December 24, 2023 at 12:00 amI didn’t expect much because their Instagram didn’t provide much information, but the experience turned out to be truly amazing. Our group consisted of just 8 people, and we formed a close bond as time passed. I felt really comfortable around the teachers, staff, and everyone else in the group. The food was also fantastic, mainly Indonesian cuisine like rice with different versions of tofu or tempeh and vegetables. Besides the physical aspect, which I loved, the spiritual aspect (which was new to me) was incredible too. Learning Hatha from Via was an incredible experience. She taught us how to stay calm and deliver just the right amount of information without overwhelming people. It was a huge help for me! But all the other teachers were also wonderful and eager to share their knowledge of yoga. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an authentic place with people who genuinely live for yoga.

November 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI absolutely didn’t like how Aeral Yoga was taught, it was lacking in every aspect. After just 2 lessons, without even explaining how the class is structured, we were told to create a class. Out of 5 sessions, 3 were where we taught our classmates… I really didn’t learn much. I really liked Obi’s teaching method because you can tell he puts his heart and soul into it.

August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe place to practice Yoga and the props at that place were really unhygienic. We all had a horrible experience with Yin yoga, even though we attended the classes after paying for the course in nearby studios. The lead instructor mentioned in the certificate was not present. The food was satvik and okay.
Helpful ReviewAlexis Mcduffee
August 24, 2023 at 12:00 amThe yoga props they provided were of really low quality and not clean at all. The mats and blocks at this studio were honestly the dirtiest I’ve ever seen, so I brought my own mat to avoid using theirs.
Most teachers here don’t actually prepare you to become a yoga instructor. They just watch you do flows and rarely offer any help with alignment or feedback during or after class.
The accommodation was pretty mediocre. The sheets and towels were stained and dirty, and I didn’t have hot water in the shower. During my first 100 hours, the toilet was even broken! When they finally came to fix it, they also put a random board on the ceiling because of water damage from above. Luckily, I switched rooms for the second 100 hours and had a better bathroom situation. But you also have to ask for your room to be cleaned and sheets/towels changed.
Now, let me tell you about the amazing teachers I had the privilege of learning from! Azmi and Yansha were absolutely incredible. They were so passionate and brought such great energy every day. They really made sure we were ready to become yoga teachers and cared about teaching us the difference between just practicing and actually learning from this experience. I also really enjoyed Obi and Veny. Their classes were more focused on learning as a student rather than as a potential teacher.
The food was also really delicious, although if you’re doing the full 200 hours instead of just 100, there is a lot of repetition in the menu. It would be great if they could offer a higher protein option for breakfast, considering the amount of movement we do each day.
Overall, I actually enjoyed my time here because of the personal growth I experienced, the wonderful people I met, and the enthusiastic teachers who genuinely wanted to teach us.

May 20, 2023 at 12:00 amI was very disappointed with the hiring of a yoga instructor. During the exam, she sat in the corner and just played with her phone or looked bored. The food was great though, and the location was also very convenient.

April 26, 2023 at 12:00 amI had an amazing time at the Aayaa yoga teacher training in Bali. I absolutely loved practicing yoga and meditation outdoors amidst the beautiful green surroundings, with birds and lizards singing, especially in the morning. Afterward, we would indulge in delicious tropical fruits for breakfast. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable and fun to be around. They were passionate about helping us understand and deeply learn yoga and meditation. I really needed a break from the stress of everyday life and to learn how to meditate, so this experience was perfect for me. What made it even better was meeting new people who shared my interest in healthy lifestyles. And let’s not forget about the incredible food, nature, weather, sun, and massages – they were all absolutely amazing. I had an unforgettable time and learned even more than I expected. Thank you so much to all the teachers and the Aayaa crew for everything! I’ll definitely be back.

February 26, 2023 at 12:00 amThe room was pretty basic, but it got the job done. Sometimes, the meals could have used more protein. But let me tell you, the teachers were absolutely amazing! It was clear right from the start how experienced they all were. I did the 200-hour course and man, did I learn way more than I expected. My experience here was fantastic. I met some amazing people in my course, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was really tasty too, and although the room was basic, it served its purpose. I highly recommend this school for sure!

December 27, 2022 at 12:00 amThe meditation classes felt a bit strange to me. The teacher kept talking about how his guru turned someone into a stone and made a plane wait for his friend. He even claimed he can control the rain and bring pets back to life through meditation. Personally, I found these comments to be out of place for a meditation class. It made it hard for me to stay engaged because the teacher kept bringing them up and trying to convince us. On the bright side, the overall environment was great. The location and the yoga room were both nice, and I felt comfortable in my bedroom. Most of the other yoga teachers, like asthanga, vinyasa, hatha, yin, and aerial yoga were really excellent. I also enjoyed the pranayama classes.

December 3, 2022 at 12:00 amThe hotel staff was very nice, but I found it difficult to keep my space clean. They didn’t provide any toiletries, not even hand soap in the bathroom, and they only gave us one towel, which was tough for me personally. But please don’t let this discourage you. The course is definitely worth the value! I loved this course so much! It was challenging at times physically, but it was the perfect amount of challenge. The staff is all so wonderful and fantastic! The course was incredibly detailed, and I learned much more than I expected. The food was amazing! I truly experienced a transformation and am super excited to continue my yoga journey.

August 5, 2022 at 12:00 amI couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The teachers are incredible, sharing their knowledge and passion with so much enthusiasm. Via is like a flower, teaching me to breathe in a way that I’ll never forget. Shanti is amazing, delivering profound wisdom in our Philosophy class and beyond. I’m grateful for every meditation class with Hari, who truly practices what he preaches. Jaggy’s teachings on Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy, all the way from India, were invaluable. And Ida’s beautiful singing during the Sun salutation was a precious experience.
The place we stayed in was perfect. Surrounded by ricefields and natural paths, the environment allowed us to breathe properly while taking in the breathtaking colors. The food was not only delicious but also healthy, always served with the warmest smile. This experience exceeded my expectations, filling my mind with so much more than I anticipated. What I appreciated the most is that they follow the traditional basis of yoga. Nowadays, it’s rare to find a non-Westernized experience of this Oriental art of living in Bali. Your body will thank you for it.

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amOur teachers Via, Shanti, Ida, and Igor were very warm and open-minded people. They guided us very well and pushed us to our limits. The training woke me up and made me rethink a lot of things. Now my own practice looks much more mindful. It’s no longer about being faster, higher, and further, but about what is good for me and how can I incorporate this mindset into my teaching.
Thank you to these wonderful people!

March 29, 2020 at 12:00 amThe complex could improve its standards of cleanliness, although the dining and teaching/practice areas and our rooms were relatively clean. I want to express my gratitude to the teachers – Via, Igor, Shanti, and Ida – who shared their knowledge and skills with patience, love, and an open heart. We had access to the best resources for learning, and it was up to us, the students, to make the most of them. I appreciate how well-balanced the course is, covering both the spiritual aspects of yoga and asana practice. Inspired by the teachers, I truly realized the infinite possibilities that yoga offers as a science that we practice. The food was delicious! I also want to thank the staff, especially Hari, who was always there to help whenever needed.

March 22, 2020 at 12:00 amI noticed the warning signs right when we got there. They sent me on a scooter to a jewelry store to get cash for my course. The opening ceremony only lasted 15 minutes and our instructors weren’t even there. Instead, we spent most of the time filling out forms.
I only attended day one and the classes were a mess. None of the teachers matched the ones on their website and they didn’t even show us their qualifications. The yin yoga teacher clearly didn’t know much or have any interest in it. Our philosophy and anatomy classes were just continuations from a previous course, so we were essentially joining in the middle. On top of that, the classes weren’t taught well.
I immediately contacted Aayaa yoga after day one and I’ve even sent a second email outlining all my issues. I was really hoping they weren’t aware of how poorly their Rishikesh school was being run. But unfortunately, I still haven’t heard back from them.
If you’re serious about learning yin yoga, please avoid this school. The food was decent and the building manager was nice and apologetic about everything that happened.

February 10, 2020 at 12:00 amI really liked it, but personally, as a non-vegetarian, I felt like there was too much rice, veggies, tofu, and tempeh. It tasted great, but it made my stomach feel bloated, so I decided to switch to only having soups. They were absolutely delicious though!
The breakfast was amazing – fresh fruit, pancakes, and fried bananas – the best meal of the day! I wish I could have stayed there longer, or maybe even move there! ?
In my opinion, being taught by people from real eastern culture is a completely different experience. It’s hard to put into words, but it really opens your heart and helps you put your ego aside. It’s the best thing that could happen to anyone from the western world!
The teachers are all unique in their own way, and the energy when they’re all together is so loving and beautiful. They’ll make you laugh so hard, but they also take their job very seriously and will teach you, heal you, and share their knowledge. They truly care about you and are happy to help.
The multistyle yoga was perfect for me because I was able to find the style that suited me the most and that I enjoyed teaching the most.
For me, Bali is the most beautiful country with the most beautiful people.
There’s even a swimming pool, and the rooms are spacious with a stunning view where you can watch the sunset. There are also restaurants, bars, shops, and spas within walking distance, and it’s close to the Monkey Forest.

January 31, 2020 at 12:00 amI signed up for a one-week aerial yoga course at Aayaa Yoga, but ended up staying for a whole month! The moment I walked into the school, I felt right at home and the manager, Pabi, was incredibly warm and helpful. She made sure I settled in quickly and made sure I was comfortable with everything. We had a welcome ceremony in the evening where all the students gathered and we hit it off instantly. The next day, our amazing teacher, Konty, started the aerial yoga classes and I fell in love with it right away. I knew I wanted to spend more time at the school, so I decided to complete the 200-hour ttc. Once again, Pabi and the management team went above and beyond to accommodate my last-minute request.
The other classes, like Vinyasa and Yin, taught by Konty, were also fantastic. They were designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced students. I found the Philosophy class taught by Vishu to be truly eye-opening. He is an excellent teacher. Dwayne’s Anatomy class was detailed and insightful as well. He’s a wonderful teacher too!
I’m incredibly grateful for this whole experience, the people I met, the amazing skills I learned, and most importantly, the family we formed together. Thank you so much for everything!

January 30, 2020 at 12:00 amIf you want a relaxing and chill retreat, this place is probably not right for you. You’ll be doing everything alongside TTC students, so you’ll learn about yoga instead of just attending classes.
We had to switch accommodations to a different place and unfortunately, it was worse than the first one. However, Aayaa went above and beyond to make up for the inconveniences. They provided extra blankets, heaters, and even called electricians to fix the hot water issue. Whenever we had a problem, they were there to help solve it.
Classes always start late, which is great if you struggle to wake up in the mornings, but can be annoying if you’re a stickler for punctuality.
If you’re considering applying, make sure to ask for all the details beforehand through messages. The information on bookyogaretreats can be a bit misleading about what they actually offer and what’s included.
The location itself is a bit far from Laxman Jhula and the city vibe, but it’s still within walking distance, so it’s not a major issue. Considering the amount of money you spend, don’t expect luxury service or top-notch quality. But for what it’s worth, it’s an okay experience.
I personally found it beneficial to be with the TTC students as it gave me insight into what it’s like to undergo the training.
We also got a complimentary rafting experience, which was really fun and enjoyable.
The Ashtanga class teacher is absolutely amazing!
You have the opportunity to join in on all the classes that the students are taking, which is a great way to learn more about yoga, postures, philosophy, and so on.
Lastly, the food was delicious and enjoyable.

December 29, 2019 at 12:00 amEveryone tried their best to accommodate us but sometimes they couldn’t meet our dietary restrictions. I understand it’s not easy to accommodate, but I appreciate their efforts ?? This retreat exceeded our expectations. Our teachers Manish and Kounty were amazing. They are highly skilled, experienced, knowledgeable, flexible, and have a great sense of humor. Manish guided us through the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga and patiently answered all our questions. Kounty impressed us with his teaching style, physical agility, and ability to incorporate dance, gymnastics, and fitness into yoga. He did it all with a smile, great spirit, and humor, while maintaining the seriousness of a yogi. The teachers adapted their training to a diverse class and our family’s varying ages and abilities. We are lost for words to express our gratefulness and will forever be thankful to them.
The operational manager, Pabitra, and business owner, Manish, took care of us and fulfilled our requests. Our two chefs cooked delicious and wholesome meals and served them with a calm and relaxed demeanor. Our accommodation was a charming house with the owner living nearby and located a short distance from the beach, with many nice restaurants and shops around. The house owners were responsive and made sure we felt comfortable and cared for.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are grateful for everyone who contributed to our short yoga journey. A heartfelt namaste from our family to all of you!

November 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI think the marketing for this place is a complete lie. It makes me feel bad to write all of this because the teachers were nice, but I think the Marketing/Indian owner is being manipulative and dishonest. The teachers were not what they were advertised to be.
The accommodation was terrible. It was dirty, with mold on the pillow, and the first towel smelled like a wet dog. The shower pressure would often stop working if multiple people were showering at the same time. The drains in the shower and sink were almost completely blocked. When we brought up the issue, they just unscrewed the pipes and put a bucket under the sink. They never cleaned the pool, so it was yellow when we left.
The food was okay at times, but definitely not as Ayurvedic as they claimed. It seemed like they were on a low budget. They served sugary food for breakfast and Tofu/Tempeh twice a day, which made all of us bloated and gave us stomach pain.
The yoga philosophy was difficult to follow. You would learn more from a book or video. They advertised 200 hours, but it was actually only around 150 hours. Half of the yoga classes were the same as any normal class, and they never adjusted our poses. We had to ask repeatedly for an ayurveda class, and when we finally got one, it was just a video.
The ceremony was a letdown. There was no flower or fruit composition. All the information on their website about the facilities was basically a lie.
I am grateful that the course was in Ubud, a powerful and spiritual place. The teachers were nice and knowledgeable, so thank you to them. I had fun and enjoyed my time here, but I wouldn’t say that all of us are ready to be teachers. I think this course is better for your own spiritual journey rather than becoming a yoga teacher.

They should allocate more time for adjustments and teaching practices.
As for the accommodation itself, the view is beautiful. However, the swimming pool is tiny and the toilet smells bad. The rooms are old and the bed linens are dirty. On the bright side, the staff is friendly and the teachers are amazing and inspiring. The philosophy, meditation, and asana classes are really good. The food also tastes great. September 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI had the best experience at aayaa yoga school. It was my first time doing a yoga teacher training and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to deepen my practice and learn more about yoga and everything related to it. They taught four different styles, which allowed me to experience different approaches in yoga and adjust my classes accordingly.
The accommodation was great, with incredibly friendly staff and they even catered to my gluten-free eating preference. The best part was that the accommodation was close to Ubud, but still surrounded by beautiful rice fields, giving me the feeling of being close to nature.
The teachers at aayaa yoga school were absolutely amazing. They shared their experiences and wisdom with such enthusiasm and passion. I couldn’t have asked for better guidance on my yoga journey. I highly recommend this school for anyone looking to start their yoga journey.
Take care,

September 6, 2019 at 12:00 amThe wifi consistently had problems and wasn’t working… it was quite frustrating at times because I had to go to the cafe down the road if I wanted to study, or even download a movie for when I wanted some downtime in my room and if I wanted to call my family back home. But that’s something they can fix, so it doesn’t matter in the long run 🙂 I had so many expectations about the retreat, but it totally exceeded them!! I learned the true meaning of yoga and that it’s not just about poses/asanas (although I definitely worked hard on those!). The philosophy and meditation classes were my favorite because they gave me life-changing knowledge and a new perspective on life that I’ll carry with me forever. I feel so much more calm in my mind and soul… and I definitely saw a massive difference in my body too after those three weeks! As a beginner, I thought the course was pretty intense, but you get what you pay for, and I’m proud to say that I’m now confident in my own self-practice and ready to share my learning with others as a certified yoga teacher :). And for that, I’m truly grateful to all the teachers there who helped me along the way. They were all very patient, happy, incredibly knowledgeable, and caring!! They even organized a day trip to the waterfalls, which was really cool of them. And I can’t forget to mention the food because it was so delicious!!! I couldn’t wait for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day – I couldn’t get enough of it :D. I wholeheartedly recommend coming here because you get way more than you bargained for in terms of value for money. Thanks to everyone at Aayaa yoga!!

September 5, 2019 at 12:00 amWhat a wonderful place! I felt completely comfortable from the first second. The teachers are truly excellent and they really paid attention to each individual, which was truly admirable! This stay will stay in my memory forever and it has actually helped me personally a lot. A truly special experience. Thank you very much!

August 26, 2019 at 12:00 amIn my opinion, the facilities should have been a lot cleaner. This goes for my room and bathroom, as well as the yoga mats. The variety of food could have been much better; it consisted solely of white rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Despite informing the hostel about my late-night arrival, they did not prepare the room, leaving me without essential items like toilet paper, towels, and soap. It was quite a disappointing experience after traveling for over 24 hours to get there. However, I must say that the program offered good value for money. The teachers were competent, and the food, location, and accommodation somewhat met my expectations.

August 3, 2019 at 12:00 amI had only a few days in Ubud and was eager to do some yoga. I found out there were yoga classes nearby, but I wanted something more immersive, like a retreat. Luckily, Manish was extremely responsive and accommodating. He helped me join a yoga teacher training course where I got to attend asana classes, learn about yoga philosophy, and teachings. The teachers were amazing and highly knowledgeable. Plus, everyone was super friendly, and I had a great time relaxing and chatting with them off the mat. The teacher training course is still relatively new, which I loved because it created an intimate atmosphere with a small group. Overall, it was an incredible experience.

August 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI had an absolutely amazing experience at this training! The accommodation and my room were incredible, and the location in Ubud was perfect. The yoga hall wasn’t a closed room, so it felt like being in nature all the time. It quickly started to feel like home, not just because of the place, but also because of the awesome people I met. We had so much fun together and had many deep conversations. All the teachers were fantastic – they were genuine, supportive, and always ready to help whenever you needed it. During the yoga practice, we learned so much from the experienced teachers and had a great time. They were always sympathetic and explained things twice if needed. What I loved most about this training was how it connected the physical practice with mental knowledge. It’s really important in understanding your body and yoga as a science, especially if you plan to teach. We also got to try out different yoga styles, which was really cool. The teaching style was professional but relaxed, so you always felt comfortable. We all became friends and the vibes were always positive. I enjoyed every moment of it. I can’t recommend this YTT enough! I’m so glad I chose this school because it allowed me to meet amazing people and learn so much about myself. And a huge thank you to Via, Shani, and Jagjeet for being absolutely amazing, as well as my classmates. I already miss you all! Sending lots of love <3

July 17, 2019 at 12:00 amDuring my training, we didn’t have any luck as there were construction works right in front of the hotel. So the noise was sometimes unpleasant, but it won’t be the case for the next trainings.
There was a lack of desserts for the meals. The training being multi-style is a great thing because it allows us to discover yoga styles that we may have never practiced before. It makes the training more diverse.
The location in UBUD is quiet but close to the center, which is ideal for relaxing with a massage, having an ice cream, or going to the market.
The food is really good and the staff is very kind.

June 22, 2019 at 12:00 amI had an awesome week where I was able to not only relax but also learn a ton! What I especially loved was being able to join the sessions of the participants in the teacher training!

June 21, 2019 at 12:00 amI only have one suggestion: let’s add more variety to the food so that my sensitive stomach can handle it better 😉 I just completed the 50-hour Aerial YTT and it was excellent. The course was well-organized and covered all the important aspects of practicing and teaching aerial yoga safely, so accidents and injuries can be avoided.
The instructor for aerial was highly experienced and structured the course really well. He even gave each student the opportunity to teach a full one-hour class. We had access to the aerial classroom 24/7, so we could practice during our breaks and prepare for our own classes.
Manish, who organized the training, was incredibly professional and responsive right from the start. He made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised when I received forms asking for my medical history, including any injuries or allergies, as well as my food preferences.
When I arrived at the retreat, I was greeted with such warmth! Parvitra does an amazing job of creating a family-like environment for every student. She went above and beyond to organize extra activities for those of us who wanted massages, water rafting in the Ganga, or even sessions with a tattoo artist! I noticed that Manish and Parvitra would do their best to accommodate any student requests, whether it was adjusting the schedule or organizing additional classes.
The place itself was clean, air-conditioned, and had reliable WiFi. It provided great value for the money.

June 8, 2019 at 12:00 amI joined a group for a teacher training retreat, where we had yoga in the morning and evening, along with other activities. However, there was a lot of free time during the middle of the day due to the scorching temperatures. The yoga sessions were informative and functional, but there was a lack of spiritual guidance, making it feel more like a hotel holiday with some yoga added in. The yoga studios didn’t create a spiritual ambience, with no music, scent, or dim lighting. You could actually join the retreat on any day. Luckily, the rooms were comfortable and had air conditioning. Pabrita, who was always available, made sure to provide information and advice to make our experience better. The massage was incredibly relaxing and the rafting was a fun experience. The food was good overall, but it was disappointing that if even one person in the group didn’t like spice, we all had to eat relatively bland food, which is not the norm in India. On one evening, we all went to a wonderful fire ceremony together. Considering everything, the retreat was definitely worth its price.

June 6, 2019 at 12:00 amI had an amazing experience at Aayaa school during my YTTC. The teachers were all knowledgeable and engaged, which made it great for learning about yoga theory, asanas, and philosophy. The schedule and organization were well-maintained, and Manish and Popi took care of us from the beginning to make sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. And let’s not forget the delicious food! Thank you for everything.

May 27, 2019 at 12:00 amThe trainings are still new, but they addressed anything I found unsatisfactory as soon as I brought it to their attention. I really enjoyed this training. The location of the retreat was good. The teachers were knowledgeable and experienced, and they had a lot to offer. I learned so much from the alignment teacher; he was great. All the things he taught will be useful for my future as a yoga teacher. The Ashtanga teacher was harsh but knowledgeable. He did great adjustments and helped me go deeper into the asanas. The Philosophy teacher was nice and knowledgeable. Even if we had any problems (which he didn’t need to help with), he took the time to solve them and communicate with us. The food was amazing. They fed us so well! I can’t forget the delicious mushrooms and spinach soybean milk cream sauce!!? The staff was nice, they remembered my favorite drink and prepared it for me after meals! ?? Our Manager Pabitra was simply amazing! I can’t express how much she impressed me. Managing food for people from different parts of the world with different tastes and appetites every day was very challenging. She even spent her holiday helping us and organizing activities for us! Special thanks to her for holding my hand during the hike ?? I thought I would fall without her help ??

May 11, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t love the way things were organized. It was slightly unclear, like the instructors were surprised to see me when I showed up on my scheduled date with the others doing their teacher training, and I was on a separate schedule.
Finding the facility was kind of hard as the name aayaayoga isn’t actually listed on maps. Making payment was also difficult because they didn’t accept cards at the location. Other than that, everything was fine!
But I have to say, the people at this retreat were really accommodating. From the amazing manager Pabi to the kitchen workers, everyone was great. The facilities were also really good, and the food was delicious! They even fulfilled my extra tea and special pancake requests 🙂
The yoga instructors were very informative. The morning hatha class was a great way to wake up, and the meditation sessions at the end of the day were really relaxing. The ashtanga class was challenging in a good way, and Neeraj was really helpful in improving my form and getting me deeper into poses.
I also had a blast rafting, and the massage I got there was the best I’ve had in the past 6 months in Asia!

April 23, 2019 at 12:00 amThe “retreat” takes place in a regular hotel where non Yoga guests also stay, so they don’t really consider our need for rest. Unfortunately, the common area is just a living room, which means there are no outside spaces to relax. Honestly, this isn’t the ideal spot for a yoga retreat or teacher training. Staying here for an entire month would be really challenging for me.

April 2, 2019 at 12:00 amI didn’t dislike it, but it was a bit surprising. You see, I wasn’t part of a retreat group. Instead, I joined in on classes with others who were already there for their yoga teacher training. They had been there for a week. But don’t worry, I didn’t mind at all, just thought I’d mention it!
When I walked in the door, they showed me incredible hospitality right away. Everyone was so friendly and eager to take care of my every need. The food, the classes, and the people were all amazing. They went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was absolutely awesome.
