I didn’t get anything. I really wished the course could’ve been longer, giving us more time to discuss and delve deeper into philosophy with a group. The teacher was the highlight for me! They have a genuine teaching style and are incredibly knowledgeable. They patiently answered questions and supported us in a loving way. It’s rare to find a teacher like that.

The Shala and location were fantastic. I loved the people I shared this experience with! The communication and organization were on point. I would definitely recommend this and am excited to come back for YIN YTT level 2.

The place, the classes, the teachers, everything was awesome. I learned a lot about yoga, both in practice and theory. The teachers are really helpful and always there to answer our questions. However, if you don’t speak any English at all, this course is not for you, you need to have a basic understanding. But overall, I highly recommend this training!

The Seminar was amazing! I will never forget this unique experience!

I met so many positive people, enjoyed a beautiful location, amazing food, and had the best teachers!

Himanshu Bahuguna is a GREAT instructor with so much passion for Yoga and teaching! You can feel it every second of the training. It was a gift to train with him in Europe!

Faye Balomenou was amazing! She supported us throughout the training, motivating us to bring out the best in ourselves. Her knowledge in Yoga Philosophy was great, and I had the BEST Yoga Nidra experience ever at the Palairos seminar with Faye!

I 100% recommend it! Do not hesitate to book it! I am already looking forward to the 300h!

    Namaste

The way they taught The Anatomy was all over the place and didn’t really connect well with the yoga poses. They should have discussed that more. Plus, it would have been better if we did the exam right after the lecture for better training. Himanshu did a great job teaching Pranayama, Flow, and alignment.

From day 1, Himanshu and Faye really made this journey unforgettable. They covered everything from practical aspects to theory, providing extra support wherever needed.

Spyros, with his absolute passion for anatomy, made learning easy and fun. And the support from all 3 teachers combined created a truly wholesome training experience.

If you ever feel unprepared or unsure, don’t worry. They will take care of all your concerns.

The sense of family here is amazing – everyone is truly supportive and wants each other to succeed. By the end of the training, you’ll be thrilled to have shared this journey with such incredible people.

And the staff here? They’re incredible. Kind, generous, hard-working – they go above and beyond to make sure we’re comfortable.

In conclusion, if you’re into yoga, this is an experience you won’t regret.

I didn’t expect to get so much out of this training. Faye, Ippoliti, and Spyros, our teachers, are incredibly passionate about yoga and they make learning fun and easy. The staff at Kosta Maria were always there to help with any questions or issues I had. The three weeks of training are intense, but it’s definitely worth it if you want to improve your yoga practice. You’ll learn a ton and push yourself further than you thought possible. Plus, you get to meet amazing people from all over the world and grow together.

I suggest that the groups have different age options. I preferred a group with people aged 30 and above. This training introduced me to yoga in all its beautiful ways. The location, a small family-owned hotel, was a perfect choice. We felt at home in every way. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us like family, always showing us love. Everyone was extremely helpful. When I needed groceries, a staff member named Stella even took me to the market, which was about a 25-minute walk away.

The training was intense both physically and spiritually, and there were moments when we all broke down emotionally. Thankfully, our amazing instructors supported us every step of the way, helping us grow each day. Faye and Ippo, our instructors, were perfect in their own unique ways. Faye’s alignment classes and Ippo’s pranayama classes were truly one of a kind. Though we had less time with our anatomy instructor Sypros, he was also an incredible person with a passion for anatomy that was truly inspiring.

Overall, this was an incredible experience for me personally. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a love for yoga and the dedication and time to commit to it.

I completed my 200h vinyasa teacher training with YogaUnion in June 2023 in Ubud, Bali and it completely changed my life. The experience was incredible! I learned everything I ever wanted to know about yoga from a fantastic group of teachers. Not only did I expand my yoga knowledge, but I also formed strong connections with classmates from all over the globe and discovered a whole new level of self-discovery.

Big shout out to my lead teacher, Himanshu. He’s hands down the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. Himanshu is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to yoga, mastering everything from asanas to pranayama and philosophies. He has a ton of experience working with students of all levels and backgrounds, and his passion for teaching shines through in every class. Himanshu goes above and beyond to support his students and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

And I’m not the only one who feels this way! Many of my classmates share my admiration for Himanshu. He truly is the heart and soul of this training. We need more teachers like him in the world!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got out of this 200 hour Vinyasa YTT in Paleros. Faye Balomenou teaches with a contagious passion for yoga and she shares all her knowledge with us. Her alignment classes are detailed and precise, showing her experience and confidence as a teacher. The practices were intense and really pushed us to do our best. Eleni Chantzara’s teachings on Pranayama and other workshops were thoughtful and valuable, complementing Faye’s style perfectly. She brings a gentle energy to the practice. Spyros Kapitsinos’ anatomy classes were fascinating and kept us engaged, even after long days. He really knows his stuff and helps us understand how our anatomy relates to our yoga practice. The hotel is situated in a stunning location just a short walk from Paleros town, with its own private beach and a pool. The views of the sea and mountains are breathtaking, adding to the great atmosphere of the Shala’s for practicing. The hotel staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the food is fresh and tasty (though some dishes may be a bit heavy for some). Overall, I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice!

The food at the training was delicious, but here are a few recommendations: Add some variety to the cereal and fruit options for breakfast, personally, I would prefer the porridge to be a bit thicker rather than soupy, and it might be nice to switch up the stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes with another dish 😉 This yoga teacher training far exceeded my expectations. The teachers were amazing – they shared their knowledge with such dedication and passion that you can really feel the essence of yoga permeating your body, mind, and soul. It’s a truly wonderful feeling. I came back home feeling completely myself and inspired to deepen my practice and start teaching others, which I never expected after just three weeks. Of course, the journey to this point had its ups and downs, but being pushed to our limits helped us realize our own capabilities and truly blossom, just like every woman in the group did. Fay is like a diamond, with many different sides to her teaching style – she can be tough when necessary, but also knows how to make us laugh. Eleni is a gentle soul who makes breathing and meditating seem so appealing and easy to understand, and her flows were both challenging and enjoyable. Spyros made anatomy class surprisingly engaging and easy to remember with lots of humor. The KostaMaria Family and staff were fantastic – the food was delicious, the rooms were clean, and best of all, you only had to take 106 steps to reach crystal clear waters with a breathtaking view. Don’t miss out!

I recommend bringing your own yoga mat or a travel version to use on top of the existing mats. The training took place in the Earth shala of YogaUnion in the rice fields of Ubud. My accommodation was right next to the shala (just 2 meters away). There wasn’t a pool on site, but you could use the pools at other places where some of the other participants stayed.

The restaurant where we ate for every meal was just a 3 minute walk away. There are some great spas and cafes in the area, with something different to try each day. Not every meal may suit everyone’s taste, but there will always be something in the buffet that you’ll enjoy.

My main teacher, Gourav, is incredibly knowledgeable about yoga, pranayama, and aligning the asanas. He will prepare you well for becoming a yoga teacher. Menik, our anatomy teacher, deserves a special mention for being an amazing teacher who could answer all of our questions and connect anatomy with yoga poses.

Laila, our philosophy teacher, has a unique energy and a soothing voice. She also offers a 50-hour yin yoga teacher training. We had a variety of yoga classes like yin, restorative, acro, ashtanga, nidra, but focused mainly on vinyasa. The classes were intermediate level, but you’ll learn and progress each day.

Our group consisted of 19 lovely participants who made the training enjoyable and truly special. I highly recommend it!

Gustis Garden water Shala was a disappointment. The rooms were filled with mold and my clothes and shoes were ruined. I felt like I paid too much for the accommodation. Luckily, I had my own yoga mat with me because the ones there were dirty and stained. The Wi-Fi was horribly slow.

But the training was absolutely amazing. I found a second family at YogaUnion. Himanshu Bahuguna was a fantastic mentor and trainer. I am now a certified Yoga Teacher, thanks to his guidance. The experience was truly life-changing.

I highly recommend YogaUnion for anyone looking to do their YTT. The staff is professional, kind, and open-minded. I learned so much during my time there and can’t wait to attend the 300h YTT next year. Thank you, YogaUnion, for everything. See you soon!

Unfortunately, I experienced some uncomfortable moments at the location. The place didn’t match the videos and photos I had been looking at for the past 5 years, especially the rice fields. I thought it was a new venue, but it wasn’t clear that there were actually 3 different venues used when the first one is fully booked.

It would be nice in the future if they could inform us about the different venues so we can choose the one we prefer, like the rice fields instead of the down rabbit hole. I also had a privacy issue with the neighbor, but thankfully Ourania, the owner of Yoga Union, handled it well and is making sure it doesn’t happen again in the future.

Aside from that, the place is nice, the bedrooms are new, and the staff are very kind, especially the instructors. They were all knowledgeable and had a great attitude, always available to answer questions and provide information.

I want to give a big thank you to Marina and Anna Viktoria for their amazing classes filled with kindness, love, and enthusiasm. You’ll always have a special place in my heart. And to Gourav, Laila, and Menik, thank you for being such high-level teachers and making the experience truly memorable. Menik, your enthusiasm for anatomy made us all love fascia and tendons, haha!

Mixing with people of varying levels of yoga experience may mean that those who are more advanced may not get as much out of the training, as instructors are required to slow down their teaching. However, this could be a common issue in other Yoga Teacher Training programs as well.

I don’t see the point of sessions like Kriya & Cacao ceremony. I prefer workshops that focus on skills that will actually make a difference in my practice and teaching. I appreciate having knowledgeable and patient instructors. The accommodations, meals, and staff are all excellent. The yoga workshops provided are top-notch. The location, close to Ubud center, is perfect. The shala is intimate, clean, and well-maintained.

The Teacher Training surpassed my expectations. Being fairly new to Yoga, I have to admit, the tight and packed schedule could be quite challenging at times. But it was amazing to see how I gradually grew in my yoga practice and also on a personal level. I found that Yoga is so much more than physical exercise as I started to implement the Yogic lifestyle in my daily life off the mat through our Philosophy classes. My accommodation in the rice fields was wonderful and clean, just a few minutes from the shala where students were spread out in guest houses among the rice fields. The food provided at the restaurant was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to delve deeper into Yoga, even if you don’t plan to become a teacher at the end of the journey.

In a place like those rice fields, everything feels right. Surrounded by nature with huge green leaves, wonderful weather, and cute noises from frogs, geckos, birds, and water, it sounds like a perfect nature soundtrack.

The shala where we practiced always took good care and kept clean. They organized every meal well (I’m celiac and they always made sure to accommodate me) and also had a well-planned training schedule. It feels like a safe, cozy, and professional place.

The course didn’t meet my expectations. We were promised a different yoga teacher, including Himanshu, but we didn’t get it. I signed up for various styles like Ashtanga and Vinyasa, but didn’t receive instruction on Tantra yoga, Yin yoga, pregnancy yoga, except for a one-time class. We weren’t fully educated on the different styles to teach in our own practice. The course focused on asana and the mind but lacked soul and leadership skills. We had a tough group that was opinionated and rude at times, with people falling asleep, using phones during class, and lacking focus. There wasn’t a real leader to control this behavior. It seemed like a trial course for a potential 300-hour certification. I would have appreciated knowing this before booking and if the price was lower. The accommodation, food, and teachers were satisfactory.

The groups were way too big. There were about 30 students in each of the two groups. I wish the groups were smaller so we could connect better with our teacher and get more personalized help. The yoga teachers, Faye, Eleni, Alex, and Ippo, were amazing. They had a lot of knowledge and were always there for us. Angela was also great, spreading love and good vibes. The Kosta Maria staff was so lovely, taking care of each of us. Cooking for so many people with different allergies and dietary preferences is not easy, but they did a great job with fresh and tasty food. Great job!

I didn’t like philosophy classes at all and I wasn’t thrilled about the alignment methodology either. I also didn’t like that they sold a course for 30 people and then ended up with 2 groups of 30 people at the same time. It was overwhelming and I think smaller groups create a different atmosphere. I liked the opportunity to visit another country and the amazing beaches. The quality of the vinyasa classes was excellent but the learning methodology left something to be desired at times. The food was delicious and local, which I wasn’t expecting; it surprised me but I liked it. What I loved the most was the group of people.

I have a few small critiques about the course, but overall I really liked it and my time there. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to leave the hotel, but that’s mainly because of the infrastructure in Palairos. The food was good and they accommodated lactose-free/vegan diets, but the labeling and choices were sometimes a bit strange, so they just need to practice more and offer a greater variety of dishes. I would have liked to practice our own sequences more, but I understand there wasn’t much time for it since we had so much to learn in such a short time. I wish the course was a few days longer and that the teachers spent less time on exams and more time on our personal flows, but probably not possible in real life (the other 200h courses I looked at were even shorter!). Not everything was well-planned and we didn’t always receive information or received it late, but everything ended up working out. Thanks for a wonderful experience! I was thrilled to begin this yoga journey. The course was intense and I learned a lot, just as I expected. I adored the friendly staff at Kosta Maria and the stunning location. I had many expectations that were met:
    – I hoped for physically demanding training > it definitely was!
    – I wanted to learn a holistic view of yoga > there was a good mix of perspectives on yoga.
    – I expected intensity/focus > it was quite mentally challenging, but I’m glad I did it rather than the year-long 200h course.
    – I didn’t want it to be too spiritual > they introduced us to the spiritual world but didn’t push us into it, like chanting, which was really nice.
    – I wanted to understand myself better > and I really do! I’m incredibly grateful for all the knowledge I’ve gained.

The chefs made the food with love, but it just didn’t meet the standard. They didn’t have fresh juices or much fresh fruit, and the meals in general were lackluster. The menu had too much processed soy and not enough vegetable variety, resulting in an unbalanced meal. Adding some creativity to the menu could have made all the difference.
The instructors were phenomenal, and you can’t beat the location.

I didn’t like Gourrav, he was the only instructor that rubbed me the wrong way. He tries hard and means well, but his communication skills are seriously lacking. I don’t know if he’s just not a good talker or his thoughts get lost in translation. His Pranayam and Vinyassa classes drove me crazy with his repetitive vocabulary. It was disappointing when he graded our final exams instead of Himanshu, his feedback was way off the mark. He’s just not on the same level as the other instructors at Yoga Union!

The workshops on children’s yoga and prenatal yoga with Itta were not very helpful. She’s a nice person, but not a great teacher. The classes had no structure and felt scattered. I would’ve rather learned about yogic philosophy or had an ayurvedic clinician come in to talk about doshas or yogic dietrics.

Despite that, I’m grateful for the experience! The teachers were passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging. I learned a ton about yogic philosophy, history, anatomy, alignment, and teaching structure. The shala was gorgeous, and I loved the big class sizes. Eating meals together was a great way to meet new people. If you can, ask to be put in the Fire group for the prettier space.

Everyone at YogaUnion was so kind – the housekeepers, cleaners, and cooks were all thoughtful and generous. The rice fields were a stunning backdrop for our practice. And the food… oh, the food! A perfect mix of Indonesian and global dishes that made this vegan incredibly happy.

Organisational hiccups sometimes happened. Communication about transport or scheduling could be a bit disorganised or late. Some information only spread through word-of-mouth within the group. We only used WhatsApp for communication, so if you weren’t on it, you might miss out on important info.

Some people weren’t told that they would be living off-campus when booking. Personally, if I had to live off-campus, I wouldn’t have wanted to take the course.

In my opinion, there were times when more attention should have been paid to students’ physical conditions. Not everyone was prepared for all the poses we tried, leading to some minor injuries.

During my stay, there were about 40 students split into two groups, with mine having 21 students. However, I heard that groups could be as big as 35 students in some months. My group size was okay, but it definitely shouldn’t have been any larger.

I would have liked a more thorough education in anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology, and philosophy. This course was just an introduction to these topics. Experiences varied between groups, largely due to the personal styles and teaching methods of the instructors. Overall, I expected better alignment between the teachers.

That being said, I had a great experience and would do it again! The curriculum covered anatomy, philosophy, alignment, and actual yoga practice. I appreciated the holistic approach. The theoretical lessons had us all sitting on the floor, which was tiring at first. The balance of theory and practice allowed for a deep dive into the concepts.

The quality of teachers was good all around. However, we didn’t know who would be teaching until we arrived, so it was a bit of a surprise.

The hotel staff at Kosta Maria were incredibly kind and accommodating. Always willing to help and easy to share a laugh with. They made the experience special. The food, meal times, and cleanliness were top-notch. My room had a stunning view over the ocean.

Lastly, the other students were amazing. They were caring, friendly, and a joy to be around. This community made everything so enjoyable and was always there to offer help when needed.

The food could’ve used more variety. It started feeling like we were eating the same 5 or 6 recipes over and over. And sometimes, the food was just too salty or too sweet for my taste. But hey, not everyone felt the same way I guess it’s all just a matter of preference. Before signing up for the training, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from past students and I was pretty skeptical. It all sounded too good to be true. But let me tell you, this training was truly life-changing. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to be a yoga teacher before, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else. Yoga just fills my heart with joy and keeps me connected to my true self like nothing else can. We were so fortunate to have such an amazing group of students who truly cared for each other right from the start. The three weeks we spent together were full of love and support, creating a safe space for all of us to really dive deep into our practice. I’ve made lifelong friends and I feel incredibly grateful for that. And let’s talk about the teachers – Rachel and Ippoliti, aka Ippo or Ippopo or Chop Chop – they were absolutely incredible. Their teachings and personalities will stay with me forever. They didn’t just give us the knowledge we needed for the exam, they also shared their wisdom as yogis and as human beings, inspiring me in so many ways. Before this training, I only really knew about asanas and pranayama. But diving into philosophy, anatomy, and alignment has taken my practice to a whole new level. I feel like I have a vast ocean of yoga knowledge ahead of me, and a lifetime wouldn’t be enough to learn it all. A big thank you to Kostas and his family for making this training extra special! Love and gratitude to all.

I didn’t enjoy the training, mainly because of the people in my group. A lot of them were judgmental and close-minded, only seeing yoga as a workout and ignoring the spiritual aspect. They formed little groups and gossiped a lot. I wish we had been more accepting and treated everyone equally. I was able to tune out the negativity, but it was tough. Also, the Fire group had too many people – over 30 in one group! The same loud people were always asking questions, making it hard for quieter folks to participate. The vegan food left me hungry, lacking in protein. Some meals had no protein at all! The teachers and the training were great, but we only learned how to plan 30-minute lessons. We have to figure out 1-hour lessons on our own time.

7 out of 30 students, including myself, stayed at a different place rather than the actual accommodation. It was a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk away. I didn’t mind staying elsewhere, but it was frustrating when our daily pickups to the main accommodation were often late, causing us to be tardy for class.

The program was marketed as Vinyasa/Ashtanga training, but I felt it focused mainly on Vinyasa. However, they did incorporate various styles like Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Overall, my time at YogaUnion was fantastic. The teachers – Ippoliti, Rachel, and Eleni – were incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The classes were informative, and the teachers were always available for questions.

The accommodation staff were also caring and kind. The food they served was always delicious. When I wasn’t feeling well, they took special care of me, adjusted the meals for me, and checked on my well-being daily.

If you’re planning to visit during the winter, just remember that Greece can get pretty cold too. Be sure to pack some extra layers and warm clothes. Now, let me tell you about my experience with teacher training in Palairos.

Faye is a yoga powerhouse who teaches in a straightforward, clear manner. She gives great feedback and motivates everyone to reach their full potential. Laila, on the other hand, is a gentle soul with extensive knowledge in breath work, meditation, yin and nidra yoga, as well as breaking down tough arm balancing poses. Together, they created a perfect balance. And Jonas, our anatomy teacher, was amazing at explaining complex topics in easy-to-understand ways. His classes were a delight, with a touch of dry humour!

Thanks to these three, I had a memorable and enriching experience. The accommodation at ‘foodpath’ in Palairos was only a short walk from the beach and surrounded by beautiful mountains – a truly authentic Greek setting. The food, prepared with fresh ingredients, was diverse and always delicious. Adonis and Elli poured love into every dish and were always there for us. Thank you for making us feel at home.

I highly recommend this teacher training – you won’t regret it!

Faye and Leila are fantastic teachers who pushed us to our limits while always being there to help when needed. Jonas’ Anatomy classes were excellent too! The atmosphere was friendly, the fresh and tasty food had a great variety, and the Hostel was beautiful and just a short walk from the stunning sea. We had numerous centipedes and other insects in our room every day because the door didn’t shut properly, leaving a small gap at the bottom. There was no washing machine or closet for us. They didn’t clean the rubbish bin in our bathroom daily as promised; it only happened once a week. They also asked us to throw used toilet paper in that bin. Our philosophy instructor didn’t feel confident about the material she was teaching, so she spent 2-3 days on the testable material and then abandoned it completely to make us do exercises where we wandered around the premises smelling flowers and touching rocks. She discouraged too many questions, couldn’t stay on topic, and allowed some people to speak more than others. It was extremely frustrating because we were all supposed to pass an exam on very concrete information. When I personally asked her to focus on the exam material, she told me there was no way to cover it in only eight days and defensively asked me how I expected her to do that. I didn’t feel like this was an appropriate attitude from an instructor. No one felt truly prepared when the exam came, and many of us spent a lot of time cramming philosophy.

Getting the manual in pdf format before training would have been nice so that we could have spent time studying in advance. Reading the recommended books definitely helped, but I feel that they should have been mandatory so that we all could have come to training mentally prepared. The retreat in Bali is definitely both work and enjoyment, so if we had more opportunity to put work in in advance, it would have made the retreat easier to just enjoy. Our alignment classes were amazing. I feel honored to have learned alignment from Himanshu. He is a devoted, dynamic and technical instructor. He is both knowledgeable and passionate about teaching yoga. Himanshu was able to teach our class all of the major alignments of yoga positions and gave us practical knowledge of using yoga. Himanshu personally pushed me to new limits and he wasn’t afraid to demand the best of our entire class. During my 23 day course with him my strength, stamina, and flexibility all improved dramatically. I was able to do new poses I had never tried before. We started teaching immediately, so this helped me feel fully prepared for my final demo. We built up everything slowly and methodically. Himanshu is also excellent at guiding his students through more subtle things like breathwork. I found at the end of my course I was able to go deeper into my meditation and pranayama. He truly equipped me to be a better yoga practitioner.

I honestly enjoyed everything. If you have any reservations, just let them all go!

The people, the location, the practice, the atmosphere… I don’t even know where to start. If you’re looking for a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, YogaUnion offers a complete experience. Do yourself a favor and book with them.

Before booking, I did a lot of research and visited multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings in Bali. Nothing compares to what YogaUnion has to offer.

The yoga practice was excellent and the teachers were very thorough. I especially loved the alignment classes where we spent 2 hours every day analyzing each posture – it was a great opportunity for discussion, demonstration, and practice.

Try to book early and ask to join the rice fields group if there’s still availability.

I’m grateful to have met all these amazing people, especially Ourania who organized everything – her energy and kindness are indescribable.

    Sincerely,
    Dimitris

The food variety wasn’t the best, but it still tasted good. If you want to surf online, get a sim card because the Wifi was really slow. I learned a lot about postures, body and mind, motivation, mindset, and passion from Himanshu during the total course. The workshops were a great mix, and the people were all friendly. I plan on doing the 300h in the future.

The programs were intense but also relaxing because we stayed in a 5-star hotel in Ubud. All the teachers were passionate and genuine. They shared their energy and knowledge with us, and we are grateful for it. The value you get is much more than the price you pay. Don’t hesitate, just go for it and become part of the family!

I absolutely loved the whole experience once again. The rice fields took my breath away. I honestly can’t think of anything I didn’t enjoy. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, it really made us feel open, vulnerable, free, and receptive. The kitchen staff worked tirelessly to make sure we had everything we needed, even when some of us got sick–they would bring us rice wherever we were staying. The classes were absolutely amazing. Celine is a warrior goddess with the most empowering and invigorating flows. The location in the rice fields was absolutely stunning and really helped us focus on being present in the moment. I already want to go back, even though I just got home! I would definitely go back again and again. Thank you so much for this incredible experience.

After a while, I felt like the food was always the same. But I get it, coming up with different meals for three weeks straight isn’t easy. This YTT200 course totally exceeded my expectations. The instructors are the real deal – they’re fun, genuine, hardworking, and always ready to help you out. You’ll never be bored, even though the schedule is packed. By the end, you’ll be wanting more, achieving more – they’ll have you feeling on top of the world (and without any drugs! Haha). I learned so much during this training, it was an unforgettable experience. I feel so lucky to have been part of this group. Thank you, YogaUnion!! ♡

The food at the Mansion was the only disappointing part of the training for me. As a long-time vegan, I found the protein and complex carbohydrate options to be very limited. It was tough for us students who were studying and doing strenuous yoga all day. The lack of variety made it feel repetitive after being there for three weeks. YogaUnion did try to work with the Mansion Hotel to improve the situation, so hopefully future trainings will have better food options.

But aside from that, I absolutely loved the 200 YTT with YogaUnion! The teachers were all so passionate and knowledgeable. I felt like I was getting top-notch yoga education. Nikol, our main teacher, is such an inspiration. Whether she was teaching asana alignment or leading a vinyasa flow, her energy was infectious. She is truly dedicated and has a kind soul. We all learned a ton from her.

The food made about fifteen people sick.
During the last week, students give classes for evaluations, but we chose to spend our budget on yoga classes with qualified teachers to enhance our learning experience.
To get corrections, you need to call the teachers, they won’t come on their own.
I was clearly told that if I didn’t pay by the afternoon, I would have to leave immediately.
Make sure you really understand English well, even though the website says it’s accessible to everyone!
The graduation ceremony is very minimal. It’s been a beautiful and enriching adventure.
    The setting is gorgeous.
    The training is intense.
    You’ll meet wonderful people.
You’ll learn a lot about yoga and yourself.
The teachers are passionate and skilled.
There’s a free shuttle to town.

After the third week, the food started to get a bit repetitive but it was still tasty.

During classes, the teachers should ask anyone from the retreat to show the “example”, no matter the student’s level, instead of always picking the most flexible/strongest yogi. This way, everyone can see how the teacher corrects or leads the student into the asana. We are more likely to teach beginner/intermediate students than someone who already knows everything. Yoga isn’t about comparison. Some yogis were disappointed to always see the same advanced student showing the asana.

I hope this won’t happen in future retreats, but I still had a great time and highly recommend it! The location in the middle of the rice fields is wonderful! The shala and restaurant were amazing, and breakfast was the highlight with lots of fruits, muesli, homemade coconut yogurt, and sometimes pancakes and French toast. Everyone was really nice, and I had an incredible time. It was a life-changing experience! Plus, it was cheaper than other organizations and still incredible.

I’m not picky when it comes to food, but it was really bad, the same dishes all the time. The food is vegetarian but not healthy.
If you’re not good at English, I strongly advise against signing up for this course. There is a lot of theory and philosophy. It’s important to understand everything for the rest of your training. Personally, I don’t speak English well and I don’t understand it very well either. I tried the experience but it was very difficult because I had to do a double job (translate my manuals into French).

I would advise arriving at least 2 days early to get over jet lag and adjust to the weather. It will help you make the most of your time here. And if you can, stay for at least a week after the course ends so you can explore the island, Gili, or Nusa Penida. The course is intense, and you’ll have 2 Sundays off to relax and recharge.

The teachers were amazing when it came to asana, anatomy, and philosophy. I learned so much and know that it will stick with me because they were so passionate and caring. Aaka taught philosophy and Spyros taught anatomy. Nikol and Himanshu led strong daily asana and vinyasa classes.

The accommodation at Mansion Resort was like something out of a honeymoon dream! I splurged on my own double room, and it was totally worth it. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were cleaned daily. The Shalas, where we practiced yoga and had classes, were absolutely beautiful.

Just a heads up, you won’t be staying in town, but there’s a free shuttle that runs a few times a day. You can also take a taxi for £8 each way or rent a scooter nearby.

The food was good, and as a vegetarian, I was happy to see that everything was meat-free. My only wish was for a coffee supply in the afternoon, but the cafe did serve iced coffee for £3.50.

I wish we had more moments of silence during the training so we could really dive deep into our inner yogic journey. The training felt a bit superficial, like just passing on information. I think it would be helpful to have a few silent days at the beginning or maybe every morning until after breakfast. This would give us time to meditate, practice pranayama, and focus on our asanas. It would help us understand the essence of yoga, rather than just seeing it as a workout at the gym. Himanshu, our teacher, did a great job of making classes fun while also challenging us to do our best. He shared his wisdom in a way that allowed us to take what resonated with us. I’m grateful for the other teachers too, they were all amazing and I feel lucky to have learned from them.

Thank you Yoga Union for the best experience. I didn’t believe it was possible to learn and progress so much and have a life-altering experience in such a short time when I read the reviews beforehand, but it was all true. Spyros, Ourania, Himanshu, Celine, and Sirios were so dedicated and gave so much energy and passion throughout the three weeks. They answered our endless questions every time as if it was the first and really pushed us to step outside our comfort zone. Every time you thought you had given your all, they wouldn’t let you give up…thanks Himanshu! I wished we had started with an introduction for all participants at the beginning, like some little games or activities to help us learn everyone’s name!

In anatomy class, we learned that you can build strength quickly, but tendons and ligaments need more time to catch up. I wish the teachers had reminded us to slow down and listen to our bodies, instead of pushing us to show off the best version of each pose. It’s not sustainable in a 3-week intensive training, and more than half of the class ended up with injuries. I wish there had been more adaptability on some days.

I was disappointed that there weren’t more adjustments and information for beginners, especially since the Yoga Union YTT was supposed to be for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

In the philosophy class, I would have preferred a more basic introduction before diving into deep discussions. It was especially difficult for non-native English speakers to keep up, and I don’t feel like I got a good grasp of yoga philosophy due to the disorganized approach to the topics.

Despite these issues, I loved the atmosphere created by the teachers, trainees, and Karmayogis. The schedule, food (although more fruit variety would be great), and location were all wonderful. I appreciated the boot camp style structure of the training, the focus on alignment, and the early teaching opportunities. The international mix of trainees, as well as special events like the cacao ceremony and silent walk, added to the unique experience. The dedication and passion of each teacher was evident and inspiring.

The food lacked variety and flavor, but we made efforts to improve it towards the end and noticed a difference late in the last week.

Knowledgeable teachers will guide you in an immersive and accessible environment that stimulates personal growth and deeper understanding of the yogic way of life.

The schedule is grueling and intense because this program is not a relaxing retreat. It’s meant to prepare experienced practitioners for guiding yogis through flows and promoting a more mindful practice in the future.

Just a friendly reminder to all students about the etiquette of mat arrangement, as sometimes things get a bit crowded at the entrance of the shala. But I absolutely love Nikol’s sweaty and fast-paced Vinyasa classes!

I really appreciate the fact that the shala and bedrooms are all under one roof here at The Mansion. It’s so nice not to have the stress of commuting back and forth.

During the training, I learned so much about asana and human anatomy, subjects I’ve always been interested in but never knew much about. It’s been a really enlightening experience.

I didn’t really enjoy the philosophy classes, mainly because we didn’t have much time to discuss key yoga concepts critically. However, I did like how the teachers made an effort to review main terms and concepts with us, even if it was just for exams. I believe future yoga teachers should be able to do more than just memorize concepts like chakras, doshas, and gunas – they should also be able to analyze yoga philosophy. Unfortunately, that kind of discussion was lacking in the philosophy classes, or it didn’t feel safe to bring up those issues.

The food didn’t excite me after two weeks.

Despite these minor issues, my overall experience at the retreat far exceeded my expectations! It was such a wonderful and unique experience. It’s hard to leave after spending three weeks in this amazing environment. Spyros and Ourania have created a loving, caring, and nurturing space for yogis and future teachers. They are truly inspiring. Himanshu, who led our morning asana practices, was also fantastic. His passion for yoga and teaching style helped me push my limits and grow stronger each week. I learned so much from all of them, as each teacher brought their own unique personality to the Shala. Staying in the rice fields felt like being on another planet – I loved every minute of it! I found the food to be repetitive. Some people stayed in a mansion resort while others stayed in the rice fields. The variety in accommodations wasn’t made clear to me. I wish they had talked more about spirituality and ‘self development,’ but overall, it was a life-changing experience. These small complaints don’t compare to how incredible it was.

The group was usually around 30 people, but we became like family. If you prefer smaller groups, this might not be the retreat for you. I read every review and they all said the food is repetitive and standard. Honestly, you don’t need too much variety with the physical stress you put your body through every day. It was perfect for what my body needed after two hours of daily vinyasa. I’m so glad I chose this course. I looked at thousands in different countries and this one exceeded my expectations by far. It was really tough. They suggest reading a few books before you come. I did and you should too. They recommend having a yoga routine beforehand. I did a little bit but three weeks wasn’t enough. It’s a lot of information to take in. But once you do it, it’s so rewarding. The group I was with was amazing. We became like a family and it was beautiful. We laughed, we cried, and I even got some bruises… but it was all worth it. For the super affordable price, it’s more than you’d expect. Nikki was an incredible instructor. I loved everything about the training. I wish I could have seen and experienced the main union yoga shala in the ricefields, but being in the mansion resort group didn’t allow for it. The closing ceremony is nicer and more authentic there, in my opinion. The resort could get noisy at times, since our shala was near the pool area, which wasn’t ideal for certain classes. But overall, the resort is very nice! The teachers are amazing. They cover everything you need to know about Asanas, alignment, variation, and the benefits with care and commitment to yoga. It’s tough but caring love they share with all the students. I’m grateful to Nikole for putting in the effort, patience, and care into teaching us. Spiros and Ourania are wonderful as well and help build a great yoga community here. Taking in all the information in three weeks can be overwhelming, so remember to rest and clear your mind between classes to absorb it all again for the exam. The teaching structure starts immediately, allowing you to build your flow step by step and teach each other. It’s an intense, physical, mental, and emotional but amazing experience where people grow into a yogi family. I will always be thankful for doing this! Namaste.

I wish there had been more protein in our lunch and dinner meals. The philosophy classes could have been more engaging, even though the teacher was inspiring. The asana practice was brilliant and the group was wonderful. The location was amazing and I’ve already recommended it to my friends. It exceeded my expectations. The course had a good variety and the length felt just right.

I had an amazing experience with Yoga Union. The accommodation at The Mansion was super comfy, it’s such a beautiful resort. The course was really informative, and all our teachers gave it their best to teach us everything they could while we were there. The daily Vinyasa practices were life-changing, I felt so much stronger and fitter by the end of the retreat. Overall, it was an incredible experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better course.

The hotel had spotty wifi sometimes, but that’s on the hotel, not YogaUnion. There are cute cafes nearby where you can get great food and fast wifi if you need it! I honestly can’t think of anything negative to say. The team at YogaUnion is fantastic; they’re knowledgeable and present information in an easy-to-understand way. Nikol, Spyros, and Ourania are incredible teachers and people. It felt like family as soon as I got there. The accommodation was beautiful and the schedule was busy but well organized so you don’t get overwhelmed. There was also plenty of free time to explore Ubud, a wonderful town! Choosing this YTT was the best gift I could give myself. I’m leaving feeling confident as a yoga teacher and as a better, more grounded person. The team at YogaUnion has put together an amazing course for their students. If you’re thinking about doing your 200hr training with YogaUnion, do it! You won’t regret it, I promise.

I struggled to understand the instructor. I would have preferred longer classroom or yoga sessions, but classes ended early and we ended up with free time. The anatomy lessons were great – they explained difficult concepts in simple English and with visuals. I really enjoyed that we reviewed the technical details of the morning class right after, like which meridians we focused on.

This course truly worked its magic on me. Situated right in the center of the rice fields, the location was absolutely amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the guest house where I stayed – it exceeded all my expectations. And let’s not forget about the vegetarian food that was served three times a day during the training – it was delicious!

The instructors were top-notch. Himanshu, an incredible yoga teacher, really pushed us to reach our full potential. Ourania and Spyros, who taught alignment and anatomy, were incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic teachers. They provided the clearest instructions and explanations. All three of them were kind, genuine, and compassionate – they made sure each of us were happy, healthy, and able to focus on yoga.

Throughout the course, we got to try multiple styles of yoga such as yin, vinyasa, ashtanga, and hatha. We also practiced various types of pranayama and meditation every morning. The workshops were a game-changer – participants were able to improve their practices almost instantly. People were learning headstands, arm balances, and back bends faster and more safely than ever before.

I can’t recommend this training enough. It has transformed my practice and my life. I really hope to return to beautiful Ubud one day and experience even a small part of it again.

I loved staying in the rice fields! However, I and a few others didn’t realize we had a choice between the fields and the mansion until we got there and the groups were already split. If I can suggest something, it would be great to know about the options when booking. Even though I enjoyed my stay, it might not be the same for everyone, so knowing in advance can keep everyone happy. Coming for a yoga teacher training was the best decision I ever made. If you’re still unsure, just go for it! Bali has a special energy that helps release negative things we carry. Combined with great teachers like Ourania and Himanshu, and the amazing people you meet here, the experience becomes life-changing. It’s a serene place where you can be yourself, with others who support and encourage you. The training is tough, both physically and emotionally, but you’ll have a supportive group to help you through it. You will grow and become better, no matter your reasons for being here. The YogaUnion in Ubud is a perfect place to start.

To my September course group mates, I’m grateful for each of you. You’ve helped me grow and believe in myself more. I hope we’ve done the same for each other. Best of luck to everyone, and a big THANK YOU to our wonderful teachers for sharing your wisdom with us.

I recommend revising the training book to correct mistakes and add missing postures in available spots. The Yoga Union’s ricefield shala is like a dream with every detail surrounding the place being unique. I think our group in Bali was the best, with different classes and the remote location from busy Ubud, the sounds of nature, and the magical atmosphere. The pathway to the shala, the restaurant 308 run by Ayung’s chef Putu & Yoga, fireflies at night, and starry skies all added to the charm.

We were like neighbors in a little village spread across hotels on the pathway, and my hotel, Nirwa Ubud Karma, was very cozy. The owners of Yoga Union, Ourania and Spyros, perfectly embody love and share that with their students, making the training a supportive and loving experience. The whole crew, including Himanshu, Jonas, Saavas, Juan Carlos, Florence, and Pablo, were professional and competent.

Choosing this training to learn to teach Yoga was the best decision, and I couldn’t imagine a better course. Thank you to the teachers and students of the August session for making this experience beautiful and unforgettable.

The Yoga teacher training at YogaUnion was an unforgettable experience. At first, I wasn’t sure if I should do a Yoga training at all. However, the three weeks with my fellow Yogis, the teachers, and the magic of Bali convinced me that it was the right decision. So, for anyone reading this and still debating whether to book a retreat or not, just do it!

The teachers at YogaUnion were all excellent! We had a great variety of personalities and teaching styles, so there was something for everybody to learn from. I always felt like I was in a safe space. The teachers were professional, experienced, patient, and always showed a great understanding for us students. I particularly enjoyed the challenging Vinyasa classes with Savvas and the fascinating anatomy lessons with Jonas. In fact, Jonas made the topic so interesting that I now want to study more about the physical body in the future.

I feel like I didn’t really get 50 hours of Yin training. It felt more like a mix of a retreat and a training course, unlike my intense 50 hour restorative course. While the morning meditation and afternoon Hatha, Vinyasa, or chanting sessions were nice, it just didn’t feel like proper Yin training.

Even though the people were great, I have to admit that the food was pretty terrible 🙁 Vasso did a fantastic job sharing her knowledge of Yin yoga though. The training she provided was top-notch.

The location was amazing – so peaceful and relaxing, the perfect setting for this training course.

I would have preferred more fruit at lunch and dinner.

I also would have liked smaller group sizes, it was overwhelming with 30 people in the final lessons.

Some accommodations lacked amenities like water in the rooms or kettles, it’s luck of the draw. But the shala in the rice fields is truly magical! Ourania, Spyros, and the team have created a paradise. They are so welcoming and make you feel like family.

The instructors were diverse and catered to all levels, from beginner to advanced. I was nervous about teaching in a group but they built my confidence. I’ve already started training clients with ease.

The walk to the shala is unforgettable, I often walked barefoot. The meals were filling and you get ginger lemongrass tea daily.

Make sure to pace yourself in classes and read the training manual daily. Don’t leave it all for the last minute. Listen to your body and take breaks when needed.

I was most disappointed by the lack of communication in the beginning about where my training would be held. They advertised that we would train in the rice field Shala and eat food from a nearby organic restaurant, but instead, we were at the mansion resort with repetitive food. It made it hard to feel nourished after hours of yoga.

At first, it was tough to deal with, but I ended up with amazing instructors that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I had hoped for a more intimate and growth-focused experience, but I still learned a lot about myself. The instructors were fantastic and passionate about sharing their knowledge with us.

I gained invaluable knowledge about yoga, anatomy, and philosophy in just 3 weeks thanks to the instructors. They made it all possible. Throughout the training, Yoga Union was always responsive to our needs and concerns. I felt safe and supported, especially since most of us were from different parts of the world.

We only had a large group, so we didn’t get a lot of personal critique on our teaching or yoga practice. But that was probably because it was August. The energy of the big group was great – it was awesome to share the experience with people from all over the world. More students meant more to learn from too. The Shala in the rice fields was absolutely stunning – they really put a lot of effort into making it beautiful. It was so special to be surrounded by nature and real Ubud every day, away from the hustle and bustle of the town center.

The teachers were top-notch, each with their own style. They made us feel safe and welcomed, taking care of everyone’s needs. The variety of yoga styles and workshops kept things interesting. The course did a great job at preparing us to become teachers in a short amount of time. And I got to work on my own practice too.

The anatomy and philosophy lessons were informative and offered a new perspective on yoga beyond just the physical aspect.

The food at the nearby restaurant was surprisingly delicious, with plenty of options. The staff even accommodated special dietary needs.

Overall, my experience at YogaUnion was amazing. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and all that I learned.

The food could be a bit boring at times, but it’s easy to head down the street and buy something on those days. The schedule in the last few weeks seemed a bit disorganized, but it still worked out fine. I wish we had more practice teaching time, but I think the other group got a lot of that, so it depends on your teacher (ours was still great). The accommodation was much nicer than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The teachers were all awesome and very understanding and accommodating for our injuries and other issues. 1) The food at the Mansion kept serving up a lot of veggies, so watch out if you’re a meat-lover! But, breakfast was top-notch with a wide variety of dishes.

    2) The course got pretty intense – no surprises there! By the second week, many participants were feeling burnt out or getting sick. We could have done a better job at pacing ourselves. Unfortunately, our group had a tough time with scheduling, leading to 9 days straight of practice in the second week. But, the instructors were really supportive and allowed us to take breaks when needed. The whole experience blew me away, even though I came in with no expectations.

    1) The course covers a lot of ground – you dive into yoga through three main classes on asana alignment, yoga philosophy, and anatomy. You learn about both the physical and psychological/spiritual sides of yoga. Plus, there’s pranayama, meditation, and practicing how to teach a class. Each day, we prepared a new class that got longer as the course progressed.

    2) Our accommodation situation was a bit unique – our group ended up at the Mansion Hotel in Ubud instead of the regular shala. The hotel was lovely, so no complaints from us. I shared a family suite with another person, giving us plenty of space.

    3) The best part of the course was the amazing community we formed. People of all ages from around the world came together with an open-minded approach to learning and growing, making our differences insignificant. I made some incredible friends during the course, and we continued hanging out in Bali or even visiting each other’s countries after the program ended. My advice? Extend your stay in Bali to spend more time with your new friends!

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond the school’s control, the location didn’t meet our expectations. As someone living in Dubai, I was really looking forward to coming to Ubud to stay in the rice fields and be closer to nature. However, we ended up staying at the Mansion hotel. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful place and we were treated incredibly well, but I had come for a more natural and yoga-focused experience.

On the bright side, I did get to see Yoga Union’s shala and it was absolutely breathtaking! It was the most beautiful shala I had ever seen, surrounded by lush rice fields. I loved the teachers and the whole experience was amazing, helping me on my journey to becoming a yoga teacher. The classes were fun and interactive, presenting exciting challenges every day.

We were well taken care of and the teachers made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. I learned so much each day and met some incredible people who I hope to stay friends with for life. I definitely hope to return to Yoga Union someday and highly recommend the school to anyone looking to become a yoga teacher.

The accommodation was okay, but some guesthouses were nicer than others even though we paid the same price. The restaurant where we ate was beautiful and the staff were friendly, but the menu was repetitive until we asked for a change. These were small issues that wouldn’t stop me from fully recommending this yoga training in the future. I loved the experience. The teachers were knowledgeable and truly lived the Yogi philosophies. Thank you, Yoga Union, and all the lovely people and experiences that made it unforgettable. Much love. xx

The teachers at Yoga Union were super nice and helped us with everything we needed. The location, in the rice fields of Ubud, is just beautiful. The course was intense but amazing. I can totally recommend Yoga Union and will probably come back next year for the 300 hours YTT.

Thank you, Yoga Union family, for an amazing time in Bali and for sharing all your knowledge with us!

Come in expecting to work hard, as this course is more like school than a vacation. You’ll have lots of homework, studying, and preparation to do. Sundays are your day off, but you might not have much time for fun activities. It’s a tough three weeks, but it’s totally worth it in the end. If you want to explore Bali, just extend your stay a bit. I loved every minute of it, despite the highs and lows.

The course is well-designed. You’ll start teaching small lessons in the first week, which can be scary, but by week 2.5, you’ll be ready to teach a 30-minute class. You’ll also learn about philosophy, anatomy, and meditation, and you’ll be tested on all of it. It might seem like a lot, but it helps you become a well-rounded yoga teacher. Afternoon sessions introduce you to different yoga styles, and there’s a Vinyasa Flow class every morning. The classes are well-structured, catering to all levels, so you’ll see improvement in your own practice.

The teachers are fantastic, offering support in yoga and personal matters. You’re never on your own!

Regarding accommodation, be prepared to encounter bugs. The bungalows are open, but you’ll get used to it. Just pack bug spray and long pants.

As for the food, it’s delicious and nutritious. You’ll eat at the same restaurants three times a day, so don’t be surprised to see the same dishes multiple times. If you want something different, there are plenty of dining options nearby.

I loved my experience at the retreat! The accommodations were open and airy, but be sure to bring plenty of bug repellent and white tiger balm. My expectations were truly exceeded. The instructors were so organized and the classes were informative and captivating. I loved the variety of classes and how well they took care of us. I was able to focus all my energy on myself. I would highly recommend Ourania, Spyros, Sarah, and Jac. They each have unique gifts and really care about their students. Don’t wait, just go for it!

The people there are so friendly and helpful. They answer all questions during and even after the training. The food was delicious and the accommodation was super nice.

I didn’t like the location of the accommodation very much. The house was extremely isolated (not by the beach and no significant panorama), there were no public transportation, no shop for hygiene products, etc., and the beach was not within walking distance. If we hadn’t rented a car, we wouldn’t have seen anything of the beautiful peninsula. Also, my room was in the same house as the yoga classes, dining area, common room, etc. This was not ideal for me personally because it was always relatively loud and I couldn’t retreat anywhere, and I spent the whole day in the same house (going up and down stairs). The yoga classes were top-notch professional – the teachers are all very passionate and dedicated, and have excellent knowledge. I learned a lot in a relatively short amount of time and am really happy.

The only thing I found a bit difficult was living in the same house as three other girls where the courses took place. Initially, it was fine, but as the schedule got busier and sleep hours decreased, I needed every lunch break and post-dinner time for rest or study. The house was always bustling with people, making it hard to relax, especially since it only quieted down after 10 o’clock. It felt a bit claustrophobic and confining to do everything in the same place – learning, eating, sleeping.

On the bright side, renting a car allowed us to escape to the beach or town for a change of scenery during breaks. This was a refreshing break from the constant noise at the house. The food did cause some stomach issues after two weeks, so I started eating out occasionally for a change in the menu.

Overall, the house situation was the only downside for me, but I would recommend making changes for future retreats. Despite this, the yoga teacher training exceeded my expectations. The teachers were passionate, skilled, and dedicated, making it one of the best things I’ve done for myself. I learned a lot, enjoyed the company of fellow trainees, explored beautiful places, and grew as a person. The teachers were top-notch, offering different perspectives and a wealth of knowledge. The anatomy and philosophy sessions were engaging, and the surroundings were stunning. I made some great connections and overall, it was a fantastic experience.

I didn’t like that it had to end. I’m already missing the classes so much, and it hasn’t even been a week! I highly recommend Yoga Union to anyone interested in deepening their yoga practice or becoming a teacher. Even before I arrived for the training, I could feel the warmth of the teachers through our correspondence. I was feeling unwell before attending and unsure if I could handle the training. Yoga Union gave me the space to decide on my own, offering support and guidance. Their compassionate responses gave me the confidence to take a chance and attend the training, which turned out to be the best decision I ever made.

The training was not a disappointment. From day one, we jumped into challenging vinyasa classes and started learning right away. I particularly loved the variety of classes taught by different teachers. Ourania’s vinyasa classes were truly special, Sarah’s yin classes were relaxing, Spyros’ Hatha classes were invigorating, and Tony’s restorative classes were rejuvenating. The yin classes were a perfect complement to the vinyasa, providing our bodies with the relief they needed by the end of the first week. The days were long and the practice was intense, so make sure you ramp up your practice before starting the training.

The theory lessons were thorough, and we started teaching right away, which was the best way to learn. It helped us develop our teaching style and grow in confidence. I recommend reading the course books before you arrive, as it will give you a solid foundation of knowledge to navigate through the course.

The training organization could be improved professionally. Here are a couple of things that could really enhance the quality of the training:
    – Have students use the recommended books by assigning reading chapters before class (since some students bought the books but never used them).
    – Give a detailed schedule of the 3-week program on the first day at the introduction dinner, and ensure that those who can’t attend have a schedule in their room upon arrival so everyone knows what to expect.
    – Ensure the accommodation description is accurate to avoid any disappointment due to mismatched expectations.
    – Avoid speaking negatively about previous students to prevent current students from feeling uncertain about their own experience.
    – Treat every student equally during exams by providing the same level of attention to each of them.
The teachers were very passionate and knowledgeable about yoga, covering topics like alignment, the human body, philosophy, and asanas. The days were well-organized, starting with morning meditations and fantastic yoga classes with Ourania. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh fruits and delicious porridge or black rice pudding. The asana classes were informative, helping me understand proper postures and corrections. The philosophy lessons with Coralia were insightful, providing a deeper understanding of yoga. While the anatomy classes were a bit disjointed due to missing pages in the syllabus, I still learned a lot about how the human body works in yoga.
The 3-week journey with 29 other students was challenging at first, but I quickly adjusted to the routine. Overall, it was a positive personal experience with some areas that could be improved for the next round of yoga teacher training.

The wifi wasn’t the strongest, but I expected that in Indonesia. We also shared a Shala with another group who was upstairs, and sometimes their noise would clash with our meditation, or the other way around. But honestly, I had nothing to complain about; everything was amazing. This experience fulfilled a dream for me. Ourania and Koralia, the amazing teachers, have taught me so much. I have no negatives at all. If I could wish for anything, I would want all the participants to stay in one place. But, that wasn’t even a problem because we got to explore all those amazing places in the rice fields. What I loved about this teacher training is that:
    – It helps you grow as a person both practically and spiritually. It really makes you reflect on yourself and look deep within.
    – It puts a strong emphasis on teaching. You start teaching right from week 1, which boosts your confidence by the end.
    – The location, the people, the food, and the teachers all combine to create a magical experience that puts a smile on your face every day.

Firstly, the course overshot its advertised limit of 15 people and ended up with 35 students. This was frustrating because it meant I didn’t receive any constructive feedback for over two weeks due to the high number of students compared to the number of teachers.

The Anatomy and Philosophy classes were confusing and unstructured, not because of the content itself, but because of the poor management and communication during the lessons. We were told not to take notes and didn’t receive handouts to follow along with. The Teacher Training manual was so poorly printed that it had to be reprinted.

Although all texts were supposed to be provided during the training, most of us ended up buying an additional text that was very helpful for the Anatomy part of the course.

During our practice teaching sessions, the teachers were often distracted and failed to give meaningful constructive criticism. It was common for them to walk in and out of our teaching sessions, or be on their phones, even during assessments.

I wish there had been a more supportive learning environment, as I felt like it was easy for students to fall behind. The surroundings were incredible though, with beautiful rice fields to walk past every day. The actual yoga classes were fantastic – the teachers were passionate and clear in their Vinyassa lessons. They were also able to provide detailed professional feedback and adjustments when requested.

The food was amazing, with a great selection of vegan options. The only thing missing was more protein options other than soy products.

They falsely advertised that the course was limited to 15 people, but when I arrived, there were 35 people in total. I was told I was the last one to book, but clearly, that was not the case. It was really unprofessional how they handled the bookings, with girls even booking a week before. However, the quality of the teachers was amazing. Both had a deep knowledge of all the subjects and yoga as a whole.

The disorganization was my main problem. We were often clueless about our next location, wandering until we stumbled upon our teachers. I didn’t like the lack of a schedule for the three weeks ahead – we only found out a few days in advance. The teachers wanted flexibility, but a plan would’ve helped us prepare and de-stress.

I never got the Shatkarma kit that was promised, and had to ask for the included massage. Both weren’t initially mentioned. I think they should hire an admin person to help out.

Despite these issues, the teaching was top-notch and I learned a lot. The exam covered everything we learned. The teachers were knowledgeable, sharing valuable experiences. Their personalities were different, giving us a well-rounded perspective. We started teaching and getting feedback early on, which was challenging but beneficial. I enjoyed learning different yoga styles alongside Vinyasa.

The scenery in Ubud was stunning, and both class locations had great equipment and views. I stayed at Gusti Garden, which was basic but comfy. The WiFi was good, and the owner was always helpful. The free umbrellas were a nice touch!

The food at Prashanti was delicious, but not exactly macrobiotic. It was more Indonesian vegan cuisine.

I had a fantastic time with supportive classmates, many of whom are now my friends.

They promised to organize everything, but nothing was organized. We had classes in different locations, I lived in another one, and had food in a third place. There was a lot of back and forth, confusion, and improvising. The instructors were great, but the way they presented anatomy made it seem like they were just making it up as they went along. It was hard to believe they had organized a ttc before, let alone for eight years in a row. It felt like their first time. It stressed us out and instead of feeling like peaceful yogis, I worried about failing because I felt stupid. Overall, I didn’t like the vibe from the instructors, but they did try to fix it. Hopefully, the next one will be better. On the bright side, I enjoyed it! I loved the location in the rice fields, even though we were at Dragonfly for yoga and I wasn’t staying at Prashanti. Ubud is amazing, and I fell in love with Bali!

The structure and organization of this program really need some work. I think they could have really used an assistant. Things were not handled correctly, and many students were upset. When we were asked for our feedback, the teachers became defensive and dismissive.

The website said 15 participants max, but there were actually 35. We were told that it didn’t make a difference, but I strongly felt that it did. I didn’t receive enough instruction or help, and often felt lost and ignored. It seemed like certain students received more attention than others.

I was promised a certain accommodation, but I was given a significantly less nice one. The online price for the accommodation I received was half of what the other girls were staying at, yet I had to pay full price. I expected to be compensated for the downgrade, but that didn’t happen. It felt very unfair. I had mold issues in my room and ended up with a sore throat and runny nose for most of the training. My favorite luggage ended up covered in mold by the end of the training. Despite my efforts to address these issues, I felt completely dismissed.

The practice space we used was beautiful, and I learned a lot. I appreciated being introduced to other forms of yoga, beyond just Vinyasa. However, I would have liked more explanation about those types. The teachers were knowledgeable but not always the most organized. I also had the opportunity to meet some incredible women.

We didn’t get the accommodation we expected… the bathroom was really musty and damp, and there weren’t any drinking water facilities. But overall, everything else about the accommodation was nice, just the little things. Sometimes the class was so big that we had to be split up between different venues, which caused some confusion. A few things could have gone more smoothly, but this was their first time organizing in Bali. The two teachers were fantastic… they were both incredibly strong women with unique qualities. It was amazing to have them as mentors during the program.
