another teacher, is a gentle soul with so much knowledge about breath work, meditation, yin, and nidra yoga. She’s also really good at breaking down difficult arm balancing poses. Together, Faye and Laila were the perfect harmony of yin and yang. Oh, and I can’t forget Jonas, our anatomy teacher. I absolutely loved his classes! Jonas has this talent for explaining complex subjects in easily digestible pieces. If you have him for anatomy, you’re in for a treat (just be ready for his dry sense of humor, haha).
I am so grateful to these three for the unforgettable and incredibly informative teacher training. I learned so much!
Let me also tell you about the place we stayed in Palairos called ‘foodpath’. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by mountains. It’s absolutely gorgeous and has that authentic Greek vibe. The food there was so diverse and always made with fresh ingredients. And it tasted amazing! You could really feel the love that Adonis and Elli put into the food. They were always there for anything we needed and took care of everything for us. I can’t thank them enough for opening their house and making it feel like home for us.
Honestly, I would highly recommend coming here for your teacher training. It’s such a wonderful experience.

February 8, 2022 at 12:00 amMaybe the Indoor Shala would have felt a bit cramped with more than 13 people, but other than that, I can’t think of anything negative about this course. Seriously, everything was perfectly planned and everyone gave it their all. Huge thanks to YogaUnion for putting this together! It was truly flawless. There were so many people taking care of us and making sure we had the best experience possible. Faye and Leila were incredible teachers. They challenged us and were always there to lend a hand if we needed help understanding a specific Asana or theory. Jonas’ Anatomy classes were also fantastic! The vibe at the place was incredibly welcoming, and the food was always fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. The Hostel itself was beautiful and just a short 5-minute walk from the stunning sea. We were a group of 13, and I’m pretty certain that every single one of us had an incredible time and learned so much. I didn’t come to Greece with many expectations, but if I did, they would have been completely exceeded.

January 4, 2022 at 12:00 amIt’s not fair for the others that some people were given a single room instead of a double room at the same price. Also, the break during the day was sometimes a bit short on time. But overall, I really loved the program. July 28, 2021 at 12:00 amI have to say, the staff at this yoga teacher training were always there for us when we needed them, and they really went above and beyond to find solutions for any issues that came up. They were amazing 🙂
Let me tell you, this yoga teacher training was absolutely incredible! Ippoliti and Rachel, our teachers, were both so fantastic and really complemented each other. They taught us so much about the theory and practice of yoga. And I can’t even begin to explain how much my meditation skills have improved!
Now, the chef at this place is hands down the kindest person I’ve ever met. He always made sure that we liked the food he cooked, and let me tell you, we were beyond excited for every meal. The whole group really connected and we genuinely enjoyed each other’s company.
The hotel we stayed at was nice and simple, and can I just say, the garden was a gem! There were some incredible animals that would come and nap there, which honestly made my stay even better because I absolutely adore animals.
And let’s not forget Palairos, the town where the training took place. It’s such a beautiful place with a relatively untouched beach. We made sure to go for a swim every single day after class, and it was pure bliss.
I have to give a special shoutout to Ippoliti, who was not only incredibly helpful but also so kind. We’re definitely going to miss you, Ippoliti <3

July 13, 2021 at 12:00 amI finally asked and paid for a double room, but to my surprise, I ended up in a triple room. However, despite this issue, the overall experience was great in the end.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, they did not provide any props for Yin Yoga alignments, which was a disappointment. The communication regarding this should be improved so that students can bring their own props. Nonetheless, my experience at YogaUnion was fantastic.
The teachers and instructors were outstanding in terms of their professionalism. They took the time to share their knowledge and experience with humility, responsibility, and precision. But more importantly, they had a beautiful, happy demeanor that made the students and the place feel warm and welcoming.
The food at YogaUnion was incredible. It consisted of balanced meals made with fresh ingredients, including delicious fruits and options for vegetarians and vegans.
The materials provided to help students understand the classes were also exceptionally well-done and amazing.
If you want to become an excellent certified Yoga teacher, this is definitely the place to be.
Thank you to everyone at YogaUnion for an amazing experience. I am sure to come back in the future. Your energy and professionalism are top-notch!

September 22, 2020 at 12:00 amThe accommodation in Greece did not meet our expectations. We had numerous centipedes and other insects in our room every day because the door did not shut properly, leaving a small gap at the bottom. In addition, there was no washing machine or closet available. The promise to clean the rubbish bin in our bathroom every day was not fulfilled, as it only happened once a week. It was particularly frustrating because they asked us to throw our used toilet paper in that bin. Furthermore, the food they prepared was very repetitive, and sometimes there was not enough for all of us. Overall, the teacher training was fantastic! It’s just a shame that the accommodation did not match the same level of quality.

August 25, 2020 at 12:00 amI would have preferred a more regimented mark scheme and feedback form for the final flow. It would have been beneficial to receive two opinions on the final flow instead of just one teacher watching them. It would have been better to receive written feedback with different criteria such as structure, voice, atmosphere, adjustments, and teaching skills. The location was amazing, just five minutes away from the Shala and away from the beach. The teaching quality was outstanding and I learned so much. A big thanks to Faye, who was incredible. Ourania was also an amazing teacher and Spyros was so helpful and kind. The food and accommodation exceeded my expectations. It was honestly one of the best three weeks of my life and I highly recommend doing it, even if you’re not sure about it. Don’t worry about not being good enough because everyone arrives thinking their practice is not strong enough, but it doesn’t matter. March 6, 2020 at 12:00 amI really wanted to give a 100% good review, but our philosophy instructor just didn’t seem confident in the material she was teaching. She spent 2-3 days on the testable stuff and then completely ditched it to make us do exercises where we walked around sniffing flowers and touching rocks. She didn’t encourage questions, stuck to the topic, or make sure everyone had a chance to speak. It was super frustrating because we all needed to pass an exam on really solid information. I personally asked her to focus on the exam material and she basically said there was no way she could cover it in just eight days and defensively asked me how I expected her to do it. It didn’t feel right coming from an instructor. None of us felt prepared for the exam and many of us had to cram for it.
It would’ve been nice if they had given us the manual as a pdf before the training so we could study ahead of time. The recommended books were helpful, but I think they should’ve been required reading so we could all come to the training mentally prepared. The retreat in Bali was a mix of work and fun, so if we had more time to prepare beforehand, it would’ve made the retreat more enjoyable. The alignment classes were amazing. I feel lucky to have learned from Himanshu. He’s a dedicated, lively, and technical instructor. He knows a lot and loves teaching yoga. Himanshu taught our class all the key yoga alignments and gave us practical knowledge. He really pushed me and the whole class to do our best. Throughout the 23 days with him, my strength, endurance, and flexibility improved a ton. I even managed to do new poses I’d never tried before. We started teaching right away, so I felt fully prepared for my final demonstration. He built everything up slowly and carefully. Himanshu is also great at guiding his students through more subtle things like breathwork. By the end of the course, I could go deeper in my meditation and pranayama. He truly prepared me to be a better yoga practitioner.

The yoga practice was amazing and the teachers were very thorough. My favorite part was the alignment classes where we spent 2 hours every day analyzing each and every posture. It was a great opportunity for discussion, demonstration, and practice.
Try to book early and ask to join the rice fields group if there are still spots available.
I’m so grateful to have met all these wonderful people, especially Ourania who organized everything. Her energy and kindness are indescribable.
Sincerely,

March 3, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food wasn’t the best, but it still tasted good. If you want to surf online, get a simcard because the Wifi was super slow. I learned a lot about postures, body and mind, pushing your limits, Himanshu’s mindset and passion, and the mix of workshops and friendly people. I’m definitely doing the 300h in the future.

March 3, 2020 at 12:00 amI had an amazing time at Yoga Union! The shala in the rice fields was absolutely beautiful. It really felt like I was living in a little smurf village with all my fellow yogis. Plus, the vegan and vegetarian food was absolutely delicious. The teachers there? They were absolutely incredible, I would totally recommend them. Namaste!
