  • I had an amazing experience with yoga recently. I've been practicing it on and off for years, but this time I discovered a whole new level of meaning in it. During the sessions, we would do different poses and feel the energy and vibrations in our bodies. The instructors, who are knowledgeable about working with this energy, made the experience even better. Afterward, we were guided into a deep relaxation and then into sitting meditation. It was during this meditation that I felt a deeper sense of stillness and tranquility. Even though most of the participants were younger than me, I, at 70 years old, felt both inspired and inspiring. This immersion in yoga is open to everyone, and I'm deeply grateful for the support and lifelong connection I've found with AMRITA. If I have the chance, I'll definitely join level 2 in the future. Otherwise, I feel confident continuing my practice wherever I am in the world.

  • I fell in love with everything at the Zazen retreat. I've been practicing a different style of meditation for over ten years, but my experience with Zazen was absolutely divine. It's not about achieving something, but rather learning to appreciate the art of simply being and sitting still. I did have moments where my mind was filled with thoughts, but they felt distant and quickly disappeared on their own. Since coming back home from the retreat, I've become a much calmer person and gained a lot of clarity. I definitely plan on doing this retreat every year while continuing the practice in my daily life.

The retreat was located in a beautiful environment that nurtured the cycle of life with its organic farming, animals, insects, weather, and people. It was truly inspiring.

I can't express how grateful I am for the fresh vegetables and salads that were served straight from the farm. It doesn't get any fresher than that. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the weather was perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and always did their best to make our experience unforgettable. They even went out of their way to accommodate my allergy diet, which was very thoughtful.

Hamid, the Zazen Master, has such a warm personality and is full of wisdom and knowledge. I loved listening to him share his philosophy and poems. His dedication to the Zazen tradition and practice was evident in his presence during the silence. He truly inspired me. I even bought some books to further support my Zazen practice. I can't wait for the next Zazen Retreat, but for now, I'll continue to sit still and appreciate the beauty of being.

As Rumi said, "Let silence be the art you practice, let silence speak to you about the secrets of the universe."

  • The activities of clustering were a bit disappointing. Sometimes we only did things for half an hour or drove a short distance in the car. When we visited the village, it was basically just driving through and pointing out some houses. We only stopped for the view and there wasn't much else. If you asked about the cultural aspects, way of life, or things to see in the village, you didn't really get an answer. Most people also didn't speak English well. I had expected more from this. The yoga was really great though, the teachers were very nice. The women who took care of the food and massages were extremely friendly and helpful. The massages every day were delightful and the food was also very tasty.

  • I adore everything. I've been practicing a different style of Meditation for over ten years. My experience with Zazen was absolutely amazing. It's not about proving or justifying an accomplishment, but rather about learning to appreciate the art of Being and sitting quietly. There were moments when my mind was racing, but they felt distant and quickly faded away. Since returning home from the retreat, I've become a much calmer person and gained a lot of clarity. I plan on doing this retreat annually while incorporating the practice into my daily life.

The retreat is situated in a nurturing environment that reminds us of the cycle of life, with organic farming, animals, insects, weather, and people all around.

I really loved the fresh vegetables and salads, straight from the farm to the table. You can't get any fresher than that. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the weather was cool, and the staff was incredibly friendly and always went above and beyond. It was truly an unforgettable experience. They even made special meals for me to accommodate my allergies, which was incredibly considerate.

Hamid, the Zazen Master, has a warm personality and is filled with wisdom and knowledge. I loved hearing his thoughts on philosophy and reading his poems. His presence during the silent moments showed his dedication to the Zazen tradition and practice, which was very inspiring. I bought some books to support my Zazen practice and I'm eagerly looking forward to next year's retreat. But for now, I'll continue to sit still and appreciate this moment.

My stay at La Casa Shambala for three weeks was truly life-changing. The staff, instructors, and volunteers display a genuine concern for students, providing unwavering support during the rigorous yoga teacher training. The vegan meals served were not only tasty, but the banana pancakes for breakfast were a personal favorite. The accommodations, while simple, were cozy and well-maintained, with refreshing outdoor showers to beat the heat. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse La Casa Shambala for anyone contemplating a 200-hour yoga teacher training course.
