The classes were all full, which was not enjoyable. The crowded conditions meant you were constantly bumping into the people around you. Feeling overwhelmed, I decided to skip some classes and take time for myself to relax and have a more positive experience. Some of the teachers were not great, like Nadja. She gave off a negative vibe, never said hi, and got defensive when asked questions. She kept talking about another retreat that she said was better and encouraged everyone to go there instead. It was weird because we were all there for the same reason. Plus, she spent a lot of time outside smoking, which didn't make a good impression on me. Despite the issues, I did like the location and the food. The facility was nice overall, except for the constant smell of manure that made it hard to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
The intense learning program mixed well with the yoga classes and theoretical lessons. The teachers, who were very experienced, had a personal approach. The food was fantastic and plentiful. In just 18 days, I experienced a beautiful transformation both physically and mentally.
The classes were full and it wasn't great. You end up touching the people next to you in every position because it's too crowded. I decided to skip some classes and spend more time alone to relax and have a better experience. Some of the teachers were not great. There was this one teacher named Nadja who had a bad vibe, didn't say hi, and would get defensive when asked questions. She kept talking about another retreat that she thought was better and recommended everyone go there. It was strange because we were all there for the same reason and had paid to be at this retreat. Plus, she would sit outside smoking cigarettes a lot which didn't make a good impression on me. However, I really liked the location and the food. The facility was great, but there was a strong smell of feces everywhere, making it difficult to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
I found the best option in Canggu! The staff are amazing - so friendly and hard working. They clean the accommodations daily, make the beds, and provide fresh towels even in the dorms. There's a great selection of yoga classes with gifted instructors. The community vibe is real with the pool and lounge chairs. I spent 12 nights there and barely left except to go to the beach, just a few minutes walk away. I would definitely come back.
