Make your vacation here truly memorable by doing whatever you like. We offer services tailored to your needs.

Let’s talk about the yoga sessions we have available. You can choose from various yoga styles, including Ashtanga, Dynamic, Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga. Ashtanga yoga is a rigorous and dynamic practice that follows a specific sequence of postures, while a slow-paced Hatha flow focuses on lengthening, loosening, and relaxing the body and mind. If you’re looking for complete relaxation, try our Restorative yoga, which involves practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time.

Vinyasa yoga is a breath-synchronized movement practice that strengthens both the body and mind, while Yin yoga targets the connective tissues, ligaments, bones, and joints with gentle, slow-paced poses held for more than five minutes. If you’re looking to lengthen your spine and increase flexibility, our FlyHigh Yoga class is perfect for you. It utilizes the FlyHighYoga™ hanging belt and has a maximum capacity of six people. Lastly, we offer Acro yoga, a modern form of yoga that combines yoga, performance, and acrobatics, focusing on building strength, flexibility, trust, and teamwork.

If you’re interested in surfing, we offer private surf lessons with professional yoga and surf instructors at Canggu beach. It’s a great opportunity to learn and enjoy the waves with expert guidance.

Serenity is a fantastic place to stay. It has a great location and serves super healthy and delicious food. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took great care of me when I was sick, helping me get back on my feet quickly. The variety of yoga classes they offer is impressive, and each one I attended was excellent. I really enjoyed my time there and would definitely go back. I highly recommend it!

I started off in a single bedroom with a fan and it was way too hot. My “window” faced the shared bathroom inside, so there was no way to get some fresh air.
After enduring 9 sweltering nights, a room with air conditioning opened up and I was able to switch. There were construction works just on the other side of my room wall, going on all day until the end of my stay. I couldn’t enjoy my room (and the AC) during the day.. the noise from the machines was unbearable. I had to shower with earplugs in. And the workers kept coming and going through my small terrace, with one chair being off-limits to hang a sign saying “Thank you for your understanding of the inconvenience caused by the works”.
Other things bothered me like the springs in the mattress, the low water pressure in the shower, the hot water lasting only 3 minutes, the worn-out towels that didn’t smell fresh at all, the flood in my room every morning after a night of rain… Instead of fixing the issue, I was asked via email to put all my belongings up high.. If I had to do it over again, I would only opt for the yoga pass and stay elsewhere.
PS: I was in the Yang room. The pool is small but very peaceful and surrounded by greenery.
The yoga classes were really good. It’s great to have a month pass and decide day by day which classes to attend.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. From the reception, to the restaurant, the security, the gardeners, the housekeeping staff,… thanks to them for everything!
Very close to the beach, in a rather quiet street. Very pleasant.

Honestly, absolutely nothing beats Serenity. It’s a truly magical place with a peaceful, gentle, and bright atmosphere. From the employees to the residents, everyone exudes a genuine kindness.

I had an amazing week there. The yoga classes were interesting, spiritual, and challenging, with teachers who genuinely cared about everyone’s well-being and connected with us on a deep level. There were plenty of classes to choose from, so everyone could find something they enjoyed.

Breakfast was delicious and different every morning, with fresh and high-quality ingredients. I also had dinner at the Guest House, and the food was truly top-notch.

The garden is a paradise, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife like squirrels, birds, and geckos. Despite being close to the busy life of Canggu, it feels like a jungle retreat.

The spa services were exceptional, with attentive staff who were incredibly kind. The Guest House is perfectly located, just a short walk from the beach and stunning sunsets, as well as all the necessary shops and services.

I felt right at home at Serenity. I will definitely be returning. Thank you all so much for this wonderful stay.

I didn’t dislike anything at all, I liked everything there! The best yoga classes in the world are there. My favorite was definitely Hatha classes (also yin, power yoga, and sunset flow) with teacher Qino! Qino always gave clear instructions, made appropriate adjustments, and offered different options for all levels. The yoga shalas and rooms are very clean. The food in the cafe is tasty and fresh. All the people who work there are very friendly. You’ll never be bored there, the atmosphere is always fun and friendly! I will definitely go back there again! I’ll miss you all!

I didn’t like that they allow people to join the class after it starts. It’s really annoying when people show up late, like 15 minutes or more, and try to squeeze in between the mats. I find it disrespectful to the yoga instructors and everyone in the class. Most places I’ve been to don’t allow it, and I think it should be a rule.

But overall, I had a great time there. The yoga instructors, Diaz, Qino, and Yogi, were amazing. Their energy was so positive and they were really nice. The classes were challenging but fun. The staff was friendly, and the place was beautiful with lots of plants around the pool.

In Canggu, there are tons of options, but I personally think I found the best one! The staff at this place is incredible – they’re so friendly and hardworking. They clean the accommodations every day, even the dorms, and make the beds and provide fresh towels. Plus, they have an awesome lineup of yoga classes with really talented instructors. The atmosphere here is truly community-oriented, especially with the pool and lounge chairs. I stayed for 12 nights and hardly left, except to hit up the nearby beach, which is just a few minutes away. I definitely plan on returning.

I stayed in a room that was basically in the common area, where people talked on the phone every night until late. Because the room didn’t have any windows, it felt extra hot. The classes offered a wide range of options, and the community of fellow travelers was simply beautiful.

Across the road, they were doing some construction which, honestly, messed with the peaceful atmosphere a little. But hey, it wasn’t enough to completely ruin my experience. I absolutely adore that place! It has such a tranquil vibe overall. And let me tell you, the food there is incredibly nourishing, yummy, and reasonably priced. The yoga classes are so varied, and the instructors are super professional. Not to mention, the staff are all delightful. I seriously can’t get enough of this place. The noise coming from the nearby bars wasn’t really a problem in the end! The warmth, simplicity, and kindness that radiate from this place.

It’s been a sanctuary for me.
I preferred the dorms for more opportunities to meet people.
The vegan meals, permaculture, staff, and property – I walked around barefoot all the time.
The proximity to the beach and shops.

The yoga teachers are very professional and knowledgeable, especially Kemie, with whom I took several inversion classes. They’re all insightful.
    The yoga studios.
The spa, massage, and wellness area.
The pool, fruit trees, and medicinal plants.

Thanks to the entire team. See you soon!

I wasn’t a big fan of Canggu, but that’s not the fault of the center. Just make sure you book a room with a private bathroom if you value your privacy. The single rooms without a bathroom are cheaper, but they are so small that I felt claustrophobic. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and they go to great lengths to embrace sustainability, support local communities, and serve organic food. The restaurant and yoga classes are absolutely fantastic. The dorms are spacious and perfect for travelers who enjoy that kind of accommodation. Overall, it was a really nice experience, especially if you’re into surfing because the spot is conveniently close.

We slept in a 6-bed dorm. On the last evening/night, a cat sneaked around our bed and even got partly inside. As someone who is not a fan of cats or is even allergic to cat hair, I strongly urge keeping cats away from the premises. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything was very clean. Some places, such as the bathrooms and yogi dorm, might benefit from a thorough floor cleaning and some handy-fixing, especially the showers. At Serenity, the staff is incredible – always smiling, welcoming, and ready to assist. The yoga classes are fantastic, and the teachers are highly skilled. You’ve got to try the food at Alkaline, their restaurant. Trust me, their chocolate cake is the absolute best! The noise around the premises is the only downside, but it’s not really their fault – just something worth mentioning. There’s a lot of construction going on nearby, so some classes can get pretty noisy. And if you’re staying at Seabreeze, be prepared for roosters right outside. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s better to choose Serenity itself. It’s a bit quieter there. On the bright side, the yoga class selection was fantastic! All the teachers were absolutely amazing! One thing that really upset me here was the cat situation. They left behind a small kitten, abandoned the mom and another kitten, and unfortunately, the mom passed away, leaving her baby all alone. Sometimes, he went hungry, but me and some other girls were there to take care of them. Oh, let me tell you, the yoga instructors are absolutely amazing! I absolutely adored their classes. We stayed in Serenity for a whole month and we really wanted to stay even longer. We tried out almost all the yoga classes and we absolutely loved all the teachers and the variety of practices. The pool area is perfect for kicking back and relaxing, plus the resort staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to our every need.

The only downside to Serenity is that some of the private rooms lack comfort. We tried out four different rooms and all of the mattresses were uncomfortable. They were so bad that we woke up in the middle of the night with back pain. Trust us, you’ll want to avoid the Tarzan room at all costs. It doesn’t have air conditioning or any privacy, and it tends to get filled with smoke from nearby fires. Even the resort staff would sometimes smoke us out in the morning while trying to boil water for the restaurant. We mentioned it to them and they were very accommodating and stopped, but unfortunately, other people in the neighborhood burn garbage and rice fields, so the smoke can still be an issue. Just a heads up!

The Alkaline restaurant is pretty good. The prices are reasonable and the food is really healthy. The breakfast buffet was decent, but you can find even better options nearby for just a little more money.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would definitely go back!

Only the wifi is not that great, so you can really get into the zen mode. The towels don’t smell fresh, they could use a better wash. But overall, it’s amazing! As soon as I walked in, I felt great. The reception was fantastic, they even gave me a tour of the place and took their time with me. The atmosphere is very calming. The bed is comfy and covered with curtains and a mosquito net. The room is also pretty dark, even though it’s only half outside! They also make your bed nicely every morning. The breakfast buffet is top-notch! So many different vegan options to try: homemade bread slices, peanut butter/jam, fruits, and a different special every time (pumpkin, chickpea soup), plus coffee, tea, milk, and juices. The homemade peanut butter and jam are so delicious! The restaurant attached to it also has tasty vegan options at a decent price.
I stayed in the shared room with 3 yoga classes. There are around 10 yoga classes to choose from. The instructors are amazing and considerate of beginners. I really enjoyed Yogi’s Hatha class. And you have to try the massages! The best neck/back massage ever, Tini really knew how to release the tension in my neck.

Other teachers are good as well, but they don’t adjust students. I went to Kemi’s class to learn inversion, but she doesn’t teach it step by step. Instead, she simply told me, “You won’t be able to do it if you don’t try.” However, I can’t do inversions without someone assisting me because I might injure myself. The yoga classes with Kartana, Mano, Quino, and Yogi are excellent. These teachers not only adjust students but also passionately transfer their knowledge.

Make sure to do some research about Canggu before you go. I didn’t and it wasn’t what I expected. The place has been taken over by westerners and party-goers. Most of the businesses are now owned by foreigners. But if you’re looking for a party scene and lots of surfers, then Canggu is the place to be.

The room I booked was small, with just one single bed, no desk, and a dresser. There were two windows – one facing the bathroom and shower area, and the other facing the alley where people would smoke (even though it was supposed to be a smoke-free resort). It was really inconvenient because I could hear people coming in and out of the bathroom and sometimes smell cigarettes in my room.

The WiFi didn’t reach my room, so making video calls or streaming online was impossible. Other rooms didn’t seem to have this issue though. Not great for a serene yoga retreat that I was hoping for.

After a few nights, I asked if I could change rooms or pay more for an upgrade, but they said they were fully booked and their system couldn’t do room swaps.

In the end, I canceled my stay after the first week and left Canggu. On the bright side, the yoga classes at the facility were amazing. The teachers were talented and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. The staff were also lovely and created a positive vibe throughout the center. The pool area was beautiful, although there wasn’t much space for sunbathing. The pool itself was rarely crowded though. I also had a great Balinese massage at the spa center next to the pool. The prices were good considering the expertise and location.

Overall, I would definitely do yoga at this facility again, but unfortunately, my accommodation experience wasn’t the best.

Canggu didn’t meet my expectations, but it’s alright because I spent most of the day in Serenity. The noises from the neighboring rooms were annoying, as we could hear every little sound. However, the yoga teachers were fantastic and covered a wide range of topics. It was a unique experience for me and I had to put in a lot of effort to learn. The massages, staff, and food were all amazing. I genuinely enjoyed my time there and highly recommend it.

On the bright side, the location was peaceful and quiet. Plus, they had great yoga classes! They offered a whopping seven yoga classes per day.

The dogs they have can get a little barky at night, but I easily went back to sleep with earplugs, so it wasn’t a problem at all! Serenity has this magical power to help you unwind from the busyness of Canggu and fully embrace its serene green atmosphere. The teachers are all unique and have excellent qualities, giving you a great variety to choose from each day. My room was simple but cleaned every day, and I felt very comfortable. The staff regularly cleaned the showers and toilets, and they were always positive and helpful. Every morning, breakfast included fruit and homemade raw breads, along with a different hot element like Balinese porridge, scrambled tofu, or banana pancakes, and it was all incredibly delicious. The meals I had for lunch and dinner were also amazing, made with fresh and wholesome ingredients. I stumbled upon this place and it was a fantastic discovery. I will definitely come back on my next trip to Bali.

It was my first time in Bali, and overall, I was mainly disappointed by the town of Canggu. It’s very touristy and has a superficial “instagram” vibe. Basically, everything is catered towards tourists, so if you’re looking for authenticity, I would not recommend this town. Pollution is also quite prevalent, which can make the sea dirty on rainy days.

Regarding Serenity, the dormitory I stayed in was clean (cleaned daily) and decent, although there were insects, particularly crabs, which was a bit unpleasant, but nothing major. Once we mentioned it to the staff, they did everything to fix the issue.

The biggest downside for me was health-related. From January to March 2020, many people fell ill, including myself. We thought a bacteria (possibly in the water) might be the cause of the fever, diarrhea, and vomiting that we experienced. However, we don’t know for sure, but it was difficult for many other tourists staying at Serenity.

However, I don’t blame the staff at Serenity, as they must have been bothered by this problem as well. For my first solo trip, I decided to go to a center that offers yoga classes to not be alone in a new country and have the opportunity to deepen my practice. I’m not disappointed with choosing Serenity! The place itself is stunning with a beautiful pool, the staff is always smiling and attentive, the teachers are excellent, and the vegan food is pretty good. The people I met there were all in a positive and open mood, which made it easy to make connections and have unforgettable moments. A big thank you for the three Balinese massages included with the one-month package.

I highly recommend Serenity, and even though Canggu wasn’t a favorite town, I would go back just for the kindness of the teachers and staff.

Sometimes the toilet seats in the shared bathroom facilities would be unclean, but that’s just because some guests don’t consider cleanliness.

During a class, one of the instructors took the tokens and ignored my request to be left alone with my practice, even though I’d placed my card there.

The accommodations here are simple and eco-friendly, but what really stands out is the incredibly helpful and kind staff! And don’t get me started on the vegan breakfast buffet – it’s absolutely mind-blowing!

The pool area creates such a serene atmosphere, and the yoga classes are pretty good. Most of the instructors tend to follow a modern style of yoga with a focus on movement. However, there are a few instructors who incorporate a more traditional practice into their movement routines as well.

Overall, there’s a class and teacher for everyone here! Plus, you can’t beat the location – it’s super close to an amazing surf spot and within walking distance of some great restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place!

We couldn’t find a key to use in the dorm room. The bathrooms weren’t too clean. The beds were uncomfortably hard. If you sleep on the bottom bunk, be prepared for centipedes crawling on you at night. The area here is so damp that you never feel clean or dry unless you leave the dorm. Unfortunately, the food made people sick, so I skipped the breakfast and ate somewhere else. Maybe it was just my dorm that had these issues, as others seemed fine. However, the yoga classes were really enjoyable, and the teachers were incredibly fun and helpful, especially if you’re new to yoga. The pool is great. The location is good because it’s a quiet hideaway, only a 10-minute walk from the main area. The staff is lovely and accommodating. When we had no hot water, they fixed it immediately after I mentioned it. It’s a wonderful place to meet people, and the staff and security are available 24/7.

I left the guesthouse slightly disheartened because someone stole my treasured bracelet, as well as my towel and bikini that were drying on a rack. The staff did all they could to help by taking down my name and room number in case the items turned up, and I’m really grateful for that. But I still can’t shake off the feeling of disappointment. However, the staff at the guesthouse were very friendly and they offered a 2-minute shuttle from S1 to S2 instead of a 10-minute walk in the dark. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The pool was perfect, and I had a great time at every yoga class (even though I ended up with sore muscles everywhere, haha!). I just wanted to say thank you, Serenity, for providing me with a fantastic holiday.

In Serenity 2, the roosters were very loud (louder than expected) and the bathroom smelled partially. Construction was going on in front of the main building, which was also noisy. In my opinion, the dorms here in Serenity 1 were not as lovingly furnished as in Serenity 2. However, the staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The food was good, the yoga classes were mostly very good, and the location was great. Additionally, the pool was very beautiful and I felt comfortable.

Avoid the alkaline restaurant! The banana bread is like playdough, if you don’t want to get sick for 4 days like me and many others at the hotel (strangely), stay away from the restaurant and eat outside for better quality and cheaper prices. The breakfast is bland, we knew it was vegan but everything had no taste. When they ran out of pineapple jam and we asked for more because we don’t like papaya, they said they couldn’t because they had to finish the papaya first. Since we didn’t eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant, when we asked for two simple spoons, they refused to lend us any. We paid 120 euros for the room and yoga for the week, but unlimited yoga for a week only costs 60 euros, and we thought the room (or rather the bed in a dorm) is nowhere near worth 10 euros per night. The staff is not very welcoming and there’s no nice place to relax if you don’t consume at the restaurant. It’s a shame because we were excited to try the yoga experience in Canggu. The aerial yoga class is great, and the location is convenient. The cleanliness of the room and common areas is good though.

Breakfasts at the resort were so dull and unimaginative. It was the same old thing every single day, and the quality was seriously lacking. They really need to step up their game when it comes to hygiene standards. I mean, having stinky dogs in the restaurant? That’s just asking for trouble!

On a brighter note, the yoga teaching and facilities were absolutely fantastic. I can’t complain about that. As for the accommodation, it was decent enough considering the price. The food was alright, but I have to say, the breakfasts got worse and worse as time went on. It’s no wonder there were so many sick people at the resort. They all claimed it was a bacterial infection from eating the food here. Yikes!

The breakfast was amazing, all vegan and delicious. I also had some cakes at the restaurant, which were also vegan and really good. The whole place really matched their food offer, yoga, spa, and permaculture around the property. They even care about the chemicals in the pool, which is pretty cool! I joined an ecstatic dance session lead by Deva and it was absolutely awesome! The only thing they need is a proper sound system. I really enjoyed the food at first, but it started to get repetitive with many similar dishes. I was trying to avoid salads because they were washed in general water, but most of their dishes had raw ingredients. I’m not quite sure what their vegan alkaline diet consists of, but I wish they had more dishes with legumes. We did have moong beans for breakfast one day, but it was a strange sweet porridge. Overall, breakfast was okay, but the fresh juices were more like purees than actual juice.

There seemed to be a jacuzzi at one end of the pool, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. Our room was situated in the middle of the complex, but some of the other accommodations were quite far away, and the road to reach them was busy at times. Even with a shuttle available, I wouldn’t want to stay at either of these places.

Despite these concerns, I would definitely go back. Booking unlimited yoga classes may have been a bit too ambitious, but we still managed to attend at least one class a day, sometimes two. There were so many options and different levels to choose from, and the classes ran from 7am to 7pm. All of the instructors were excellent, and the facilities were top-notch. The staff went above and beyond, and it was evident that they genuinely cared about their guests’ experience. The place was kept immaculately clean, creating a peaceful environment to unwind. The pool area was lovely for relaxation, and our ensuite room was conveniently located right by the pool. The spa treatments were also exceptional and reasonably priced. Additionally, the beach was just a short walk away.

The room is very noisy because the door is a sliding door that doesn’t completely close. The beds are very comfortable! The air conditioning is very quiet. The pool is very clean.

The breakfast is good, but mostly sweet. They always have cut fruit, bread with sweet spreads, and a warm dish like baked banana or porridge.

I’m not sure what was going on there, but every single new person who stayed in the dorm, including myself (and plenty of people in other rooms too), experienced this awful 24-hour sickness with vomiting and diarrhea. It could’ve been the breakfast they served, or maybe something related to cleanliness or water quality. Or perhaps it was just a 24-hour flu that thrives in that place due to the constant flow of people. Regardless, every single person in the dorm (and even those in other rooms) fell ill during my 10-day stay. On the bright side, the yoga sessions were fantastic, especially in the open air studios. While I was staying at the Serene rooms, which were just a short distance from the main building, I absolutely loved the rooms themselves. However, I have to admit that the 4.30 wake up calls from the roosters and dogs right outside my window were not the most enjoyable part of my stay 🙂 It didn’t ruin my experience, but I definitely didn’t get as much rest as I would have liked. No matter what I tried- ear plugs, headphones- I couldn’t block out the crazy noise they made every day. But I have to say, the overall setting and concept of the lodge were fantastic. The vibes and staff were great too.

Kartana, the yoga instructor, was more in line with my yoga style and I really appreciated how he corrected my poses. On the other hand, Diaz was an incredible yoga instructor, but his level of expertise was a bit beyond mine. So, instead of just showing me the correct way, I would have preferred more physical corrections to help me improve.

Generally, the staff at Serenity Eco Lodge were really amazing. There was only one instance where I had a strange experience. I believe the person I approached at the front desk was the office manager, but he just brushed me off and directed me to another staff member.

Overall, I had a super duper experience and I would highly recommend Serenity Eco Lodge.

The accommodation in the heart of the complex is very good, so don’t get it wrong… The vegan food is good and the breakfast is pleasant…

When I imagined a yoga retreat, I pictured staying with the same group of people, attending classes with main teachers, and following a structured program. But here, it feels more like a guest house with drop-in classes. You might end up sharing a room with non-yogis, which could throw off your schedules (late nights vs. early mornings).

I really enjoyed my experience, even though it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. On the bright side, it offers more flexibility. I noticed they do have all-encompassing retreats, but they come with a higher price tag. For what I paid, I couldn’t be happier! The teachers, classes, and staff were all fantastic. I also made some great friends among the guests.

The healthy food options like the banana smoothie and chia bowl were delicious. And free water is always a plus!

The location is great, with a quiet street and a short walk to the beach. I appreciate that they offer workshops like the women’s circle, which helped create a strong bond among us.

The room can be a bit noisy in the morning with the roosters and scooters, but you eventually get used to it. They give you earplugs which are helpful. They welcome you warmly, and the quality-price ratio is good. The food is delicious, and the yoga and spa facilities are fabulous.

The hotel offered activities both inside and outside, but as a bonus you could join extracurricular activities like conversation circles onsite (such as during breakfast, by the pool or at the café), post-yoga class gatherings, or simple beach activities to meet other guests. The place, the atmosphere, the attention and the service were so warm, ecological, nourishing, healing, and rejuvenating. The facilities were simply cozy, clean, and very connected with nature. The location is perfect for practicing yoga individually or with amazing native Balinese teachers who share the true essence of yoga.

The Balinese massages included in the 30-day unlimited package and the delicious breakfast at the Alkaline restaurant were the perfect touch! Without a doubt, I found the best medicine for my body at Serenity Eco Guest House & Yoga. Thank you so much! I’ll be back soon to recharge more energy!

The constant building work going on every morning at 7 am in my room slightly put me off. I wish they had informed us about this when we checked in. Despite that, I really enjoyed the yoga classes. They were not overcrowded and the instructors were very helpful. I tried aerial yoga for the first time and absolutely loved it! I would definitely do it again in England.

The bathroom could have been cleaner, but I understand it’s an eco hostel so they can’t use strong cleaning products. I didn’t really like the restaurant options because I’m not vegan, but others have said the food is delicious. Overall, it’s a great place to stay. I really enjoyed my time here. Just need to give 30 minutes notice before yoga classes, but the staff is super friendly and helpful. A Late Breakfast is a great spot to meet people. The beach is just a short walk away, along with plenty of food options. The other guests were friendly and the pool area is perfect for chilling out. My bathroom was a bit basic, but the shower was warm and my bed was comfy and clean. I recommend this place for solo travelers who want to do some yoga and be close to surfing spots.

I imagine some people might be sensitive to insects and nature, but that wasn’t the case for me. Just so you know, Serenity’s eco-friendly approach means there’s a lot of lively wildlife around their facilities. It was my first time in Bali and I wanted to take it easy, so Canggu and the Serenity Eco Guesthouse were the perfect fit for me. Check-in was a breeze and they quickly filled me in on all the amenities they had to offer, which was a lot. I really enjoyed the Balinese massage, and the Ashtanga and Aerial Yoga classes were top-notch. The Alkaline restaurant’s sugar- and gluten-free concept was a hit with me, and their raw bars and smoothie bowls were delicious. The resort is close to Canggu’s main street but in a quieter area, perfect for evening meditation and yoga sessions. And let me tell you, the surfing lesson was the highlight of my trip!

The finishing touches in the sanitary facilities are used by many people. If you’re looking for more entertainment in going out, shopping, etc., you’ll have to walk a bit, about 15 minutes. It’s easy to do during the day but a bit less convenient in the evening.

I found it a great place to land in Bali. There is peace and plenty of spots to settle in. There is a wide range of good yoga classes available. The Spa is delightful and reasonably priced. The beach is a 2-minute walk away. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The yoga experience was incredible with a variety of teachers bringing unique approaches. I attended 81 classes in a month, only skipping one – Hannah’s Sunset flow was a total waste of time. Yudah’s classes are decent but his English could use some improvement. Some students got annoyed due to the bad grammar and excessive talking. Hopefully, he works on it soon by using proper English for his instructions. The Alkaline restaurant has some issues with slow service and chaos. The kitchen needs better organization to ensure guests don’t miss out on the amazing breakfast. The Serenity staff are top-notch and go above and beyond to help guests. They work hard and are very humble. I extended my stay multiple times and recommend the shared dorm at Serenity 2 with AC. Special thanks to the yoga instructors – Diaz, Chitra, Mia, Nia, Yogi, Kartana, Mano, Ika Dewi, Todjon, Sida, Amanda, Lala – each one of you is amazing in your own way. Thank you for the valuable lessons!

I was surprised when I had to surrender my passport upon arrival. I asked if I could pay cash for the first night since I arrived at 1:30 am, but it seemed like giving up my passport was the only way to get a room. This is very unusual for me when I travel.

I stayed in B7, and the dog got into the common area before the stairs up to the toilet. When I came down the second night, he growled and barked aggressively, and thankfully ran away. I have to admit, I was a bit scared.

The yoga classes were challenging, a bit more difficult than I expected, but the instructors made it fun! The food was creative and imaginative. I’m not vegan, but I enjoyed trying the menu. The pool and the massage facilities were also very nice, exceeding my expectations. The pre-arranged ride from the airport was well worth it! My driver spoke good English and patiently waited while customs and immigration took a full 90 minutes.

Our room. No peaceful night. Just next to a dog breeder according to the receptionist. Constant barking and roosters made it impossible to sleep well even with earplugs. And these noises continued during the day. Hearing dogs bark all the time is not pleasant. We had a fridge but no kettle, so no hot water available as stated. Having to walk 1.5 km for a tea is not what I call convenient. The shower didn’t work properly, sometimes hot water, sometimes cold. For the budget, the room is not up to par… and not serene despite its name. The Serenity center was nice, with a pool, restaurant, and garden, but if you don’t stay there, you can’t enjoy the services like hot water, cold water, relaxation room, pool, or breakfast. Everything is there thankfully we had a scooter because it was really not close by. The yoga classes and equipment are perfect, with classes available all day.

If you enjoy camping, then Serenity is the place for you! Personally, it’s not my cup of tea. The mosquitoes at the site are relentless and not much is done to keep them away, other than turning off lights and using ineffective mosquito lotion. It’s more like a Guesthouse stay with a yoga pass than a peaceful retreat. The class schedule only offers one beginners class, and the other classes that are supposed to be suitable for beginners didn’t feel that way to me. The quality of teaching also varies widely. Nia seemed more focused on getting perfect Instagram photos than on actual Aerial yoga. Todjion didn’t seem interested in making any adjustments during class. Magdelena, on the other hand, was a fantastic Vinyasa teacher who catered to all levels and emphasized true yoga practice without any egos.
During my stay, I needed medical attention and had to visit a doctor. The staff didn’t seem worried at all and were unhelpful in locating the doctor, resulting in a delay of over 4 hours. This is not how you should treat young solo travelers.
The rooms were terrible, especially considering the extra payment for aircon and a private bathroom. One bathroom was covered in dead moths and mosquitoes. It was also extremely noisy, with parties, animals, and motorbikes disturbing the peace.
On the bright side, the food at Alkaline restaurant was delicious, and the surfing experience was amazing. Some of the staff were indeed very helpful.

Some of the bathrooms weren’t too desirable, but staff still kept them clean. In the morning, it can get noisy outside your dorms with staff and the “fire man” as we started calling him, but if you’re up early for yoga anyway, you learn to deal. It would be nice though if the aircon could be on a timer so they don’t wake you every morning when they come in to shut it off. It also seems strange that they open the window as soon as they turn off the air. Wouldn’t you want to keep the cold air in as long as possible?! It would be great if the later, more relaxing yogas were in a quieter room. It can be very distracting with the motorbikes and people talking right under you. These are all minor things and wouldn’t stop me from returning 🙂 Everything exceeded my expectations. There was a great selection of classes and amazing teachers. By the end of the program, you find yourself in a pretty great routine. The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. I loved the mosquito lotion! Can’t wait to go back… hopefully soon!

I loved everything about my stay at Serenity, except for the bug bites I got 🙁 One morning, I woke up to find my entire back, shoulders, and feet covered in bites. There were so many that I had an allergic reaction. I think they were bedbugs, but the staff said they were from bugs outside in the bamboo…who knows? I never even saw any bugs, just woke up with 100 bites 🙁 People in my yoga class noticed all my bites and mentioned that bedbugs are a common issue at Serenity. One girl even said she doesn’t stay there anymore because of it, just comes to yoga class. The staff was nice and tried to help by putting coconut oil on my bites, but I woke up with more bites the next day, so it didn’t really work. I ended up canceling my last week at Serenity and going to Ubud instead. It was hard to focus on yoga and meditation with all the itching from the bites :/ It seems like the bug problem was mainly in the single rooms, the dorms were fine. Despite all that, Serenity is a great place for solo travelers looking for peace, relaxation, and to meet like-minded people while practicing yoga in a beautiful setting 🙂 The location is great, close to the beach, and the yoga classes are excellent. The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I particularly enjoyed Kartana and Pusba’s classes, but there is something for everyone at Serenity 🙂 The spa was also very good.

Sometimes there was too much music during Asana and Shavasana training, but overall the training was very good. Bente and Maria are amazing teachers, and the lectures were also top-notch. I had a great time.

Some restaurants are around that area, but it can be a bit scary to go to the other ones, especially at night because it’s too dark. However, they do serve lunch and dinner too. The yoga instructors are amazing, and I learned a lot from them. The accommodation is nice – it’s clean and pretty quiet. The food is decent for me since I’m not a vegetarian, but the taste is good. I enjoyed breakfast every morning. If you’re a vegetarian, you would love their food. The location is great, it’s near the beach.

I don’t think this place qualifies as a yoga retreat. They don’t have a set programme, coaching, or guidance. You basically just get the accommodation and a yoga pass and have to figure out everything yourself. This can be really frustrating for beginners.

Also, the place is way busier than I expected based on the descriptions and website. This is mostly because of the (pretty good) restaurant and walking paths to the yoga classes. The lack of structure combined with the busyness makes it feel more like a regular stay than a retreat.

But, it’s a nice (budget-friendly) place to stay and do some yoga. The lessons are generally good, though the quality can vary depending on the teacher. The accommodation is nice, the pool is great, and the location near the beach is awesome.

I want to see more plug sockets in the rooms and aircon units. The yoga here is fantastic and the whole package is a great value. The massages were a nice surprise and just as amazing.
When I arrived after a 20-hour journey, I wasn’t sure if I would stay because the room seemed too basic for a Westerner like me. But after a couple of days, this place started to feel like home with its friendly vibe.
If I had to make one suggestion, I would say that the rooms need more plug sockets and aircon because the ceiling fans didn’t do much. However, the shared bathroom facilities were abundant – I never had to wait for a toilet or shower in my 31-day stay.
A lot of people got sick with Bali belly, so I recommend bringing some Imodium just in case. This wasn’t because of anything at the hostel, mostly from food eaten off-site.
I highly recommend the 30-day program. It gives you plenty of time to relax, rethink, and enjoy the yoga.

During the first few days, I was accommodated in Serenity Dorms 2, which lacked charm and atmosphere. The rooms were small and unfortunately dark. The entire Serenity team is super kind and friendly, always at your service 24/7, giving their best. After a few days, you feel like part of a big family.
The massages, besides the yoga classes, are definitely worth trying.
The restaurant prices are reasonable and not more expensive than outside.
The resort has a beautiful, well-kept garden with a clean pool and many little details, a place to retreat and relax.
Even the dorms on the property are cozy and clean. They even made the beds every day.
Overall, it’s an unbeatable value for money! I stayed for a week and I will definitely come back! Thank you for everything.

The philosophy of the yoga teachers varied greatly. I felt uncomfortable at times because the focus was always on giving more and being the best at stretching in the class. This really ruined the yoga experience, especially for those who are new to practicing yoga.

There was also a virus going around, with someone different every day needing to be close to a toilet. We suspected it was the food at the restaurant, as no one had such issues before in Bali.

The staff took good care of me – I was brought water and charcoal tablets in the middle of the night and even more the next day. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, making it easy to feel comfortable. They were truly exceptional!

My room, KrisKros, was very spacious and well-equipped with a fridge, mosquito net, fan, air conditioning, etc.

The offer of accommodation and a yoga pass was also incredibly cheap!

There were many class options – I definitely recommend taking the meditation classes, they were really good!

The instructor encouraged and allowed people to take photos during the aerial class, which I found very off-putting. I think they should have waited until after class.

My partner and I got very sick halfway through the retreat, so no more yoga for us. We can’t be sure where we got it from, but we only ate at one restaurant outside Sanctuary and it was always very busy. Others at Sanctuary were also sick, probably because people didn’t wipe the mats properly and the cutlery and dishes weren’t properly disinfected.

The staff gave us a charcoal drink that really helped, but since we were in Sanctuary 2, we felt quite cut off. I even sent a message asking if breakfast could be brought to us because we were so unwell, and didn’t get a response for 24 hours. It’s still great value, just be careful not to get sick!

We spent 3 months in Asia without any issues, and it was our last week of traveling that got us. The classes were great, the pool area was lovely, and the breakfast was delicious. Our room had everything we needed, and the free insect repellent was a nice touch. Overall, the staff were wonderful.

I had to move for one night to Kris Kris, the 3rd building, which I didn’t like too much because of the room smelling of toilette. Serenity Yoga and Guesthouse is a warm welcoming place where they serve you with a smile and make you feel at home right away. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay in the main building due to full bookings. I stayed at Serenity 2 and rented a bicycle to ride back and forth. The yoga classes were challenging in the beginning, since I hadn’t practiced for two years, but all the teachers made sure to explain well, offer position options, and challenge you to do better. In a short amount of time, I gained strength, lost weight thanks to the fantastic alkaline restaurant, and found peace in my mind and soul. I left this humble place reluctantly and wished I had booked for 4 weeks instead! 🙂

I had to constantly show my receipt and argue with them before I could finally book my yoga class.

I had trouble communicating my concerns due to a language barrier. I lost my room key and was leaving the next day. The manager had arranged for a driver to pick me up from a different location since I was going to the Gilli Islands the next morning. They said they would deduct the cost of replacing the key from my deposit. I found my key stuck in the lining of my backpack, but the next day the driver from Eco didn’t show up, so I had to walk to the main building to make sure I didn’t miss my shuttle to the boat. It wasn’t safe to walk alone in the morning. The shuttle driver wasn’t happy when we had to turn back for my luggage. Despite finding my key, I was only refunded the deposit minus the key replacement cost as instructed. I couldn’t discuss the issue further with the staff at Eco, even though they tried to contact management without success. It was very frustrating.
To top it off, there was a noisy rooster that kept me up all night, right outside my window. I couldn’t sleep a wink. On the bright side, the location near the beach was great. Most of the staff were helpful, but there needs to be better protocols in place to handle situations like mine.

    – Stray and sometimes aggressive dogs roamed the area
    – The food at the restaurant was too expensive for the quality
    – Some of the employees do not speak English very well, but colleagues were able to help remedy the situation
    – The staff was very friendly and helpful (although there was sometimes a bit of a frenzy behind the counter, with 5-8 employees, 2-3 of whom were actually doing something)
    – They offer a variety of yoga styles
    – The cleanliness was excellent
    – There were plenty of seating options

As soon as I arrived for my two-week stay, I realized it was a mistake. This place, which I had booked for its tranquility, was actually extremely busy with constant building works causing a lot of noise. I decided to cancel my reservation and leave because it was not what I was looking for. Despite the situation, I have to say the staff were great.

At breakfast, I tried out a bunch of different yoga classes from various instructors. The singing bowl and gong meditation really helped balance my yin energy.

I want storage with a locker to leave my bag after checkout, even if it’s not free. Privacy wasn’t great because you could hear guests in other rooms. The food at the restaurant has room for improvement. The energy of the place is lively.

Some staff didn’t speak English very well, but we always managed to understand each other. The place wasn’t fancy, which was fine by me. Just keep in mind that it attracts a lot of young travelers who aren’t seeking a quiet, introspective yoga experience. Everyone on the staff was incredibly kind and helpful.

The classes were top-notch, and the unlimited pass allowed me to tailor my schedule to my liking. I enjoyed trying out various yoga and meditation styles, taught by both Balinese locals and Western instructors. They even offered classes on Yoga Philosophy and Life Coaching.

The eco-friendly concept was impressive. The restaurant served delicious mainly vegetarian, vegan, and raw food options. The location, right by the beach, was ideal, and the busier part of Canggu was just a short distance away for more dining choices.

I stayed at the second location, which I thought was better – quieter, larger, and with newer rooms. And, last but not least, I met some amazing people during my stay. It turned out to be a much more enriching experience than I had anticipated.

The rooms were not very clean. I stayed in three different rooms – first the shared dorms, which were probably the best and cleanest. The other two rooms I stayed in had dirty bedding. The first one had blood on the sheets, like someone squashed a mosquito, and the second had white stains that looked like…well, you know. Both rooms were supposed to have hot water and AC, but the first one had a broken shower and the second one had a broken AC. I have to give credit to the staff, though – they sent maintenance right away to fix the problems I mentioned.

Most of the staff were nice, but the owner seemed a bit rude. Once, when I was in the common area on my phone, he came over and told me to leave in a not-so-friendly way. Some of the yoga teachers were great, but some were a bit arrogant and rude. One teacher pushed me into a pose that hurt my back, which was really not cool. Luckily, no serious damage was done. Overall, the yoga classes were good, but some teachers were not so great.

On the bright side, the food at the restaurant was healthy and fresh, and the location was great. I appreciated that the accommodation was smoke and alcohol-free, which attracted other health-conscious people and created a great vibe with interesting folks to chat with. It was a great place to hang out.

People were attracted to stay at the place because it was featured in Lonely Planet, even if they weren’t really feeling the vibe of the place or yoga. Some yoga attendees seemed a bit pretentious or serious – maybe they need some face-yoga to remember how to smile! The bathrooms could use a deep clean with bleach, but that wouldn’t fit the zen feel of the place that I know. The yoga teachers were all so unique, each bringing something special to the table – they were clearly chosen with care. The restaurant was a wonderful addition, offering good value and a wide variety of healthy and convenient options.

We originally booked the Moon room, but we asked for a different room because it had a damp problem and stank. We found the room unacceptable, especially since my sister has asthma. After a little discussion, they arranged for us to switch rooms and everything else about our stay was great. The selection of classes was amazing and the instructors were inspiring and excellent.

I wish there were some lounger chairs by the pool and maybe tables on the balconies for lounging. It would have been nice to have some suggestions for first-time sightseers in Bali. Overall, there wasn’t much I didn’t enjoy. I didn’t like that I only booked 8 days. The location, solitude, and proposed agenda were all fantastic. The staff was always available and provided excellent service. The accommodations were perfect for both high-maintenance and low-maintenance guests. Transportation options were easily accessible. I really enjoyed the culture tour and the knowledgeable instructors. The owner was helpful and informative. The atmosphere was laid back and enjoyable.

They are expanding and have building work going on from 8am. It disrupts the beautiful tranquillity of the place. I hope the expansion doesn’t ruin the charm. It feels very inclusive, the staff is all very friendly, you don’t have to be an expert at yoga.

There are lots of little fountains dotted around creating a constant background of trickling water sounds.

The food at the Alkaline cafe is healthy and delicious. I wish they sold a recipe book to take home to continue the goodness.
