Ubud, Bali offers the perfect 3-day retreat combining a honeymoon and yoga holiday in a serene environment.

I guess ants have to live somewhere too when out in nature, right? The package was amazing, and they treated me with so much kindness and generosity. The highlight for me was definitely the yoga teacher Tini – she’s a fantastic yoga therapist. The choices of trips and excursions were great, and the spa treatments were top-notch. It was truly amazing.

The cooking course was the best part of the trip, and the yoga teacher was amazing. The room was nice too.

I have traveled a lot, including staying in expensive hotel chains, but I have never encountered the warm and heartfelt hospitality that I experienced at Purana. At Purana, they take care of everything and it is definitely the top address in Ubud. There are other cafes and restaurants around the hotel, as well as a club with a large swimming pool, so you can enjoy a variety of meals outside the hotel. The grounds are like a small green paradise and very well maintained. The hotel offers a shuttle to the city center, which is a big plus for solo travelers. The package I booked included everything I needed to experience the typical Bali, with the yoga class being particularly special and the massages highly recommended. I came back 100% refreshed and would choose and recommend this hotel again and again. Thank you very much!

Everything was perfect. However, I have a simple suggestion. I find it unfortunate that the restaurant is located at the reception level and takes up the space of the lobby. The restaurant should be placed in a different location for more privacy, or on a higher floor. I had a magnificent and high-quality stay at the Purana Boutique Resort.

Tini, the yoga teacher, is amazing because she also gives therapeutic massages.

I loved the candlelit dinner. The team puts in all their efforts to make it a magical moment, and the meal prepared by the chef was excellent.

I also loved the beauty and comfort of the private villa and the room with a private pool. I also enjoyed the massage and facial treatment. For these two, I requested to have them done directly in their salon at the Purana Suites, rather than in the room.

And the day spent with August on the excursion was amazing. August is very professional and has a true sense of customer service with excellent communication in English. He does everything possible to ensure your satisfaction. Thank you to him.

I loved staying at Purana Suite. The staff there made me feel so welcome and cozy. Tini, my yoga teacher, was fantastic. She really helped me and I’m grateful for meeting her. Noru, the driver, was incredible. He took me around town for my purification and the cooking class was a blast. Thank you so much!

Mir hat einfach alles gefallen – die Mitarbeiter waren so nett und zuvorkommend, sie haben mir immer weitergeholfen und sich super um mich gekümmert. Die yoga Stunden und Massagen waren auch super. Die Lage war auch gut, nur etwa 15 Minuten Fußweg zum Zentrum. Sie bieten auch einen kostenlosen Shuttle-Service an. Ich werde das Resort definitiv weiterempfehlen!

I did not enjoy the breakfast I paid extra for. The options were limited, the chef couldn’t fry an egg properly, and it arrived cold in my room because they had to transport it from another location. I would even order it at specific times and it would still be delivered late, about 30-45 minutes after the requested time. The yoga at the retreat was disappointing too. While I understand they had to let some staff go because of Covid, they should have hired someone with more experience. The instructor, Juli, was nice but she kept doing the same basic yoga sequence every day, without any modifications for my specific back issues. It didn’t flow well, wasn’t relaxing, and didn’t feel like a good workout at all. When she asked me to do poses I couldn’t do, she didn’t offer any alternatives. However, she was good at helping me stretch and correcting my posture. The one bedroom pool villa was lovely and comfy, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The shuttle services were great and the staff really went out of their way to assist. But overall, the resort needs to make more effort to enhance the yoga experience and make it feel more like a true retreat. There were no music, aromatherapy, incense, or community vibe. The instructor didn’t even do an introduction to set the intentions for the practice, which I found odd.

I loved the peace and beauty of the private villas at Purana Boutique hotel. The yoga instructor’s lessons were fantastic and the Purana staff provided exceptional service. I don’t have any negative comments at all.

The staff genuinely cared for us and took the time to chat and make us feel very welcome. They were both professional and hard-working while also going above and beyond to ensure nothing was too much trouble. We were pleasantly surprised by the small touches they added throughout our stay.

The team of professionals provided unwavering customer service in a calm and still atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. They made drop off and pick up in Ubud city centre convenient. Thank you to all the staff for helping me reset my body and calm my mind perfectly.

Calling this a yoga and cycling retreat is misleading. The yoga was super basic and the instructor ghosted us one day. The rooms were gorgeous and top-notch. The staff was amazing and really took care of us.

I had a fantastic and peaceful break at the resort. The food was great and the daily yoga and massage were really enjoyable. The staff, including Tude, Putri, August, and Nita, were excellent – always smiling and attentive. They accommodated changes to my itinerary without hesitation. Overall, I really enjoyed my short stay at Purana.

The restaurant may not be in a great location, but that’s no big deal because Ubud is just 5-8 mins away with plenty of amazing eateries. We’ve been around, but this place is definitely the best for the price. The villa is stunning, secluded, and we were treated like royalty. August, our butler, was absolutely amazing at his job. I wish he worked for me! Doing yoga every day next to our private pool was so inspiring and getting breakfast delivered right after was a real treat. We’re already planning a longer stay.

I only have one small complaint about the room service food – the duck spring rolls and calamari rings weren’t as fresh as I would have liked. But the Crispy Duck made up for it, it was amazing!

I was really looking forward to the candlelight dinner that was included in my package, but unfortunately it was raining so they couldn’t do the full setup with petals in the pool. I was a little disappointed, but I understood. The 3-course meal wasn’t exactly to my taste, though.

The best parts of my stay at Purana were:

1) The beautiful villa with a private pool – having an outdoor bath and shower was incredible. Just a heads up, though, if you’re scared of spiders and other critters, Ubud might not be the best place for you.

2) I had never done yoga before, but my instructor was patient and made me feel really comfortable.

3) Breakfast served every morning in my villa was the best. The menu had so many options and I even got to enjoy a “floating breakfast” one day.

4) I took a private excursion trip around the North of Ubud, which was amazing. My butler, Adi, was so helpful and provided some great historical context.

Overall, I highly recommend staying at Purana. It’s a beautiful resort with excellent customer service.

I had an amazing stay at Purana Boutique Resort. The staff was friendly, obliging, and efficient. My villa was immaculate and had everything I needed. It was so quiet and peaceful, I didn’t even see another guest. The meals were exquisite. I wish I had stayed longer. It was probably my best holiday on my own. I’ll definitely be returning.
