Program

Pre-application requirements

You need to be a graduate of a 200-hour yoga teachers program from a certified school.

Certifications

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a 300-hour yoga teacher training certificate.

Course information

In this course, we focus on Hatha intermediate and advanced asanas and Tantra meditations from Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. You will also learn advanced pranayama techniques, meditation practices, structural anatomy, and philosophy. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to teach and assist with hands-on adjustments during the asana classes.

Syllabus

1. Pavanmuktasana I, II, and III series (preparatory asana practices)

Let’s start by practicing the Pavanmuktasana series with synchronized breathing. This series relaxes the body-mind and prepares you for the rest of the practice. It improves joint tension, releases stiffness, warms up the body, and strengthens the digestive system. These preparatory exercises help release initial energetic blocks in the body before moving on to the asana practice.

2. Suryanamaskar and Chandranamaskar

Practice and teach traditional Suryanamaskar with variations. Learn to link poses together with the breath and add chanting for a unique experience. Chandranamaskar relates to lunar phases, promoting relaxation and creativity.

3. Asana practice and teaching

Explore standing, sitting, forward bend, lateral extension, abdominal, backward extension, and inversion asanas. Understand alignment, strength, and mobility in different poses. These asanas work on stretching, toning, and strengthening the body.

4. Advanced group of asanas

Master beginning and intermediate level poses before moving on to advanced asanas. Focus on flexibility, strength, and balance to deepen your practice gradually.

5. Restorative asana practice

Take part in Restorative yoga using props to relax the body and mind. Learn how to come into inversions and hold poses for deep relaxation.

6. Yoga for three dosha and yogic diet

Discover how to balance Vata, Pitta, and Kapha through yoga practices and diet. Understand your body type and practice sequences to maintain good health.

7. Shatkriyas (yogic detox)

Engage in purification practices to detoxify the body and create balance. These practices help deepen your yoga practice and promote overall well-being.

8. Pranayama basic, intermediate, and advanced with Bandhas

Learn calming breathing techniques and advanced practices to stimulate energy flow. Integrate mantras, mudras, and Bandhas into your practice for a holistic experience.

9. Mudras and Bandhas

Practice Mudras for good health and combine them with pranayama and Bandhas. Learn how to seal pranas in specific areas for spiritual awakening.

10. Yogi and contemporary transforming meditations

Explore the value of meditation in yoga practice. Learn active meditations for relaxation and mindfulness in a modern lifestyle.

11. Karma yoga

Experience selfless action through Karma yoga to serve the community and environment. Practice giving without expecting anything in return.

12. Human physical anatomy and physiology

Dive into human anatomy and physiology, understanding body systems, chakras, and energy flow. Learn how Hatha yoga activates Kundalini energy for transformation.

13. Yoga philosophy intermediate and advanced

Study the origins and evolution of yoga, focusing on specific texts like Hathayogpradipika and Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. Dive into yoga philosophy and its traditional aspects.

14. Yogasutras of Patanjali

Explore the eight limbs of Patanjali yoga and follow the yamas and niyamas for a unified yoga experience. Understand the milestones on the path of yoga through the Yogasutras.

15. Bhagwadgita

Delve into the spiritual teachings of Bhagwadgita and explore different paths of realization. Gain wisdom from Sri Krishna’s teachings on various spiritual paths.

16. Ethics for teachers

Establish a healthy learning environment based on the Yamas and Niyamas ethics. Understand the responsibilities and guidelines for both student and teacher to create a sincere space for learning.

17. Teaching methodology

Assist and adjust in classes to develop awareness about poses and alignment techniques. Utilize anatomical principles to ensure safe and effective practices for students.

18. Practice teaching led class

Practice teaching various yoga practices within the group setting, including asanas, pranayama, and meditation sequences. Gain confidence in teaching advanced classes with guidance.

19. Planning and sequencing the class

Learn to plan classes effectively, considering variations and modifications for different levels of students. Focus on sequencing practices for mixed age groups and using props to empower and support students.

20. Communication skills

Practice clear communication skills through verbal instructions, visual demonstrations, and adjustments in poses. Improve communication using body language, tone, and expression to enhance the teaching experience.

21. Business aspects of teaching yoga

Discuss ethical practices for starting and managing a yoga business. Explore opportunities for teaching yoga and organizing workshops while maintaining a professional and ethical approach.

22. Yoga Nidra

Experience deep relaxation through guided Yoga Nidra sessions. Release tension in the body and mind for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.

23. Observing the class while another teacher is teaching

Observe classes led by other teachers to learn and grow from their techniques. Take note of positive qualities and areas for improvement in both teaching and student experiences.

23. Assisting and adjusting students

Practice offering adjustments in poses to support safe and natural posture. Understand the importance of proper alignment to prevent injuries and maximize the benefits of each asana.

24. Ethics for teachers

Follow the signed code of ethics to maintain a sincere learning environment. Demonstrate ethical qualities through actions, thoughts, and words to create a healthy space for growth.

25. Teacher's qualities

Reflect on the qualities that make a great teacher and incorporate ethics into your daily practice. Embrace the role of eternal students and aspiring teachers while fostering a culture of growth and learning.
