February 20, 2024 at 12:00 amThe rooms were great, but the neighbours could be noisy because sound travels in this beautiful location. The food was outstanding and there was a good variety of classes to choose from, so there was something for everyone. We really enjoyed the steam room and cold plunge. We also rented a scooter from the resort and had a blast exploring the island. The check-in and check-out process, as well as the pickup and drop-off to the ferry terminal, were seamless. The resort had a very social vibe with guests of all different nationalities, singles, couples, and groups. They did a great job of keeping everything clean and even sent plenty of water to our rooms.

January 29, 2024 at 12:00 amJ’ai passé une semaine incroyable!

December 20, 2023 at 12:00 amThe classes were completely full, which was not enjoyable at all. You were constantly bumping into the people next to you because it was so crowded. I ended up skipping some classes to relax and have a more positive experience on my own. Some of the teachers were a total joke. There was this lady named Nadja who had a really negative attitude. She never said hi, got defensive when asked questions, and kept talking about another retreat that she thought was better. It was strange because we all paid to be here and she was telling us to go somewhere else Plus, she was always outside smoking cigarettes, which didn’t leave a good impression on me. Despite that, I did enjoy the location and the food. The facilities were great, except for the terrible smell around the houses. It was everywhere and made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the peace.

November 20, 2023 at 12:00 amThe location feels like you’re on the edge of the world, which is amazing. However, it can be challenging because the nearest village is a bit far, so you’ll need to take a taxi unless you can drive a scooter. Taxis are pricey, as is the case in all Thai islands.
When booking, I recommend choosing private accommodation. The dorms are usually packed with 5-6 people sharing a small space, and the center is always crowded. If you want some privacy, a private room is the better option. This retreat might just be one of the best ever! Wonderland is nestled in the lush forest, offering top-notch facilities that are always clean and comfortable. You’ll have access to an amazing pool, sauna, and spa. The food is a highlight – the most delicious vegan meals you can imagine. The instructors are highly professional, offering various levels and styles of yoga and meditation. Wonderland truly lives up to its name, providing a healing space for anyone in search of peace, connection, and equanimity.

November 4, 2023 at 12:00 amWe absolutely loved Wonderland! The place was like a dream and the classes were amazing. Every day there were so many different options for us to try out new yoga styles. And the best part is, the classes were open to all levels.
Plus, they offer a bunch of other classes that we really enjoyed, like Women’s Circle and Tibetan Singing Bowl Healing.
The vegan buffet was fantastic and it changed every day, always keeping us satisfied. And the staff were so friendly and kind.
Wonderland is truly a wonderful place! We had such a great time that we ended up staying longer than we had originally planned.

October 23, 2023 at 12:00 amIf you stay longer than a week, some workshops might start to repeat a little. It would be awesome if they made tiny changes to the schedule or added something slightly different. You can always do the things you really enjoyed again, or just relax and skip some. I originally planned to stay at Wonderland for 7 days, but ended up extending my stay by 4 more days. It’s truly a magical place where you can attend up to 6 workshops a day, enjoy the pool and sauna, and meet some incredible people. The instructors are all fantastic, and some of them are truly inspiring. I opted for a private room, which was great – they clean it every day and make sure you have enough water. The food is absolutely delicious, I even had the best falafel I’ve ever tasted! I wish I could have stayed longer, but I will definitely be coming back.

September 8, 2023 at 12:00 amThe resort got pretty full by the end of my stay. The yoga classes got so crowded that you couldn’t move without worrying about bumping into someone. We even ran out of mats and pillows a few times. It’s no wonder people keep coming back to this place – I had a great time there!
As a beginner in yoga, I never felt lost because the different teachers always offered variations of poses so everyone could participate. My week there was perfect – I learned a lot about yoga and myself.
I really enjoyed the variety of classes throughout the day – yoga, meditation, lectures, and more.
I stayed in a clean dorm that I loved, and the food was delicious. I looked forward to seeing what dinner would be each day.
There were plenty of communal areas to meet people and lots of space to relax alone if you wanted.
I also appreciated the water refill stations – no need for plastic bottles here!

August 23, 2023 at 12:00 amMeal schedules are from 9 am to 1 pm for breakfast and lunch, and dinner is from 6 to 8 pm. I would suggest extending the schedule by an hour in both cases. I would also add an extra class between 12 and 3 pm, as there used to be nothing during that time. There is a wide variety of classes, including aromatherapy, sound healing, Vipassana meditation, loving-kindness meditation, Hatha yoga, and more. The food was delicious. The decoration is lovely, and every detail is well-thought-out. The teachers are very professional, and the rooms are cleaned daily.

August 16, 2023 at 12:00 amIt’s really busy and crowded. It feels more like a resort with classes than a retreat. The atmosphere is kind of clicky and not as friendly as most retreats. You won’t get much feedback or guidance on your yoga here, but the classes are pretty enjoyable. The teachers and Western staff could be warmer and friendlier! They do have great food and plenty of classes every day, plus the whole place is just stunning.

July 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI had an issue with the general quality of yoga classes. Out of the 14 classes I took, only 3 were taught by top notch instructors. Most instructors would guide people into a pose but not explain how to do it properly. There was a lack of anatomical cues and breath work, making it difficult to stay present. I wish the instructors paid more attention to students instead of just demonstrating the poses themselves. As a certified yoga instructor, I felt the classes lacked engagement and energy. The only time I received an assist was when a teacher touched me without asking. I believe that beginner classes actually require more cues than intermediate ones to ensure proper form.
I wish Wonderland had higher standards for the quality of classes offered, with instructors like Amber or Raj teaching more frequently. Ewa’s Reiki session was definitely worth the money and the food was great. Raj’s Kundalini and Amber’s Flow classes were excellent. I enjoyed David’s Hatha stretch and Nadja’s meditation. All the specials were a must-do and I left feeling spiritually fulfilled. The staff was fantastic and the sauna was a nice touch.
Overall, I really enjoyed the retreat and would definitely go back. The meditations and specials alone were worth it. I do miss the pool though!

July 19, 2023 at 12:00 amYou couldn’t really go anywhere on foot. Of course, you could, but it would’ve been a bit of a stretch. I wish the retreat would offer a shuttle to the town and back at least once a day if people need to do some shopping or such. The massage was great, but a little pricey. I loved all the different options for yoga and meditation lessons. The food was heavenly. Thank you for the variety.

June 18, 2023 at 12:00 amOne instructor really nailed the healing class and I think she excels as a mindfulness coach more than a yoga/pilates instructor. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the lack of harmony and the way the pilates flow sequence was thrown off. We started with pilates 100s before anything else, and breath was never even mentioned.
On top of that, both I and another girl in my dorm ended up with food poisoning from dinner. It was a real downer, but it seems like only the two of us were affected. The location itself is beautiful and perfect for relaxation. Everyone was friendly and I got to meet a lot of new people.
I wanted to review three instructors, but none of them are on the list. Two of them did a great job with a well-structured class. I enjoyed the challenge in the flow, but overall, it’s more suited for yoga beginners.

June 6, 2023 at 12:00 amI observed that most of the people attending were very young, and I didn’t find it particularly friendly, which is unusual in a yoga retreat. The staff and instructors were fantastic, but I wonder how it would have been if I was an absolute beginner since most classes were at an intermediate and beyond level. If you’ve never done yoga before, this might not be the place for you. There are lots of classes and activities every day that you can choose to join or not. The facilities are really well looked after, and the setting is beautiful. There is a wide range of classes available. The room was very nice. Overall, it’s a really special place.

May 24, 2023 at 12:00 amI noticed some things missing in the dorm: each bed didn’t have a plug and reading light, and the metal bunk beds were super noisy. So, if you moved, you would risk waking up the person below you. But everything else was perfect. The classes were really good. You get a schedule with 1 morning meditation and 2 morning yoga classes. In the afternoon, there’s another meditation class and yoga class. You can choose how to plan your day. There’s always a break between 11:30 and 15:00 with no classes, so you can relax by the pool, enjoy the hammam, or go for a scooter or bike ride. Meals are served from 9-13:00 and 18:00-20:00. There’s nothing in between, but you can order a smoothie or go to a nearby restaurant. The food is vegan and delicious, the hammam is fantastic, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.

May 19, 2023 at 12:00 amIn the advanced meditation retreat, a lot of us were going without knowing how to meditate. Learning there was very difficult. We didn’t go to the 7 am meditation because it wasn’t guided and there was no music or anything. The individual rooms are very nice and big. April 13, 2023 at 12:00 amThe meditation sessions take some getting used to if you’re used to meditating for max. 25 minutes in your daily life. It’s quite a challenge not to fall asleep during the longer sessions at the retreat. Unfortunately, I was sick for the first two days, but I couldn’t have imagined a better place to heal. They took care of me and I was able to move to a private room at short notice. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten better so quickly. The food was delicious and always fresh!! The yoga classes were wonderful, I was able to really let go. Unfortunately, I could only attend 2 classes due to my illness. April 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t like that the resort isn’t by the beach and it costs about 150-200 per person to take a taxi there. (But they do offer free beach trips once a week.) That’s the only negative thing I have to say. I absolutely loved everything else about it!!
The atmosphere at the resort was healing, relaxed, and loving. It was so easy to de-stress there! Everyone, including the reception staff, restaurant workers, cleaners, masseuses, teachers, and other guests, were extremely friendly. I met so many wonderful people during my stay and have stayed in touch with them since then. I stayed in a dorm for 4 people and everyone was super respectful. November 23, 2022 at 12:00 amMost yoga classes focus mainly on pure asana or fitness, even if they’re supposed to be Level 1. I just prefer other types of yoga. Unfortunately, while I was in Wonderland, they didn’t offer Sound healing, Wim Hof, or Mantra Chanting workshops, which I would have loved to attend. Make sure to check the schedule before coming 🙂 Wonderland is a beautiful place to be! I had a great time and now feel purified, relaxed, and connected to my inner peace. I really enjoyed the daily Vipassana Meditations with Yaron in the morning – the best way to start the day. Raj’s Kundalini Hatha classes were also amazing with his deep knowledge and wisdom. And Liz’s Yin Yoga and Aromatherapy workshop was fantastic. The women’s circle led by Amor was lovely, and Stephanie’s classes were very good too. At the buffet restaurant, long tables are filled with like-minded people from all corners of the globe. Conversations flow deep and quickly, creating a strong sense of belonging. By the time I left, I had formed some amazing new connections. Now, I’m left pondering how to bring that same sense of community and connection into my daily life back at home.

September 27, 2022 at 12:00 amI spent 7 nights in the dorm room at Wonderland. It’s not the best dorm I’ve stayed in, but hey, you’re just sleeping there anyway. During the day, there are plenty of classes like different types of yoga and meditation styles, lectures, and activities like hikes to waterfalls or sunset tours. The best part is, you get to choose what you want to do. If you’re more in the mood to chill, you can hang out at the pool, use the sauna, or get a massage.
Helpful ReviewThe food is fantastic! I usually stick to vegetarian options, and they had an amazing vegan buffet. It was like heaven for me 😉 Everything was just so delicious.
I’ve heard people saying they’ll probably come back every year now. And I totally agree with them.

September 14, 2022 at 12:00 amNothing Wonderland, located in the jungle of Ko Pha Ngan, is an incredible little oasis. The staff cleans the rooms daily and provides shampoo and bath gel. The vegan buffet is fantastic with a variety of international dishes to try. Plus, the laundry service is both cheap and dependable. Throughout the day, they offer different types of meditations and yoga classes, along with talks, movies, and fire nights. You can also enjoy a sauna, cold plunge pool, swimming pool, and lounging areas. They even offer complimentary trips to hike in the jungle and go to the beach during the week. Additionally, you can experience various holistic treatment modalities and, of course, Thai Massage. If you’re looking for a truly magical experience, I highly recommend visiting this wonderland.

August 20, 2022 at 12:00 amThe evening programs at Wonderland were a mix of things, but they seemed a bit all over the place. They posted schedules that were easy to follow, but some of the subjects for the night were a bit unclear. They brought in guest instructors who might introduce themselves and share their experiences. Others were more laid-back in how they presented before they started talking. I thought about joining, but I needed more info before I walked in so I wouldn’t have to make an awkward exit or sit through something I wasn’t really into. Wonderland was a great place to hang out, relax, and meet people. Some days, they had classes that were cool, and other days, I was happy just eating, chatting, resting by the pool, getting a massage, or chilling in different spots around the resort. I even met a few people who had been back to Wonderland more than once after having a good time. I stayed at the resort for my whole trip because I was so happy with the food and the social vibe. The meals were fantastic, with lots of variety and the freshest ingredients. It was a fun experience exploring different kinds of food there, and it’s something I still do now that I’m back home.

August 10, 2022 at 12:00 amThere aren’t any “Wonderland” Groupie T-Shirts available yet. Welcome to Wonderland – where the name speaks for itself. It’s a fantastic place, not just for experienced yogis. I’ve learned so much here, as the offerings extend way beyond your typical yoga classes.

July 1, 2022 at 12:00 amI loved everything! The whole experience at Wonderland was incredible. I planned to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying for 6. The food was unbelievably good, the place had lots of chill areas, the pool was great, and the rooms and bathrooms in the dorm were really nice. I’m traveling alone and wanted to meet people, and it was so easy to chat with everyone. The staff and other guests were all really nice. The yoga and meditation teachers were fantastic, and the schedule was great. You don’t have to attend every class, and they even organize outings like hikes and sunset beach trips. The evening talks were a highlight for me. If you’re thinking about a yoga retreat, go to Wonderland! It’s amazing, and you won’t want to leave, trust me!

May 6, 2022 at 12:00 amI suggest the team provide more details about activities like hikes and the sunset tour so people know what to expect. I did both and they were awesome, but not what you might think based on the names. It’s a truly magical place. I relaxed and restored more in 4 days there than I would at a typical beach resort. The schedule is full of activities so everyone can choose what they like. There’s so much to do that even being stuck there during heavy rain didn’t feel like torture. The food is great, even for non-vegans like me. The serenity and peace are incredible!

I can only recommend the yoga lessons and the yoga teachers. The whole place is beautiful and designed with a lot of attention to detail. Both the friendly staff and the cleanliness deserve a lot of praise. And the food is amazing, even for people who don’t normally eat vegan. April 20, 2022 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, the experience was let down by the welcome. They didn’t give us any information about how things work or provide the welcome drink and yoga consultation promised during booking. A brief chat about the classes, goals, and injuries would have been a big improvement. There was also confusion about the daily smoothie listed in the booking, which we had to ask for each day.
Aly and Lauren were great instructors, offering a warm welcome and personal feedback during sessions. However, some other teachers were unfriendly and lacked enthusiasm, creating a cold atmosphere.
Classes were often overbooked, leading to overcrowding. Communication about canceled activities, like a hike due to weather, was lacking.
Despite these issues, the site itself was lovely and well-maintained, and the food was excellent.

April 8, 2022 at 12:00 amWonderland is a great place to feel safe and meet like-minded people. However, it can feel like a bubble of Westerners and I missed having Thai food options. The center is not on a cute mountain as I expected, but the grounds are flat and it’s about a 20-minute ride from the coast. It’s recommended to have a scooter to explore the area. Wonderland has a fantastic daily schedule of classes and specials that will keep you busy and offer different approaches to meditation and yoga. The yoga teachers are top-notch and the food is delicious. There are a variety of treatments available, although they can be more expensive at the center.

April 5, 2022 at 12:00 amMy only low point was getting COVID during my stay at Wonderland. My Day 1 roommate was positive but was still told to go to classes and act normal. She didn’t tell me until she checked out on Day 2. She had been coughing and had a fever the whole time. I ended up getting COVID myself 5 days later after spending all night in the dorm room with her. Wonderland thinks everyone is exposed all the time, but it was my first time getting COVID in 2 years.
I isolated myself for 5 days to protect others, which is the right thing to do in my culture. I wish I had been told about my roommate so I could have moved to a private room. If you’re afraid of getting COVID, book a private room at Wonderland.
Despite the COVID incident, my time at Wonderland was incredible. I stayed for several weeks to do yoga and meditation. I learned so much in just 3 weeks, trying new classes every day. The variety was amazing and I found new understanding through meditation sessions.
I made many new friends and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait to come back, maybe with my daughter next time. Wonderland has a great pool for kids, so I know she’ll love it too.

January 8, 2022 at 12:00 amMy boyfriend and I visited Wonderland in Koh Phangan for the first time and we can’t stop talking about our incredible experience. The yoga classes are an hour and a half long and suitable for all levels. I was amazed at how much I improved in just one week, despite practicing yoga for years. There are various yoga teachers and styles available, so if one doesn’t work for you, don’t worry – there are plenty of other options. With at least 3 yoga classes and over 3 meditation classes each day, this place went above and beyond our expectations. My boyfriend initially only accompanied me because I love yoga, but by the end of our stay, he was even doing handstands! The vegan buffet for brunch and dinner was not only delicious but also satisfying and nutritious. It was a nice change from the usual Thai food. Thanks to the dorms and communal eating areas, we made friends that we hung out with for the rest of our time in Koh Phangan. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing this place is.

August 5, 2020 at 12:00 amI think they should offer more yoga classes because some days there’s only one. The white rabbit room is too small for the number of people using it. If you don’t have a bike, it might be hard to explore the island. You’d have to be okay with staying at the retreat, which isn’t a bad thing! The cleaning staff didn’t seem very friendly and cleaning was done sporadically – there were even some ants in the rooms! But overall, the experience was great. The food was clean, healthy, and diverse. I couldn’t wait for every meal and left feeling healthier and revitalized. March 16, 2020 at 12:00 amWonderland is a very nice and relaxing place to stay for single travelers and groups. The schedule offers a variety of activities based on your interests. The quality of meditation and yoga is excellent, and the food is incredibly fresh and tasty. It’s a great option for those who prefer to do more than just lay on sunbeds all day, although that is an option at Wonderland too. The Wonderland retreat is a good choice for beginners, as it is not a holistic experience. The schedule is easy to follow with morning classes starting at 8 am, unlike some other retreats that start at 5 or 6 am. The staff is very friendly, and it’s easy to explore different parts of Koh Phangan island from Wonderland. The rooms are clean and of good quality (3-star) with air conditioning.

March 6, 2020 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, the only significant downside was the helpfulness, friendliness, and professionalism of the staff. The reception and restaurant staff seemed very unmotivated, and requests were answered with annoyance and unfriendliness. The restaurant staff even ate behind the counter during meal times, braided hair, and cleaned the kitchen with their feet on the counter. Overall, the hotel was beautiful with a great pool, large rooms with a veranda, delicious food with a wide variety of options, a wide range of classes, well-coordinated class times, and a fantastic retreat that comes highly recommended.

March 3, 2020 at 12:00 amThe 6-person dorms are okay but not luxurious. The beds wobble and squeak; there is only the main room light, so you easily bother each other; there are no closets, so clothes are always on the floor in backpacks; bed curtains would be nice for some privacy, a shelf by the bed to put things on would also be useful. All of this didn’t bother me much in the first week, because everything else was fine, but unfortunately it got very crowded in Wonderland in my second week… we squeezed over 40 people into the shala, which definitely wasn’t fun anymore. If you were late, you couldn’t participate. The relaxed and cozy atmosphere was lost during meals. Waiting in line, waiting, or even not getting any food left. Drinks were empty late at night, no towels left, etc… Very disappointing, the first week was truly magical… The peaceful jungle location, beautifully laid out, diverse weekly program> good for trying out things, friendly and casual atmosphere, very mixed crowd, the steam sauna, everything very well-maintained and clean, the buffet is really great.

February 25, 2020 at 12:00 amI thought a lot of the yoga was too basic and didn’t cater well to those at a more intermediate level. I would have liked a more physical yoga workout. January 15, 2020 at 12:00 amI wasn’t really feeling the evening dancing options, so I wasn’t interested in them. I would’ve preferred an evening Yin Yoga class or more meditation at 8pm instead of something more upbeat, but it seemed like other people were really enjoying it. I can’t say enough good things about this retreat – I was skeptical at first. I’ve been doing yoga for a couple of years, but I had never been on a retreat before. The timing and location worked out after a work trip, and I’m so glad I took a chance on this place. From the moment I arrived (they even gave me a welcome drink while I checked in), I felt at home and comfortable. Meeting people from all over the world at mealtimes was great, but I also enjoyed relaxing in a hammock with a good book or doing some journal writing by the pool between classes or activities. Not every yoga style or instructor was my favorite, but it was awesome to try new things like Aerial Yoga (my favorite) and Laughter Yoga (weird, but glad I tried it). The location was perfect – secluded but with easy access to great hiking to nearby waterfalls and stunning mountain views. The dorm rooms were cozy and the beds surprisingly soft and comfy. I highly recommend getting a Thai massage – wish I had done that every day. I loved every minute and it was so fitting that it started raining the moment I left. Getting to Koh Phangan can be a bit tricky with flights, ferries, and buses, but if I ever have the chance to go back, I definitely will. Great job, Wonderland team!

December 12, 2019 at 12:00 amThere aren’t many yoga classes at a lower level if you’re not a beginner. They should plan more activities outside the center, like hiking. The people are so friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like you’ve been friends forever, even if it’s your first time meeting them. And the food is great too!

December 10, 2019 at 12:00 amI loved the food at Wonderland so much that my standards are now too high for anything else to compare. Oh, and don’t forget your hand soap for the bathroom. I couldn’t resist the buffet and ate way too much the whole time I was there. Those pancakes still haunt my dreams. It’s a great place, with friendly staff and guests. You have a lot of freedom to do as you please – whether it’s reading a book in a hammock or mingling by the pool. If you want to meet interesting people from all over the world going through various life transitions, like quitting their jobs or starting a nomadic lifestyle, this is the place to be.

December 6, 2019 at 12:00 amIt’s a bit of a hassle going from Ko Samui airport to get to your island with the transfer and ferry, but once you’re there, the center has a fantastic atmosphere that really helps you relax.
I think they should update the list of instructors because I really enjoyed Selina’s Yin Yoga and Chakra Yoga classes. And the instructor who did Kundalini yoga on Wednesday, December 4th was great too.
All the yoga instructors are top-notch and we learned a lot from them. We always feel the benefits after each session. The only downside is that some classes can get pretty crowded.

December 3, 2019 at 12:00 amThey closed down the communal area around half past 9, so the evenings were pretty quiet. If you can’t sleep that early, there’s not much to do. I really enjoyed my stay at Wonderland. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be great. It was easy to chat with people because everyone was friendly and in the same mindset. There were lots of yoga classes and activities to choose from, and no pressure to attend everything. The food was amazing too. I’ll definitely come back.

December 2, 2019 at 12:00 amThe monsoon rain soaked my room and caused flooding, but the staff really stepped up to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Despite the bad luck, the rain didn’t put a damper on my visit to Wonderland. I definitely plan to return. The meditation classes, especially the rebirthing and sound healing, were exceptional. And the food? It was delicious every single day.

December 1, 2019 at 12:00 amI have only two constructive criticisms. 1) The yoga equipment needs to be washed and cleaned daily as they all had a bad smell. 2) The mattresses are extremely hard, making it painful to sleep on. Adding a mattress topper would be helpful. The staff was very accommodating and provided me with multiple blankets to fold up and sleep on. Despite these issues, I still love everything about this place! The food and yoga were incredibly enjoyable. The accommodations and amenities were fantastic. I highly recommend this place and would definitely return. It’s perfect for families and solo travelers alike.

November 23, 2019 at 12:00 amWonderland truly is a wonderland with something for every holiday style. If you want to relax and unwind, there are plenty of amenities to help, like a beautiful pool, sauna, massages, delicious vegan food, coconuts, tranquil surroundings, yin yoga, and meditation. I highly recommend planning to stay for at least a week to try out all the amazing experiences they offer…or you can always extend your stay;) It’s hard to leave Wonderland once you’re there.
For the more active folks, you can explore the island on bicycles (or scooters!) to visit gorgeous beaches or simply enjoy the nature by cycling around. You can also go snorkeling by KohMa. I took some Ashtanga classes outside Wonderland, but if you’re a beginner (like most people there), they have different yoga styles and great guidance every day.
If you’re looking for something more in-depth, I really enjoyed the ice bath pranayama classes where you work on breathing techniques and breath retention. But the ultimate experience for me was The Inner Walk. It opened my eyes to things I didn’t know and taught me valuable lessons about mindfulness. Wonderland gave me a proper understanding of everyday living and survival in this world. Thank you, Wonderland!

November 20, 2019 at 12:00 amBecause they contract with instructors all over the island, Wonderland occasionally has last minute schedule switches or unfortunately cancels classes or sessions. But that can happen anywhere, right?
The construction due to the rain storms was a bit disruptive, but hey, that’s life. It’s good practice to take it all in stride at a place like this retreat with great staff taking care of your every need. Wonderland allows people to come and go any day, so you can drop in for yoga, meditation, or any other session.
I had a perfect stay in a private room with one other person. Comfortable beds, bathroom, and AC made it feel like home. Every room has a hammock on the porch or balcony, and we definitely made use of ours. The rooms are clean and quiet, except for maybe on full moon nights when everyone is out celebrating a little later than usual.
Let’s talk about the food – oh my goodness, everything was delicious! I specifically looked for a place with vegan options and this exceeded all my expectations.
You get some little extras that make the experience even better, like a daily smoothie or coconut, Reiki and massage treatments, and the option to add more treatments for a reasonable fee. Need help with arranging motorbikes, taxis, or island tours? The staff has got you covered.
The facilities are all lovely. I arrived after the storms and flooding, so the pool and some bathrooms were out of commission for a few days. But they were fixed and up and running quickly.
If you’re planning a 4-day retreat, just book for 8 days. And if you’re already booking for 8 days, why not extend your stay even longer? Trust me, it’s worth it.

October 8, 2019 at 12:00 amYin and restorative yoga are fantastic here, but if you’re looking for power or vinyasa classes, this might not be the place for you. Out of the 5 days I was there, only one class was actually level 2 or challenging. Most of the classes were pretty mellow. I was hoping for more hip openers, but only two out of the 10 classes I took included them. None of the teachers did a vinyasa sequence, where you move with each breath. They were all knowledgeable, but they tended to pace the class more slowly and ramble a bit. On the bright side, the facilities, staff, food, and schedule were excellent. It’s really a treat to be on such a beautiful property. The teachers took their classes seriously and were very knowledgeable.

October 2, 2019 at 12:00 amThe staff at the hotel were not very welcoming and friendly, which is unusual for Thailand. The room facilities were very basic with no amenities available, low water pressure, and a poor kitchen. It’s a shame that such a spacious place didn’t leave a good impression. July 6, 2019 at 12:00 amNot much to complain about! There are lots of insects in this jungle. There were two huge spiders in one girl’s bathroom. The location is right in the middle of the island with no view. The common area stops playing music at 10pm, and you can’t play cards. And where are the pool toys? Some of the yoga classes move at a slow, plodding pace. The dorm lockers aren’t big enough for backpacks. But those banana pancakes are like crack – I’ll come back just for them! The dorms are modern and immaculate with two bathrooms. There are hammocks and lounge beds everywhere. The sauna and ice pool are amazing. The pool is the perfect temperature and cleaned daily. There are plug sockets near each bed. The common areas are comfy and welcoming. The staff is kind and helpful, and the instructors are super friendly. The food is amazing, fresh, and varied. The classes are solid and varied, with improv contact being hilarious. Detoxing here was eye-opening. It’s easy and cheap to rent a scooter from reception. April 29, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t find some of the evening workshops very exciting or appealing. I would’ve liked to see more variety or different types of yoga, like Iyengar.
I booked this yoga retreat to get out of my comfort zone and rediscover my love for yoga and meditation. I struggled with meditation in the past, but decided to give it another shot. I finally got the courage to book my first ever retreat, and I’m so happy I chose Wonderland Healing Centre. The value for money is amazing, with fresh vegan meals three times a day. My private room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. I even got a free massage and had plenty of classes to keep me busy throughout the day. There was also ample time for relaxation in the sun or reading a book. The restaurant area was a great place to unwind or take a quick nap.
I really connected with the yoga instructors, especially Naama in Wild Organic Yoga and Camilla in Yin Yoga. The SOMA breathing yoga workshop and Yoga Nidra classes were also highlights for me.

April 16, 2019 at 12:00 amI wish the sea was closer (it takes 15mins by cab and 150/200baht). It would be nice if there was a free shuttle to the beach on a fixed time. More diversity in meditation would be interesting as well. The daily program gets repetitive if you stay longer. But it’s not a big deal if you are not too experienced. The energy is great, and the place is wonderful in green. You can feel that the details have been thought out. I stayed in the dorm for 11 nights and it was very clean, with bed sheets and towels changing every day. The staff are sweet and helpful. The food is amazing. All of the yoga teachers were nice and it was good to experience different styles.

April 1, 2019 at 12:00 amWhen I first saw the pictures, I wasn’t impressed. But after reading nearly 200 positive reviews, I realized something amazing was going on there. So, I booked, and it turned out to be the best choice I’ve made. Wonderland is more than just a yoga place – there are meditations, lectures, workshops, dance, and so much more. And beyond the clean surroundings and great food, Wonderland has a special vibe that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. It’s everywhere there – just go check it out. I’ll definitely be going back!

March 28, 2019 at 12:00 amSome instructors were friendlier and more welcoming than others. I didn’t really like one instructor in particular. Wonderland caters to everyone, even if you just want to chill by the pool. They offered a wide range of classes, from different levels of yoga to meditation, and even special sessions. Kelly and Warren really made their classes personal and fun. And can we talk about the food? It was so fresh, had plenty of options, and was just downright tasty!

March 27, 2019 at 12:00 amI think the only thing that bothered me was the sleeping situation. In all the other hostels I stayed at in Thailand, the dorm beds had curtains for some privacy and were much more comfortable. It was ironic to focus so much on body alignment in our yoga and meditation sessions only to sleep on the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever encountered. If they updated the dorms, it would be a nearly perfect experience! Despite that, I got more out of this retreat than I expected. I met fantastic people, including the teachers and other participants, enjoyed delicious food, and practiced great yoga. The retreat was beginner-friendly but also had more advanced participants who seemed to have a great time. With a pool, steam room, and the option to attend classes or do your own thing, the energy there is incredible. I had an amazing time.

March 16, 2019 at 12:00 amWhen I got there, I had to pay the balance of my bill. What I didn’t know was that they add 4% if you pay with a card. So just keep that in mind. The Yoga classes were really crowded and the instructor talked a lot. The bathroom didn’t smell great, but I was prepared for it from reading trip advisor reviews.
I stayed in a spacious room with a nice view of the pool. There was a kettle, fridge, and free water in the room. They offer free pick up and drop off at the ferry, which is super convenient. The food was fantastic and you could help yourself to tea, coffee, and water anytime. There were also plenty of water stations around, which was nice.
I enjoyed the variety of yoga classes and meditation sessions, there was something for everyone. The meditation with Ali and Jo was amazing. The massages with “Apple” were top-notch. A taxi can be arranged for a fee if you want to go to the beach or Thong Sala. There’s also a walking meditation at Wonderland that you can join for 4 days. It’s a really special place.
I met some great people and had an awesome time, definitely recommend it. The staff works hard to keep the place clean and tidy. Thank you to Ali, Jo, Apple, and Wonderland for the wonderful experience!

February 13, 2019 at 12:00 amMaybe I would have liked a bit more in-depth approach (like a more structured approach to setting objectives, reflecting, etc.). We are mostly left to our own devices (which might be what some people want), although we can open up and discuss in certain activities. It’s a very personal approach and it varies for each individual. Also, I didn’t really enjoy Koh Pha-ngan… The food is excellent. Great atmosphere and the scenery is amazing. Good pace of activities. You meet people from all over the place. I liked the variety of yoga styles, depending on the teachers.

February 11, 2019 at 12:00 amThe communication for questions and problems was mostly done through the internet, especially when on site, a personal conversation can be much better. The receptionists were very nice but did not have decision-making authority and had to often email the operators and wait for a response, even though they were on site. I found that very strange and closed off.

February 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t personally plan the program as I was promised. The yoga was for beginners and there were a lot of different styles. Plus, I ended up with one of the “not so good” rooms and I was a bit disappointed because it didn’t have a terrace, seating area, or view like they said. The room would have been fine for a shorter stay. So, if you’re looking to advance in yoga or find a “real” yoga school, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you want a resort to eat healthy, dip your toes into spirituality, and relax, I would definitely recommend it. The food was amazing, rooms were clean, staff was mostly friendly, and the surroundings and pool area were nice. It would be a great experience for someone with little to no yoga experience. The meditation classes were good too, and some of the yoga instructors were really experienced.

February 1, 2019 at 12:00 amI found a criticism that the level of yoga offered was too intense for me. Even though I tried Level 1 yoga, I still found it hard on my body due to my own limitations. There wasn’t enough focus on alternative poses for people like me. Plus, I think some instructors should have asked if anyone in the class had any issues or were pregnant.
I also think it would be helpful to have someone explain how the retreat works when we check in. Since this was our first yoga retreat, we didn’t know what to expect. But overall, my son and I found the facilities, food, instructors, and accommodation to be top-notch. (My son was worried he wouldn’t have enough to eat!)
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and it went by too quickly. We’re already planning to come back at the end of the year. I highly recommend Wonderland Yoga Retreat to anyone looking for a complete holistic experience with yoga, philosophy, meditation, and lifestyle choices. January 28, 2019 at 12:00 amThe hot water in the bathroom wasn’t working well. I started in a dorm room but it was too much for me, so I had to move to a private room because of a few reasons. Firstly, there were too many girls in one room for such a small area. The ventilation was poor, the AC wasn’t working well, and there wasn’t enough storage space for my belongings, so I had to put my stuff on the floor. The beds were too high for the upper level guests and were noisy, so every time I needed to go to the bathroom at night, I had to wake my neighbor below.
I also didn’t like the stray dogs on the island, especially the ones that would come into the premises. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the friendliness of everyone and the family-like atmosphere. The premises were wonderful, well-designed and maintained, clean, and fresh – the owner made sure to take care of many details that concerned solo travelers.

January 26, 2019 at 12:00 amThe rooms in the dorm were super clean and spacious, with two toilets for six people. It was perfect. However, I think concrete western style houses are not the best choice for a tropical climate because they cause energy consumption to rise above acceptable levels. We had to use the air conditioning every night. Everything else was great. I was hoping for a more simple and nature-focused place, but Wonderland had a more vacation-like vibe. Regardless, it was still very good. The yoga classes were challenging but accessible even for beginners.

December 23, 2018 at 12:00 amYoga classes can get really busy and sometimes aren’t the best choice for beginners or people who aren’t as physically fit. They don’t offer modifications for injuries or those with less ability. I’ve noticed that some of the teaching seems more geared towards experienced students, which can be unsafe for beginners. On the bright side, there’s a great sense of community, the food is varied and delicious with buffet-style options, and they are good with food allergies. While the classes aren’t the best for beginners, they are varied and well-taught.

November 21, 2018 at 12:00 amI had the best food I’ve ever had in Thailand at the resort! And I’m not even vegan or vegetarian. The resort, surrounded by beautiful palm trees and nature, was super cute. The staff, who were super friendly and helpful, made every yoga and meditation lesson enjoyable. Even though I had never done yoga or meditation before, it was no problem. Staying at this retreat was the best decision I’ve made and one of the biggest highlights of my 1-month trip through Thailand. Everyone there is super open-minded and friendly, and you’ll make new friends from around the world in no time. The pool was also great for relaxing. There was absolutely nothing negative to say. I have never felt so good and fit in my own body before. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and wish I could have stayed longer. I am DEFINITELY coming back!

November 18, 2018 at 12:00 amToo many people coming and going. I would prefer to have fixed programs, like only coming on Saturdays, so that I can be with a consistent group in the retreat and grow together more. I felt the positive, loving energy of the Healing Center immediately from the first minute. I felt completely comfortable right from the start and was overjoyed. My expectations were completely exceeded. Wonderland is not just a place for doing yoga, but a place for personal growth, relaxation, and many insights to take with you and share in the western world.

November 6, 2018 at 12:00 amI had a truly special experience at Wonderland. After two months of hard work in China, I came here hoping to reset, and it turned out to be the perfect place for that. The yoga classes were perfect for me and I looked forward to each one with the variety of instructors. I learned a lot from the other activities and seminars, and I absolutely loved the Ecstatic Dance! And let’s not forget about the amazing food.
Meeting people at Wonderland was unexpected, but everyone there was so welcoming, warm, non-judgemental, and grateful to be there. I made friends from all over the world who I hope to see again. The communal dining lounge was a highlight of my stay and really helped foster those friendships.

November 5, 2018 at 12:00 amI loved everything! As a newbie to yoga and meditation, I was a bit nervous about trying it out, but as soon as I walked in, all my fears disappeared. The staff greeted me warmly and helped me feel at ease.
Switching to a vegan diet was a big change for me as a meat eater, but it has completely changed my perspective. The food here is incredible – I can’t think of a better word for it. The variety of flavors was amazing, and I especially loved Friday lunch with hummus, falafel, and couscous.
The classes were fantastic, balancing relaxation with a bit of a challenge. The atmosphere was so laid-back that if you didn’t feel like joining a class, you could just chill by the pool instead.
