Program

Start your day with yoga classes first. Then, have a nourishing breakfast and begin your Balinese adventure with many activities such as reading books, swimming in the pool or the sea, surfing, renting a bike to wander around, or just enjoying the local surroundings. Do whatever you like to make your vacation in Bali a memorable one. Our staff is more than happy to provide any services that suit your needs.

Let’s talk about the different yoga styles you can experience during your holiday:

– Aerial Yoga: Combine traditional mat yoga with suspended postures in soft fabric hammocks. Playfully explore floating movements and create space in your bodies.

– Ashtanga: Follow a guided class with a sequence of postures in the tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Experience a traditional and dynamic practice.

– Beginner: Perfect for those starting their yoga journey. Learn the fundamentals of yoga practice with more detailed instructions in the poses.

– Chakra Flow: Practice a chakra-based Vinyasa with a changing theme each week. End the class with Pranayama and Meditation.

– Chakra Sodhana Meditation: Purify your chakras through concentration and visualization of each chakra.

– Chest and Hip Opening: Counteract the effects of sitting all day by opening and loosening joints and muscles. Decrease back pain and shoulder tightness.

– Creative Vinyasa: Extend the Vinyasa Flow by branching out from the usual sequence. Set yourself free and “dance” your body with the rhythm of your breath.

– Core Strength Vinyasa: Deep, vigorous and energizing Vinyasa for core strength, flexibility, alignment, and awareness.

– Detox Flow: Release toxins and leave the class cleansed, glowing, and rejuvenated.

– Gentle Flow: Balance strengthening and mobilizing poses with conscious breath. Perfect for those who want a softer, slow-paced practice.

– Flyhigh Yoga: Combine aerial and Iyengar yoga. Experience the magic of defying gravity and playing upside down.

– Hatha: Slow-paced practice focused on strengthening, loosening up the body, increasing concentration, and achieving stable breathing.

– Handstand for All Levels: Learn how to prepare for handstands and maintain balance in different entries. Build confidence and discover the beauty of being upside down.

– Power Yoga: A fitness-based Vinyasa practice with qualities and benefits similar to Ashtanga Yoga. Increase stamina, strength, flexibility, and reduce stress.

– Restorative: Complete relaxation and centering of the breath and body. Allow the body and mind to rest and restore.

– Tantric Yoga: A guided, intuitive practice that awakens the life force and helps release emotional and energetic blocks.

– Vinyasa: A dynamic sequence of breath-synchronized poses. Open and strengthen the body and mind.

– Yin Yang: Start with an energizing practice and transition to a deep, peaceful practice for balance and rejuvenation.

– Yin: Slow-paced practice holding poses for 5+ minutes, targeting connective tissues, ligaments, organs, and joints.

– Yin Sound Healing: Combine meditative stretches of yin yoga with the vibrational tones of singing bowls. Promote healing from stress, pain, and depression.

– Yin Restorative: Combine two slow-paced styles of yoga for relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction.

Choose the yoga style that resonates with you and embark on a journey of self-discovery and relaxation during your Bali vacation.

Serenity makes a great place to stay. The location is good, and they offer super healthy and delicious food. The staff is so friendly and nice, you always feel welcomed. They took care of me and supported me to get better quickly when I got sick. The Yoga classes they offer are huge and every one I attended was good. I had a great time and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

I was first in a single bedroom with a fan, and it was way too hot. My “window” faced the shared bathroom inside, so there was no way to get some fresh air. After 9 long hot nights, a room with air conditioning opened up, so I was able to switch. There were construction works right behind the wall of my room, all day long, until the end of my month there. I couldn’t enjoy my room (and the AC) during the day… the noise of the machines was unbearable. I had to shower with earplugs in. And the workers were coming and going through my small terrace, one chair was blocked to hang a sign saying “Thank you for your understanding of the inconvenience caused by the works”. Other things bothered me like the springs in the mattress, the low water pressure in the shower, the hot water only lasting for 3 minutes, the bath towels in bad condition and especially not smelling fresh at all, the flood in my room every morning after a rainy night… Instead of fixing the problem, I was asked by email to put all my belongings higher up… If I had to do it again, I would only take the yoga pass and stay elsewhere. P.S: I was in the Yang room. The pool is small but very calm and surrounded by greenery. The yoga classes were really good. It’s great to have the monthly pass and decide day by day what classes to attend. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. From reception to the restaurant, security, gardeners, housekeeping staff… thank you to them for everything! Very close to the beach, on a rather quiet street. Very pleasant.

Honestly, absolutely nothing. Serenity is a truly magical place. A peaceful, soft, and bright atmosphere fills the air. From the employees to the residents, everyone embodies true gentleness.

I truly had an idyllic week there. The yoga classes were interesting, spiritual, and challenging, with teachers who cared about everyone’s well-being, creating a real connection and interaction. The classes were plentiful, varied, and comprehensive so that everyone could find something they enjoyed.

Breakfast was delicious and different every morning, with fresh, high-quality products. I also dined at the Guest House, and the cuisine was truly top-notch.

The garden is a true paradise. Despite being close to the lively life of Canggu, it feels like being in the jungle, full of trees and flowers, with local fauna like squirrels, birds, and geckos.

The spa and services offered are of impeccable quality, with staff who listen and are incredibly gentle.

Moreover, the Guest House is ideally located; just a short walk from the beach and fabulous sunsets, as well as close to all necessary shops and services.

I felt at home at Serenity. I will definitely return. Thank you all immensely for this stay.

I absolutely loved everything there! The yoga classes at this place are the best in the world. My favorite was definitely the Hatha classes with teacher Qino, but I also enjoyed the yin, power yoga, and sunset flow classes. Qino always gave clear instructions, made appropriate adjustments, and offered different options for all levels. The yoga shalas and rooms were very clean, and the food in the cafe was incredibly tasty and fresh. Everyone who works there is super friendly. The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming, so you’ll never feel bored. I will definitely be returning! I will miss you guys!

I didn’t like that they let people join the class after it had started. When people come in late, like 15 minutes or more, they try to squeeze in between mats and it’s really disruptive. I think it’s disrespectful to the yoga instructors and everyone else in the class. Most places I’ve been to don’t allow it. I had a great time there though. The yoga instructors, Diaz, Qino, and Yogi, were amazing. Their energy was infectious and they were so friendly. The classes were challenging but fun. The staff was really friendly too, and the place was beautiful in my opinion, with lots of plants around the pool.

The food at Alkaline restaurant on the guesthouse premises was a big plus. They had different yoga instructors and styles, all of whom were experienced and adjusted the class to fit our needs. I found the best option in Canggu! The staff is amazing, super friendly, and always working hard. They clean the accommodations every day, making the beds and providing fresh towels, even in the dorms. The yoga classes are fantastic, led by talented instructors. The pool and lounge chairs create a true sense of community. I stayed for 12 nights and hardly left, except for a quick walk to the beach. I definitely want to come back.

Some construction was happening across the road – it kind of affected the peacefulness, but it didn’t completely ruin the experience. I just love it there! The whole place really gives off a serene vibe. The food is amazing – so nourishing, delicious, and reasonably priced. The variety of yoga classes and the professionalism of the teachers are outstanding, and all the staff members are just delightful. The noise coming from the nearby bars
But we can still sleep, it wasn’t really a problem in the end! The warmth, simplicity, and kindness that this place exudes.

It’s a haven of peace for me.
I preferred the dorms for more interactions
The vegan meals, permaculture, staff, and property, I walked barefoot all the time.
The proximity to the beach and shops.

The yoga teachers are very professional and knowledgeable, especially Kemie, with whom I took a lot of inversion classes. They are all perceptive.
    The yoga rooms.
The spa, massage, and wellness area.
The pool, fruit and medicinal trees.

Thank you to the whole team, see you soon!

I wasn’t a big fan of Canggu, but it’s not the center’s fault. If you value your privacy, make sure to book a room with a private bathroom. The single rooms without a bathroom are cheaper, but they’re so tiny that I felt claustrophobic. The staff is incredibly friendly and they go out of their way to prioritize sustainability, local produce, and organic food. The restaurant and yoga classes are fantastic. The dorms are spacious and great if you enjoy this type of travel. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, especially if you’re into surfing since the spot is so close.

We slept in a 6-bed dorm. On the last evening/night, a cat sneaked around our bed and even got partially on it. As someone who isn’t a fan of cats or is even allergic to cat hair, I urgently request keeping cats away from the premises. The atmosphere was incredible. Everything was very clean. The staff was very attentive and helpful.

Some places, such as the bathrooms and yogi dorm, might benefit from a thorough floor cleaning and some handy-fixing, like repairing the showers. At Serenity, the staff is amazing – always smiling, welcoming, and eager to assist. They have excellent yoga classes with highly skilled teachers! You’ll find delicious food at Alkaline, their restaurant, especially the chocolate cake, which is the best. The overall atmosphere is fantastic, and many people who initially planned to stay for only a few days ended up extending their stay or returning because they loved it so much. The noise around the premises is the only downside, but it’s not really their fault, just something worth mentioning. There’s a lot of construction going on, so some classes can get noisy. Plus, if you decide to sleep at Seabreeze, there are roosters right outside. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s better to choose Serenity itself as it’s a bit quieter. One thing that really upset me here was the cat situation. They left a small kitten abandoned, as well as the mom and another kitten. Unfortunately, the mom passed away, leaving her baby all alone. Sometimes, he wouldn’t get food, so my friends and I took care of them. But I have to say, the yoga instructors here are absolutely amazing! I absolutely loved their classes. But what really stands out for me is the staff! I really enjoyed my stay at Serenity! The staff were incredible and so friendly. I even had the chance to meet the owner, who was lovely and extremely helpful when I was sick. The room and bathroom could have been slightly better, but considering what you pay, it’s still pretty good.

Serenity is a magical place. Just walking around is so serene, even though you’re in the busy Canggu area. It’s located right near the beach, which is great. The focus on permaculture and healing herbal medicines was a highlight for me, as well as the amazing Alkaline cafe. The food there was the best I had during my trip. We enjoyed our month-long stay at Serenity and wished we could have stayed longer. We tried out all of the yoga classes and loved the variety of practices and the wonderful teachers. The pool area was perfect for relaxation, and the resort staff were always friendly and attentive to our needs.

However, the only downside was the lack of comfort in some of the private rooms. We tried four different rooms and unfortunately, all of the mattresses were uncomfortable. It got to the point where we would wake up in the middle of the night with back pain. We highly recommend avoiding the Tarzan room as it lacks AC, privacy, and collects smoke from nearby fires. Even the resort staff sometimes smoked us out in the morning when they were boiling water for the restaurant. We let them know about the issue and they were accommodating enough to stop, but there are others in the neighborhood who burn garbage and rice fields, so be aware.

On a positive note, the Alkaline restaurant at the resort is good. The prices are reasonable and the food is healthy. The breakfast buffet was decent, but if you’re willing to spend a little more money, there are better food options nearby.

Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely consider returning.

The wifi is not that great, so you can really get into the zen mode. The towels don’t smell fresh, they could use a better wash. It’s awesome! As soon as I walked in, I felt good. The reception was amazing, they gave me a tour of the place right away and took their time with me. The atmosphere is very calming. The bed is comfortable and shielded by curtains and a mosquito net. The room is also pretty dark, even though it’s halfway outside! They also make your bed neatly every morning. The breakfast buffet is the best! So many different vegan options to try: from homemade bread and peanut butter/jam to fruit, a different special every time (pumpkin, chickpea soup) and coffee, tea, milk, and juices! The homemade peanut butter and jam are so delicious!!! The restaurant attached to it also has tasty vegan options at a good price.
I stayed in the shared room with 3 yoga classes. There are at least 10 yoga classes to choose from. The instructors are super and they cater to beginners. I really enjoyed Yogi with Hatha. And make sure to try the massages! Best neck/back massage ever, Tini really worked on my tense neck.

Other teachers are good too, but they don’t adjust students. I went to Kemi’s class to learn inversion, but she doesn’t really teach it step by step. Instead, she just told me “if you’re not gonna try, you won’t be able to do it.” But I can’t do inversions without someone assisting me, or I might end up injuring myself.
The great yoga classes are with teachers Kartana, Mano, Quino, and Yogi. These teachers adjust students and are passionate about transferring knowledge.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming and calm atmosphere. The yoga instructors were highly qualified and offered a wide range of yoga styles. The eco place was beautiful and incredibly clean. The food was delicious and prepared with love. I also highly recommend participating in the painting meditation workshop with Michelle Chan. Make sure to research Canggu before booking your stay. I wish I had done that because it wasn’t what I expected. It has been taken over by Westerners and springbreakers. Most of the businesses are now owned by foreigners. But if you’re looking to party and see lots of surfers, Canggu is the place to be.

The room I booked was small – just one single bed, no desk, and one dresser. It had two windows, one facing the bathroom/shower area and the other facing the side alley where people were smoking (even though it’s supposed to be a non-smoking resort). It was inconvenient because I could hear people coming in and out of the bathroom/shower and sometimes I could even smell the cigarettes in my room.

The WiFi didn’t reach my room, so making video calls or streaming online was impossible. Other rooms seemed to have no issues with WiFi though. Not ideal for a 30-day yoga retreat.

After a few nights, I asked if I could change rooms or upgrade for an additional cost, but they told me they were fully booked and couldn’t do any room swaps.

In the end, I ended up cancelling my stay after the first week and leaving Canggu. However, despite the accommodation issues, the yoga classes were amazing. The teachers were talented, knowledgeable, and great at communicating. Highly recommended! The staff at the center were also lovely and brought a positive vibe to the environment. The pool area was beautiful, although there weren’t many places to sunbathe. The pool itself was rarely crowded, so that was a plus. I also had a great Balinese massage at the spa center, and the prices were reasonable considering the expertise and the location.

Overall, I would definitely do yoga again at this facility, but unfortunately, my accommodation experience wasn’t the best.

Canggu didn’t meet my expectations, but that’s alright because I mostly hung out in Serenity throughout the day. The noises coming from the rooms next door were annoying, but hey, that’s what you get. The yoga teachers here are absolutely fantastic and they can cover a wide variety of topics. It was definitely an unusual experience for me, and I had to put in a lot of effort to learn new things. The massages, staff, and food here are all top-notch and I genuinely had a great time! The dogs they have can get a little noisy at night, but I could easily go back to sleep with earplugs, so it wasn’t really a problem! Serenity has this magical power to help you relax and escape the busyness of Canggu. You can really immerse yourself in the calming green atmosphere it creates. The teachers there are amazing, each with their own unique qualities. There’s a great variety of classes for you to choose from each day.

My room was simple but cleaned every day, and I felt very comfortable. The showers and toilets were regularly cleaned, and the staff were all so positive and helpful. Every morning we had breakfast with fruit and homemade raw breads, along with a different hot option each day like Balinese porridge, scrambled tofu, or banana pancakes. It was all incredibly delicious. The food for lunch and dinner was just as amazing and always fresh and wholesome.

I stumbled upon this place and it’s definitely a gem. I will definitely come back on my next trip to Bali.

It was my first time in Bali and overall, I was mostly disappointed with the town of Canggu, very touristy with a superficial “Instagram” vibe. Basically, everything is done for tourists so if you’re looking for authenticity, I don’t recommend this town. There’s also a lot of pollution, which can make the sea dirty on certain rainy days.

Regarding Serenity, the dorm I stayed in was clean (cleaned every day) and decent, although there were insects, especially crabs, which was a bit unpleasant but nothing major. Once we mentioned it to the staff, they did everything they could to fix the issue.

The big downside for me was the health aspect, let me explain. From January to March 2020, many people got sick, including myself. We thought there might be a bacteria (maybe in the water) causing the fever, diarrhea, and vomiting we experienced. However, we don’t know more about it, but it was tough for many other tourists staying at Serenity.

However, I don’t blame the Serenity staff, who must have been bothered by this problem too. For my first solo trip, I decided to go to a center that offers yoga classes so I wouldn’t be alone in a new country and could deepen my practice. I’m not disappointed with choosing Serenity! The place itself is stunning with a beautiful pool, the staff is always smiling and attentive, the teachers are excellent, and the vegan food is pretty good. The people I met there were all in a positive and open mood, which made it easy to connect and allowed me to experience unforgettable moments. A big thank you for the three Balinese massages that were included with the month-long package.

I recommend Serenity, and even though Canggu wasn’t a favorite town for me, I would go back just for the kindness of the teachers and staff.

Sometimes the toilet seats in the shared bathroom facilities would be dirty, but that’s because inconsiderate guests don’t clean up after themselves. One of the instructors ignored my request to have some private practice time, even though I had set up my card to indicate that. The accommodations are simple and eco friendly, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. You won’t believe how incredible the vegan breakfast buffet is! The pool area is so peaceful, and the yoga classes are pretty good. Most of the instructors focus more on the modern style of yoga, which emphasizes movement. But some of them also incorporate more traditional practices into their classes. There’s definitely a class and teacher for everyone here! Plus, the beach is really close by (and it’s a fantastic surf spot) and there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place!

We couldn’t find a key to use for the dorm room. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned properly. The beds were uncomfortably hard. If you sleep on the bottom bunk, expect centipedes crawling on you at night. The area here is very damp, so unless you leave the dorm, you’ll never feel clean or dry. Unfortunately, the food made people sick, so I didn’t have breakfast there and ate somewhere else instead. Maybe it was just my bad luck with this dorm. Other people seemed to be fine. The yoga classes were lots of fun, and the teachers were extremely friendly and helpful, especially if you’re new to yoga. The pool is nice. The location is great because it’s only a 10-minute walk to the main area, making it secluded and peaceful. The staff are lovely and always accommodating. We had no hot water, but as soon as I reported it, they fixed it right away. It’s a fantastic place to meet people, and staff and security are available 24/7.

I left the guesthouse feeling slightly disheartened because someone stole my treasured bracelet, as well as my towel and bikini from the rack. The staff did their best to help, taking down my name and room number in case the items were found, and I’m really grateful for that. However, I still can’t help but feel a bit bitter about it. The staff were really friendly, and you could take a quick 2-minute shuttle from S1 to S2 whenever you wanted instead of walking for 10 minutes in the dark. The food was absolutely amazing and such a great deal. The pool was just perfect, and I had a fantastic time in every yoga class (although I left the retreat after a week with sore muscles everywhere, haha!). In Serenity 2, the roosters were very loud (louder than expected) and the bathroom smelled bad at times. Construction was also taking place in front of the main building, which added to the noise. In my opinion, the Dorms here at Serenity 1 weren’t as lovingly furnished as in Serenity 2. However, the staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The food was good, the yoga classes were mostly great, and the location was fantastic. The pool was also very nice, and overall, I felt comfortable.

The restaurant at the Piscine hotel is a definite no-go! The banana bread tastes like playdough, and if you don’t want to be sick for four days like me and many others at the hotel (strangely enough), avoid the restaurant and eat outside for better and cheaper options.

The breakfast was bland. Sure, we knew it was vegan, but everything had no flavor. When they ran out of pineapple jam and we asked for more because we don’t like papaya, they said it wasn’t possible because they had to finish the papaya.

We didn’t eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant, so when we asked for two spoons, they couldn’t lend them to us. We paid 120 euros for a week for the room and yoga, but unlimited yoga for a week costs 60 euros, and we found that the room (or rather, the bed in a dormitory) is not worth 10 euros per night.

The staff is not very welcoming, and there aren’t really any nice places to relax if you don’t consume anything at the restaurant. It’s a shame because we were excited to try the yoga experience in Canggu.

The aerial yoga class was great. The location is convenient, and the room and common areas are clean.

Breakfasts at the resort were dull and unimaginative – it was the same boring thing every single day, and the quality was really low. They really need to step up their game when it comes to cleanliness too. Having smelly dogs in the restaurant is definitely not a brilliant idea! However, I must say, the yoga teaching and facilities were absolutely top-notch. The accommodation was decent considering the price, and the food was alright, although the breakfasts noticeably went downhill over time. It’s worth mentioning that quite a few people at the resort fell sick and blamed it all on the bacterial infection they got from eating the resort food.

However, I must say that the staff at Serenity 2 were incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast they served was not only vegan but also absolutely delicious. I couldn’t resist trying their cakes and visiting their restaurant too, and let me tell you, everything was vegan and absolutely amazing.

What I really loved about the whole place was how everything seemed to perfectly align with their focus on food, yoga, spa, and permaculture. It’s not just that they have all these things, but even the chemicals they use in the pool are carefully chosen. It’s impressive!

I got the chance to join an ecstatic dance session lead by the incredible Deva, and it was truly awesome! The only thing missing was a proper sound system. Nonetheless, my absolute favorite part was the aerial yoga class. Trust me, it’s a must-try experience!

I really enjoyed the food at first, but it started to get boring after a while with many similar dishes. I tried to avoid salads because they were washed in the general water, but most of their dishes had raw ingredients. I’m not exactly sure what their vegan alkaline diet consists of, but I wish they had more dishes based on legumes. We did have moong beans one day for breakfast, but it was an unusual sweet porridge. Overall, breakfast was alright, but the fresh juices were more like purees instead of actual juice.

I noticed there was a jacuzzi at one end of the pool, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. While our room was centrally located, some of the other accommodations were quite far away and the road leading to them could get busy at times. I wouldn’t want to stay at those alternative places, even if they offer a shuttle service. Despite these concerns, I would definitely go back.

Booking unlimited yoga classes may have been a bit too ambitious, but we managed to participate in at least one class per day, sometimes two. There were so many different types and difficulty levels to choose from, and they were available from 7 am to 7 pm. The instructors were all very good, and the facilities were top-notch. In fact, all the staff were incredibly helpful and seemed dedicated to more than just their job. The place was always kept very clean, and it provided a peaceful environment to relax in. The pool area was fantastic, and our ensuite room right by the pool was perfect. The spa treatments were also exceptional and reasonably priced. Plus, the beach was just a short walk away.

The room is very noisy because the door is a sliding door that doesn’t close completely. The beds are very comfortable though! The AC is very quiet and the pool is very clean.

Breakfast is good, but mostly sweet. They always have cut fruit, bread with sweet spreads, and a warm dish (baked banana or porridge).

I’m not sure what was going on there, but literally everyone who stayed in the dorm, including myself, and many people in other rooms too, experienced this terrible 24-hour vomiting and diarrhea sickness. It could have been the breakfast we all had, or maybe something related to sanitation or water quality. It could even be a 24-hour flu that lingers there because of the constant flow of people. Regardless, every single person in the dorm got sick, and this happened over the 10 days I was there.

I stayed at the Serene rooms, which were just a short distance from the main building. The rooms were really nice, although I wasn’t a fan of being woken up at 4.30 every morning by the roosters and dogs right outside my window. It didn’t ruin my experience, but it definitely made it hard to get a good rest. No matter what I tried, like using ear plugs or headphones, I couldn’t block out the crazy noise they made every day.

But aside from that, the setting and concept of the place were fantastic. The vibes were great, and the staff were amazing. Kartana, the yoga instructor, was more in tune with my style of yoga and I really appreciated how he corrected my poses. Diaz, on the other hand, was incredible at yoga, but unfortunately, I wasn’t at his level. I would have preferred more physical corrections rather than just showing me because of my limited knowledge and experience in yoga.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, although I did have one weird experience. I think he was the office manager, but when I approached him at the desk, he just brushed me off and directed me to someone else on staff.

Overall, it was a super amazing experience and I would highly recommend Serenity Eco Lodge.

The nearby beach is okay, but the sea can be rough… black sand and lots of surfers, including the little ones… The instructors are excellent though.
The accommodations in the heart of the complex are really good, so don’t get confused…
The vegan food is good, and the breakfast is enjoyable…

The quality of the Yoga classes is just exceptional. The restaurant serves excellent food with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. The rooms are simple and comfortable. After staying there for 25 days, I can say that it’s a place where you quickly feel at home. The most striking thing is the humility and kindness of the staff, people who work sincerely and with their hearts in the right place. I often saw them getting together, probably to always strive for improvement. And for that, I can only congratulate them 🙂

This guest house isn’t exactly what I had in mind for a yoga retreat. To me, a yoga retreat should have the same people, main teachers, and a structured program. Here, it’s more like a guest house with drop-in yoga classes. You might end up sharing a room with people who don’t even do yoga, so your schedules might not match up – like late nights out versus early mornings for yoga.

Despite this not being exactly what I had in mind, I really loved my experience here. It offers more flexibility, and for the price I paid, I couldn’t be happier. The teachers, yoga classes, variety, and helpful staff were all amazing. Plus, I made a lot of friends with the other guests.

The food was another highlight – healthy and delicious. I loved the banana smoothie and chia bowl. And they provide free water, which is great.

The location is perfect, on a quiet street near the beach. They also offer workshops – I attended the women’s circle and it was fantastic. It helped us form a strong bond with each other.

The hotel offered activities inside and outside the premises, but as an added bonus, guests could participate in extracurricular activities such as conversation circles on site (during breakfast, by the pool, or in the cafe), meetups after yoga classes, or simple beach activities where guests could get to know each other. The atmosphere, service, and attention were warm, eco-friendly, nutritious, healing, and rejuvenating.

The facilities were simply cozy, clean, and very connected to nature. The location is perfect for practicing yoga individually or with amazing native Balinese instructors who convey the pure essence of yoga.

The Balinese massages included in the 30-day unlimited package and the delicious breakfast at the Alkaline restaurant were the perfect addition! Without a doubt, I found the best medicine for my body at Serenity Eco Guest House & Yoga. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back soon to recharge more energy!

The building work happening every morning at 7 am slightly put me off in my room. Maybe they could have let us know about it when we checked in. But I loved the yoga classes, they were a good size and we got lots of help in each one. Aerial yoga was a first for me and I absolutely loved it! I would definitely do it again in England.

The bathroom could have been cleaner, but I understand that this eco hostel uses milder cleaning products. The on-site restaurant options didn’t suit my taste as I’m not vegan, but others have enjoyed them. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. You only need to give 30 minutes notice before yoga classes, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A Late Breakfast is a great spot to meet people. The beach is just a short walk away, with plenty of food options nearby. The other guests were friendly, and the pool area is a great place to relax. My bathroom was basic, but the shower was warm and the bed was comfortable and clean. I would recommend this place for solo travelers looking to try yoga and also be close to surfing spots.

I can see why some people might be sensitive to insects and nature, but it wasn’t a problem for me. Just a heads up, Serenity’s eco-friendly approach means there’s more wildlife around their place. This was my first time in Bali and I wanted a chill vibe, so Canggu and Serenity Eco Guesthouse were just right for me. Check-in was a breeze and I got the lowdown on all the awesome amenities they have. Personally, I was a fan of their intense Balinese massage. And I highly recommend trying out their Ashtanga and Aerial Yoga classes. The food at Alkaline restaurant was right up my alley – sugar and gluten-free. Their raw bars and smoothie bowls were so tasty. The resort is close to Canggu’s main drag but it’s in a quieter area, perfect for evening relaxation or meditation. Oh, and the surfing lesson was the highlight of my trip for sure!

The yoga experience was amazing overall, with different teachers bringing unique approaches. I attended 81 classes in one month and only left one class, which was Hannah’s Sunset flow. It was a total waste of time with no physical or spiritual benefits. Yudah’s classes are decent, but his English could use improvement as the bad grammar and excessive talking can be irritating. Despite this language issue, I hope he can address it by learning proper English for his instructions.

The Alkaline restaurant has some issues with slow and chaotic service. Orders may be served out of order, putting pressure on guests with tight yoga schedules. The breakfast is fantastic, especially the sweet porridge. Improvements could be made by streamlining the kitchen, training waiters in better English, and considering the needs of guests following yoga schedules. The staff at Serenity is exceptional and goes above and beyond to assist guests.

I extended my stay multiple times and highly recommend the shared dorm with AC at Serenity 2. The atmosphere feels like a home away from the yoga studio and is more peaceful.

A special thanks to the yoga instructors – Diaz, Chitra, Mia, Nia, Yogi, Kartana, Mano, Ika Dewi, Todjon, Sida, Amanda, and Lala. Each of you brings something unique to the practice, and I learned a lot from each of you.

I was taken aback when I had to hand over my passport upon arrival. I tried to pay cash for my first night at 1:30 am, but it seemed like the only way to get a room was to surrender my passport. This was really strange for me, as I’ve never had to do that before while traveling.

When I stayed in B7, a dog somehow made its way into the common area near the stairs to the toilet. The second night when I came down, the dog growled and barked aggressively, but luckily it ran away. I have to admit, I was a bit scared.

The yoga classes were tough, but the instructors made it enjoyable. The food was creative and imaginative, even though I’m not vegan, I liked trying out the menu. The pool and massage facilities were fantastic and went beyond my expectations.

The airport ride I pre-arranged was definitely worth it! The driver spoke good English and patiently waited for me for an entire 90 minutes during customs and immigration.

Our room. Not a peaceful night’s rest. Right next to a dog breeder according to the person at the front desk… constant barking and roosters, impossible to sleep well even with earplugs. And these noises continue even during the day. Hearing dogs bark all the time is not pleasant. We had a fridge but no kettle so no hot water available as stated, having to walk 1.5km for a cup of tea is not what I call convenient. The shower didn’t work properly, alternating between hot and cold water. For the price, the room is not acceptable… and not serene despite its name. The Serenity Center was nice with the pool, restaurant, and garden, but not being able to enjoy the services offered when not staying there is inconvenient – hot water, cold water, relaxation room, pool, breakfast, everything is there, thankfully we had a scooter because it wasn’t really close by. The yoga classes and equipment are perfect and there are classes available at any time of the day.

If you’re into camping, then Serenity is the place for you! Personally, it’s not my thing. The mosquitoes at the site are out of control and there’s not much being done about them besides turning off lights and using ineffective mosquito lotion. It’s not exactly a soothing retreat; it’s more like staying at a Guesthouse with a side of unlimited yoga. The class schedule only includes one beginners class and the other classes, though advertised as suitable for beginners, really aren’t. The quality of teaching varies a lot. Nia seems to care more about taking Instagram-worthy pics in Aerial yoga, Todjion is reluctant to provide adjustments, but Magdelena is a fantastic Vinyasa teacher who focuses on real yoga and offers variations for all levels.

During my stay, I had to go to the hospital and needed a doctor, but the staff didn’t seem bothered at all. It took them forever to find a doctor for me, leaving me waiting for over 4 hours. Not the best way to treat young solo travelers. The rooms were terrible, especially considering the price difference for aircon and a private bathroom. One bathroom was covered in dead moths and mosquitoes stuck to the toilet seat and shower. Plus, it was so noisy with parties, animals, and motorbikes.

    On the plus side:
    – The food at Alkaline restaurant was delicious
    – The surfing excursion and teacher were amazing
    – Some of the staff were actually helpful

Some of the bathrooms weren’t too desirable, but staff still kept them clean. Outside your dorms in the morning, it can get noisy with staff and the “fire man” as we started calling him, but if you’re up early anyway for yoga, you learn to deal. It would be nice though if the aircon could be on a timer so it doesn’t wake you every morning when they come in to shut it off. Also, it seems strange that they open the window as soon as they turn off the air. Wouldn’t you want to keep the cold air in as long as possible?! It would be great if the later, more relaxing yoga classes were in a quieter room. The motorbikes and people talking right under you can be very distracting. These are all minor things and wouldn’t stop me from returning 🙂 Everything exceeded my expectations. The classes had a good selection and great teachers. By the end of it, you find yourself in a pretty great routine! The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. I love the mosquito lotion! I can’t wait to go back… hopefully soon!

I loved everything about my stay at Serenity, but I had a bad experience with bug bites. One morning, I woke up with my entire back, shoulders, and feet covered in bites. There were so many that I had an allergic reaction. I don’t think they were mosquito bites, I believe they were bedbugs. The staff mentioned the bites could have come from bugs in the bamboo outside our rooms, but who really knows? I never actually saw any bugs, I just woke up with a hundred bites. People in my yoga class noticed my bites and mentioned they had similar issues. One girl even said that bedbugs were a common problem at Serenity and that’s why she doesn’t stay there, but she still comes to yoga class because it’s great. The staff tried to help by putting coconut oil on my bites, but the next day I had even more. It was too difficult to focus on yoga and meditation with the constant itching from the bites, so I decided to cancel my last week at Serenity and go to Ubud instead. It seems like the bug problem was mainly in the single rooms, the dorms seemed fine. Overall, Serenity is a great place for solo travelers looking for peace and tranquility, as well as the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and practice yoga in a beautiful setting. The location is fantastic, close to the beach, and the yoga classes are top-notch. The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The massages usually start late and end early. The food is alright, but not always amazing. The portions are small. Maybe that’s not a bad thing, but sometimes we need more. It would be nice if they offered a special evening dish not on the menu. They have a great variety of yoga classes. The instructors are top-notch. The staff is super friendly. The setting in the main area is tranquil.

The yoga instructors are awesome and I learned a lot from them. The accommodation is nice, clean, and pretty quiet. The food is okay for me because I’m not a vegetarian, but the taste is nice. I don’t think this is a yoga retreat. They don’t have a set program, coaching, or guidance. Basically, you just get a place to stay and a yoga pass, and then you have to figure out everything on your own. It can be really frustrating, especially for beginners.

Also, the place is way busier than I thought it would be based on the descriptions and website. This is mostly because of the pretty good restaurant and people walking in and out for yoga classes. With the lack of structure, it doesn’t feel like a retreat at all to me.

It’s a nice, budget-friendly place to stay and do some yoga. The classes are generally good, though the quality varies a lot between teachers. The accommodation is nice, the pool is good, and the location near the beach is awesome.

I’d love to see more plug sockets in the rooms and aircon units. The yoga here is fantastic and the whole package is really good value. The massages were a great added bonus and equally amazing.
When I arrived after a 20 hr journey, I wasn’t sure if I would stay because as a westerner, the room seemed too basic. But within a couple of days, this place felt like home. Such a friendly vibe. If I had to criticize something, I’d say that the rooms need more plug sockets and aircon. The ceiling fans didn’t do much. The shared bathrooms were plentiful, I never once had to wait for a toilet or shower in my 31 days here.
A lot of people got Bali belly so I’d recommend bringing some Imodium just in case. I’d recommend the 30 day program. It’s gives you time to relax, chill, and rethink while enjoying the yoga.

I was accommodated 500m further in the Serenity Dorms 2 during the first few days, unfortunately, the rooms lack charm and atmosphere. They are small and, unfortunately, dark.
The entire Serenity team is super kind and friendly, always at your service 24/7, they always give their best, you feel like part of a big family after a few days.
In addition to the yoga classes, massages are highly recommended.
The restaurant prices are reasonable and not more expensive than outside.
The facility has a beautiful, well-kept garden with a nice clean pool and many little details, a place to retreat and relax.
Even the dorms on site are cozy and clean. The beds were even made every day.
Overall, this is an absolutely unbeatable value for money!

Everything at Serenity was absolutely amazing, especially the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

The location is perfect for easy walks to the beach, rice fields, restaurants, and coffee shops.

After visiting Ubud, Kuta, and Seminyak, coming back to Serenity felt like coming home because of the family-like staff.

The philosophy of the yoga teachers varied a lot. I felt uncomfortable at times because it was all about pushing yourself harder and being the best at stretching in class. It really took away from the yoga experience, especially for those who were new to practicing yoga.

There was also a virus going around, with someone new feeling sick and needing to be near a toilet every day. We suspected it might have been the food at the restaurant, as no one had any issues before in Bali.

The staff took great care of me – bringing me water and charcoal tablets in the middle of the night and checking on me the next day. They were incredibly kind and helpful, making it easy to feel comfortable. They were truly exceptional!

My room, KrisKros, was very spacious and well-equipped: fridge, mosquito net, fan, air conditioning, you name it.

The package deal of accommodation and yoga pass was unbeatably affordable!

There were many different classes to choose from – I highly recommend trying out the meditation classes, they were really good.

The instructor let and encouraged people to take photos during the aerial class, which I found distracting. I think they should have waited until after class.

My partner and I got sick halfway through the retreat, so we had to stop doing yoga. We’re not sure where we got it from, but we only ate at one busy restaurant outside of Sanctuary. Others at Sanctuary also got sick, possibly because people weren’t properly wiping down mats and disinfecting cutlery and dishes.

The staff gave us a charcoal drink that helped, but being in Sanctuary 2, we felt a bit isolated. I asked for breakfast to be brought to us because we were so sick and didn’t get a response for 24 hours.

It’s a great deal, just be careful not to get sick! We spent three months in Asia without any issues and only got sick during our last week of travel. The classes were amazing, the pool area was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. The room had everything we needed and the free insect repellent was a nice touch. The staff were also very friendly.

Serenity Yoga and Guesthouse is a warm and welcoming place where they serve you with a smile and make you feel at home right away. The food portions are too small for me, especially at breakfast. I love waking up in the morning and going directly to a yoga class. You can walk to excellent restaurants like The Shady Shack and Cafe Veda in just 15 minutes. On hot days, you can relax by the pool, read a book, and then take a sunset walk on the beach, which is only 5 minutes away. The facilities are beautiful and the location is calm.

The reception staff didn’t speak English very well, making it difficult to communicate with them. Despite being friendly, they struggled four times to find me in their system for the yoga classes I had paid for. It seemed like they were trying to charge me extra money. Even though I had paid for 5 classes, they claimed they couldn’t locate me in their system each time. I had to show my receipt and argue with them before finally being able to book my yoga class. The first time they insisted I pay 110k, even though I had booked 3 classes online for 90k each. They said it was “high season” and the price had increased, leading to a lot of back-and-forth. It was frustrating. Every time I tried to attend my yoga class, they would tell me I hadn’t paid. This really ruined my experience. On the bright side, I enjoyed the peaceful and calm surroundings near the accommodation. The location was great and the atmosphere around the accommodation was pleasant.

Great professors! You feel comfortable with them right away. They adjust their classes very well for both beginners and advanced students. The Serinity staff is available to help you and the beach is only a 3-minute walk away.

During the night, a rat showed up in my room. I’m loving all the classes here – there’s a great variety of yoga and meditation. I find the ecofriendly concept of this place super fascinating. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly, although some of them seem a little confused.

I encountered a language barrier when addressing my concerns about losing my room key and leaving the next day. The manager had arranged for a driver to pick me up from a different location rather than the shuttle to the gilli islands the next morning. They mentioned deducting the cost of replacing the key from my deposit. However, I eventually found my lost key hidden in my backpack lining.

The next day, the driver from eco didn’t arrive so I had to walk to the main building to avoid missing my prepaid boat ride. Walking early in the morning wasn’t safe, and the shuttle driver wasn’t happy when we had to turn back for my luggage. Despite finding my key, I still had to pay for a replacement as per the instructions left for me.

I couldn’t discuss the situation further with the staff at eco, as they were unable to communicate with me or reach management. It was very frustrating. On top of that, there was a rooster outside my window that crowed all night, making it impossible to sleep. I did enjoy the location near the beach, and most of the staff tried to help, but without better protocols in place, the issues couldn’t be resolved effectively.

    – Stray and sometimes aggressive dogs roamed around.
    – The food at the restaurant was too expensive for the quality.
    – Some of the employees do not speak English very well, but colleagues were able to help out.
    – The staff was very friendly and attentive (although there was sometimes a bit of chaos behind the counter, with 5-8 employees, of whom 2-3 were actually working).
    – They offer a variety of yoga styles.
    – The cleanliness was excellent.
    – There were plenty of seating options.

I arrived and immediately regretted booking a two week stay. This place was far from tranquil – it was bustling with activity and loud from the constant building works. I canceled my reservation and left, as it was not what I was looking for. Despite the circumstances, the staff members were great.

Some of the staff didn’t speak English very well, but we always managed to understand each other. The place was fine for me, not too fancy, but keep in mind it attracts a lot of young travelers who aren’t necessarily looking for a quiet yoga retreat.

Everyone on the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The classes were high quality, and the unlimited pass allowed me to customize my schedule with a variety of yoga and meditation styles. I particularly enjoyed the classes taught by both Balinese and Western instructors, including Yoga Philosophy and Life Coaching.

I loved the eco-friendly concept of the place. The restaurant served delicious vegetarian, vegan, and raw dishes, and being right next to the beach was perfect. The busier part of Canggu is also close by if you’re looking for more variety.

I stayed at the second location down the street, which I actually preferred because it was quieter and the rooms were newer and more spacious.

Overall, I had a great experience and met some amazing people. This week exceeded my expectations in every way.

The rooms were below average in cleanliness. I stayed in three different rooms – first, the shared dorms which were probably the best and cleanest. Then, I stayed in two other locations with my own room. In both rooms, the bedding was dirty. The first had blood on it, almost looking like someone had squashed a mosquito full of blood on the sheets. The second had white stains on the dark blanket that almost looked like sex juice. Both rooms were supposed to have hot water and AC. The shower in the first room didn’t work, and even after getting it fixed, there was no hot water. The AC was broken in the second room. I have to give credit to the staff though – when I brought up the issues, they had maintenance come in to fix the problems in the next few hours.

The staff was mostly nice, but the owner seemed quite rude. I was in the common area chatting on my phone when he rudely told me to leave while he was talking to the staff, gesturing aggressively for me to go. Some of the yoga teachers were lovely, but a few were downright arrogant and rude. One class felt like the teacher was a drill sergeant, and in another class, the teacher pushed me into a pose I wasn’t ready for, hurting my back. Pretty dangerous! Luckily, no serious damage done. Most of the yoga classes were good, but some teachers were horrible. The food at the restaurant was healthy and fresh. The location was great! I appreciated that the accommodation was smoke and alcohol-free, attracting lots of health-conscious like-minded people. This created a great vibe with plenty of interesting people to talk to. Overall, a great hangout spot.

People were drawn to the place because it’s listed in the lonely planet, even if they weren’t really feeling the vibe or yoga. Some of the yoga attendees seemed a bit serious and pretentious, like they needed face-yoga to remember how to smile! The bathrooms really need a deep clean with bleach, but that doesn’t really fit with the zen feel of the place, ya know? And the yoga teachers! They were all so unique, but they each had something special about them that showed they were carefully chosen. The restaurant was a great addition – it offered good value, lots of variety, and super healthy and convenient options.

Originally, we booked the Moon room. We had to request a different room because it had a damp problem and smelled bad. The accommodations are all pretty basic, but that’s what we expected. However, my sister has asthma so we couldn’t stay in a room like that. After a little chat, they arranged for us to switch rooms and everything else about our stay was fantastic. The variety of classes was amazing, and the instructors were so inspiring and top-notch.

I wish there were some loungers by the pool and maybe some tables on the balconies for chilling out. It would have been nice to have some tips on sightseeing in Bali for newbies. But overall, I really enjoyed my stay. I regret only booking 8 days. The location, peace and quiet, and the staff were all great. The accommodations were spot on, catering to both high maintenance and low maintenance guests. Transportation was easily accessible. The culture tour was fantastic and the instructors were so knowledgeable. The owner was really helpful and gave us great info. The vibe was super chill and fun.

They were expanding and had building work going on from 8am, which disrupted the beautiful tranquillity of the place. I hope they don’t lose the charm through the expansion. The staff were all very friendly, and you didn’t have to be an expert at yoga to feel included. There are lots of little fountains dotted around, creating a constant background of trickling water sounds. The food at the Alkaline cafe was healthy and delicious. I wish they sold a recipe book to take home and continue enjoying their goodness.

My booking had an issue, just like many others. I asked for 7 nights, but my invoice only had me down for 6. The staff didn’t do anything until a manager stepped in. Eventually, I was moved to an overflow room 15 minutes away for my last day, and they tried to charge me extra at first! They said a golf cart would pick me up the next day for check out, but nobody showed up, so I had to walk with my bags. Definitely not a smooth experience. On the bright side, the yoga classes and instructors at the resort were fantastic. My favorites were Micky, Yogi, and Nikki. Plus, the food and drinks at Alkaline were really good.

They were doing a lot of work during the retreat, like putting in new doors and a roof on part of the restaurant. It was hard to escape the noise and chill out during yoga. My room was noisy at night, too. I asked to move but they didn’t have any other rooms. The wifi sucked in my room and even in the lobby. But the pool and gardens were awesome, and the staff was super friendly. Oh, and the food was really good, too.
