  • There was so much to experience at this retreat - from lovely massages and other treatments to meeting a wonderful mix of kind and good people. It was truly blissful.

  • There was nothing to experience but bliss at this retreat. We enjoyed lovely massages and other treatments, met great vegetarian dishes, and connected with a kind group of people.

  • Elodie was an amazing teacher and the course content was perfect. I had a great experience learning from her. However, the retreat centre, Las Casa Shambala, is still working out some kinks as we were the first group to use the property. I recommend bringing your own bedding and checking on plumbing and privacy issues before booking. The food is basic and breakfast is minimal. The accommodation is not luxurious. Despite some issues, I am grateful for the experience and feel healthier and wiser. Thank you, Elodie, for your care and intention in teaching us. You have touched my life in a profound way and I am forever grateful.

  • Overall, I found the accommodation to be extremely disappointing. The lack of cleanliness in both the room and the restaurant was the main issue. In the room, the walls and curtains were disgustingly dirty, and the towels were so old that they had turned grey. Furthermore, the cups and glasses were not cleaned daily and there were instances where we returned to find the shower covered in Jif and the mirror smeared, making it difficult to see anything.

The restaurant didn't fare any better. The plates for breakfast were unclean and there were ants crawling all over everything. We brought up these issues with Ayu, who was very helpful. I believe that this place has the potential to be a perfect 10/10 with some simple improvements. It definitely needs to modernize in order to compete with other retreats or hotels.

Additionally, I found some of the yoga classes to be quite slow-paced. If you enjoy that style, then it's great, but if not, then this retreat may not be the right fit for you. On the positive side, the gardens and setting were beautiful and the yoga studio was lovely. The dolphin tour was also enjoyable, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

The location in the little village was good, with a few other restaurants, cafes, and bars just a short 2-minute walk away. There was also a small shop owned by Julie, whose husband is a driver, so we had a few pleasant conversations with them.
