Wellness Retreat Indonesia

When we talk about rejuvenation, we usually mean the process of renewing and revitalizing our physical, mental, or emotional well-being. It’s all about taking some time for ourselves to relax, de-stress, and do things that help improve our health and overall well-being. Rejuvenation isn’t limited to one area, it can be applied to different parts of our lives, like when we travel or take care of ourselves personally.

The room I stayed in was absolutely stunning! The facilities were incredible – so well-maintained and spotlessly clean. I was at the retreat for a 4-day juice cleanse, and let me tell you, those juices were absolutely delicious. The only thing I would have liked is if the staff had reminded me when it was time to drink my juices throughout my entire stay. Thankfully, they fixed that by the second day. Oh, and it was interesting because I had different people assisting me with my detox process, so I didn’t really have one instructor. But you know what? Despite that, it was still such a relaxing and overall fantastic experience.

Everything was perfect. Blue Karma exceeds expectations in every way. The price versus quality is outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. The yoga instructor is lovely, the massages are absolutely incredible, and the accommodations are comfortable and amazing. Not to mention, the food is delicious. My experience and vacation were exceptional during my five-night stay. I already know that I will definitely return to this hotel when I visit Bali again.

I thought the food could be better and the prices at the restaurant were really high – especially for the wine! They charged $45 for the cheapest bottle (plus $10 for service and Gov charges)!! And don’t even get me started on the tiny glasses they served the wine in, and they cost $13 per glass!

The construction noise at 8am every morning really ruined any chance of sleeping in, which was a bummer, especially because there was Chinese New Year festivities going on with ceremonial music playing until midnight every night.

I also wished the staff at the front desk were more helpful with transportation. They had a shuttle into town, but it only ran every 2 hours. I ended up either walking to the Pyramids to catch their shuttle or arranging my own transportation.

At first, the website said airport transfers were included, but after I paid for my booking, the staff wanted to charge me $37 for the transfer, which was really disappointing. They eventually provided the service for free (and updated the website right away), but it wasn’t a great way to start.

There was also some confusion about the massage treatments and how many were included.

When you’re paying over $300 for a basic room, you expect to get more for your money.

But overall, I had a great stay. The staff at the resort were amazing – super friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional.

The facilities were top-notch too – the rooms and pool were stunning.

    It’s a beautiful property.

I haven’t been able to use my private pool because the one step doesn’t allow entry for older people. It’s ridiculous to have just one step. However, I would stay there again, hoping they will correct the pool step. Out of all the places I’ve stayed in Bali, this was the best.

I think the yoga classes are too short. An hour is not enough; maybe you could offer 75-minute or 90-minute sessions. I absolutely adore the yoga space! It’s stunning and incredibly serene.

I was surprised to find out that I was the only one enrolled for the Yoga Med Sound retreat. It would have been great to have other yogis to share the experience with. Unfortunately, no one informed me about the Meditation classes, so I ended up missing out on them. The Blue Karma is absolutely delightful, with their amazing Joglo rooms. The staff there is also beautiful, so helpful, and incredibly sweet. It was a truly gorgeous stay, and I would definitely love to return in the future.

The food could use some improvement, but it’s generally good. The coffee is great, and they even offer excellent fruit and homemade yogurt for breakfast – for free! As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. The massages were wonderful, and the staff was kind. The yoga classes were doable – not too advanced.

The yoga sessions aren’t in-house and it takes about 5-15 minutes by car, depending on traffic. The hotel organized a drop-off and pick-up, but I was hoping it would be on-site. Plus, meditating was tough because the resort’s lounge was under renovation. Blue Karma is a lovely boutique resort with outdoor bathrooms in a natural setting. The staff provided excellent and attentive service. And let’s not forget the fantastic breakfast.

I had to leave! Honestly, I was feeling so emotional that I came here to get away from a rough patch in my life. I wanted to unwind, enjoy good food, escape reality, recharge myself through yoga and massages, take peaceful morning walks through rice paddies, explore the cultural side of Ubud. Blue Karma was able to fulfill all my wishes, and even more. It definitely distracted me from my troubles. Plus, the staff were incredibly amazing, always going the extra mile to ensure my happiness with their big smiles! My entire stay was the best ever and extremely serene… I will definitely come back, hopefully soon!

The food at this place is a bit boring. The breakfast looks amazing, but it just doesn’t taste that great. I’ve had the Indonesian breakfast three times, and each time the rice was cold and sitting out. The banana fritters were also disappointing, not crispy at all, just boring.

The juices they serve are too watery. I appreciate the idea, but the pineapple juice had practically no taste.

We’ve visited the restaurant a few times. One night, I had the best mie goreng there, but the next night, I had one of the worst in Bali. The food here is not up to par for a place that claims to offer the full experience. It’s sub standard.

The location of this place is amazing. It’s a bit far from Ubud, but that’s also part of its charm.

The pool here is incredibly serene, and the number of guests is just right. The rooms are fantastic, with stunning views. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The yoga classes are very good, and the yoga hall is fantastic. The massage therapists are also very skilled.

Unfortunately, the blue karma Seminyak doesn’t offer a yoga studio. You’ll need to find a place nearby the hotel for your yoga sessions. While the location is convenient, it tends to get quite busy around the hotel due to its proximity to the airport. On the bright side, the facility itself is stunning, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the pool is fantastic.

I loved it here! The place was simply too nice, making it hard to leave. My experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff at Blue Karma is truly amazing. They were super helpful with my yoga and meditation schedule for my retreat. The yoga and meditation teachers were top-notch professionals. The SPA and massages were fantastic – so relaxing. I also loved the location. Everything was close by and I could easily walk to wherever I wanted to go. They even had a shuttle to the beach, which was so convenient. The Villa itself was stunning, along with the beautiful design and the relaxing smell. The swimming pool and all the facilities were well-decorated and superb. The overall vibes and energy were so positive. As soon as you enter, you instantly feel Zen. If given the chance, I would definitely go again and stay longer next time. Thank you Blue Karma for such an amazing time and unforgettable experience!

I had an incredible experience at Blue Karma Resort Ubud – everything was absolutely amazing! As soon as I walked into the resort’s lobby, I felt a sense of zen wash over me. The property itself is stunning – it’s so clean and picturesque. The staff provided exceptional customer service and were able to accommodate any request I had. My room was breathtaking, and I especially loved how every little detail was so carefully thought out.

The 8:30am yoga classes were challenging but also invigorating – the perfect way to kickstart my day! And let me tell you, the yoga studio/platform is definitely one-of-a-kind.

Breakfast was included in my retreat, and the food was simply incredible! They had plenty of healthy options to choose from, and they made sure you had more than enough food to fuel you.

One of the highlights of my stay was the daily massages that came with my package. They were absolutely AMAZING. If you go, I highly recommend trying out the traditional Balinese massage.

All in all, I can’t recommend staying at Blue Karma Resort Ubud enough. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to Bali!

I really enjoyed my stay at Blue Karma Resort Ubud. The hotel staff was kind and the cottage had a comfortable and cute interior. The breakfast and lunch were delicious.

For those considering a stay at this resort, here are some important things to know (they also inform you at check-in):

    1. The resort offers a shuttle bus service to Ubud Center. They now provide round trip transportation to and from Ubud. Just let them know what time you’d like to be picked up when you’re dropped off. The shuttle runs once every hour.

    2. They offer yoga lessons twice a day at 8:30am and 6:00pm. The morning class is hatha yoga and the evening class is viyansa yoga.

Also, keep in mind that activities at the resort require booking at least one day in advance. They cannot arrange activities on the same day.

The food at BKU was the low point for me. Normally I wouldn’t bring it up, but Bali is known for having high standards. I had better meals everywhere else on the island. Plus, I even found some glass in my fruit salad that slightly chipped my tooth. If they put in a little more effort, the food here could be just as perfect as everything else at BKU. On the bright side, I really loved the chickpea and feta burger. The staff was amazing, the location was beautiful, and the massages were great. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it to friends. I can’t wait to come back!
