The retreat is happening in the peaceful village of Silungan, located in the beautiful Ubud region. It’s just a short 10-minute drive from the center of Ubud and about 90 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Silungan Village is known for its traditional charm and is highly respected by the Balinese for its spiritual significance. The name “Ubud” actually comes from the word Ubad, which means medicine, highlighting the healing properties of the local plants. Ubud is a special place in Bali, filled with spirituality and a haven for those looking for peace, inspiration, and a connection to the arts, culture, dance, and music. It’s surrounded by nature, offering a healing and comforting atmosphere. Banjar Silungan, located in Lodtunduh village, is a unique destination for those seeking a nature-filled retreat, spiritual healing, and a culturally enriching holiday.
The Balinese word “Perantenan” is the inspiration behind the name of the dining area at our restaurant. It is located on the upper level of the lobby, offering a fantastic view of the pool and natural landscape. This creates a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, perfect for indulging in iced cold beers and cocktails. We took great care in designing the restaurant with Balinese architecture in mind, using features such as tiled floors, solid wood, and an alang-alang grass roof. This creates a luxurious atmosphere that truly embodies the essence of Ubud.
Our lunch menu consists of light and healthy options, including a variety of sandwiches and salads. As the evening approaches, our menu transforms into a delightful mix of western, Asian, and signature dishes created by our talented chef. Enjoy these delicious meals in a traditional Balinese dinner setting. Additionally, we have a weekly cultural dinner program that provides an authentic Ubud experience.
We are pleased to offer a variety of meals that are included with your stay. These include breakfast and dinner, allowing you to start your day off right and end it on a satisfying note.
You will get 2 nights of accommodation. You will also enjoy 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 2 dinners. We will provide you with complimentary bottled mineral water. Each day, you can join in for yoga, meditation, and pranayama. Additionally, you will have access to tea and coffee-making facilities. Experience a sound healing therapy session to relax your mind and body. As a warm welcome, we will present you with a fruit basket. Lastly, indulge in a soothing massage treatment.
We offer airport transfers, additional treatments, flight tickets, visas, and insurance.

November 30, 2023 at 12:00 amDewi, the yoga, meditation, and sound healing facilitator, was absolutely amazing! She was so calm, friendly, and accommodating to my ability levels. I had never tried Breathwork and an ice bath before, but they turned out to be incredibly healing experiences for me.

October 9, 2023 at 12:00 amI thought it was a bit pricey, but the attentive treatment made up for it. Maybe I’m just used to traveling on a budget. The room looked great, but the walls were so thin that you could hear everything happening around you. However, I truly enjoyed this retreat. It exceeded my expectations. The yoga classes were the right mix of challenge, and the sound healing and breath work played a crucial role in the healing aspect. I really appreciated everything about this experience, and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to do it.

October 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI have no complaints at all! Everything was absolutely awesome and exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The schedule they arranged for me was just perfect. They provided an abundance of food options and meals, making sure I never went hungry. I felt like a true royalty during my solo experience. The location, surrounded by breathtaking rice paddies, was incredibly beautiful and peaceful.

September 26, 2023 at 12:00 amI’m really disappointed and sad about this retreat I had high expectations for. The communication has been poor and the program doesn’t match what was promised in the package and schedule. It’s not my first time in Bali, so I don’t understand why I paid for a retreat that lasted less than a day and a half, when the website said it would be three days.
To make matters worse, the room was nothing like the photo and it was close to a noisy construction site. There was also a bad smell and humidity in the room. I had to pay for my own lunch on the first day and all the beverages throughout the day.
The 7am classes are supposed to be free for hotel guests, but the last class wasn’t even taught by one of the retreat’s instructors. The breathwork and ice bath took place in my room, which was a big surprise. Not all the yoga classes were held at the yoga shala.
The schedule was packed for one day and hardly anything was planned for the arrival and departure days. It’s not a retreat for solo travelers because it’s held in a romantic hotel filled with couples, and all the classes are private. This wasn’t mentioned initially.
Lastly, this retreat is way too expensive for just one day of activities. I was really disappointed to not receive any response to my message expressing my dissatisfaction.
I believe this retreat could have been great if they provided accurate information. I did love the class with Dewie, as well as the breathwork and ice bath. I thought those activities were amazing.
The hotel itself is nice, although there’s a serious issue with humidity and construction nearby. The food was good, and the hotel staff were lovely.

July 27, 2023 at 12:00 amThis retreat is not what you’re looking for if you want a proper wellness/spiritual experience. The pictures don’t match up with the hotel, like the one with a woman doing yoga by the pool and the yoga deck. It turns out that this is just a person who sets up activities at various hotels and sends teachers for the classes. No one from Shakti actually manages or organizes the activities at the hotel. It was a complete nightmare. I ended up feeling like an employee, trying to coordinate between the hotel and the teachers. I had to constantly message the teachers to figure out where and when the activities would take place. Definitely not the relaxing and disconnected experience I was hoping for. The hotel didn’t even know about the booking or the retreat, so there was a lot of disorganization and a lack of management and professionalism from Shakti. When I arrived at the hotel, I had no idea that the retreat wasn’t directly organized by them. The first yoga class didn’t even happen in a yoga studio, it was just in a common area of the hotel with people walking by. Lila, the owner at Shakti, didn’t handle any of the problems that came up and instead sent the teachers to deal with them. She never reached out to apologize or offer a solution. The retreat is way overpriced for what you get in terms of quality and value. Luckily, I was moved to a much better hotel and room by mistake, which ended up being in a beautiful location with friendly people and delicious food. So, all the things I liked about my experience were actually related to the hotel itself, not the retreat.

July 20, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Wakanda is definitely not the right place for a yoga retreat. They made a poor choice by placing the yoga room right next to the noisy restaurant bar. So, while you’re trying to find inner peace and meditate, you’re forced to listen to loud music and the constant chatter and laughter of the restaurant patrons. It’s clear that the customers at Wakanda couldn’t care less about yoga and meditation classes.
To make matters worse, the food at the restaurant is the most tasteless you’ll find in Bali. It’s a major disappointment.
Although the room itself is nice and spacious, it reeks of a terrible smell, like a damp and musty old sock mixed with the stench of the drains. Unfortunately, the same smell lingers in the spa as well.
Ironically, I was given the noisiest room right in front of the restaurant bar. It was a complete nightmare trying to sleep with all the noise.
However, if you’re solely interested in quality yoga classes in a beautiful location, then yes, you can consider going to The Wakanda. The yoga sessions conducted by Lila are absolutely fabulous. She is an amazing person with incredible energy, and her yoga instruction is top-notch. In fact, I believe she may be the best yoga instructor I’ve ever had.
Furthermore, the breathwork and ice bath session was absolutely awesome.
The yoga room itself is stunning, with a breathtaking view surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.
Additionally, the spa offers excellent massages in a pleasant setting.

July 18, 2023 at 12:00 amI had an amazing experience at Shakti Wellness. The instructors were so friendly and really went out of their way to connect with each of us and see how they could support us on our personal journeys. The sessions struck a perfect balance between being super calming and pushing us to challenge ourselves. I’m already excited to come back again someday.

August 23, 2022 at 12:00 amI found the food to be a little disappointing, but the overall price for the services received seemed a bit too high. However, I must say that the overall ambience was incredibly serene, and the facilities were all good. Plus, the staff was really friendly.

August 18, 2022 at 12:00 amThere is not a dedicated yoga space here. It’s more like a hotel that offers services, rather than a yoga retreat, so expect to see families and other travelers who may not be in a very calm state of mind during your stay. People come and go from this retreat at different times to accommodate various schedules. Even though yoga by the pool was nice, most classes take place on a cramped balcony that can only be accessed through your private room. The photos in the listing are not accurate. There is no refrigerator in the room. However, the breathe workshop was absolutely amazing! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the teachers were wonderful. The massage and zen walk were both delightful.

July 18, 2022 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, my candlelight meditation got cancelled, but I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. The location was fantastic, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The hotel was new and up and coming, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, with a perfect balance of flavors. The yoga practice and teaching were top-notch, and the massage I had was one of the best ever! The Breathwork and Ice Bath experience was truly unforgettable. I really connected with Lila and Vena, and all the other teachers were fantastic as well. One thing I loved about short time retreats is that you can unwind and practice yoga without feeling overwhelmed. Lila’s personal approach was incredible, and I felt so well taken care of.
