YogaUnion has been offering yoga teacher training courses for over a decade. Based in Bali, they specialize in AshtangaVinyasa Flow. Their 200hr Vinyasa TTC is open to anyone who wants to become a yoga teacher or deepen their practice. The training, designed by Ourania and Spyros, will challenge and develop individuals at all levels. It focuses on building confidence, skills, and profound knowledge in Vinyasa and Ashtanga practice. It also covers topics like yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the business aspect of yoga. The training takes place in YogaUnion Shala, located in the beautiful rice fields of Ubud, Bali.
Each morning starts with an hour of pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting, followed by a Vinyasa flow class. Afternoons are dedicated to learning asanas, with a focus on alignment, adjustments, and teaching methodology. The theoretical part includes studying yoga philosophy and anatomy. Restorative styles of yoga, such as Yin, Hatha, and Nidra, are also taught. The training incorporates various practice techniques, teaching practice, and workshops on specific asanas. Throughout the training, you will receive feedback on your teaching and have the opportunity to improve and find your unique voice as a teacher. A typical daily schedule includes meditation, Vinyasa practice, learning sessions, and free time for making your own lessons.
To complete the training, you will deliver a 30-minute Vinyasa flow class to your fellow yogis and receive constructive feedback. You will also take a 3-hour written exam on asana analysis, philosophy, and anatomy. YogaUnion believes that whether you decide to teach or not after the training is of little importance. The training is a journey of self-growth and development in physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. It is a step towards self-realization and self-love.
For the online training, you can fully pace yourself and complete it from the comfort of your home, either before or after the residential training.
The luscious rice fields where the shala, accommodation, and restaurant are located offer a peaceful and natural environment for you to enjoy. You can only access the location by feet, bicycles, or motorbikes, as cars are not allowed. All the rooms are designed in authentic Balinese architecture and aesthetics, giving them a contemporary feel. During your stay, you will have access to free Wi-Fi, hot water, private toilets, cleaning service, and fresh towels.

February 16, 2024 at 12:00 amI didn’t have anything in mind, but I did think about this a lot. I would have liked the course to be longer, with more time for discussions and delving deeper into the philosophy with a group. The teacher was the best part! They had a very authentic teaching style and were very knowledgeable. They answered questions patiently and approached students in a loving and supportive way. I rarely come across teachers like this…
The Shala and the location were amazing. I was happy with the people I shared this experience with! The communication and organization were great! I would definitely recommend this and I’m looking forward to coming back for YIN YTT level 2.

January 11, 2024 at 12:00 amThe place, the classes, the teachers, everything was fantastic. I learned a lot about yoga, both in practice and theory. The teachers are there to answer all our questions and are very supportive. However, if you don’t speak any English at all, this training is not for you as you need a basic understanding. Otherwise, I highly recommend this training!!

October 14, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Seminar amazed me! It was such a unique experience that I will never forget! Meeting so many positive people in such a beautiful location, and the food was absolutely amazing! The teachers were the best! Himanshu Bahuguna is a truly amazing instructor. His passion for Yoga and teaching shines through every second of the training. It was such a gift to be able to train with him in Europe. Faye Balomenou was also incredible. She supported us throughout the training and motivated us to bring out the best in ourselves. Her knowledge in Yoga Philosophy was top-notch, and the Yoga Nidra experience in Palairos seminar with Faye was the absolute best! I 100% recommend it! Don’t hesitate to book it! I’m already eagerly looking forward to the 300h! Namaste.

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amHimanshu did an excellent job teaching Pranayama, Flow, and alignment. However, the way the Anatomy was taught in the training was quite scattered and lacked enough discussion on how it relates to different poses in yoga. It would be better if they conducted the exam right after the lecture, as it could be helpful for our training.

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amFrom day 1, Himanshu and Faye made this journey unforgettable. They helped us with both practical aspects and theory, offering extra support wherever needed.
Spryos, with his absolute passion for anatomy, made learning easy and enjoyable. And the best part? He continued to support us even after the training.
Our three teachers together created a truly wholesome training experience. They dissolved any worries about being unprepared or lacking confidence afterwards.
But it’s not just the teachers who make this experience amazing. The community we built here is incredible. We all share the same passion and support each other in our practice. By the end of the training, you’ll be thrilled to have shared this journey with such exceptional people.
Lastly, the staff here is simply incredible. They’re kind, generous, and hardworking, always ensuring our comfort during our stay.
In conclusion, if you’re interested in yoga, this is an opportunity you won’t regret.

September 11, 2023 at 12:00 amI got so much more out of this training than I expected! Our teachers, Faye, Ippoliti, and Spyros, are so passionate about what they do and they really know how to make learning about yoga straightforward, detailed, and even fun. Anytime I had a concern, question, or problem during my stay at Kosta Maria, all the teachers and hotel staff were incredibly helpful. These three weeks of training are intense, but you won’t regret choosing to do it if you want to learn more about yoga and improve your practice. You’ll learn so many new things during this time and you’ll be amazed at how far you can progress. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and take your practice to the next level together.

August 22, 2023 at 12:00 amI suggest that the groups should have different age options. Personally, I would have preferred a group with people who are 30 and above. This training introduced me to yoga in all of its beautiful ways. The location was chosen wisely, as it was a small family-owned hotel where we felt at home in every way. The food was always fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us like family, showing us love and always being helpful. When I needed groceries, a staff member named Stella even took me to a nearby market as it was a 25-minute walk.
The training itself was intense both physically and spiritually, and there were times when we all broke down emotionally. Thankfully, our amazing instructors were there to support us and help us grow each day. Faye and Ippo, our instructors, were perfect in their own Yin & yang ways. Faye’s alignment classes and Ippo’s pranayama classes were truly one of a kind. Even though we didn’t have as much time together, our anatomy instructor, Sypros, was also special and passionate about his subject. He motivated us in many ways.
Overall, this experience was amazing for me personally. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves yoga and has the dedication and time for it. ???

July 7, 2023 at 12:00 amI had the most life-changing experience in June 2023 when I completed my 200h vinyasa teacher training with YogaUnion in Ubud, Bali. The whole experience was beyond incredible. I learned everything I had ever wanted to know about yoga and had the privilege of being taught by an amazing group of teachers.
Not only did I immerse myself in the practice of yoga, but I also formed incredible connections with people from all over the world. And let me tell you, it was a journey of self-discovery like I had never imagined before.
I have to give a special shout out to my lead teacher, Himanshu. He is hands down the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. His knowledge about everything in yoga, from asanas to pranayama and philosophy, is mind-blowing. He has tons of experience working with students of different levels and backgrounds. But what sets him apart is his undying passion for what he does and his constant willingness to help his students in any way possible.
I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. Many of my classmates share the same love and admiration for Himanshu. He truly is the heart and soul of this training program. We need more teachers like him in the world!

July 3, 2023 at 12:00 amI was completely blown away by the 200 hour Vinyasa YTT in Paleros! It surpassed all my expectations of what a 200 hour YTT could offer. Faye Balomenou, our incredible teacher, brings such enthusiasm for yoga and is more than happy to share her vast knowledge with all of us. Her alignment classes were so thorough and precise, clearly showing her experience and confidence in teaching and adjusting. The intensity and motivating energy of the practices were exactly what I needed.
Eleni Chantzara, Faye’s partner, complements her perfectly. Her teachings in Pranayama and various workshops were so thoughtful and valuable. I loved how she incorporated beautiful flows and had such a gentle energy.
Spyros Kapitsinos, who led the anatomy classes, was simply outstanding. His unique and captivating approach kept me engaged, even after long and exhausting practices. He has a wealth of knowledge and empowers his students to understand their own anatomy and enhance their yoga practice and teaching.
The hotel itself is situated in a stunning location, just a short half-hour walk outside of Paleros town. It has its very own private beach, a few staircases away. And if you’re not up for the walk, there’s also a pool! Everywhere you look, you’re greeted with breathtaking views of the sea and beautiful mountains. The upper and lower Shala’s, combined with the picturesque scenery, create the perfect atmosphere for yoga practice.
The hotel staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the food is fresh, varied, and absolutely delicious. Most of the dishes have a healthy/vegetarian twist on traditional Greek cuisine, although some might find it a little heavy. Overall, I highly recommend this amazing experience!

June 28, 2023 at 12:00 amThe food was delicious and I have a few recommendations for improvement. It would be nice to have more variety in the choice of cereal and fruit in the morning. Personally, I prefer the porridge to be a little thicker, rather than like soup. Also, instead of having stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes for the third time, it would be great to try a different dish.
Helpful ReviewThis yoga teacher training exceeded my expectations. The teachers were amazing and really showered us with their knowledge, dedication, and passion for yoga. It felt like yoga had become a part of my body, mind, and soul, which was an incredible feeling. I even came home feeling inspired to continue my own practice and teach others, which I didn’t expect after just three weeks. Of course, there were some challenging moments both physically and mentally, but these experiences pushed us to our limits and allowed us to realize our true capabilities. Each woman blossomed in the end.
Fay is like a diamond with many different qualities in her personality and teaching style. She was essential in making sure we fully understood what we were doing, while also making us laugh. Eleni is a precious soul who made breathing and meditation so desirable and easy to understand. Her flows were challenging, but in a good way. Spyros made anatomy class interesting and logical, with plenty of humor. Surprisingly, I was able to easily remember the important topics for the exam.
The KostaMaria Family and staff were wonderful. The food was delicious and the rooms were impeccably clean. Plus, you only have to walk 106 steps to reach crystal clear water with a stunning view. You have to experience it!

June 27, 2023 at 12:00 amI recommend taking your own yoga mat or a travel version to put over the existing yoga mats. The training I went through took place in the Earth shala of YogaUnion in the rice fields of Ubud. My accommodation was conveniently located right next to the shala, just 2 meters away. While there wasn’t a pool at the location, we were allowed to use the pools at other places where some of the other participants stayed.
The restaurant where we had all our meals was just a short 3-minute walk away. The area surrounding the training center had some great spas and cafes, offering something new and different every day. While not every meal may have suited everyone’s taste, the buffet always had something delicious to offer.
My main teacher, Gourav, has extensive knowledge about yoga, pranayama, and the alignment of asanas. He will prepare you exceptionally well for becoming a yoga teacher. I also want to mention Menik, our amazing anatomy teacher, who could answer every single one of our questions and expertly linked the anatomy information with yoga poses.
Our philosophy teacher, Laila, has a unique and soothing energy, and her voice is incredibly calming. She also offers a 50-hour yin yoga teacher training.
During the training, we had a mix of different yoga classes such as yin, restorative, acro, ashtanga, nidra, but our main focus was on vinyasa. The classes were generally at an intermediate level, but you will learn and grow stronger each day.
In our group, we had 19 wonderful participants who made the training enjoyable and created a truly special experience. I highly recommend it!

April 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI loved everything, except for the occasional overcrowding and constant food shortages at the restaurant. But overall, it was a good experience, especially because of how well everyone took care of us.
Himanshu is truly amazing with his knowledge. Despite having a group of 30 people to manage, he was able to give individual attention and teach each one of us.
Laila is such a loving and motivated person. She motivated me and filled my soul with love.
Fabien was always there during the training, constantly helping me improve. I’m grateful that he was there with me. Sometimes, he would give me a look and say, “You can do it, Sherin.” Those words meant a lot to me.

March 7, 2023 at 12:00 amGustis Garden was a disappointment. The rooms were filled with mold and my clothes and shoes got ruined. I definitely overpaid for the accommodation. Luckily, I brought my own yoga mat because the ones provided were dirty and stained. They smelled awful too!
The Wi-Fi at Gustis Garden was unbelievably weak and slow. It was frustrating to try and get anything done online.
However, despite the disappointing accommodations, the training itself was excellent and unforgettable. I found a second family during my time here. Himanshu Bahuguna, my mentor and trainer, was amazing. Thanks to him, I am now a certified yoga teacher. The knowledge I gained from Himanshu will stay with me throughout my entire yoga teacher journey.

February 20, 2023 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, I had some uncomfortable experiences with the location. The place didn’t match what I had seen in the videos and photos on the site for the past 5 years (rice fields).
I had assumed it was a new venue, but it wasn’t made clear to us that this was just another venue used when the first one is fully booked. It would be great if in the future they could inform guests that there are actually 3 venues and allow for a choice of specific ones, like the rice fields instead of the down rabbit hole.
I also had a privacy issue with the neighbor, but thankfully Ourania (the owner of Yoga Union) was very thoughtful and ensured that this kind of inconvenience wouldn’t happen again in the future.
Aside from that, the place is nice. The bedrooms are new and the staff are very friendly. The instructors are definitely worth mentioning. They all have a high level of knowledge and a positive attitude. They always asked if we had any questions and made sure we had all the information we needed.
I also want to thank Marina and Anna Viktoria for their amazing classes. They taught with kindness, love, and enthusiasm. They’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
A big thank you also to Gourav and Laila who are incredible and very skilled teachers. And of course, Menik, my amazing anatomy teacher who made us fall in love with fascia and tendons, haha.

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amPeople with different levels of yoga experience may not benefit the most from training if instructors are forced to slow down their teaching. This issue can also arise in other yoga teacher training programs. Personally, I find sessions like Kriya & Cacao ceremony to be irrelevant. I prefer attending yoga workshops that directly impact my practice and teaching. It’s important to have instructors who are knowledgeable and patient. The accommodations provided are excellent, and the staff members are incredibly sweet. The meals provided are also of great quality. The yoga workshops offered are top-notch. Additionally, the location is conveniently close to Ubud center. The shala where the training takes place is intimate, clean, and well maintained.

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Teacher Training exceeded my expectations, and I have to admit, as someone fairly new to Yoga, the tight and packed schedule could be quite challenging at times. However, it was amazing to see how I gradually grew in my yoga practice and on a personal level as well.
Yoga is more than just physical exercise. During our Philosophy classes, I started implementing the Yogic lifestyle into my daily life off the mat too.
The accommodation in the rice fields was absolutely wonderful and clean, just a few minutes away from the shala (students are spread all over guest houses in the rice fields). The food provided at the restaurant was incredibly delicious.

September 3, 2022 at 12:00 amIn conversational tone:
It just didn’t meet my expectations. They promised us a different yoga teacher, including Himansu, but we didn’t get it. I even signed up to learn other styles of yoga like Tantra, Yin, and pregnancy yoga, but besides a one-off class, we didn’t really get educated on these styles enough to teach them in our own practice. The course focused on asanas and the mind, but it was lacking soul and leadership skills. Plus, we had a challenging group that was very opinionated and sometimes rude. They would fall asleep in class, lie down during meditation, and be constantly on their phones. And unfortunately, there wasn’t a real leader to control their behavior.
Overall, the course was okay, but it felt more like a trial run for a 300-hour course. I would have been satisfied if they had been upfront about that and if the price was lower. The accommodation and food were fine, as were the individual teachers.

I also didn’t like that they advertised a 30-person instructorship and then had two groups of 30 people at the same time. It was overwhelming and I think smaller groups create a different atmosphere. I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore another country and the incredible beaches. August 5, 2022 at 12:00 amI really enjoyed the course and my time there, but there are a few small things I’d like to critique:
– Getting away from the hotel was sometimes difficult, but that’s mainly because of the infrastructure in Palairos.
– The food was good and they were accommodating with lactose-free/vegan diets. However, the labeling and selection were occasionally strange, so they could do with some improvement and more variety.
– I wish we had more opportunities to practice our own sequences, but I understand there wasn’t much time for it due to the amount we needed to learn in a short time.
– I would have preferred the course to be a couple of days longer so that the teachers could spend less time on exams and more time with each of our personal flows. But I realize that may not be possible in real life, considering other 200-hour courses are even shorter!
– Sometimes the planning wasn’t great and we didn’t always receive information or got it late. Despite that, everything worked out in the end.
– Thank you for a wonderful experience! Embarking on this yoga journey made me very happy. The course was intense as I expected, and I learned a lot. I particularly loved the kind staff at Kosta Maria. The location was beautiful!
Before the course, I had a lot of expectations, and I’m pleased to say they were all fulfilled:
– I was hoping for physically tough training, and it definitely delivered!
– My goal was to learn a holistic view of yoga, and I appreciated the varied perspectives offered.
– I expected it to be intense and focused, and it was mentally challenging. However, I’m still glad I chose this over a year-long 200-hour course.
– I didn’t want it to be overly spiritual, and they struck a nice balance by introducing us to spiritual concepts without pressuring us to participate in things like chanting.
– Lastly, I wanted to understand myself better, and I truly do now.
I am so grateful for all the knowledge I gained during this course.

August 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThe chefs made the food with love but it just didn’t meet the standard. They didn’t offer any fresh juices, there was hardly any fresh fruit, and the meals in general weren’t great. The menu had too much processed soy, not enough variety of vegetables, and it wasn’t very balanced. Adding a bit of creativity to the menu could have made all the difference.
But let me tell you, the instructors were absolutely amazing. And the location couldn’t be better.

July 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI didn’t like Gourrav. He tried his best, but his communication skills were seriously lacking. I don’t know if he just couldn’t express himself well or if his thoughts got lost in translation. His vocabulary in the Pranayam and vinyassa classes was so repetitive that it drove me crazy. And when he graded our final exams instead of Himanshu, many of us were disappointed because his feedback was totally off and didn’t reflect what actually happened in class. He’s just not on the same level as the other instructors at Yoga Union!
As for the workshops on children’s yoga and prenatal yoga, they weren’t very helpful. Itta, the teacher, is a great person but not a good instructor. She had no structure in her classes and it felt like she was just making things up as she went. I would have preferred to learn more about yogic philosophy or have an ayurvedic clinician come in to talk about the doshas or yogic diet.
But overall, I’m grateful for this experience! The teachers were passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging. I learned a lot about yogic philosophy, history, and anatomy, as well as alignment and teaching structure. The shala was beautiful and I actually liked the large class size. It was nice to have two classes happening at the same time and to eat meals together with new people. The Fire shala was definitely more stunning than the Earth shala, so I recommend requesting to be in the Fire group. And everyone at Yoga Union, from the housekeepers to the cooks, was so kind and thoughtful. The rice fields were a gorgeous setting for practice. And the food… oh, the food! I’ll miss it so much. They had such a great variety of Indonesian and global dishes that made this vegan very happy.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amSometimes, we had organizational hiccups. Our communication regarding transport or scheduling could get a bit disorganized or delayed. We mainly relied on word-of-mouth for sharing information within the group, using only WhatsApp for communication. So if you didn’t use WhatsApp, you might miss out on important information.
Interestingly, some people were not informed that they would be living off-campus when they booked. Personally, if I had known that I would be living off-campus, I wouldn’t have chosen to take the course.
In my opinion, there were times when we should have paid more attention to the physical conditions of the students. Not everyone was ready for all the yoga poses we attempted, resulting in some minor injuries.
Throughout my stay, there were around 40 students split into two groups. My group had 21 students. However, I was informed that in some months, the groups could be as big as 35 students. The group size was manageable, but it definitely shouldn’t have been any larger.
Speaking for myself, I would have loved a more extensive education in anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology, and especially philosophy. It’s important to note that this course only offered an introduction to these topics. Each group had different experiences due to the personal style and teaching methods of the instructors. Overall, I believe there should be better alignment between the teachers.
With all that being said, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely do it again! The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, including anatomy, philosophy, alignment, and actually practicing yoga. I appreciated the holistic approach. However, the combination of theory and practice could be tiring at times, as most of the theoretical lessons were conducted with everyone sitting on the floor. Nevertheless, it was the perfect approach to explore and delve deeper into the concepts.
The quality of the teachers was great and everyone appreciated them. However, it was unpredictable who would be teaching during the month you were there since the teachers were not known in advance.
I must also mention the amazing staff at Kosta Maria. They were incredibly kind and accommodating, always ready to help and share a laugh. You made the experience truly special! I absolutely loved the food, the regular meal times, and the high standards that were maintained. The cleanliness was impeccable, and my room had the most breathtaking view of the ocean.
Lastly, I was blown away by the other students. They were caring, kind, and always friendly. It was such a pleasure to be around this community, and I could always count on their help whenever needed.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amThe food could have had more variety, and after a while, it felt like we were having the same 5 or 6 recipes over and over again. Plus, the food was often too salty or too sweet for my taste. But not everyone felt the same way ? It’s just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. Before I booked the training, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from former students, and I was a bit skeptical. It sounded too good to be true. But this training completely changed my life. I wasn’t completely sure I wanted to be a yoga teacher before, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else. Yoga makes me the happiest and most connected to my true self than anything else.
We were so lucky to have such a close-knit group of students, filled with beautiful and kind people. From day one, everyone genuinely cared about each other. We spent these three weeks in a loving and supportive environment, where we all felt safe to fully dedicate ourselves to our practice. I made lifelong friends, and I feel incredibly fortunate!
And let me tell you about the teachers (Rachel and Ippoliti aka Ippo or Ippopo or Chop Chop), they exceeded all expectations. I will remember their teachings and their personalities for the rest of my life, without a doubt. They didn’t just teach us what we needed to know for the exam, they also shared their experiences as yogis and human beings, and they inspired me in so many ways.
Before the training, I had only been introduced to asana and pranayama. But learning about philosophy, anatomy, and alignment helped me deepen my practice in ways I never imagined. It’s like I have a whole ocean of yoga knowledge in front of me, and I know that a lifetime won’t be enough to learn even half of it.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Kostas and his family, who made this training even more special! Lots of love!

July 26, 2022 at 12:00 amIt had nothing to do with the training or the teachers, but rather the people who signed up for the training in my group. A lot of them were very judgmental, typical close-minded Westeners who only saw yoga as a workout and neglected the spiritual aspect. They weren’t open-minded or accepting, and there was a lot of small groups and gossip going on. I wish we had accepted everyone and had a big group where everyone was treated equally. I really didn’t enjoy this, but I was able to blend it out. Maybe it’s also because I felt there were too many people in the Fire group. I wish we had known beforehand that there would be 30+ people in one group. Also, it was mostly the same dominant people who kept asking questions during lessons, making it harder for the quieter people to get the same benefit from the lessons. So it really depends on your personality – extroverted people may thrive more in this type of environment. I didn’t like the food either, as the vegan option often left me very hungry. There wasn’t enough protein available, and some meals didn’t have any protein at all. However, the teachers and the training itself were amazing. We only learned how to plan 30-minute lessons, but we will be able to use this knowledge to create one-hour lessons, though it’s something we have to do on our own time.

June 28, 2022 at 12:00 amMe and six other students didn’t stay at the actual accommodation, but at a different place nearby. It was a 5-minute car ride or a 20-minute walk. I didn’t mind staying there, but the problem was that our daily rides to the actual accommodation were often late, so we ended up having to walk and being late for class sometimes.
They advertised it as Vinyasa/Ashtanga training, but in my opinion, it was mostly just Vinyasa training. They did cover almost all styles of yoga, like Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Overall, my experience at YogaUnion was really good. The teachers, Ippoliti, Rachel, and Eleni, were all really knowledgeable and friendly. The classes were educational, and the teachers were always available to answer any questions we had. The staff at the accommodation were also really nice and caring. The food they served was always delicious! When I wasn’t feeling well, they took care of me, adjusted the food for my needs, and checked on me every day to see if I was okay.

June 4, 2022 at 12:00 amI’m so grateful that I chose this YTT! It was the perfect training for me, and I still can’t believe it actually happened.
What I loved most about the experience was the location. The shala was nestled in the most beautiful ricefields, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. And even though it felt isolated, it was still conveniently close to Ubud city center, which was great for exploring and finding delicious food and shopping.
The teachers really made this training special. Fay, Himanshu, and Spyros were all incredible. They pushed us physically during the vinyasa practice, which helped us grow and improve. Plus, their sense of humor made the whole experience enjoyable and made it easier to remember important information. It was intense over the three weeks, but I had so much fun!

February 25, 2022 at 12:00 amIf you decide to come during the winter, just remember that Greece gets cold too. So don’t forget to pack some extra layers and warm clothes. Now, let me tell you about my incredible experience during my teacher training in Palairos.
I absolutely loved Faye, our yoga teacher. She’s a total powerhouse and she knows her stuff. Her teaching style is straightforward and easy to follow. She’s super clear about what she’s teaching and truly believes in it. Plus, she gives great feedback and pushes everyone to be their best selves.
Laila, on the other hand, is such a gentle soul. She has amazing knowledge about breath work, meditation, yin, and nidra yoga. But what’s really impressive is how she breaks down those difficult arm balancing poses. She’s really talented at explaining things in a way that’s easy to understand.
The two of them together, Faye and Laila, create the perfect yin/yang harmony. They complement each other perfectly and make the training even more special. And let’s not forget about Jonas, our anatomy teacher. I absolutely loved his classes! He has a unique talent for breaking down complex subjects into bite-sized pieces. If you’re lucky enough to have him for anatomy, get ready for a treat. And be prepared for his dry sense of humor, it’s pretty funny.
I can’t thank these three enough for the unforgettable and knowledge-filled teacher training. I learned so much and I’m forever grateful. Moving on to the place we stayed, Palairos is just stunning. The “foodpath” where we stayed is only a 5-minute walk from the beach and surrounded by mountains. It’s an authentic Greek place and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
But the best part was the food! It was so diverse, always prepared with fresh ingredients, and tasted amazing every time. Adonis and Elli, the ones who prepared the food, put so much love into it. They were always there to help and took care of everything for us. Thank you both for opening your house and making it feel like a home.
I highly recommend coming to Palairos for your teacher training. It’s an incredible experience that you won’t regret.

February 8, 2022 at 12:00 amMaybe it would have been a bit too cozy in the Indoor Shala with more than 13 people, but besides that, I have no complaints. Everything was perfectly planned and everyone gave their best. I really want to thank YogaUnion for creating this amazing course! The experience was flawless. We had so many people taking care of us, ensuring that we had the best time possible. Faye and Leila were incredible teachers who challenged us and were always there to help whenever we needed assistance with Asanas or theories. Jonas’ Anatomy classes were also fantastic! The atmosphere was incredibly friendly, and the food was always fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. The Hostel itself was beautiful and just a short 5-minute walk away from the stunning sea. July 13, 2021 at 12:00 amI finally paid for a double room, but I ended up in a triple room. However, the overall experience was great in the end. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, there were no props provided for Yin Yoga alignments. It’s a pity that there could have been better communication about this so that students could bring their own props. Nonetheless, my experience at YogaUnion was awesome.
The teachers and instructors were incredibly professional and offered outstanding quality. They took the time to share their knowledge and experience with humility, responsibility, and precision. However, what stood out the most was their beautiful humanity and happiness that embraced both the students and the place.
The food at YogaUnion was amazing. It consisted of balanced meals with fresh ingredients and delicious fruits, catering to vegetarians and vegans. They also provided students with excellent materials to aid in understanding the classes.
Overall, this experience will definitely help you become an excellent certified Yoga teacher. Thank you to everyone at YogaUnion for an amazing experience. I will surely be back! Your energy and professionalism are top-notch!

September 22, 2020 at 12:00 amThe accommodation in Greece didn’t meet our expectations in terms of comfort. We had numerous centipedes and other insects in our room every day because the door didn’t shut properly, leaving a small gap at the bottom. Additionally, there was no washing machine or closet available for us. We were also disappointed that they didn’t clean the rubbish bin in our bathroom daily as promised; it only happened once a week. Ironically, they asked us to throw our used toilet paper in that bin. Furthermore, the food they cooked was very similar every day and sometimes there wasn’t enough for all of us.

March 6, 2020 at 12:00 amI really wanted to give a 100% good review, but our philosophy instructor lacked confidence in the material she was teaching. She only spent 2-3 days on the important stuff and then completely abandoned it. Instead, she made us do exercises where we wandered around smelling flowers and touching rocks. She discouraged questions, couldn’t stick to the subject, and let some people dominate the conversation. It was so frustrating because we were supposed to pass an exam on specific information. I personally asked her to focus on the exam material, but she told me it couldn’t be covered in just eight days, and defensively asked me how I expected her to do it. I didn’t think that was an appropriate attitude for an instructor. When the exam came, none of us felt truly prepared, so many of us had to cram philosophy.
It would have been great if we received the training manual in pdf format beforehand, so we could study in advance. Reading the recommended books helped, but I think they should have been mandatory, so we all came to training mentally prepared. The retreat in Bali was a mix of work and fun, so having more time to prepare in advance would have made it easier to just enjoy. The alignment classes were amazing. I feel privileged to have learned alignment from Himanshu. He is a dedicated, dynamic, and skilled instructor. He has vast knowledge and a true passion for teaching yoga. Himanshu taught us all the major alignments of yoga positions and provided practical knowledge on using yoga. He personally pushed me to new limits and wasn’t afraid to expect the best from the entire class. Throughout the 23-day course, my strength, stamina, and flexibility improved dramatically. I was able to do new poses I had never tried before. We started teaching right away, which helped me feel fully prepared for my final demonstration. Himanshu guided us through everything slowly and methodically. He also excelled in teaching us more subtle aspects like breathwork. By the end of the course, I was able to go deeper into meditation and pranayama. He truly equipped me to be a better yoga practitioner.

The programs were intense but also relaxing because we stayed in a 5-star hotel in Ubud. All the teachers were passionate and genuine. They shared all their energy and knowledge with us, and we are grateful for it. It’s so much more valuable than the price. Don’t hesitate, just go for it and become part of the family!

March 3, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food wasn’t the best, but it still tasted good. If you want to go online, get a simcard because the Wifi was really slow. I learned a lot about postures, body and mind, motivation to push myself, Himanshu’s mindset and passion, and enjoyed the mix of workshops and the friendly people. I’m definitely doing the 300-hour course in the future.

March 2, 2020 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved the whole experience again. The rice fields took my breath away. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, making us feel open, vulnerable, free, and receptive. The kitchen staff worked tirelessly to make sure we had everything we needed, even when some of us fell ill – they brought us rice right to where we were staying. The classes were fantastic. Celine is a warrior goddess with amazing flows that leave you feeling empowered and strong. The location in the rice fields was stunning and allowed us to be truly present in the moment. I already want to go back even though I just got home! I would go over and over again. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this incredible experience.

February 7, 2020 at 12:00 amAfter a while, I noticed the food was always the same. But hey, coming up with three different meals for three weeks straight isn’t easy. This YTT200 course completely exceeded my expectations.
The instructors really stand out. They’re fun, genuine, hardworking, and always there to help you out. You’ll never have a dull moment. The schedule is tough, but the instructors will leave you wanting more, pushing you to achieve more. They’ll have you feeling like you’re on top of the world (no drugs needed, haha).
I learned so much during this training. It was an unforgettable experience. I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of this group. Thank you, YogaUnion! ♡

February 6, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food was spoiled (fifteen people got sick).
Helpful ReviewIn the last week, students give classes for evaluations, but we decided to pay extra to have qualified yoga instructors and really learn.
To get corrected, you need to call the teachers, they don’t come on their own.
The business side is really obvious, they clearly told me that if I didn’t pay by the afternoon, I would have to leave right away!
Make sure to understand English perfectly even though the website says it’s accessible to everyone!
The graduation ceremony is very simple. Such a beautiful and enriching adventure.
Amazing setting.
Intense training.
Great people.
Learning so much about yoga and yourself.
Passionate and qualified teachers.
Free shuttle to town.

February 6, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food at the Mansion during the training was disappointing for me as a long-time vegan. There were very limited options for protein and complex carbohydrates, which was tough since we were studying and doing strenuous yoga. The lack of variety after three weeks made everything feel repetitive. YogaUnion worked with the Mansion Hotel to address these issues, so hopefully future trainings will have better food options.
I absolutely loved the 200 YTT with YogaUnion! The teachers were passionate and knowledgeable, and I felt confident in my yoga education. Nikol, our main teacher, is a shining example of hard work and determination. Her energy was infectious whether she was teaching asana alignment or leading a vinyasa flow. She truly has a gift and we all learned so much from her.

February 5, 2020 at 12:00 amAfter the third week, the food got a bit repetitive but still tasty.
Helpful ReviewDuring classes, the teachers should ask anyone from the retreat to show the “example” no matter the level of the student, instead of always picking the most flexible/stronger yogi. It would allow everyone to see how the teacher corrects or leads the student into the asana, as we are more likely to teach to beginner/intermediate students than to someone who already knows how to do everything. Especially since yoga isn’t about comparison. I also know that some yogis were a bit disappointed or discouraged to always see the same advanced student showing the asana.
I just hope it won’t be the case in future retreats, but I still really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. 🙂 The location is wonderful in the middle of the rice fields! The shala and restaurant were incredible, the breakfast was the best meal with so many fruits, muesli, homemade coconut yogurt, and sometimes pancakes and French toasts. Everyone was really nice, and I had an incredible time there. Such a life-changing experience!! Plus, it was cheaper than with other organizations, even though it was really incredible!

The place in the rice fields is fantastic. The restaurant too. Thank you.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amI’m not picky about food, but it was really awful, with the same dishes regularly. The food is vegetarian but not healthy. I strongly advise against signing up for this training if you don’t speak English well. There is a lot of theory and philosophy that is important to understand for the rest of the training. Personally, I don’t speak English well and I don’t understand very well either. I tried the experience but it was very difficult because I had to do double work (translate my textbooks into French). The yoga classes were great with an extraordinary and professional teacher. I loved practicing with all the teachers who are all very humble. It was a unique experience with beautiful encounters.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amI recommend arriving two days early to get over jet lag and adjust to the weather. That way, you can make the most of your time here. Also, try to stay at least a week after the course ends so you can explore the island/Gili/Nusa Penida. The course is intense, and you’ll get two Sundays off that you’ll want to relax and not overload with activities!
The teachers were amazing in teaching asana, anatomy, and philosophy. I learned so much and felt the passion and care from Aaka (philosophy) and Spyros (anatomy). The daily asana and vinyasa classes were top-notch (thanks Nikol and Himanshu)!
The accommodation at mansion resort was like a dream honeymoon spot! I splurged on a double room and it was totally worth it. The staff were so friendly, rooms were cleaned daily, and there were great spots to work and study. The Shalas where we practiced yoga and took classes were absolutely stunning!
Just a heads up, you won’t be staying in town, but there’s a free shuttle a few times a day or you can take a taxi for £8. You can also rent a scooter nearby.
The food was good, especially for a vegetarian like me. My only suggestion would be to have a coffee supply in the afternoon, but the cafe does have iced coffee for £3.50.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amI wish we had more moments of silence during the training so we could focus on our inner yogic journey. The training seemed a bit superficial, like just passing on information. I suggest having a few silent days (maybe even in the beginning!) or every morning until after breakfast. This would give us time to meditate, practice pranayama, and really connect with our asana practice.
Our teacher Himanshu did a great job of making classes enjoyable while pushing us to do our best. He shared his wisdom with us in a way that allowed us to take what resonated with us. The other teachers were also amazing, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from them.

January 17, 2020 at 12:00 amThank you Yoga Union for the best experience. I couldn’t believe it when I read the reviews beforehand, but it was all true – I learned and progressed so much in such a short time. Spyros, Ourania, Himanshu, Celine, and Sirios were so dedicated and full of energy throughout the three weeks. They answered all of our endless questions and pushed us to step outside our comfort zone. Every time we thought we had given our all, they wouldn’t let us give up. Thanks Himanshu! Being immersed in such an intense program for 3 weeks has definitely changed my perspective and given me a more holistic view of yoga. The teachers’ energy was truly inspirational and gave me the confidence that I can achieve anything if I put my mind to it.

January 14, 2020 at 12:00 amI really wish we had started with an introduction for all participants at the beginning, like little games or something to hear everyone’s name at least once!
In anatomy, they taught us that strength can be built quickly, but tendons and ligaments need more time to catch up. I wish the teachers had slowed down at times or reminded us to listen to our bodies. Instead, it felt like we were being pushed to show the best version of every pose, or even go further. While pushing ourselves isn’t necessarily bad, it’s not realistic in a 3-week intense training. It seemed like over half of the class ended up with at least one injury. That didn’t feel healthy to me, and I wished for more adaptations on some days.
I was expecting more information and adjustments for Yoga beginners, especially since the Yoga Teacher Training is advertised for both beginners and advanced students.
With the philosophy class, I would have preferred to start with basic information instead of diving straight into deep discussions about topics I wasn’t very familiar with. It was even harder for non-native English speakers to follow along. I don’t feel like I have a good understanding of yoga philosophy now, which may be due to the unstructured way we were guided through the topics.
On the positive side, I loved the atmosphere created by the teachers, trainees, and Karmayogis. The schedule, food (although more fruit variety would be nice), location (beautiful hotel away from busy Ubud but still well-connected), structure of the training (bottom-up approach), alignment teachings, early teaching opportunities, international participants, special events like the cacao ceremony, silent walk, and 108 sun salutations, as well as the dedication and passion of every teacher.

January 11, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food lacked variety and flavor, but they did try to improve it towards the end and there was a noticeable difference in the last week. Knowledgeable teachers create an immersive and accessible environment that encourages personal growth and a deeper understanding of the yogic way of life.
The schedule is tough and intense, but it’s not a relaxing retreat. Instead, it’s an intensive learning program designed to prepare experienced practitioners to guide yogis through flows and a more mindful practice in the future.

January 10, 2020 at 12:00 amIt’s great to remind all students about proper mat arrangement because the entrance of the shala can get crowded. I absolutely love Nikol’s fast-paced Vinyasa classes – they really get me sweating!
I love how The Mansion has the shala and bedrooms all in one place, so there’s no need to stress about commuting.
The training really expanded my understanding of asanas and human anatomy, subjects I was curious about but didn’t know much about.
During the training, we focused a lot on teaching and practicing the traditional Sun Salutations, which happen to be my favorite part.

January 10, 2020 at 12:00 amI didn’t love the philosophy classes because we didn’t have much time for critical discussion of many yoga concepts. However, I did appreciate the teachers making an effort to go over main terms and concepts with us for exams. I still believe future yoga teachers should go beyond just knowing about concepts like chakra, doshas, and gunas and be able to critically evaluate existing yoga philosophy. Unfortunately, this kind of discussion was lacking in the philosophy classes, or it didn’t feel safe to bring up these issues.
The food didn’t excite me after two weeks, but these were just minor issues compared to all the other amazing things that exceeded my expectations. This experience was truly wonderful and unique. It’s hard to leave after spending three weeks in this incredible retreat. Spyros and Ourania have created a loving, caring, and nurturing environment for yogis and future teachers. They are truly inspiring. Himanshu’s passion for yoga and his teaching style during our morning asana practices helped me push my limits and get stronger each week. I learned so much from all of them. Each teacher brings their own personality to the Shala. Staying in the rice field felt like being on another planet. I enjoyed every minute there. December 17, 2019 at 12:00 amFood becomes repetitive. Accommodations vary, with some staying in a mansion resort and others in the rice fields. There is a wide range of accommodations available. I wish they had been more clear about the spirituality and ‘self development’ they talk about. However, it was definitely a life-changing experience. So, I will say… these small complaints don’t compare to how amazing it was.
One thing to note is that it’s usually a big group of about 30 people. We became like a family. But if you prefer smaller, more intimate groups, this retreat may not be for you! I personally thrive in smaller groups and wish there were fewer people for more one-on-one time. However, the retreat is amazing and many people seek it out for good reason! You won’t regret it. I was situated in the rice fields and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful setting to do my yoga teacher training. The training was physically intense but very rewarding. It’s hard work, so be prepared for that. The teachers, for the most part, are fantastic and highly educated. They truly want you to become the best yoga teacher you can be. Overall, the food was pretty good. It did get repetitive towards the end, but that’s expected. The women who prepared the meals were lovely. I absolutely loved this experience and wouldn’t change a thing!

October 30, 2019 at 12:00 amI read every review saying the food is repetitive and standard. Honestly, you don’t need a lot of variety when your body is under daily physical stress. It was just what my body needed after two hours of vinyasa every day. I’m so glad I picked this course. I looked at thousands in different countries, and this one surpassed my expectations. It was tough. They suggest reading a few books before you arrive. Do it. They suggest having a yoga routine beforehand. Make sure you do. I did a bit, but three weeks wasn’t enough. It’s a lot of info to take in. But once you do, it’s so worth it. The group I was with was amazing. We became like family, and it was beautiful. We laughed, we cried, I even got some bruises. But it was all worth it. For such a low price, it’s more than you’d imagine. Nikki was an incredible instructor. She pushed just enough to show me what I could do, and I surprised myself. Spyros was the best anatomy instructor. His passion really shines through. Thank you, Yoga Union!

October 22, 2019 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved the training. I really wish I could have seen and experienced the main union yoga shala in the ricefields, but being in the mansion resort group prevented me from doing so. Also, in my opinion, the closing ceremony is better and more authentic there. The resort could be noisy at times since our shala was near the pool area, which wasn’t ideal for certain classes. However, the resort itself is really nice. The teachers are incredible. They cover everything you need to know about Asanas, alignment, variation, and the benefits of it all. They are caring and teach with a genuine love and commitment to yoga. It’s tough love, but they truly care for all the students. I’m so grateful to Nikole, our main teacher, for all the effort, patience, and care she put into teaching us. Spiros and Ourania are also amazing and have helped build a wonderful yoga community here. It’s a lot of information to absorb in just 3 weeks, so be sure to rest and clear your mind between classes to really take it all in again… especially later for the exam. The teaching starts right away and you build your flow step by step, while also teaching each other. It’s an intense physical, mental, and emotional experience, but it’s truly amazing and people really bond into a yogi family! I will always be thankful I did this! Namaste.

The instructors were top-notch. Himanshu, an amazing yoga teacher (seriously one of the BEST I’ve ever had), pushed us to reach our full potential. Ourania and Spyros, who taught alignment and anatomy, were so knowledgeable and great at explaining things clearly. All three of them were kind, genuine, and compassionate, always making sure we were happy, healthy, and focused on yoga.
Throughout the course, we tried out different yoga styles like yin, vinyasa, ashtanga, and hatha. Every morning, we practiced different types of pranayama/meditation. The workshops on foundational postures helped improve everyone’s practice almost instantly. People were mastering headstands, arm balances, and back bends faster and safer than ever before.
I can’t recommend this training enough. It transformed my practice and my life, and I would love to return to beautiful Ubud one day to experience even just a taste of it all over again.

I think it would be helpful to know about these options when booking. Overall, my experience was great, but it might vary for others. So, knowing in advance can keep everyone happy.
Deciding to come for a yoga teacher training was the best choice I’ve ever made. If you’re still on the fence, just go for it! Bali has a magical energy that can help you let go of negativity. And with amazing teachers like Ourania and Himanshu, along with all the other incredible people you’ll meet, this experience will truly transform you. It’s a peaceful place where you can be yourself, surrounded by others.
The training is tough and will push you physically and emotionally. There will be moments when you feel like giving up, but your supportive group will motivate you to keep going. No matter your reasons for training, you will grow and improve. While troubles won’t disappear overnight, and becoming a great teacher takes practice, YogaUnion in Ubud is the perfect place to begin.
To my group from the September course, I’m grateful for meeting all of you. You’ve helped me grow and believe in myself more. I hope we’ve all helped each other in some way. Best of luck to everyone in your future endeavors! And a big THANK YOU to our incredible teachers for sharing your wisdom with us!

September 24, 2019 at 12:00 amIt was a bit stressful because we learned so much in such a short amount of time, which was amazing. The yoga practice, schedule, teachers, workshops, vinyasa style instruction, and accommodation at the Mansion were all perfect.

September 23, 2019 at 12:00 amI recommend revising the training book to fix the mistakes and add missing postures. Everything else is perfect. The ricefield yoga shala is like a dream. Every little detail surrounding the place is unique. We had different classes in Bali with Yoga Union, and the ricefield group was the best for me. The remote location away from busy Ubud, the sounds of nature, birds, and occasional silence, the pathway to our beautiful shala, and the amazing restaurant 308 run by Ayung’s chef Putu and Yoga – yes, that’s really his name – who served us daily. At night, the fireflies and starlit sky made it magical. We were all spread out in little hotels along the pathway like neighbors in a village. My hotel, Nirwa Ubud Karma, was very comfortable.
The owners of Yoga Union, Ourania and Spyros, are probably the cutest couple you’ll ever see and embody love and devotion. They not only share love between themselves but also with their students, making us feel loved and supported during the intense training. The entire training crew – Himanshu, Jonas, Saavas, Juan Carlos, Florence, and the assistant Pablo – were all professional and competent. I’m so glad I chose this training to learn how to teach and spread Yoga. Thank you to the Teachers and Students of the August session for making this training a beautiful and unforgettable experience .

September 21, 2019 at 12:00 amThe hotel served a lot of the same food and it wasn’t always cooked well. We learned a lot with good guidance. We didn’t realize that in Ubud, they have two locations – one in the rice fields and another in a beautiful hotel.

September 21, 2019 at 12:00 amThe Yoga teacher training at YogaUnion was an unforgettable experience. I wasn’t sure if I should do a Yoga training at first, but the three weeks with my fellow Yogis, the teachers, and the magic of Bali showed me it was the right decision. So, if you’re still on the fence about booking a retreat, go for it!
The teachers at YogaUnion were all excellent! They had a great variety of personalities and teaching styles, so there was something for everyone to learn from. I always felt safe and supported. The teachers were professional, experienced, patient, and showed a great understanding of us students. I especially enjoyed the challenging Vinyasa classes with Savvas and the interesting anatomy lessons with Jonas. They made learning about the physical body so engaging that I want to study more in the future.

September 21, 2019 at 12:00 amWe found ourselves in a large group of 40 people, making individual feedback from the teachers more challenging. I anticipated a big group in August, as it is high season and the spacious Shala can accommodate many people. The experience was truly incredible. I miss the beautiful Shala in the ricefields and the wonderful teachers every day. I have no regrets about choosing this Training and would do it again and again! Thanks to all the teachers and organizers for making this experience possible and giving it your all!

September 10, 2019 at 12:00 amIf you want a once in a lifetime experience, this program is perfect for you. Whether you’re aiming to become a Yoga teacher or simply looking to grow personally and in your practice, I highly recommend this training. I was challenged in the most beautiful ways physically, mentally, and emotionally. I pushed my limits, laughed, cried, and felt overwhelming gratitude for being in Bali among rice fields, practicing in a gorgeous shala, with talented yogis from all over the world and amazing teachers who shared their wisdom. The knowledge I gained is something I’ll cherish forever, for my personal practice and as a Yoga teacher.
The cafe where we ate was fantastic, serving tasty vegan and gluten-free options. The staff was attentive, kind, and worked hard to keep us well-fed. The hotel I stayed at (Restu) was good, with any issues quickly resolved. The whole experience was incredible – I can’t praise it enough. I’ll carry this journey in my heart forever and can’t wait to return to Ubud.

September 6, 2019 at 12:00 amI feel like I didn’t get 50 hours of Yin training. The restorative course I took was intense and focused, but this one felt more like a mix of a retreat and a training course. The morning meditation and afternoon practices were nice, but it just wasn’t what I expected from a Yin training.
I have to admit, as much as I hate to say it, the food was terrible 🙁 Although, Vasso did a great job sharing her knowledge of Yin yoga and the training she provided was top-notch.
The location was beautiful and serene, creating the perfect setting for this training course. It was a peaceful and relaxing environment that really enhanced the experience.

September 5, 2019 at 12:00 amI wish there had been more fruit at lunch and dinner. I also would have liked smaller groups for the final lessons because all the classes were pretty tiring. Accommodations varied in quality – some had water in the rooms and kettles, some didn’t. But the shala in the rice fields was absolutely magical! Ourania, Spyros, and the team have created a paradise oasis. It’s a lot of hard work but they keep it light and fun for 3 weeks. They are so welcoming and warm, you feel like part of the family right away. The instructors were all great, from beginners to advanced. I started teaching clients with confidence almost immediately after the course ended. The walk to the shala is unforgettable, I walked barefoot most days. The meals were delicious and they served ginger lemongrass tea and water at the shala every day. The balance between classes and downtime was perfect. Try to read a bit of the training manual each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed at the end. Listen to your body and take breaks when needed during the long classes.

September 1, 2019 at 12:00 amI was really disappointed by the lack of communication in the beginning about where my training would be held. The ad said we would be in the rice field Shala, eating food from a nearby organic restaurant. Instead, we were at the mansion resort and the food got boring after a while, making it hard to feel nourished after long yoga sessions.
It was tough to deal with at first, but I ended up with amazing instructors, so I wouldn’t change it. I had hoped for more of a personal growth experience, but the instructors were fantastic. They were all so passionate about what they were teaching and sharing with us.
I gained so much knowledge about yoga, anatomy, and philosophy in just 3 weeks. It’s incredible how much I learned and retained, thanks to the instructors. Throughout the training, Yoga Union was always responsive to our concerns and needs. I felt safe in their hands, especially since most of us were traveling from all over the world.

September 1, 2019 at 12:00 amWe had a large group, so we didn’t get much personal critique on our teaching or yoga practice. But the energy from the group was wonderful and it was great to meet people from all over the world. More students meant more opportunities to learn from each other. The location of the Shala in the rice fields was absolutely breathtaking. They put a lot of effort into creating such a beautiful space. It was a privilege to be surrounded by nature and the magic of real Ubud every day.
The teachers were top-notch and each had their own unique style. They made us feel welcome and provided a safe environment for us to learn. There was a good mix of yoga styles and workshops throughout the course. By the end of it, we definitely felt prepared to become teachers. The anatomy and philosophy lessons provided a different perspective on yoga that was insightful.
The food at the nearby restaurant exceeded expectations. There was a variety of options and the staff was accommodating to any dietary needs. They even provided extra food for those with specific requirements.
Overall, my experience with YogaUnion was amazing. I am grateful for the rich and fulfilling experience they provided.

August 27, 2019 at 12:00 amSometimes the food got a little boring but it was easy to go down the street and buy something on those days. The last weeks schedule seemed a bit disorganized but everything still turned out fine. It would have been nice to have more teaching practice time but I think the other group got a lot of that so it depends on your teacher (ours was still great). The accommodation was much nicer than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The teachers were all awesome and really understanding and accommodating with our injuries and other issues. The daily schedule was good and not having to find and cook my own food after long days was a big plus! I definitely recommend these guys for sure 🙂

August 27, 2019 at 12:00 amOur group was pretty large due to the time of year. Sometimes this caused issues during meal times and when there was only one teacher in the shala, but they managed to make sure everyone was involved.
The arrival experience was a bit disorganized and could have used clearer instructions to make it smoother and less stressful. However, the course itself was simply excellent.
Each of the teachers was their authentic self, offering a variety of teaching styles and perspectives. Their passion for yoga and the yogic lifestyle was truly inspiring.

April 23, 2019 at 12:00 am1) The cooks at the Mansion served up a lot of veggies, so meat-lovers, beware! But breakfast was a hit – lots of delicious options to choose from.
2) The course can really push you to your limits, and by the second week, many people were feeling burnt out or falling ill. It’s important to pace yourself and take breaks when needed. Our group had a tough time with back-to-back practice days in the second week, which left us feeling exhausted. Luckily, the instructors were very supportive and understanding. Overall, the whole experience exceeded my expectations!
1) The course covers a wide range of topics, including asana alignment, yoga philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, and teaching practice. You’ll gain insights into both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga through a holistic approach. Plus, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice teaching classes and watch your skills grow over time.
2) Our group had a unique situation where we couldn’t practice at the regular shala and were moved to the luxurious Mansion Hotel in Ubud instead. I shared a spacious family suite with another participant and had a comfortable stay.
3) One of the best parts of the course was the sense of community that developed. I met people from all over the world and made lifelong friends. Even after the course ended, we stayed connected and continued to support each other. I highly recommend extending your stay in Bali to bond with your new friends and explore the island together.

April 20, 2019 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, due to factors beyond the school’s control, the location didn’t meet our expectations. I was really looking forward to coming to Ubud from Dubai and staying in the rice fields surrounded by nature. However, we ended up staying at the Mansion hotel instead. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful place and we received excellent treatment, but I was hoping for a more nature-focused experience.
On the bright side, I did get to see Yoga Union’s shala, which was absolutely stunning! It was nestled in the rice fields and was unlike any other shala I’ve seen before. The teachers were amazing, and the whole experience has been incredibly beneficial for me on my journey to becoming a yoga teacher. The classes were engaging and interactive, and every day brought new learning opportunities. The teachers were attentive and made sure we were all comfortable throughout the entire program.
I also had the chance to meet some wonderful people, who I hope will remain friends for life. I hope to return to Yoga Union someday. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to pursue a career as a yoga teacher. It truly was a fantastic experience!

March 25, 2019 at 12:00 amThere were a few minor issues with the program in Bali because it is still quite new. It would have been much easier to pay the remaining program amount with something like paypal. The accommodation was decent, but some guesthouses were nicer than others even though we paid the same price. The restaurant where we ate was beautiful and the staff were friendly, but the menu was repetitive until we asked for a change. These small issues wouldn’t stop me from highly recommending this yoga training. I absolutely loved the entire experience. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable and truly embodied Yogi philosophies. The daily vinyasa classes were all unique and creatively done. I’ve been spoiled and now struggle to find classes at home that compare. I left the program feeling fully prepared to start teaching my own classes.

October 2, 2018 at 12:00 amPlease come in prepared to attend school rather than going on vacation. This course will require a lot of homework, studying, and preparation. Sundays are free, but you may find yourself short on time for fun activities. It’s a challenging three weeks, but the rewards are worth it in the end. If you want to explore more of Bali, consider extending your trip a few days or weeks. I absolutely loved every part of the experience, despite a few ups and downs.
The course is structured well. You’ll start teaching small lessons in the first week, which can be intimidating, but by the end of 2.5 weeks, you’ll be ready to teach your final 30-minute class. You’ll also learn about philosophy, anatomy, and meditation, with tests on each topic. This may seem like a lot, but it helps you become a well-rounded yoga teacher. Afternoon sessions introduce you to various yoga styles, with a Vinyasa Flow class every morning. The classes are well-planned and cater to all skill levels, helping you improve your own practice.
The teachers are fantastic, offering support in yoga-related matters and personal issues. You’ll never feel alone!
Regarding accommodation, keep in mind you’re in Bali, so expect encounters with bugs. The bungalows are open, but you’ll get used to it. Make sure to bring bug spray and long pants.
As for the food, it’s healthy, tasty, and served at the same restaurants three times a day. Don’t be surprised if meals repeat occasionally. You can always choose to eat elsewhere if you prefer.

July 11, 2018 at 12:00 amI didn’t really like the location of the accommodation. The house was extremely isolated (not by the beach and no noteworthy view), there were no public transportation options, no shop for hygiene products, and the beach wasn’t within walking distance. If we hadn’t rented a car, we wouldn’t have seen anything of the beautiful peninsula. Also, my room was in the same building as the yoga classes, dining area, and common room. Personally, this wasn’t ideal for me because it was always relatively noisy and I couldn’t find a quiet place to retreat to since I spent the whole day going up and down the stairs in the same building. However, the yoga classes were top-notch – the instructors were all very passionate and knowledgeable. I learned a lot in a short amount of time and I am really happy with the experience.

July 9, 2018 at 12:00 amI found it a bit difficult to live in the same house where the courses took place with three other girls. As the schedule became more demanding and sleep hours decreased, I needed every break for rest or study. The house was always full of people, making it hard to find quiet moments for rest. Being confined to the same space for everything felt a bit claustrophobic. Renting a car to escape to the beach or town during breaks was a much-needed change. The food caused some stomach issues, but I ate out occasionally for variety.
Despite the house situation, the yoga teacher training was a lovely experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the passionate and skilled teachers. It was one of the best things I did for myself, learning a lot and growing as a person. I would highly recommend it. The teachers were competent and open, offering diverse perspectives. The anatomy and philosophy lessons were engaging, and the surroundings were beautiful. I made some lasting friendships and overall, it was a great experience.

July 4, 2018 at 12:00 amI didn’t like that it had to end. I miss the classes already, and it’s only been a week! I highly recommend Yoga Union to anyone interested in becoming a yoga teacher or deepening their practice. Even before I got to the training, I felt the warmth of the teachers in our correspondence. I was pretty sick before the training and wasn’t sure if I could handle it. Yoga Union was so supportive, giving me the time to decide and offering guidance that gave me the confidence to go for it. It was the best decision I ever made!
The training was amazing and we jumped right into challenging vinyasa classes from day one. I loved the variety of teachers – Ourania’s vinyasa classes, Sarah’s yin, Spyros’ Hatha, and Tony’s restorative classes were all fantastic! The yin was a great balance to the vinyasa practice our bodies needed after the first week. The days were long and the practice was tough, so make sure you’re ready before you start.
The theory part of the training was thorough, and we started teaching right away, which was a great way to learn. It helped me develop my own teaching style and grow in confidence. I’d recommend reading the course books before you arrive to build a strong foundation of knowledge that will support you throughout the course.

March 29, 2018 at 12:00 amThe training organization could be improved professionally. Here are a few things that could really enhance the quality of the training:
– Have students read the recommended books before class by assigning chapters to read (some students bought the books but never used them)
– Provide a detailed schedule for the 3 weeks on the first day, either during the introduction dinner or in each student’s room for those who can’t attend, to ensure transparency and clarity.
– Ensure that the accommodation description is accurate to avoid any disappointment due to mismatched expectations.
– Avoid talking negatively about previous students to prevent any feelings of insecurity among current students.
– Treat every student equally during teaching exams to provide fair attention, as it was noticed that some students received more focus than others during class.
The teachers were very passionate and knowledgeable about yoga, covering alignment, the human body, philosophy, and asanas. The daily schedule included morning meditation, a great yoga class with Ourania, and delicious breakfast with fresh fruits and porridge. The asana classes were insightful, helping with posture correction and learning more about the practice. The philosophy lessons with Coralia were enlightening, providing background knowledge on yoga theory. Anatomy classes were a bit disorganized with missing pages in the syllabus, but they still helped understand the human body in relation to yoga.
The journey with 29 other students over three weeks was challenging but rewarding. The first week was tough on the body, but by week two and three, things felt more manageable. Overall, it was a great personal experience with some areas to improve for future yoga teacher training sessions.

March 28, 2018 at 12:00 amThe wifi wasn’t the strongest, but I expected that in Indonesia. We also shared a Shala with another group who was upstairs, and sometimes the noise would clash with their meditation, or the other way around. But honestly, I had nothing to complain about. Everything was amazing. This experience was a dream come true. Ourania and Koralia are amazing teachers who have taught me so much. I am so grateful for them and all of the people in our class who I will be friends with forever. The food was amazing, the location was beautiful, and the daily classes were amazing. I needed this experience to push me, and it did exactly that.

March 28, 2018 at 12:00 amThe day’s structure was perfect. The food was excellent and, of course, Bali is paradise. But what stands out the most is the incredible instruction. Koralia and Ourenia are both beyond amazing.

March 26, 2018 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved every minute of it! Everything was perfect – from the accommodation and the area to the food, the other people on the course, and most importantly, the teachers. Our schedule was clear, well-organized, and well thought out. Our days were filled with practice and lessons that never got boring. All our requests were taken care of, so we could just focus on enjoying our yoga practice. I never imagined I would learn so much and connect with so many wonderful people. It was incredible to see everyone evolve and eventually teach their own classes. It was such a valuable and life-changing experience for the price. I highly recommend doing your teacher training with Yoga Union – you won’t regret it!

March 21, 2018 at 12:00 amI don’t have any negatives to share. If I had to wish for something, it would be that all the participants stayed together in one place. But that didn’t even turn out to be an issue because we got to see all those amazing places in the rice fields.
I absolutely loved this teacher training for a few reasons. First, it helps you grow as a person both practically and spiritually. It really makes you reflect on yourself and dive deep into your inner self.
Second, there is a huge emphasis on teaching. You start teaching from week 1, which builds your confidence up by the end of the training.
And lastly, the location, the people, the food, and the teachers all made it feel like a magical experience that brought a smile to my face every single day.

March 7, 2018 at 12:00 amFirstly, I was frustrated that the course advertised a maximum of 15 people, but ended up having 35. As a result, I didn’t receive any constructive feedback for over two weeks because of the high student-teacher ratio.
The Anatomy and Philosophy classes were confusing due to the lack of structure and organization in the way the lessons were delivered. We weren’t encouraged to take notes and didn’t receive hand-outs to help us follow along. The Teacher Training manual was poorly printed and had to be redone.
Although all texts were supposed to be provided, many of us had to buy an additional text to better understand the Anatomy section.
During our practice teaching sessions, the teachers were often distracted and didn’t provide helpful criticism. They would come in and out of our lessons, sometimes even being on the phone while we were being evaluated.
I wished for a more supportive learning environment where students wouldn’t feel left behind. On the bright side, the setting was beautiful with rice fields surrounding us. The yoga classes were fantastic, with passionate teachers leading clear Vinyasa lessons. They were great at providing detailed feedback and adjustments when needed.
The food was delicious with a great vegan selection, although it would have been nice to have more protein options other than soy products.

March 7, 2018 at 12:00 amThey falsely advertised the course, claiming there would be a maximum of 15 people, but when I arrived, there were actually 35 people. It was very unprofessional of them to tell me I was the last one to book when clearly that wasn’t true. Despite the misleading numbers, the teachers were actually top-notch and very knowledgeable.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amThe main problem I had was that it was disorganised. We didn’t always know which location we would be at the next morning and ended up wandering around until we found our teachers. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a plan in place for the three weeks in advance – we only found out a few days ahead. I understand the teachers wanted flexibility, but with a plan, you can still make changes if needed and students can plan their personal time without feeling stressed.
I never got the Shatkarma kit that was promised and had to specifically ask for the included massage. Neither were mentioned or offered from the beginning.
Overall, I think their teaching is excellent and I learned so much. However, it would be beneficial for them to have a dedicated administration person during the course to alleviate some pressure. I truly appreciated the knowledge our teachers shared and their personal experiences. They were open to questions at any time, which was great.
Ourania and Koralia had different personalities, which gave us a well-rounded view of the topics they taught. We started teaching and receiving feedback right away, which was challenging but rewarding. I enjoyed learning different styles of yoga in addition to Vinyasa.
Living and studying among the beautiful rice fields of Ubud was ideal. Both locations for our classes had amazing views and provided equipment like pillows and blocks. I stayed at Gusti Garden, which was basic but comfortable. WiFi was better than at Prashanti, and the owner was always friendly and helpful. The umbrellas they provided were a nice touch!
The food at Prashanti was delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but I wouldn’t call it fully macrobiotic as advertised – it was more Indonesian-style vegan cuisine.
I had a fantastic time with supportive, like-minded students who have now become my friends.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amThey didn’t organize things as promised. Classes were all over the place – I lived in one spot, had food in another. It was chaotic – lots of confusion and winging it. The instructors were great, but the way they taught anatomy seemed like they were just making it up as they went along. Hard to believe they’d done this before – supposedly for 8 years straight. I felt like it was their first time. It stressed us out – instead of being peaceful yogis, I was worried about failing. The instructors tried to fix things, but the vibe was off. Hopefully, the next one will be better. But overall, I still enjoyed it! The location in the rice fields was amazing, even though we were at Dragonfly for yoga instead of Prashanti. Ubud is incredible – I absolutely loved Bali!

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amThe structure and organization really need some work. They could have benefited from an assistant. Things were not handled correctly and many students were upset. When we were asked for our feedback, the teachers became defensive and dismissive.
The website says 15 max, but there were 35 of us. We were told that didn’t make a difference, but I think it did. I didn’t receive enough instruction or help and felt lost and ignored. Certain students seemed to get most of the attention.
I was promised one accommodation but was given another that was not as nice. It was half the price online compared to what the other girls were staying in, yet I had to pay full price. There was mold in my room, leading to health issues, and my luggage got moldy too. I tried to address these issues but felt dismissed.
The shala where we practiced was beautiful and I learned a lot. I liked being introduced to different forms of yoga, not just Vinyasa, but I wanted more explanation about them. The teachers were knowledgeable but not always organized. I met some amazing women.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amIf it’s more organized, it’ll be perfect. The entire training was incredible – you can literally feel your body and mind getting stronger each day. The teachers are amazing, they have so much knowledge about yoga. I learned so much about myself during this course, becoming more aware of my mind and emotions. The healing wisdom from meditation is something I can use daily to find peace. This training definitely changed my life.

February 28, 2018 at 12:00 amThe accommodation didn’t meet our expectations. The bathroom was musty and damp, and there were no drinking water facilities. But overall, everything was nice, just minor issues. The large class had us spread out among different venues, causing some confusion. It was their first time organizing in Bali. Both teachers were amazing, strong women with unique qualities. It was awesome having them as mentors. The long meditation was loved. It was an awesome personal experience. The feedback was great and gave good insight into yoga teaching and lifestyle choices.

February 28, 2018 at 12:00 amOurania teaches an amazing and very strong vinyasa flow class that will push you to your limits in your own practice and teaching journey. The combination with Corelia is perfect as they both have a lot of experience and share those years of experiences in the training. I learned a lot and really appreciate those two teachers for sharing their knowledge.

February 27, 2018 at 12:00 amOrganize the day and make sure to clearly announce where we need to be. We must document anatomy during the anatomy lesson. Dinner is the same every day. We will discuss the philosophy of yoga and practice yoga in the beautiful surroundings during breakfast and dinner.

February 27, 2018 at 12:00 amThey advertised 15 people, but we actually had 33, so that’s a misleading advertisement. The instructors didn’t encourage feedback. The anatomy classes and course material were disorganized. We had to pay extra to have the anatomy book printed on A4 paper because it wasn’t on the list they provided. However, the Vinyasa morning classes were excellent! The location, in the middle of the rice fields, is beautiful. Coralia always gave great adjustments!
