Program

Pelan Pelan Bali retreat has 8 rooms, situated around a large outdoor swimming pool in the middle of a beautiful Balinese garden on the river. You’ll find plenty of peaceful spaces where you can relax, enjoy a massage at our outdoor massage room, sip on a fresh juice, or meet other people from around the world.

We offer yoga classes and meditation sessions in our yoga sala down by the river, taught by different professional teachers. Our surf & yoga retreat is divided into 3 levels. The upper level has a building with 4 single rooms, the middle level has the common area, pool, and two rooms. Down by the river, you’ll find our yoga sala, a lovely garden, outdoor massage area, and a traditional Indonesian joglo with two rooms.

At Pelan Pelan, we believe in providing surf lessons that cater to your personal preferences. Our goal is to ensure that all our guests receive customized attention. Our surf school staff has years of teaching experience and extensive knowledge of the local surf scene in Bali. They grew up around Canggu and know all the waves in Bali like the back of their hand. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced surfer, you’ll be able to catch your wave at Pelan Pelan Surf School! If you have any specific changes or goals in mind, feel free to ask and explain them clearly.

Not only that, but it also attracts artists, hippies, surfers, hipsters, celebrities, and the wealthy, making each village and area unique. The retreat near Canggu is known for its amazing surf, stunning nature, and peacefulness. It’s a great escape from the busier and more touristy areas like Canggu and Kuta, which are known for their bustling atmosphere and parties. What really makes people want to visit Bali each year is the friendly locals. The area around Canggu is one of the best spots for surfing in Bali, and at Pelan Pelan’s surf school, we only hire the best local teachers. There are multiple surf spots with waves suitable for both beginners and advanced surfers. In the retreat, we prioritize incorporating local traditions and lifestyle. By doing so, we create an environment where we can learn from each other, resulting in a wonderful experience for everyone.

As for distances, Canggu is just a 15-minute drive away. Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is about an hour away, while Seminyak is approximately 45 minutes away. If you’re heading to Ubud, it’ll take you about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Food

We’ll serve you with delicious and nutritious breakfast every day. And from Monday to Friday, our Indonesian chefs will prepare homemade lunch for you, using the best fresh ingredients they find at the market. We’ll also offer you coffee, tea, and water from the dispenser. So, you can enjoy a healthy and satisfying meal during your stay. Here’s what’s included in your meals: breakfast, lunch, and drinks.

Things to do (optional)

During your stay at this retreat, you have the opportunity to book a variety of day trips, tours, or activities. Aside from surfing and relaxing by the pool, there are plenty of other things you can do to enhance your time in Bali. Take your pick from the options available and have the time of your life.

One option is to go cycling around Ubud to learn about the beautiful Bali culture. Your guide will show you the charming villages surrounding Ubud, and the price for a full day is 45 EUR.

Another activity you can enjoy is a guided private meditation session. Through meditation, you can experience inner peace as your concentration increases and your mind becomes silent. It teaches you to be peaceful and find calmness, allowing you to escape the constant hyperactivity of your mind.

If you’re feeling creative, you can take a jewelry making class and craft your own silver jewelry as a memento of your time in Bali. The class lasts for three hours and costs around 40 EUR.

For those who want to explore the island, you can book a driver for a day and go on a tour. The cost is approximately 50 EUR per car.

If you’re up for a challenge, you can go trekking up Mount Agung and witness the breathtaking sunrise from the volcano.

Lastly, treat yourself to some indulgent spa treatments, such as massages, facials, hair treatments, and manicures or pedicures. Pamper yourself and feel rejuvenated during your time in Bali.

What's included

You’ll get 14 nights of accommodation, with a daily healthy breakfast served to you. We’ll also provide homemade Indonesian lunches from Monday to Friday. You’ll have access to free coffee, tea, and water whenever you want. We’ll even pick you up from the airport! You’ll have a surfboard at your disposal and we’ll arrange for 10 surf lessons or guiding sessions from Monday to Friday. There will also be 8 yoga sessions, including 2 meditation sessions. To help you relax even more, you’ll have 6 massage sessions. And to explore Bali, we’ll take you on a half-day trip. Oh, and you can freely use a scooter while you’re here.
