Do whatever you like to make your vacation in Bali unforgettable. Our staff is more than happy to cater to your needs.

Here are the different yoga styles included in this yoga holiday:

– Beginner: This is for anyone who wants to start their yoga journey. You will learn the basics of yoga practice and receive detailed instructions on the poses.

– Aerial yoga: This combines traditional mat yoga with postures suspended in soft fabric hammocks. It allows for playful exploration of floating movements and creating space in your body without compression.

– Ashtanga: This guided class follows the sequence of asanas strictly in the tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. It is a traditional and dynamic practice with deep relaxation at the end.

– Chakra flow: This is a chakra-based Vinyasa practice with a different theme each week. The class ends with Pranayama and meditation.

– Chakra Sodhana meditation: This meditation technique helps to purify the chakras. You will concentrate on visualizing each chakra’s color, shape, and repeating the root mantra of each chakra.

– Chest and hip opening: Designed to counteract the effects of hunching over a computer or steering wheel, this class opens and loosens the joints and muscles around the hips and chest. It helps decrease back pain and shoulder tightness.

– Creative Vinyasa: This is an extension of Vinyasa Flow that aims to bring out happiness and freedom in your body, allowing you to “dance” with the rhythm of your breath.

– Core strength Vinyasa: This deep and energetic Vinyasa class focuses on building core strength, flexibility, alignment, and awareness. It engages your entire body, starting from the center.

– Detox flow: This class helps release toxins through twisting poses, leaving you cleansed, glowing, and rejuvenated.

– Gentle flow: Offering a balance of gentle strengthening and mobilizing poses, this class is perfect for those who prefer a softer, slow-paced practice.

– Flyhigh yoga: A mixed practice of aerial and Iyengar yoga, this class defies gravity and allows you to experience the beauty of an upside-down world.

– Hatha yoga: This slow-paced practice emphasizes strengthening and loosening the body and increasing concentration. It prepares your body for seated meditation.

– Handstand for all levels: In this class, you will learn handstand preparation, build confidence, and discover how to be upside down safely.

– Power yoga: A fitness-based Vinyasa practice, Power Yoga builds internal heat, stamina, strength, flexibility, and reduces stress.

– Restorative yoga: This class focuses on complete relaxation, centering the breath and body, and restoring the mind and body.

– Tantric yoga: A guided practice using movement, breath, and sound to awaken the life force and release emotional and energetic blocks. It aims to shift you into a state of pleasure and bliss.

– Vinyasa yoga: A dynamic sequence of breath-synchronized poses, Vinyasa yoga opens and strengthens the body and mind.

– Yin yang: This class starts with an energizing practice and transitions to a deep, peaceful practice for balance and rejuvenation.

– Yin: This slow-paced practice targets the connective tissues, ligaments, organs, immune system, bones, and joints. It combines aspects of Hatha yoga, Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy, and Buddhist meditation techniques.

– Yin sound healing: Combining yin yoga and the vibrational tones of singing bowls, this class promotes healing from stress, pain, and depression.

– Yin restorative: This class combines slow-paced yoga styles for relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction.

Make the most of your yoga holiday in Bali by immersing yourself in these different yoga styles.

Serenity offers a great place to stay with its perfect location and super healthy, delicious food. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making sure you feel well taken care of during your stay. Even when I got sick, they supported me and helped me recover quickly.

The variety of yoga classes offered is impressive, and each one I attended was fantastic. I truly appreciate everything and enjoyed my time there. I would definitely come back and highly recommend Serenity to others. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

I stayed in a single bedroom with a fan at first, and it was way too hot. My “window” faced the shared indoor bathroom, so there was no way to get some fresh air.
After enduring 9 hot nights, a room with air conditioning became available, so I gladly switched. However, there were construction works right behind my room’s wall, all day long, until the end of my stay. I couldn’t enjoy my room (and the AC) during the day.. the noise from the machines was unbearable. I had to shower with earplugs in. And the workers were constantly passing through my small terrace, one chair being blocked to hang a sign saying “Thank you for your understanding of the inconvenience caused by the works”.
Other things bothered me like the springs in the mattress, low water pressure in the shower, hot water lasting only 3 minutes, old and musty-smelling bath towels, and constant flooding in my room every morning after a night of rain… Instead of fixing the issue, I was just told via email to put all my things up high.. If I could do it over, I would only get the yoga pass and stay somewhere else.
PS: I was in the Yang room. The pool is small but very peaceful, surrounded by greenery.
The yoga classes were really great. It’s awesome to have a month pass and be able to choose day by day which classes to attend.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. From reception, to the restaurant, security, gardeners, housekeeping… thank you to all of them for everything!
Very close to the beach, on a rather quiet street. Very pleasant.

Honestly, absolutely nothing. Serenity is truly a magical place. A peaceful, gentle, and bright atmosphere fills the air. From the employees to the residents, everyone exudes a genuine kindness.

I truly had a week in paradise here. The yoga classes were interesting, spiritual, and challenging, with the teachers caring for each person’s well-being in a deep, interactive way. There were plenty of classes available for everyone to enjoy.

Breakfast was delicious and different every morning, with fresh, high-quality products. I also dined at the Guest House and the cuisine was truly top-notch.

The garden is a true paradise; despite being close to the lively life in Canggu, it feels like a jungle with its lush greenery and local fauna.

The spa services were impeccable, with attentive staff who were incredibly kind.

The Guest House is perfectly located, a stone’s throw from the beach and beautiful sunsets, and close to all necessary amenities. I felt right at home at Serenity. I will definitely be returning.

A huge thank you to everyone for this wonderful stay.

I loved everything about the place! They offer the best yoga classes in the world. My favorite was Hatha classes (also yin, power yoga, and sunset flow) with teacher Qino! Qino always gives clear instructions, makes appropriate adjustments, and provides different options for all levels. The yoga shalas and rooms are very clean. The food in the cafe is tasty and fresh. Everyone who works there is very friendly. You will never feel bored because there is always a funny and friendly atmosphere! I will definitely return there again! I will miss you guys!

I didn’t like that they allowed people to join class after it started. It’s disruptive and disrespectful to the instructors and everyone in the class. Most places I’ve been to don’t allow it. The yoga instructors, Diaz, Qino, and Yogi, were amazing. Their energy was great, and they were so friendly and nice. The yoga classes were challenging but fun. The staff was friendly, and the place was beautiful, with lots of plants around the pool.

I found the best option in Canggu! The staff at this place is amazing – they’re so friendly and hardworking. They clean the accommodations every day, even the dorms, and make the beds with fresh towels. The yoga classes are fantastic, with talented instructors. The pool and lounge chairs create a true sense of community. I stayed for 12 nights and hardly left, except for a quick walk to the beach. I would definitely return!

Some construction was happening across the road, which kind of disturbed the peaceful atmosphere, but it didn’t completely ruin the experience. I absolutely adore that place! It has such a calming atmosphere throughout. The food there is amazingly nourishing, delicious, and reasonably priced. The yoga classes offer a wide variety and the instructors are all highly professional. Plus, the staff are all so pleasant and helpful. I really can’t get enough of this place. The noise from the nearby bars is not really a problem! The warmth, simplicity, and kindness that this place radiates.

A haven of peace for me.
I preferred the dormitories for more social encounters.
The vegan meals, permaculture, staff, and property made me want to walk around barefoot all the time.
The beach and shops being so close by.

The yoga teachers are very professional and knowledgeable, especially Kemie with whom I took several inversion classes. They are all insightful.
    The yoga rooms.
The SPA, massage and wellness area.
The pool, fruit and medicinal trees.

I didn’t really enjoy Canggu that much, but that’s not the center’s fault. If you value your privacy, be sure to book a room with a private bathroom. The option for single rooms without a bathroom is cheaper, but they’re so small that I felt claustrophobic. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they put a lot of effort into serving sustainable, local, and organic food. The restaurant and yoga classes are fantastic. The dorms are spacious and great if you’re into this type of travel. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, especially if you’re into surfing since the spot is so close.

Some places, such as the bathrooms and yogi dorm, might require a thorough floor cleaning and some maintenance work on features like showers. The staff at Serenity is incredible – they are always cheerful, welcoming, and eager to assist. The yoga classes are fantastic, led by highly skilled teachers. You must try the delicious food at Alkaline, their restaurant. And speaking of food, their chocolate cake is simply the best! The overall atmosphere is amazing, and many visitors who initially planned to stay for only a few days ended up extending their stay or returning because they loved it so much. The noise around the premises is the only downside, but it’s not really their fault – just thought it’s worth mentioning. There’s been a lot of construction going on, so some classes turned out to be quite noisy. Plus, if you’re staying at Seabreeze, there are roosters right outside, which might disrupt your sleep if you’re a light sleeper. It’s better to opt for sleeping at Serenity itself as it’s a bit quieter. On a positive note, the selection of yoga classes was really nice! One thing that really upset me here was the cat situation. They left a small kitten abandoned, along with the mom and another kitten. Unfortunately, the mom passed away, leaving her baby all alone. We had to step in and help feed them sometimes, a few other girls and I. We stayed in Serenity for a whole month and we really wanted to extend our stay. We tried out almost every yoga class and we absolutely loved all the teachers and the variety of practices they offered. The pool area was absolutely perfect for relaxation, and the entire resort staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs.

The only downside of Serenity was that some of the private rooms weren’t very comfortable. We actually tried out four different rooms, and unfortunately, all of the mattresses were quite uncomfortable. They were so bad that we would even wake up in the middle of the night with back pain. We definitely recommend avoiding the Tarzan room if you can. It didn’t have air conditioning and lacked privacy, plus it seemed to collect smoke from nearby fires. Even the resort staff would sometimes smoke us out in the mornings when they boiled water for the restaurant. However, to their credit, when we mentioned it to them, they stopped right away, which was really accommodating. Unfortunately, people in the neighborhood also burned garbage and rice fields, so it was just something to be aware of and avoid.

On a more positive note, the food at the Alkaline restaurant was really good. The prices were reasonable and the food itself was very healthy. The breakfast buffet was decent enough, but if you’re willing to spend just a little more, you can find even better food nearby.

All in all, our experience at Serenity was fantastic and we would definitely consider returning in the future.

Only the wifi is not that great, so you can really get into the Zen mode. The towels don’t smell fresh, they could use a better wash. It’s great! Right upon arrival, I felt so good. The reception was amazing, they immediately gave me a tour of the property and took their time with me. The atmosphere is very calming. The bed is comfortable and secluded with curtains and a mosquito net. The room is also quite dark, even though it’s only half outside! They also make your bed nicely every morning. The breakfast buffet is awesome! So many different vegan things to try, like homemade bread slices and peanut butter/jam, fruits, and a different special dish every time (pumpkin, chickpea soup), as well as coffee, tea, milk, and juices! The homemade peanut butter and jam are so delicious!!! The restaurant attached also offers tasty vegan options at a reasonable price.
I stayed in a shared room with 3 yoga classes. There are about 10 yoga classes to choose from. The instructors are amazing and considerate towards beginners. I really enjoyed Yogi’s Hatha class. And make sure to try the massages! Best neck/back massage ever, Tini really worked on my stiff neck.

Other teachers are good too, but they don’t adjust students. I went to Kemi’s class to learn inversion, but she’s not really teaching it step by step. Instead, she just told me, “If you’re not gonna try, you won’t be able to do it.” But I don’t feel comfortable attempting inversions without someone assisting me; I might end up hurting myself. On the other hand, Kartana, Mano, Quino, and Yogi offer fantastic yoga classes. They adjust students and are truly passionate about sharing their knowledge.

The yoga instructors are highly qualified and there is a wide range of yoga styles to choose from. The place is beautiful and clean, perfect for an eco-friendly experience. Make sure to research Canggu before you go (I wish I had!). It’s not what I expected at all. It’s been taken over by Westerners and partygoers. Most of the businesses are owned by foreigners now, according to the Balinese people I met. But if you’re looking for a good time and lots of surfers, then Canggu is the place to be!

The room I booked was tiny – just one single bed, no desk, and one dresser. It had two windows, one facing the bathroom/shower area and the other facing the side alley where people would hang out and smoke (even though it’s supposed to be a smoking-free resort). It was really inconvenient because I could hear people going in and out of the bathroom/shower and sometimes I could even smell cigarettes in my room.

The wifi didn’t even reach my room, so making video calls was impossible and online streaming was a thing of the past. Other rooms seemed to have no issues with the wifi though. Not the best situation for a 30-day yoga retreat.

After a couple of nights, I asked if it was possible to switch rooms (I saw a guest leaving across the hall) or pay extra for an upgrade. Unfortunately, they told me they were fully booked and their system couldn’t do room swaps.

So, I ended up canceling my stay after just a week and left Canggu. On the bright side, the yoga classes were incredible. The teachers were talented, knowledgeable, and communicated really well. I highly recommend them! The staff at the center were also amazing and brought such a positive vibe to the whole place. Thanks to them!

The pool area was beautiful, even though there weren’t many places to lay in the sun. The pool itself was never too crowded, most people just sunbathed around it. And the spa center next to the pool was great too. I had an amazing Balinese massage there and the prices were reasonable considering the expertise and the location.

Overall, I would definitely do yoga at this facility again. Unfortunately, my accommodation experience wasn’t the best.

Canggu didn’t meet my expectations, but that’s alright since I spent most of the day in Serenity. The noise from the rooms nearby was annoying because we could hear everything, but the yoga teachers were fantastic! They covered various subjects, which was unusual for me, and I learned a lot, though it required a lot of effort. The massages, staff, and food were also incredible. I genuinely loved this place and highly recommend it!

The dogs they have can get a bit barky at night, but that wasn’t really a problem for me because I could easily go back to sleep with earplugs. Serenity has this magical power to help you relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Canggu. It creates this peaceful and calming atmosphere that surrounds you. The teachers here are all amazing with their own unique qualities, so you have a good variety to choose from each day. My room was simple, but it was cleaned every day and I felt really comfortable. The showers and toilets were also cleaned regularly, and the staff were always positive and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was great with fresh fruit and homemade raw breads, and they would serve something different hot every day like Balinese porridge, scrambled tofu, or banana pancakes, and it was all absolutely delicious. The food from the kitchen for lunch or dinner was always amazing as well, really fresh and wholesome. I stumbled upon this place and I’m definitely coming back on my next trip to Bali.

It was my first time in Bali and overall, I was mostly disappointed by the town of Canggu, which is very touristy with a superficial “Instagram” vibe. Basically, everything is catered to tourists, so if you’re looking for something authentic, I would advise against going to this town. Pollution is also very present, which can make the sea dirty on rainy days.

As for Serenity, the dorm I stayed in was clean (cleaned every day) and decent, though there were insects and crabs, which was a bit unpleasant but not too bad. Once we mentioned it to the staff, they did everything they could to fix the issue.

The major downside for me was the health aspect. From January to March 2020, many people got sick, including myself. We thought a bacteria (possibly in the water) was causing the fever, diarrhea, and vomiting we experienced. However, we don’t know for sure, but it was difficult for many other tourists staying at Serenity.

However, I don’t blame the staff at Serenity, as they must have been bothered by this problem as well. For my first solo trip, I decided to go to a center that offered yoga classes so that I wouldn’t be alone in a new country and could deepen my practice. I’m not disappointed that I chose Serenity! The place itself is stunning with a beautiful pool, the staff is always friendly and attentive, the teachers are excellent, and the vegan food is pretty good. The people I met there were all in a positive and open-minded mood, which made it easy to make connections and have unforgettable experiences. Many thanks for the three Balinese massages included in the one-month package.

I highly recommend Serenity, and even with Canggu not being a favorite town, I would return just because of the kindness of the teachers and staff.

Guests sometimes left the shared bathroom facilities unclean, especially the toilet seats. It was quite frustrating, but we have to blame the inconsiderate guests.
At the start of class, one of the instructors didn’t respect my request to be left alone with my practice, even though I had clearly indicated it with my card.
The accommodations here are simple and eco-friendly, which is great. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind, making the experience even better. And let me tell you, the vegan breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing.
The pool area is so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding. The yoga classes are also really good. Most of the instructors focus on a more modern style of yoga with a strong emphasis on movement. However, some instructors also incorporate traditional practices into their movement-based classes, which adds a nice touch.
No matter what your preference is, you’ll definitely find a class and teacher that suits you here. Plus, the beach is just a stone’s throw away, and it’s an incredible surf spot. There are also some nice restaurants within walking distance. Trust me, this place is worth recommending.

We couldn’t find a key to use in the dorm room. The bathrooms weren’t very clean. The beds were extremely hard. If you’re on the bottom bunk, expect centipedes to crawl on you at night. It’s so damp here that you never feel clean or dry unless you leave the dorm. Unfortunately, the food made people sick, so I didn’t take advantage of the breakfast and ate elsewhere. I think my dorm was just unlucky, while the others seemed fine. The yoga classes were a lot of fun, and the teachers were extremely helpful and enjoyable, especially if you’re new to yoga. The pool is nice. The location is great because it’s hidden and quiet, only a 10-minute walk to the main area. The staff is lovely and accommodating. When we had no hot water, they fixed it right away as soon as I mentioned it. It’s a fantastic place to meet people, and the staff and security are available 24/7.

I left the guesthouse feeling slightly disheartened because someone stole my treasured bracelet, as well as my towel and bikini that were drying on a rack. The staff did everything they could to help by taking down my name and room number, which I really appreciate. But I still can’t help feeling a bit upset.

The staff at the guesthouse were very friendly and they provided a convenient 2-minute shuttle from S1 to S2 whenever you needed instead of making the 10-minute walk in the dark. The food was absolutely amazing and it was a great value for the price. The pool was perfect, and I loved every yoga class. (I ended up with sore muscles everywhere, haha!) In Serenity 2, the roosters were very loud (louder than expected) and the bathroom smelled partially. Construction was taking place in front of the main building, which was also loud. In my opinion, the dorms here (Serenity 1) were not as lovingly furnished as in Serenity 2. The staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The food was good, the yoga classes were mostly great, and the location was amazing. The pool was also very nice, and I felt comfortable 🙂
Although Serenity 2 doesn’t have air conditioning, there is a personal fan for each bed. Mosquito nets are attached to all beds (in both buildings) – a big positive.

The restaurant at Piscine is a place to avoid! The banana bread looks like playdough, and if you don’t want to get sick for four days like me and many others in the hotel (strangely enough), stay away from the restaurant and eat outside for much better and cheaper options.
The breakfast was tasteless. We knew it was vegan, but everything had no flavor. When they ran out of pineapple jam and we asked for more because we didn’t like papaya, they said they couldn’t give us more because they had to finish the papaya.
We didn’t eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant, so when we asked for two simple spoons, they couldn’t loan us any. We paid 120 euros for the room and yoga for a week, but unlimited yoga for a week only costs 60 euros. We felt that the room (or rather the bed in a dorm) was not worth 10 euros per night.
The staff was not very welcoming, and there weren’t any nice places to relax if you didn’t consume at the restaurant. It’s a shame because we were excited to try the yoga experience in Canggu.
The aerial yoga class was great, and the location is convenient. However, the cleanliness of the room and common areas was lacking.

Breakfasts at the resort were so boring and unimaginative – they just served the same thing every day and the quality was really low. They really need to step up their game when it comes to hygiene. And seriously, having stinky dogs in the restaurant? Definitely not a smart move! On a positive note, the yoga teaching and facilities were absolutely fantastic. The accommodation was decent considering the price, and the food was alright, although the quality of the breakfasts went downhill over time. It was quite concerning to see so many sick people at the resort, all of them blaming the bacterial infection on the food they served!

I stayed at Serenity 2 and I found the dorm to be conveniently located near some local houses. The roosters and dogs woke me up a couple of times, but overall, my experience was enjoyable. The staff at Serenity 2 were incredibly kind and helpful, making my stay even better.

One of the highlights was the breakfast, which was not only vegan but also delicious. I also indulged in their cakes and ate at their restaurant, both of which were vegan and absolutely fantastic. I was impressed with how well everything at Serenity 2 aligned with their food options, as well as their focus on yoga, spa services, and permaculture throughout the property. They even take care to use safe chemicals in their pool, which I appreciated.

In addition to all of that, I had the opportunity to join an ecstatic dance session led by Deva, which was absolutely awesome. The only thing that could have made it even better was a proper sound system. Additionally, the aerial yoga class was my favorite and definitely something everyone should try at least once.

I really enjoyed the food at first, but then it became a bit dull with repetitive dishes. I tried to avoid salads because they were washed using general water, but most of their dishes had raw ingredients. I’m not sure what their vegan alkaline diet really includes, but I would have liked more dishes based on legumes. One day, we had moong beans for breakfast, but it was a strange sweet porridge. Overall, breakfast was fine, but the fresh juices were more like purees than actual juice. I saw what looked like a jacuzzi at one end of the pool, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. Although our room was in the center of the complex, some of the other accommodations were quite a distance away and the road to them was busy at times. I wouldn’t want to stay at either of those alternative places, even with a shuttle service. Despite these concerns, I would definitely return. Booking unlimited yoga classes was a bit ambitious, but we managed to participate in at least one class a day, sometimes two. There were so many different types and skill levels to choose from, and the classes ran from 7am to 7pm. All the instructors were excellent and the facilities were great too. Actually, all the staff were incredibly helpful and seemed to genuinely care about more than just doing their job. The place was very clean and provided a peaceful environment to relax in. The pool was delightful for relaxing, and our ensuite room right by the pool was fantastic. The spa treatments were also exceptional and reasonably priced. It was just a short walk to the beach as well.

I was accommodated in Serenety2. There were a lot of chickens and roosters around, but they didn’t bother me at all. However, the entrance is a big, very loud and shaky metal gate that is being opened and closed all night long by people coming and going.

The room is very noisy because the door is a sliding door that doesn’t completely close. But the beds are very comfortable! The air conditioning is very quiet. The pool is very clean.

The breakfast is good, but mostly sweet. They always have fresh cut fruits, bread with sweet spreads, and a warm dish like baked banana or porridge.

I’m not sure what was happening there, but literally every single new person who stayed in the dorm, including myself (and plenty of people in other rooms as well) experienced some kind of terrible 24-hour sickness with vomiting and diarrhea. It could have been the included breakfast that we all ate, or maybe something related to the sanitation or water quality. Another possibility is that it could have been a 24-hour flu bug that constantly circulates in that place due to the constant flow of people. Regardless, every single person staying in the dorm (and people staying in other rooms as well) fell ill (and I personally experienced this over a span of 10 days). On a positive note, I really liked the yoga sessions in the open air studios. The pool is stunning, and the wifi worked fine. The location was perfect too, just a few minutes away from the beach. The rooms were great, but I wasn’t a fan of waking up at 4.30 due to the loud roosters and dogs right outside my window. It didn’t ruin my experience, but I wasn’t as well-rested because I couldn’t block out the noise no matter what I tried, like using ear plugs or headphones. The location and concept of the lodge are fantastic. The vibes are great and the staff is wonderful. Kartana’s yoga style aligned perfectly with mine and I appreciated his corrections on the poses. Diaz is an amazing yoga instructor, but unfortunately, his level was beyond mine. I would have preferred more physical corrections since just showing me wasn’t helpful considering my limited knowledge of yoga. The staff was super duper, but I did have one odd experience with the office manager. When I approached him at the desk, he simply dismissed me and directed me to another staff member. Overall, my experience at Serenity Eco Lodge was super super and I highly recommend it.

One night, the racket even occurred at 2:30 am, jolting me from my slumber. Despite the fantastic setting, lovely decor, wonderful staff, and perfect facilities, these noisy interruptions made it hard to enjoy my stay.

The quality of the Yoga classes is just exceptional. The restaurant serves fresh products at reasonable prices. The rooms are simple and comfortable. After staying there for 25 days, I can say it’s a place where you quickly feel at home. What stands out the most is the humility and kindness of the staff, people who have their hearts in the right place and work sincerely. I often saw them gathering, probably to constantly improve. And for that, I can only congratulate them 🙂

When I thought of a yoga retreat, I pictured something different than what I found here. I was looking for a more structured experience with the same people, main teachers, and a set program. Instead, it’s more like a guest house with drop-in yoga classes. It’s possible you could end up sharing a room with someone who doesn’t participate in yoga, which could affect your schedules (late nights out vs early mornings for yoga).

My experience was great, but not exactly what I had in mind. On the bright side, it offers more flexibility. I saw that they do offer all-inclusive retreats, but they are more pricey. For the cost, though, I was extremely satisfied! The teachers, classes, variety, and staff were all wonderful. The fellow guests were great, too—I made some good friends.

The healthy food was a definite plus. The banana smoothie and chia bowl were delicious, and free water was a bonus! The location is also great, on a quiet street near the beach.

I appreciated that they offer workshops, too. I attended a women’s circle and really enjoyed it. It fostered a strong connection among us attendees.

The hotel offered activities both inside and outside the premises, but as an added bonus, guests could participate in extracurricular activities such as conversation circles on site (during breakfast, by the pool, or at the cafe), post-yoga class meetings, or simple beach activities where guests could get to know each other. The place, atmosphere, attention, and service were all warm, eco-friendly, nourishing, healing, and rejuvenating.

The facilities were simply cozy, clean, and very connected to nature. The location is perfect for practicing yoga alone or with amazing native Balinese teachers who embody the true essence of yoga.

The Balinese massages included in the unlimited 30-day package and the delicious breakfast at the Alkaline restaurant were the perfect addition! Without a doubt, I found the best medicine for my body at Serenity Eco Guest House & Yoga. Thank you so much! I will be back soon to recharge more energy!

The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but I understand that it’s an eco hostel so they can’t use strong cleaning products like usual. The on-site restaurant options weren’t really my thing since I’m not a vegan, but others have raved about how yummy the food is. Despite that, it’s a fantastic place to stay. I absolutely loved my time here. You only need to give a 30-minute notice before yoga classes, which is convenient. The staff was so friendly and helpful. A Late Breakfast is a great spot to meet new people. The beach is just a short walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The other guests were really friendly, and the pool area was the perfect place to relax. My bathroom was a bit basic, but the shower was warm, and my bed was comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this place for solo travelers who want to try yoga and be close to surfing spots.

I imagine some people might feel sensitive towards insects and nature, but that wasn’t the case for me. Just a heads up – Serenity’s eco-friendly approach means there’s lots of wildlife around their facilities.

This was my first time in Bali and I wanted to take it easy, so Canggu and Serenity Eco Guesthouse were the perfect choice for my stay. Checking in was a breeze and they gave me the lowdown on all the amenities they have – and trust me, there are a lot. Personally, I really loved the intense Balinese massage.

I also tried out the Ashtanga and Aerial Yoga classes, which I definitely recommend. The Alkaline restaurant had a great concept of sugar- and gluten-free food, and their raw bars and smoothie bowls were delicious. The resort is close to Canggu’s main street but in a quieter area, perfect for evening meditation and yoga.

And let me tell you, the surfing lesson was the absolute highlight of my trip!

In sanitary areas, the finishing touches are important as they are heavily used by many people. If you’re looking for more entertainment in nightlife, shopping, etc., you’ll have to walk a bit, about 15 minutes. It’s manageable during the day but a bit more difficult at night.

I found it to be a lovely place to land in Bali. There is peace and plenty of spots to relax. There is a wide range of great yoga classes. The spa is delightful and reasonably priced. The beach is just a 2-minute walk away.

The yoga classes were amazing! I took 81 classes in one month and loved the variety of teachers and their different approaches. There was only one class I didn’t enjoy – Hannah’s Sunset flow was a total waste of time, not even close to yoga.

Yudah’s classes are good, but he needs to work on his English. Bad grammar and excessive talking can be frustrating. Some people even left his class because of it. I hope he can improve, starting with proper English instructions.

The Alkaline restaurant has some issues. It’s slow and chaotic, with food being served out of order. The kitchen needs better organization to accommodate guests on tight yoga schedules. The sweet porridge is a must-try though!

The staff at Serenity is amazing. They work hard in a tourist area and are always willing to help. Treat them with respect and understand their perspective. The yoga instructors and reception team are top-notch. Special thanks to Ria for the excellent massages.

I extended my stay multiple times, and recommend the shared dorm at Serenity 2 with AC. It feels like coming home after a day of yoga.

Huge thanks to all the yoga instructors – Diaz, Chitra, Mia, Nia, Yogi, Kartana, Mano, Ika Dewi, Todjon, Sida, Amanda, and Lala for the valuable lessons and experiences.

I was surprised when I had to surrender my passport upon arrival. I asked if I could pay cash for the first night since I arrived at 1:30 am, but it seemed like the only way to get a room was by giving up my passport. This is very unusual in my travel experience.

I stayed in B7, and the dog got into the common area before the stairs up to the toilet. When I came down on my second night, he growled and barked aggressively, and thankfully ran away. I was honestly a bit scared. The yoga classes were challenging, a bit more difficult than I expected, but the instructors made it fun!

The food was creative and imaginative. I’m not vegan, but I enjoyed sampling the menu. The pool and massage facilities were also very nice, exceeding my expectations. The pre-arranged ride from the airport was well worth it! My driver spoke good English and patiently waited while customs and immigration took a full 90 minutes!

Our room. It wasn’t a peaceful night. Just next to a dog breeder according to the receptionist.. constant barking and roosters, impossible to sleep well even with earplugs. And these noises continue all day long. Hearing dogs barking all the time is not pleasant. We had a fridge but no kettle so no hot water available as stated, having to walk 1.5 km for a tea is not what I call convenient. The shower didn’t work, we had alternating hot and cold water. For the budget, the room is not right…. and not serene despite its name. The Serenity Center was nice, the pool, the restaurant, the garden were nice but when you don’t sleep there, you can’t enjoy the services offered hot water cold water relaxation room pool breakfast everything is over there thankfully we had a scooter because it was really not close. The yoga classes and equipment are perfect and there are classes at any time of the day.

If you love camping, Serenity is the place for you. Personally, I don’t enjoy it. The site is swarming with mosquitoes and not much is done to stop them, besides turning off the lights and providing ineffective mosquito lotion. It’s not really a peaceful retreat; it’s more like staying in a Guesthouse with a yoga pass. The class schedule only has one beginner’s class, and the other classes that are supposed to be suitable for beginners were not. The quality of teaching varied widely. Nia, for example, believed the most important part of Aerial yoga was getting good Instagram pictures. Todjion didn’t want to make any adjustments during class. Magdelena, on the other hand, was an amazing Vinyasa teacher who focused on true yoga and offered three variations of each pose to cater to all levels.

When I needed medical attention during my stay, the staff didn’t seem concerned at all. They were unhelpful in finding a doctor, making me wait over four hours. This is a terrible way to treat young solo travelers. The rooms were terrible, especially considering the price difference for air conditioning and a private bathroom. One bathroom was filled with dead moths and mosquitoes stuck to the toilet seat and shower. It was incredibly noisy, with parties, animals, and motorbikes disturbing the peace.

On the bright side, the food at Alkaline restaurant was excellent and the surfing excursion was amazing. Some of the staff were very helpful.

They are not continuing to clean the beach, which is bad because the beach needs to be taken care of. You can do it on your own, but there is a lot to do, so an organized group is much better. The teachers are very good at helping you correct your postures, the classes are very dynamic, and they work deeply on the asanas. All levels are welcome, which was good for us. Some of the bathrooms weren’t too desirable, but staff still kept them clean. The noise outside your dorms in the morning can be a bit much with staff and the “fire man” as we’ve started calling him. But if you’re up early for yoga anyway, you learn to deal. It would be nice to have the aircon on a timer so it doesn’t wake you up every morning when they come in to shut it off. And it’s strange that they open the window as soon as they turn off the air, don’t you want to keep the cold air in as long as possible?! It would be great if the later, more relaxing yoga classes were in a quieter room. It can be very distracting with the motorbikes and people talking right under you. But these are all minor things and they wouldn’t stop me from returning 🙂 Everything exceeded my expectations. There was a good selection of classes and the teachers were great. By the end of it, you find yourself in a pretty great routine! The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. Love the mosquito lotion too! Can’t wait to go back… hopefully soon!

I loved everything about my stay at Serenity, but I had a terrible experience with bug bites 🙁 One morning I woke up to find my whole back, shoulders, and feet covered in bites. There were so many that I had an allergic reaction. It wasn’t just mosquito bites – I suspect they were bedbugs. The staff claimed it was bites from bugs from the bamboo outside our rooms… who knows? I never saw any bugs, I just woke up with 100 of bites 🙁 People at yoga class noticed my bites, and some said they had the same issue. One girl mentioned that bedbugs were common at Serenity and that’s why she doesn’t stay there. She just goes for the yoga. The staff was kind and applied coconut oil to my bites, but it didn’t really help as I had more bites the next day. I ended up canceling my last week at Serenity and went to Ubud instead. It was hard to focus on yoga and meditation with all the itching from the bites :/ It seems the bug problem was mainly in the single rooms, the dorms seemed okay. Serenity is a great place for solo travelers looking for peace, serenity, and like-minded people to practice yoga in a beautiful environment 🙂 The location is very convenient, close to the beach, and the yoga classes are excellent. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. I especially enjoyed Kartana and Pusba’s classes, but there’s something for everyone at Serenity 🙂 The spa was also very good.

The massages often started late and finished early. The food is decent but not always incredible, with small portions. Maybe that’s not a bad thing, but sometimes we could use more. It would be nice if they offered a special evening meal that’s not on the menu. They have a great selection of yoga classes, with excellent instructors. The staff is super friendly and the setting is tranquil.

I don’t think this is a proper yoga retreat. They don’t have a specific program, coaching, or guidance. Basically, all you get is accommodation and a yoga pass, and you have to decide what classes to take and how to do it on your own. This can be really frustrating, especially for beginners.

In addition, the place is much busier than I expected based on the descriptions and website. This is mostly because of the pretty good restaurant and the walk-ins to the yoga classes. But when you add this to the lack of structure, it doesn’t feel like a retreat at all to me.

It’s a nice (and budget-friendly) place to stay and practice yoga. The classes are generally good (though the quality varies between teachers), the accommodation is nice, the pool is great, and the location near the beach is fantastic.

I’d love to see more plug sockets and aircon units in the rooms. The yoga here is amazing and the whole package is really good value. The massages were a nice bonus and just as great.

When I arrived after a 20-hour journey, I wasn’t sure if I would stay because as a westerner, the room seemed too basic. But within a couple of days, this place felt like home. It has such a friendly vibe.

If I had one criticism, it would be that the rooms need more plug sockets and aircon. The ceiling fans didn’t do much. However, the shared bathroom facilities are plentiful. I never once in my 31 days here had trouble finding a toilet or shower available.

A lot of people got sick with Bali belly, so I recommend bringing some Imodium just in case. This was mostly from food off-site, not anything in the hostel.

I highly recommend the 30-day program. It gives you plenty of time to chill, reflect, and relax with the yoga.

I spent the first few days in Serenity Dorms 2, which are located 500m further. Unfortunately, the rooms lack charm and atmosphere. They are small and, sadly, dark.
The entire Serenity team is incredibly kind and friendly, always at your service 24/7, giving their best. After a few days, you feel like part of a big family.
I highly recommend the massages, along with the yoga classes.
The restaurant prices are reasonable and not more expensive than outside.
The property has a beautiful, well-maintained garden with a clean pool and lots of little details, a perfect place to relax and unwind.
Even the dorms on the premises are cozy and clean. They even made the beds every day.
Overall, it’s an unbeatable value for money! I stayed for a week and will definitely come back! Thank you for everything.

The philosophy of the yoga teachers varied a lot. I felt uncomfortable a few times because it was always about giving more and competing to see who had the best stretch in class. It really ruined the yoga experience, especially for people who are new to yoga.

There was a virus going around, and every day someone was dealing with stomach issues. We suspected it was the food at the restaurant because nobody had these problems before in Bali.

The staff took good care of us – they brought me water and charcoal tablets in the middle of the night and even more the next day. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making it easy to feel comfortable. Truly exceptional!

My room, KrisKros, was very spacious and well-equipped: fridge, mosquito net, fan, air conditioning, you name it.

The deal for accommodations and a yoga pass was unbeatably affordable! There were a lot of classes offered – don’t miss out on the meditation classes, they were really good!

The instructor allowed and encouraged people to take photos during the aerial class, which I found distracting. I think they should have waited until after class.

Halfway through the retreat, my partner and I fell ill, so we had to stop doing yoga. We can’t be sure where we got it from, but we only ate at one restaurant outside Sanctuary, and it was always very busy. There were others at Sanctuary who were also sick. People didn’t properly clean the mats, and I’m not convinced the cutlery and dishes were disinfected.
The staff gave us a charcoal drink that really helped, but since we were in Sanctuary 2, we felt quite isolated. For example, I sent a message asking if breakfast could be brought to us because we were so unwell, but I didn’t get a response for 24 hours.
It’s great value, just unfortunate that we got sick! We traveled in Asia for 3 months, and it was our last week that got us. The classes were fantastic, the pool area was nice, and the breakfast was lovely. Our room had everything we needed, and the free insect repellent was a nice touch.
    The staff was lovely.

Some staff members displayed a bad attitude, especially regarding the bed bugs and when we raised concerns about food-related illnesses. Serenity Yoga and Guesthouse is a cozy place where they treat you with a smile and make you feel at home right away. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay in the main building because it was fully booked. I stayed at Serenity 2 and rented a bike to get there and back. The restaurant at Alcaline is quite expensive. The room at Serenity 2 is very noisy (roosters and dogs all night). The yoga classes are taught by very pedagogical and kind teachers, the calm and serene atmosphere. The staff is very kind and welcoming.

Their restaurant charges too much for food and the included breakfast is tiny. The facilities have a terrible smell that ruins the peaceful atmosphere. The location is awesome and the yoga teachers are fantastic. I really liked my single private room – it was super comfy and nice.

We loved it so much that we want to come back another time. The only trouble was, we stayed in Serenity 3 and every night the rooster woke us up. It made it hard to sleep there.

I find the food portions too small for me, especially at breakfast. I love waking up in the morning and heading straight to a yoga class. It’s only a 15-minute walk to some amazing restaurants like The Shady Shack and Cafe Veda. On hot days, you can relax by the pool with a good book, then take a sunset stroll on the beach (which is just 5 minutes away). The facilities here are beautiful and the location is so peaceful.

During the night, a rat showed up in my room. The classes here are all amazing with a variety of yoga and meditation styles. I find the ecofriendly concept of this place really interesting. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly, even though some of them seem a bit confused.

Great professors! You feel comfortable with them right away. They accommodate their classes very well for both beginners and advanced students. Serenity’s staff is available to help you, and the beach is just a 3-minute walk away!

The reception staff didn’t speak English very well, making it difficult to communicate with them. Despite being friendly, they had trouble finding me in their system four times, even though I had already paid for my yoga classes. It seemed like they were just trying to make extra money. I had paid for 5 classes but they kept insisting they couldn’t find me in the system, so I had to show my receipt and argue with them every time before I could book my yoga class.

The first time they tried to charge me 110k, even though I had booked 3 classes online for 90k each. They claimed it was “high season” and that I had to pay 110k per class, so I had to argue with them a lot. It was really frustrating. Every time I tried to go to my yoga class, they would tell me I hadn’t paid. This ruined my experience.

On the bright side, I loved the calm and beautiful area around the accommodation. It was in a great location and the atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant.

I experienced a language barrier when I tried to address my concerns. I had lost my room key and was leaving the next day. The manager had arranged for a driver to pick me up from a different location because I was going to the gilli islands the next morning. I was told I would get my key deposit back after deducting the cost of a replacement key. However, I found my lost key in the lining of my backpack. The next day, the driver from eco didn’t show up so I had to walk to the main building to make sure I didn’t miss my prepaid boat ride. It was not safe for me to walk alone that early in the morning. The shuttle driver was not happy when we had to go back for my luggage. I was still charged for a replacement key even though I found the original one, as the instructions and money left for me were specific. There was no opportunity to discuss the situation further. The staff at eco couldn’t help me either, despite their efforts to contact management. It was a frustrating experience.

Plus, there was a rooster that kept crowing all night long right outside my window in my private room, making it impossible to get any sleep. On the bright side, the location near the beach was nice. Most of the staff tried their best to assist me, but better protocols are needed to prevent similar issues in the future.

    – Stray and sometimes aggressive dogs were wandering around.
    – The food at the restaurant was too expensive for the quality.
    – Some of the employees do not speak English very well, but colleagues were able to help out.
    – The staff was very friendly and attentive (although there was sometimes quite a commotion behind the counter, with 5-8 employees, of whom 2-3 were actually working).
    – There was a variety of yoga styles to choose from.
    – The cleanliness was excellent.
    – There were plenty of seating options.

I arrived and immediately regretted booking a two-week stay. This place was bustling and noisy due to ongoing construction work, completely opposite of the peaceful retreat I was expecting. I decided to cancel my reservation and leave as soon as possible. The staff, however, were great.

I want storage with a locker, even if it’s not free, to leave my bag after checkout. You could hear guests in other rooms, so the privacy was not the best. The food in the restaurant wasn’t great. The energy of the place was lacking.

Some of the staff didn’t speak English very well, but we always managed to understand each other. The place isn’t super fancy, but that’s totally fine with me. Just keep in mind that it’s popular with young travelers looking for more than just quiet yoga retreats.

Everyone on the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The classes were top-notch, and the unlimited pass let me choose what I wanted to do. I loved trying out different yoga and meditation styles, taught by both Balinese and Westerners. They even offered Yoga Philosophy and Life Coaching.

The eco-friendly concept was great, and the restaurant had delicious vegetarian, vegan, and raw options. The location next to the beach was perfect, and the busier part of Canggu is just a short distance away for more variety. I stayed at the second location down the street, which I think is even better – quieter, with newer, larger rooms.

Overall, I met some amazing people and had a much more enriching experience than I had anticipated.

The rooms were not very clean. I stayed in three different rooms: first, the shared dorms, which were probably the best and cleanest. Then, in two other locations with my own room. Both rooms had dirty bedding. The first had blood on it, like someone had squashed a mosquito full of blood on the sheets. The second had white stains on the dark blanket that looked like sex juice. Both rooms were supposed to have hot water and AC. The first room had a shower that didn’t work and even after they fixed it, there was no hot water. The second room’s AC was broken. I have to give it to the staff though, as soon as I told them about the issues, they had maintenance come to fix them in a few hours.

Most of the staff were nice, but the owner seemed pretty rude. I was in the common area chatting on my phone when he rudely told me to leave while he was talking to the staff and gestured for me to go. Some of the yoga teachers were great, but a few were arrogant and rude. One class felt like a drill sergeant was teaching us, and in another, a teacher pushed me into a pose before I was ready, hurting my back. It was kind of dangerous, but luckily I didn’t get seriously injured. Most of the yoga classes were good, but some teachers were just awful.

The food at the restaurant was fresh and healthy. The location was great! I liked that the accommodation was smoke and alcohol-free, which attracted lots of like-minded health-conscious people. The vibe was great and there were plenty of interesting people to talk to. It was a great hangout spot.

The Lonely Planet listing attracted people who weren’t necessarily into the vibe or yoga of the place! Some of the yoga attendees seemed a bit pretentious and serious – they could use some face-yoga to remember how to smile! The bathrooms need a thorough cleaning with bleach – but that doesn’t fit with the zen ambiance I know! The yoga teachers were all unique, but each had something special about them – they were clearly chosen carefully. The restaurant was a fantastic addition, offering great value and a wide variety of healthy and convenient options.

We originally booked the Moon room, but we asked for a different room because it had a damp problem and bad smell. All the rooms are pretty basic, which is fine, but my sister has asthma so we couldn’t stay in that room. Luckily, after a quick chat, we were moved to a better room and everything else about our stay was fantastic. The classes were amazing with inspiring and excellent instructors.

I wish there were some lounge chairs by the pool and maybe tables on the balconies for lounging. It would have been nice to have some suggestions for sightseeing in Bali for first-timers. Overall, there wasn’t much that I didn’t enjoy. I wasn’t happy that I only booked 8 days. The location, peace and quiet, and the planned activities were all top-notch. The staff were always available and provided excellent service. The accommodations were perfect for both high-maintenance and low-maintenance guests. Transportation services were easily accessible. I especially loved the cultural tour and the knowledgeable instructors. The owner was helpful and informative. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable.

They are expanding and there is building work going on from 8am. It disrupts the beautiful tranquillity of the place. I hope the charm is not lost through the expansion. The staff are all very friendly and make everyone feel welcome, you don’t have to be an expert at yoga to feel included. There are lots of little fountains dotted around that create a constant background of trickling water sounds. The food at the Alkaline cafe is healthy and delicious. I wish they sold a recipe book to take home and continue the goodness.
