December 24, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t have high expectations because their Instagram didn’t reveal much, but the experience turned out to be truly genuine and amazing. Our group consisted of 8 people and we bonded throughout the program. I felt completely at ease with the teachers, staff, and everyone else involved. The food, mostly Indonesian with rice, tofu or tempeh, and vegetables, was absolutely delicious. Not only did I enjoy the physical aspect, but the spiritual side (which was new to me) was also incredible. Learning Hatha from Via was an amazing experience. She teaches you to stay calm and provide just the right amount of information without overwhelming people. It helped me tremendously! Of course, the other teachers were equally exceptional and eager to share their yoga knowledge. If you’re looking for an authentic place with individuals who live and breathe yoga, I highly recommend it.

November 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI absolutely didn’t like how Aerial Yoga was taught, it was lacking in everything. After just 2 classes without even explaining how the lesson is structured, we were told to create a class. Out of 5 sessions, 3 were where we had to teach our classmates… I really didn’t learn much. I really liked the teaching method of instructor Obi because you can tell they put their heart and soul into it.

August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe place where we practiced Yoga and the props were extremely unhygienic. We all had a terrible experience participating in Yin yoga. On top of that, even though we paid for the course, we had to attend classes in nearby studios. And to make matters worse, the lead instructor mentioned in the certificate was nowhere to be found. The food was supposed to be satvik, but it was just okay.
Helpful ReviewAlexis Mcduffee
August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe yoga props provided here were of poor quality and cleanliness. The mats and blocks at this studio are honestly some of the dirtiest and lowest quality I’ve ever seen. That’s why I decided to bring my own mat to avoid using theirs.
Honestly, most teachers here don’t really prepare you to become a yoga instructor. They mainly just watch you do your flows and rarely give any feedback or help with alignment during or after class.
As for the accommodation, it was pretty meh. The sheets and towels were stained and dirty. During my first 100 hours, the shower didn’t have hot water and the toilet was broken. They eventually fixed the toilet, but also put a random board on the ceiling to cover up water damage from above. Thankfully, when I switched rooms for the second 100 hours, the bathroom situation was better. Oh, and you have to ask to have your room cleaned and sheets/towels changed.
Despite those issues, I have to say that Azmi and Yansha were some of the best teachers I’ve ever had the opportunity to learn from. Their passion and energy were infectious, and they made sure we were well-prepared to become yoga teachers. They genuinely cared about ensuring we understood the difference between simply practicing yoga and actually learning and utilizing this experience. I also really enjoyed Obi and Veny’s classes, although they were more focused on learning as students rather than potential teachers.
On a positive note, the food here was really good. However, if you’re doing the 200-hour program instead of just 100 hours, the menu can get a bit repetitive. It would also be great if there were more protein options for breakfast, considering the amount of physical activity we do each day.
Overall, I ended up enjoying my time here because of the personal growth I experienced, the wonderful people I met, and the incredible energy from the teachers who were truly passionate about teaching us.

May 20, 2023 at 12:00 amI was really disappointed with the hiring of a yoga teacher. During the exam, she just sat in the corner, using her phone or looking bored. The food was great though, and the location was really convenient.

April 26, 2023 at 12:00 amI had an amazing time during the Aayaa yoga teacher training in Bali. The shower area was a great place for me to relax and unwind. I absolutely loved practicing yoga and meditation outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful greenery and the sounds of birds and lizards. It was especially magical in the mornings. And let’s not forget the delicious tropical fruits we had for breakfast afterwards.
The teachers at Aayaa were not only knowledgeable but also a lot of fun to be around. They were truly passionate about helping us understand and learn yoga and meditation from within. I really needed a break from everything and wanted to learn how to meditate, so this experience was absolutely perfect for me.
What made it even better was getting to meet new people who shared my interest in healthy lifestyles. Plus, the food, nature, weather, sun, and massages were all simply amazing. I had the best time and ended up learning more than I had expected.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and the Aayaa crew. Thank you so much for everything! I’ll definitely be back for more.

February 26, 2023 at 12:00 amThe room was pretty basic, but it served its purpose. Sometimes the meals lacked enough protein. The teachers were incredible! Right from the start, I could tell how experienced they all were. I gained much more knowledge than I expected from the 200 hour course. My experience here was fantastic! I met some amazing people during the course, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and though the room was simple, it got the job done. I would definitely recommend this school!

December 27, 2022 at 12:00 amI found the meditation classes to be a bit strange. The teacher kept telling stories about his guru turning a man into a stone and stopping a plane just so his friend could get on. He even claimed to have the power to control the rain and bring pets back to life through meditation (apparently his friend did it). Personally, I thought these comments were out of place for a meditation class and it made it hard for me to connect with the class since he kept repeating them so often.
On the bright side, everything else about the environment was great. The location was lovely and the yoga room was really nice. I felt comfortable in my bedroom as well. Most of the other teachers were excellent, especially the asthanga, vinyasa, hatha, yin, and aerial yoga instructors. The pranayama classes were also enjoyable 🙂

December 3, 2022 at 12:00 amThe hotel staff was very nice, but I had a hard time keeping my space clean. They didn’t provide any toiletries, not even hand soap in the bathroom. They only gave us one towel, which was personally challenging for me. However, please don’t let this discourage you. The course is definitely worth the value.
I absolutely loved this course! It was so enjoyable, and although it was physically challenging at times, it was just the right amount of challenge. The staff were all lovely and fantastic. The course provided detailed information, and I learned much more than I expected. The food was amazing! I truly experienced a transformation and am extremely excited to continue my yoga journey.

August 5, 2022 at 12:00 amI’ve had an amazing experience here. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their wisdom. Via, in particular, has taught me how to breathe in a way that will stick with me forever. Shanti is someone special who really knows her stuff in Philosophy class. I’m grateful for every meditation class with Hari – he truly practices what he preaches. And Jaggy, all the way from India, gave us valuable lessons in Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy.
And then there’s Ida, who led us in singing the Sun Salutation – such a precious experience.
The place we’ve been staying at is perfect. The ricefields and natural paths surrounding it allow you to take in deep breaths while enjoying the beautiful colors all around. Plus, the food is not only delicious but also healthy, and the staff always serve it with a smile.
I’ve gained so much from this experience – even more than I expected. What I loved the most is that they stick to the traditional principles of yoga. It’s becoming rare to find a non-Westernized experience of this ancient art of living, especially in Bali. Your body will definitely thank you for it.

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amOur teachers Via, Shanti, Ida, and Igor were very warm and open-minded people. They guided us very well and pushed us to our limits. The training woke me up and made me rethink a lot of things. My own practice now looks much more mindful. It’s no longer about faster, higher, and further, but about what is good for me and how can I incorporate this thinking into my teaching.

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amAlthough the dining and teaching/practice areas and our rooms were more or less clean, the complex in general could improve its cleanliness standards. I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers: Via, Igor, Shanti, and Ida, who shared their knowledge and skills with an open heart, patience, and love. They provided us with the best sources for learning, and it was our responsibility as students to make the most of it. I appreciate how the course strikes a balance between spiritual aspects of yoga and asana practice. Inspired by the teachers, I truly realized the infinite possibilities that yoga, as a science that you practice, offers in this course. The food was delicious! I would also like to thank the staff, especially Hari, who was always available and helpful when needed.

March 22, 2020 at 12:00 amThere were warning signs when we arrived. They sent me on a scooter to a jewellery store to get cash for my course. The opening ceremony was only 15 minutes long and none of our instructors showed up. Most of the time was spent filling out forms.
I only attended day one and the classes were a mess. The teachers were not the ones advertised on their website and they didn’t even show their credentials. The yin yoga teacher didn’t seem very knowledgeable or interested. The philosophy and anatomy classes were just a continuation from a previous course, so we were jumping in the middle. On top of that, the classes weren’t well taught.
I immediately contacted Aayaa yoga after day one, and I’ve sent a second email detailing my issues. I had hoped they weren’t aware of how poorly their Rishikesh school is being run, but I haven’t heard back from them yet.
If you’re serious about learning yin yoga, I strongly recommend staying away from this school. The food was okay and the building manager was nice and sorry about what happened.

February 10, 2020 at 12:00 amI really liked it, but for me, as a non-vegetarian, I felt like there was too much rice, veggies, tofu, and tempeh… It tasted great, but it made my stomach bloated, so I switched to just having soups. And let me tell you, they were absolutely delicious!
The breakfast options were on point – fruit, pancakes, fried bananas – the best meal ever! I seriously wish I could have stayed there longer, or maybe even move there, haha!
In my opinion, being taught by real Eastern culture is a completely different experience. It’s hard to put into words, but it really opens up your heart and helps you put your ego aside. I think it’s something that every Western person should experience at least once in their life!
The teachers are all so unique in their own way, and when they come together, the energy in the room is so loving and beautiful. They make you laugh so hard, but they also take their job seriously and are there to teach you, heal you, and share their knowledge. They genuinely care about you and are always happy to help.
The multistyle yoga classes were perfect for me because I was able to find the style that suited me the most and that I enjoyed teaching the most.
Let me tell you, Bali is hands down the most beautiful country with some of the most beautiful souls I have ever encountered. The swimming pool is great, and the rooms are spacious with a stunning view for watching the sunset. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and spas within walking distance, and it’s also close to the Monkey Forest.

January 31, 2020 at 12:00 amI enrolled in Aayaa yoga for a one week aerial yoga course and ended up staying for a whole month! As soon as I arrived at the school, I felt welcomed and right at home. The manager, Pabi, was so sweet. She helped me settle in quickly and made sure I was comfortable with everything. In the evening, all the students gathered for a welcome ceremony and we instantly hit it off. The next day, our classes began and I fell in love with aerial yoga. Our amazing teacher, Konty, made the experience even better. I knew right then and there that I wanted to extend my stay and complete the 200 hour ttc. Pabi and the rest of the management team went above and beyond to accommodate my last-minute request.
The other classes, like Vinyasa and Yin, taught by Konty, were also exceptional. It didn’t matter if you were a beginner or an advanced student, the classes were designed for everyone. Vishu’s Philosophy class was eye-opening and he is truly an excellent teacher. Dwayne’s Anatomy class was detailed and insightful as well. They both made the learning experience extraordinary.
I am so grateful for the incredible experience, the amazing people I met, the valuable skills I learned, and most importantly, the strong bond we created together. Thank you for everything!

January 30, 2020 at 12:00 amIf you’re looking for a relaxing and chill retreat, this probably isn’t the right place for you. At this retreat, everything happens with TTC students, so you’re not just attending yoga classes, you’re also learning about yoga.
We ended up moving to different accommodations, which were actually worse than the first ones. However, Aayaa made an effort to make up for the inconveniences by providing extra blankets, heaters, and getting electricians to fix the hot water issue. Whenever you have a problem, they’ll help you solve it.
Classes always start late, which is great if you struggle to wake up in the mornings, but it can be annoying if you’re punctual.
Before you apply, make sure to ask for all the details in advance because the information on bookyogaretreats can be a bit misleading about what’s included.
The retreat is farther from Laxman Jhula and the city vibe, but it’s within walking distance, so it’s not a big problem. Considering the amount of money you’re spending, don’t expect luxury service and complete pampering. However, it’s still alright for what it’s worth.
Being together with the TTC students was great for me to get insight into what it’s like to be a part of the program before I signed up.
I got a complimentary rafting experience, which was really fun and inclusive for everyone.
The Ashtanga class teacher is amazing!
You can join all the classes that the students are taking, so it’s a great opportunity to learn more about yoga, postures, philosophy, and more.
The food was delicious and enjoyable.

December 29, 2019 at 12:00 amEveryone tried their best to accommodate us, but sometimes they couldn’t meet our restricted diet. I understand that it’s challenging, but I appreciate their efforts. This retreat exceeded our expectations. Our teachers, Manish and Kounty, were absolutely incredible. They have a wealth of skills, experience, and knowledge. They’re also flexible, funny, and adaptable. Manish guided us through the complexities of yoga philosophy and spirituality, patiently answering all our questions. Kounty impressed us with his amazing teaching style, combining yoga with dance, gymnastics, and fitness. He did it all with a smile, a great spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor, while still maintaining the seriousness of a yogi. These teachers tailored their training to suit a diverse class and our family with varying ages and abilities. We are simply speechless and forever thankful to them.
The operational manager, Pabitra, and business owner, Manish, took great care of us and accommodated our requests. Our two chefs cooked delicious and nutritious meals, serving them with a calm and relaxed attitude. Our accommodations were in a charming house, with the owner living nearby and the beach just a short distance away. There were also many lovely restaurants and shops in the area. The house owners were always quick to respond and made sure we felt comfortable and well-cared for.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we’re grateful to everyone involved in this short yoga journey. A heartfelt namaste from our family to all of you!

November 11, 2019 at 12:00 amThe marketing for this place is a complete lie. I really feel bad writing all of this because the teachers were nice, but I can’t help but think it’s manipulative and dishonest coming from the Marketing/Indian owner.
The teachers were not what they were advertised as. The accommodation was disgusting, with a moldy pillow, a towel that smelled like a dog, and blocked drains. And when we pointed out the issue, they didn’t even bother to properly fix it. They just unscrewed the pipes and put a bucket under the sink. And don’t even get me started on the pool – they never bothered to clean it, so it was yellow when we left.
The food was hit or miss, definitely not the Ayurvedic experience they promised. It was low budget with sugary breakfasts and too much Tofu/Tempeh, which left us bloated and in pain.
The yoga philosophy was extremely difficult to follow, and honestly, you could learn more from a book or video. And they promised 200 hours of training, but it was more like 150 hours. Plus, half of the yoga classes were just like going to a normal class, with no adjustments given.
To top it all off, there was no Ayurveda class unless we asked for it ten times. And when they finally gave in, they just showed us a video. Oh, and forget about any flower or fruit composition for ceremonies.
Basically, everything they said on their website about the facilities was a lie.
I have to say though, Ubud is an amazing and spiritual place, and I am grateful that the course was held here. The teachers were nice and knowledgeable, so thank you to them. I had fun and enjoyed my time here, but I wouldn’t say that all of us are ready to be teachers after this. It’s more like a yoga retreat than a proper yoga teacher training course.

They should definitely allow more time for adjustments and teaching practices.
As for the accommodation itself, the view is stunning. But the swimming pool is tiny and the toilets smell bad. The rooms are old and the bed linens are dirty. On the bright side, the staff is friendly and the teachers are amazing and inspiring. The philosophy, meditation, and asana classes are really good. September 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a fantastic experience at aayaa yoga school for my first yoga teacher training. It was the perfect place to deepen my practice and learn more about yoga and all its aspects. They taught four different styles, which allowed me to explore various approaches to yoga and adapt my classes accordingly. The staff at the accommodation were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure to cater to my gluten-free eating preference. The location, close to Ubud, had a lovely peaceful atmosphere with beautiful rice fields nearby. The teachers were truly amazing, sharing their experiences and wisdom with us. I highly recommend this school, as it was the ideal start to my yoga journey. Best wishes, Theresa.

September 6, 2019 at 12:00 amThe wifi consistently gave me problems and didn’t work… it was really frustrating because I had to go to the cafe down the road if I wanted to study or download a movie for some downtime in my room, or even call my family back home. But luckily, that’s something they can fix in the long run 🙂 My expectations for the retreat were surpassed! I learned the true meaning of yoga, which goes beyond just poses/asanas (although I definitely worked hard on those too!). The philosophy and meditation classes were my favorite because they gave me life-changing knowledge and a new perspective on life that will stay with me forever. I feel so much more calm in my mind and soul now… and I even noticed a huge difference in my body after just three weeks! As a beginner, I found the course pretty intense, but it was worth every penny. I’m proud to say that I am now confident in my own self-practice and ready to share my learning as a certified yoga teacher. I’m truly grateful to all the teachers at Aayaa yoga who helped me along the way. They were all incredibly patient, happy, knowledgeable, and caring! They even organized a day trip to the waterfalls, which was really cool of them. And I have to mention the food because it was absolutely delicious! I couldn’t wait for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day… I just couldn’t get enough of it :D. I totally recommend coming here because you get so much more than what you pay for. A big thanks to everyone at Aayaa yoga!

September 5, 2019 at 12:00 amWhat a wonderful place! I felt totally comfortable from the very first second. The teachers are truly excellent and they paid attention to each and every student, which was really admirable! It’s a stay that will stay in my memory forever and has actually personally helped me a lot. Such a special experience. Thank you so much!

August 26, 2019 at 12:00 amIn my opinion, the facilities should have been a lot cleaner. I’m talking about my room, the bathroom, and even the yogamats. The food could have been much more varied as well. It mainly consisted of white rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s kind of disappointing, considering the hostel was told about my late-night arrival but they didn’t prepare the room. So, unfortunately, I had to make do without toilet paper, towels, and soap. It was definitely not a pleasant experience after traveling for over 24 hours to get there. On a positive note, the program was worth the money. The teachers were competent, and the location, food, and accommodation were somewhat as expected.

August 3, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a few days in Ubud and really wanted to do some yoga. Luckily, I found some nearby yoga classes, but I was craving more of a retreat-like experience to fully immerse myself. That’s when I came across Manish, who was incredibly responsive and accommodating.
Thanks to him, I was able to join a yoga teacher training course where I got to attend asana classes, as well as learn about yoga philosophy and teachings. The teachers were amazing and really knowledgeable. Plus, everyone was super friendly, and I had a great time chatting with them about things beyond just yoga.
The best part was that this course was still in its early stages, so it had a intimate vibe with a small group. It was such a fantastic experience that I’ll always cherish.

August 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a fantastic experience at the yoga training in Ubud. The accommodation was amazing and the location was perfect. One of the things I loved about the yoga hall was that it wasn’t enclosed, so you always felt connected to nature. After a few days, it felt like home, and it wasn’t just because of the accommodations. The people I met there were awesome, and we had a lot of fun together and had some deep conversations. The teachers were all super nice, genuine, and supportive. They were always there to help whenever we needed it. During the yoga practice, we learned a lot from the experienced teachers and also had a great time. They were all so friendly and always willing to explain things when needed. One of the things I appreciated most about this training was the integration of physical practice and mental knowledge. It’s important to understand both aspects when it comes to yoga and teaching it. We also got to learn different yoga styles, which was great for trying out new things and finding what we liked the most. The teaching style was professional but also relaxed, so we always felt comfortable. We all became friends and the overall atmosphere was always positive. I enjoyed everything about this training and I highly recommend it! I’m so glad I chose this school because it gave me the opportunity to meet amazing people and learn a lot about myself. And a huge thank you to Via, Shani, and Jagjeet for being so amazing, as well as to my classmates. I already miss you all! Sending lots of love <3

July 17, 2019 at 12:00 amDuring our training, we weren’t lucky because there were construction works just in front of the hotel. The noise was sometimes annoying, but it won’t be for future trainings.
There was a lack of dessert for meals. The training was multi-style, which allowed us to discover yoga styles we had never practiced before. This made the training more diversified.
The location in UBUD is quiet but close to the center. It’s ideal for relaxing with a massage, eating ice cream, or going to the market.
The food is very good and the staff is very kind.

July 9, 2019 at 12:00 amThe construction in the neighborhood is distracting, but it should be finished soon. What can you do, it’s Bali 🙂 We have amazing food, a safe and clean hotel, passionate and knowledgeable teachers, and a business that cares.

June 22, 2019 at 12:00 amI had a great week where I could not only relax but also learn a ton! The yoga and theory teachers were super nice and were able to teach a lot in a short amount of time. What I really loved was being able to join the teacher trainee’s classes!

June 21, 2019 at 12:00 amI could only suggest diversifying the food a bit more, but that’s just because I have a sensitive stomach 😉 The 50h Aerial YTT I participated in was well-prepared and covered all the important aspects needed to practice aerial yoga safely and to teach it without causing accidents or injuries.
The instructor for aerial yoga was highly experienced and structured the course really well. He even gave every student the opportunity to teach the entire 1-hour class! The aerial classroom was available 24/7, so we could practice on our breaks and get ready for our classes.
Manish, who organized the training, was very professional from the start. He responded quickly and made sure all the students felt welcome and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised when they sent forms asking for my medical history and food preferences.
When I arrived at the retreat, I was warmly welcomed! Parvitra did an amazing job making sure every student felt like part of the family. She went above and beyond by organizing extra activities like massages, water rafting in Ganga, and even a tattoo artist session for students who requested them. If students needed any adjustments to the schedule or additional classes, Manish and Parvitra did their best to accommodate them.
The place itself was clean, air-conditioned, and had good WiFi. Definitely great value for the money!

June 8, 2019 at 12:00 amI participated in the retreat by joining a group who were completing their teacher training. We had yoga sessions in the morning and evening, along with some extra activities. There was plenty of free time during the day, but the high temperatures made it difficult to do anything outside. The yoga sessions were informative and practical, but there was a lack of spiritual guidance, making it feel more like a hotel holiday with some yoga tossed in. The yoga studios didn’t have the spiritual ambiance I was hoping for – no music, scents, or dim lighting. You could come for the retreat any day and the rooms were comfortable with air conditioning. Pabrita was always available to offer help and advice, making sure everyone had a great experience. The massage was amazing and rafting was a fun activity. The food was decent, but if someone in the group didn’t like spicy food, we all ended up with bland meals, which was a letdown in India. We attended a beautiful fire ceremony as a group one evening. Overall, it’s a great deal for the price.

May 27, 2019 at 12:00 amI loved the training! They addressed any issues right away and the location of the retreat was perfect. The teachers were knowledgeable and had a lot to offer. The alignment teacher taught me so much, and I found his lessons really useful for my future as a yoga teacher. The Ashtanga teacher was tough but really knew their stuff and gave great adjustments. The Philosophy teacher was helpful and dedicated their private time to helping us with any problems. The food was delicious, especially the mushrooms and spinach soy bean milk cream sauce! The staff was friendly and even remembered my favorite drink. Pabitra, our amazing manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for us. She even helped me during the hike, I couldn’t have done it without her.

May 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t love the way things were organized. It was slightly unclear, like the instructors were surprised to see me when I showed up on my scheduled date for teacher training. It felt like I was on a separate schedule from the others.
It was kind of hard to find the facility since the name “aayaayoga” isn’t listed on maps. Making payment was difficult since they didn’t accept cards at the location, but everything else was fine. The people at the retreat were very accommodating, from the amazing manager Pabi to the kitchen workers. The facilities were great and the food was delicious, with special requests like extra tea and pancakes being no problem.
The yoga instructors were very informative. The morning hatha class was a great way to wake up, and the meditation sessions at the end of the day were very relaxing. The challenging ashtanga class was helpful in improving form, thanks to Neeraj who ensured we got deeper into poses.
I also loved the rafting and had the best massage I’ve had in the past 6 months in Asia!

April 23, 2019 at 12:00 amThe regular hotel where the “retreat” is being held has non-Yoga guests who are not respecting any rest time. They are using the common area as a living room so there are no exterior areas available. This place is not suitable for a yoga retreat or teacher training. I won’t be able to stay there for an entire month.

April 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t dislike it, but it was a bit unexpected – I wasn’t part of a retreat group, I was actually joining classes with others who were doing their yoga teacher training and had been there for a week already. But I didn’t mind at all, just something to keep in mind!
As soon as I walked in, they greeted me with exceptional hospitality. Everyone was so friendly and made sure all my needs were met. The food, classes, and people were all amazing, they went above and beyond to ensure I had an awesome experience.
