I want to fully immerse myself in the yoga teacher training journey by challenging myself and being surrounded by a group of wonderful people.
Helpful ReviewThe seminar blew me away! It was such a unique experience that I will never forget. I had the opportunity to meet so many positive people in a beautiful location and the food was absolutely amazing. The teachers were the absolute best, especially Himanshu Bahuguna. He has an incredible passion for yoga and teaching that you can feel every second of the training. It was truly a gift to be able to train with him in Europe.
Faye Balomenou was also fantastic! She supported us throughout the training and motivated us to bring out the best in ourselves. Her knowledge of yoga philosophy was impressive and I had the most incredible Yoga Nidra experience during the Palairos seminar with her.
I highly recommend this seminar without a doubt. Don’t hesitate to book it! I’m already eagerly looking forward to the 300-hour training.
Namaste!
Helpful Review– The overall training (the theoretical content, the practical exercises, the workshops, etc.) was great.
– The yoga sessions were amazing, with the teachers providing clear explanations, adjustments, and a dynamic and energetic atmosphere.
– A big thank you to the hosts (an incredible team who took great care of us), they were fantastic!
– The enriching encounters with participants from all around the world were wonderful.
– The organization ensured that the stay went smoothly 🙂
I didn’t like how they taught The Anatomy module, it was all over the place and they didn’t discuss enough about how it relates to different yoga poses. Also, it would be great if they could schedule the exam right after the lecture, that way we can use that knowledge in our training. But I have to give credit to Himanshu for his excellent teaching in Pranayama, Flow, and alignment.
Helpful ReviewFrom day 1, Himanshu and Faye made this journey unforgettable. They took care of both the practical aspects and the theory, providing extra support whenever needed.
Spiros, with his absolute passion for anatomy, made learning easy and enjoyable. And he continued to support us even after the training.
Our three teachers together created a truly wholesome training experience. If you ever feel unprepared or worried about the future, let me assure you that they will dissolve all those concerns.
The sense of family we build here is incredible. Everyone is pursuing the same goals and wants everyone else to thrive. By the end of the training, you’ll be thrilled to have shared this journey with such amazing people.
Lastly, the staff here is amazing. They’re kind, generous, hardworking, and always make sure we’re comfortable during our stay.
In conclusion, if you’re interested in yoga, this is an experience you won’t regret.
Helpful ReviewThe place, the teachers, the classes, everything was really amazing.
Helpful ReviewThis training exceeded my expectations in so many ways! Our teachers, Faye, Ippoliti, and Spyros, are incredibly passionate about what they do. They have a fantastic ability to teach yoga in a straightforward, detailed, and even fun way. Throughout my stay at Kosta Maria, both the teachers and hotel staff were always there to help me with any concerns or questions I had. The three weeks of training were intense, but I can assure you, you won’t regret making this choice if you want to learn and deepen your yoga practice. You’ll learn so many new things and discover just how far you can push yourself. Plus, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet people from all over the world and take your practice to the next level together!
Helpful ReviewI suggest that the groups should have different age options. Personally, I would have preferred a group with people aged 30 and above. This training introduced me to yoga in all its beautiful ways and it was incredible. The location was wisely chosen, as it was a small family-owned hotel where we felt at home in every way. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us like family, always showing us love and being extremely helpful. When I needed groceries, one of the staff members, Stella, took me to a nearby market.
The training was intense both physically and spiritually, and there were times when we all broke down emotionally. However, our amazing instructors supported us and helped us grow every day. Faye and Ippo, our instructors with their own unique Yin & Yang approaches, were perfect. Faye’s alignment classes and Ippo’s pranayama classes were truly exceptional. Even though we had less time with him, our anatomy instructor Sypros was also a remarkable person. His passion for anatomy was evident and he motivated us in many ways.
Overall, this experience was amazing for me personally. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves yoga, is dedicated, and has the time for it. ???
Helpful ReviewI completed my 200h vinyasa teacher training with YogaUnion in June 2023 in Ubud, Bali, and let me tell you, it was absolutely life-changing! The experience exceeded all expectations. The group of teachers I had the privilege of learning from were truly amazing. They taught me everything I had hoped to learn about yoga.
But it wasn’t just about the yoga itself. Throughout the training, I made incredible connections with peers from all corners of the globe. It was an opportunity for self-reflection and growth like I had never imagined.
I have to give a special shout out to my lead teacher, Himanshu. Let me tell you, he is hands down the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. His knowledge of yoga is absolutely incredible, covering everything from asanas to pranayama and philosophies. And his experience in working with students of all levels and backgrounds from around the world is unbeatable.
But it’s not just me who feels this way. I know for a fact that many of my fellow trainees absolutely adore Himanshu. He is the heart and soul of this training program. We need more teachers like him in the world – passionate, dedicated, and always ready to support their students in every way possible.
Helpful ReviewThe 200 hour Vinyasa YTT in Paleros went above and beyond my expectations. Faye Balomenou, our instructor, has a passion for yoga that is contagious. She shares her extensive knowledge eagerly, and she’s always willing to answer any questions you may have. Her alignment classes are thorough and precise, showcasing her experience and confidence in teaching and adjusting. The practices are intense and motivating, pushing you to challenge yourself.
Eleni Chantzara is an excellent complement to Faye. Her teachings in Pranayama and various workshops are insightful and valuable. She leads beautiful flows and brings a gentle energy to the training.
Spyros Kapitsinos’ anatomy classes are engaging and unique. Even after long and exhausting practices, he manages to keep you interested. His knowledge is impressive, and he strives to empower his students by teaching them about their own anatomy, enhancing their yoga practice and teaching.
The hotel is situated in a stunning location, just a short walk from Paleros town. It has its own private beach, accessed by a few staircases. If you prefer not to walk, there is also a pool. Everywhere you look, there are breathtaking views of the sea and majestic mountains. The upper and lower Shalas, combined with the beautiful surroundings, create the perfect atmosphere for practice.
The hotel staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The food offered is fresh, varied, and delicious. It mostly consists of healthy and vegetarian twists on traditional Greek dishes, although some may find it a bit heavy. Overall, I highly recommend this experience!
Helpful ReviewThe food tasted amazing! I do have a few suggestions though: it would be great to have more variety in the cereal and fruit options for breakfast. As for the porridge, I personally think it could be a bit thicker, less like soup. Also, instead of having stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes for the third time, it would be nice to try a different dish.
I have to say, this yoga teacher training completely surpassed my expectations. The teachers we had were absolutely incredible. They shared their knowledge with such dedication and passion that you can really feel the essence of yoga in your body, mind, and soul. It’s truly a wonderful feeling. I came back home feeling completely myself, and even more inspired to continue my own practice and teach others. I didn’t expect to feel this way after just three weeks.
Of course, there were ups and downs along the way. We were pushed to our limits both physically and mentally, but it was all worth it. We needed to be tested to realize how much we are truly capable of, and in the end, we all blossomed. Fay is like a diamond with so many dimensions to her personality and teaching style. She was critical when necessary, making sure we truly understood what we were doing, but also made us laugh like crazy. Eleni is such a precious soul. Her way of presenting breathing and meditation techniques is so desirable and easy to understand. And her yoga flows were challenging yet so satisfying. Spyros made anatomy class interesting and logical, with lots of humor. Surprisingly, I was able to remember all the important topics for the exam.
The KostaMaria Family and staff are absolutely wonderful. The food is delicious and the rooms are super clean. And let’s not forget about the beautiful crystal clear water just 106 steps away, with an amazing view. You definitely need to take a dip!
Helpful ReviewSince our meals were vegetarian, we ate a lot of tempeh. After a week, the meals became a bit repetitive. The atmosphere during the practical and theoretical classes. The wonderful encounters. The beautiful neighborhood.
Helpful ReviewYou should definitely bring your own yoga mat or a travel version to put over the existing yoga mats. The yoga training I attended was held in the Earth shala of YogaUnion, located in the beautiful rice fields of Ubud. The best part was that my accommodation was just a stone’s throw away from the shala (a mere 2 meters). While there wasn’t a pool on-site, we were allowed to use the pools at other places where some of the other participants stayed.
The restaurant where we had all our meals was just a quick 3-minute walk from our location. There are also some great spas and cafes in the area, so there was always something different to try each day. While not every meal may have been to everyone’s taste, there was always something delicious in the buffet.
My main teacher, Gourav, has an incredible amount of knowledge about yoga, pranayama, and proper alignment of the poses. He does an excellent job preparing you for becoming a yoga teacher. I also want to give a special shout out to Menik, our anatomy teacher. She was absolutely amazing and could answer any question we had. She did a great job connecting the anatomy information to the yoga poses.
Laila, our philosophy teacher, has a really unique energy and her soothing voice is so calming. She’s also the one who offers the 50-hour yin yoga teacher training.
During the training, we had a mix of different yoga classes, such as yin, restorative, acro, ashtanga, and nidra, but our focus was mainly on vinyasa. The classes were more on an intermediate level, but with each day, we learned and grew stronger.
The group I was in had 19 wonderful participants, which made the training enjoyable and truly special. I highly recommend it!
Helpful ReviewThe atmosphere, the setting, the kindness, the encouragement to always try and give it your all! Himanshu’s super precise advice will remain invaluable, and thanks to everyone for your incredible energy.
Helpful ReviewThe food could have been a bit greasy for a yoga retreat, even though it was very good!
The anatomy classes could have been great if we had more time. Our Vinyasa teacher is extraordinary. Their classes are both demanding and filled with a special gentleness.
The yin, nidra, and restorative classes were also amazing! So much sweetness came out of them.
Thanks, YogaUnion, for taking me and 11 other gals on an incredible adventure! This place is absolutely fantastic for learning, growing, and challenging yourself.
Eleni, Ipo, and Spyros created a safe atmosphere where they pushed us to exceed our own limits. I especially loved how they provided constructive feedback (all in the spirit of improving and enhancing our practice).
Helpful ReviewI loved everything, except for the fact that the restaurant was sometimes too crowded and they always ran out of food. It was disappointing. But overall, I really appreciated how well everyone took care of us.
Himanshu is absolutely amazing with his knowledge. He managed to take care of and teach all thirty of us. It’s impressive!
Laila is such a loving and motivated person. She really inspired and uplifted me. Her love filled my soul.
Fabien was always there during the training, helping me correct my mistakes. I’m so grateful for his company and support. Sometimes, he would give me a look and say, “You can do it, Sherin.” It meant so much to me.
Luca is like a ray of sunshine in our group. He was always there for us, even when we had personal problems. He protected our emotions and his positive energy helped us never feel alone.
Helpful ReviewThe location, facilities, and organization were excellent.
Helpful ReviewThe food was decent, with breakfast being delicious, but the other meals were just okay. They weren’t bad at all, just not amazing 🙂 But everything else was absolutely incredible! The instruction, the course structure, the other students, the staff, the facility, the energy, the learning, the fun, the ceremonies. EVERYTHING was amazing. These three weeks completely changed my life.
Helpful ReviewGustis Garden water Shala was filled with moulds and my belongings, like clothes and shoes, were ruined. I feel like I paid too much for this accommodation. Luckily, I brought my own yoga mat because the ones here are stained and dirty, not to mention they stink! The Wi-Fi was extremely weak and slow.
But let me tell you, the training itself was absolutely amazing, unforgettable even. I found a second family here. Himanshu Bahuguna, my mentor and trainer, has been incredible. I am now a certified yoga teacher and the knowledge I gained from Himanshu will be valuable throughout my entire yoga journey. A friend of mine recommended YogaUnion for my YTT and I am thrilled to have spent these three weeks with such beautiful souls. Thank you guys for being so professional, kind, and open-minded. I have learned so much from all of you and this training has truly transformed my life. I will definitely be recommending YogaUnion’s training to all my friends who are interested in becoming yoga teachers. Whether it’s in Bali or Greece, you won’t regret it.
I am already looking forward to the 300-hour YTT next year with YogaUnion. And wherever Himanshu teaches, you can count on me following him. Thank you all and hopefully, see you very soon! ?????
Helpful ReviewUnfortunately, I had some uncomfortable experiences with the location. The videos and photos I had been seeing on the site for the past 5 years (rice fields) did not match the actual place. It turns out there are three different venues, and it wasn’t clear to us that we would be assigned a different one if the first choice was fully booked. It would be nice in the future if they could inform us about the venues so we can choose accordingly, such as opting for the rice fields instead of the down rabbit hole.
Additionally, I had a privacy issue with a neighbor, but thankfully Ourania, the owner of Yoga Union, was very considerate and assured us that steps would be taken to prevent such inconvenience in the future.
Aside from those issues, the place itself is nice, with new bedrooms, and the staff is very kind. The instructors, in particular, were fantastic. They had a high level of knowledge and a great attitude, always making sure we had all the information we needed and asking if we had any questions.
I would like to give a special thanks to Marina and Anna Viktoria for their amazing classes filled with kindness, love, and enthusiasm. You guys will always have a special place in my heart. And of course, a big thank you to Gourav and Laila, who are incredible and talented teachers. And let’s not forget Menik, my fabulous anatomy teacher, who made us fall in love with fascia and tendons, haha!
Helpful ReviewI didn’t dislike anything in particular and the support team was always quick to help whenever other students had an issue. Thank you! I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the life-changing experiences I had with YogaUnion.
Completing my 200hr and 300hr in vinyasa yoga was amazing, and the 50hr yin TTC was the perfect addition to my journey. The teacher’s knowledge and inspiring presence, along with their unique energy, made me feel supported and nurtured. Yoga has taught me so much about life, myself, and others, and the Yin TTC allowed me to go even deeper within myself, quiet my busy mind, and embrace my true self.
I’m already excited for the future trainings that YogaUnion will create and host. I can’t wait to continue growing alongside them. Thank you once again to YogaUnion, the incredible teachers, and the support team, for reminding us all of the true essence of life. Keep up the amazing work and spread more love and kindness in the world!
Helpful ReviewThe training might not benefit those with advanced yoga experience as instructors have to slow down their teaching. This could also be an issue with other YTT programs. Some sessions like Kriya & Cacao ceremony are not relevant to me. I prefer yoga workshops that directly impact my practice and teaching. I appreciate having knowledgeable and patient instructors, excellent accommodations, delicious meals, and the sweetest staff. The yoga workshops are excellent too. The location is convenient, close to Ubud center. The shala is intimate, clean, and well-maintained.
Helpful ReviewThe Teacher Training really exceeded my expectations. I have to admit, as a fairly new yogi, the tight and packed schedule was quite challenging at times, but it was amazing to see how I gradually grew in my yoga practice and on a personal level too.
Yoga is so much more than just physical exercise. The Philosophy classes helped me implement the Yogic lifestyle in my daily life off the mat.
The accommodation in the rice fields was absolutely wonderful and clean, plus it was just a few minutes away from the shala. The students were spread out in guest houses throughout the rice fields. And let me tell you, the food at the restaurant was suuuuuuper delicious.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to dive deeper into Yoga, even if becoming a teacher isn’t your ultimate goal.
A place like those rice fields, nothing can go wrong. Nature surrounds you with its huge green leaves, the weather is wonderful, and the sounds of frogs, geckos, birds, and water create the perfect nature soundtrack.
The shala where we practiced always took good care and kept it clean. They are well-organized when it comes to meals (they always accommodated my gluten-free needs) and the training schedule. It feels safe, cozy, and professional.
I highly recommend it! ??♀️?
Helpful ReviewI think I need some more time for spirituality, reflections, and meditation. I believe the teachers in Ubud are really great and the atmosphere there is excellent. The food is healthy and the staff is very friendly!
Helpful ReviewTanya, our philosophy teacher, had a more holistic approach and had many years of experience in the yoga world around the globe. It was really interesting to listen and learn from her. She had a good balance between theory and practice. Eleni, on the other hand, was an amazing teacher with a lot of experience and a lot of energy. She always gave clear instructions and explained the alignments perfectly. We all learned so much from her and her classes were always a lot of fun! I’m definitely going to miss having her as a teacher.
Helpful ReviewThe food got a little repetitive, but whenever you feel like it, you can always go out and eat.
I adore the philosophy and anatomy teachers, they’re amazing people! They’re knowledgeable, but I think they could be better prepared for some of the questions people will ask. The people you meet at the YTT are incredible, from the teachers to your “classmates” and the staff at the restaurant and accommodation.
Gourav was our Vinyasa and alignment teacher, and he’s a wealth of knowledge. Plus, he’s funny, making attending his classes a joy.
You’ll learn so much, and everyone will be open to helping you and answering your questions.
Honestly, it was one of the most heartwarming and beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. There were even some tears shed in some classes, but they were tears of happiness. I highly recommend it! If I had the chance, I would do it again tomorrow!
in the class is aligned except for the textbook.
Helpful ReviewIt didn’t quite meet my expectations. They promised us a different yoga teacher along with Himansu, but we didn’t receive it. I also signed up for other styles of yoga, like tantra, Yin, and pregnancy yoga, but except for one class, we weren’t fully educated on these styles to teach them in our own practice. The course focused on asana and the mind, but it was missing soul and leadership skills. Our group was challenging, with some members being opinionated and rude, like falling asleep in class, lying down during meditation, and being on their phones. There was no real leader to handle this behavior. The course felt more like a trial run for a 300-hour course. I would have been satisfied if they had told me this beforehand and charged a lower price. The accommodation, food, and individual teachers were okay, though.
Helpful ReviewI struggled with knowing what to include on my resume when I applied for teaching positions. I also had limited knowledge about yoga alliance and the details involved in working at a studio, like whether or not I needed liability insurance. These were the things I wished I had learned. The hotel staff and everyone working there were incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help. I really appreciated their open communication and willingness to accommodate my needs. The team at yoga union put in a lot of effort to create a unique and beautiful experience. They took care of everything, making sure I had three stress-free weeks. The food was absolutely amazing and the instructors were top-notch.
Helpful ReviewChris brought us to an amazing outside experience of a class at a resort with live music, and let me tell you, it was cool! He taught in a way that was easy to follow and engage with, and he’s just super fun and chilled. Oh, and the food and cafe area? Absolutely lovely!
The area itself was great. It was so calming being surrounded by the beautiful rice fields, and there were even two massage places nearby! Perfect for some relaxation. And let me not forget to mention my accommodation, a lovely home stay.
The groups were way too big. There were about 30 students in each of the two groups. I wish they were smaller so we could have a deeper connection with our teacher and receive more personalized help with our progress. The yoga teachers, Faye, Eleni, Alex, and Ippo, were amazing. They had extensive knowledge and were always there for us. Angela was also incredible, putting in so much work and spreading love and good vibes to everyone. The staff at Kosta Maria were incredibly lovely. They took care of each one of us so well, which is not easy when dealing with so many different allergies and dietary preferences. The food was always fresh and tasty. Great job!
Helpful ReviewI absolutely didn’t like the philosophy classes and I wasn’t thrilled about the alignment methodology either. I also didn’t like that they sold a training with 30 people and then ended up with two groups of 30 people simultaneously. It was overwhelming and I believe small groups create a different atmosphere. I did enjoy the opportunity to experience another country and the amazing beaches. The quality of the vinyasa classes was excellent, but the learning methodology was lacking at times. The food was incredibly delicious and local, which I didn’t expect; it surprised me, but I liked it. What I valued the most was the group of people I met.
Helpful ReviewGreece was an amazing place! You should definitely go for it! I felt like passionate teachers surrounded me, giving me the motivation to explore my yoga practice and understand yoga philosophy on a deeper level. The food was good, and the place was so peaceful. It had everything I needed. Thank you!
Helpful ReviewYogaUnion gave us the most incredible experience we could ever imagine. The place is absolutely stunning, the food is incredibly delicious, and the teachers… wow! They shared their deep knowledge with us in a loving, grateful, and compassionate way. They always say that YogaUnion is now our family, and it truly feels like it! We want to express our gratitude to Ourania, Eleni, Faye, Ippo, Alex, Gaia, Jonah, Angela, Georgia, and all the staff at Kosta Maria who have been unbelievably kind. We will be forever grateful.
Helpful ReviewI really enjoyed the course and my time there, but there are a few small things I’d like to critique:
– It was sometimes difficult to leave the hotel, but that’s mainly because of the infrastructure in Palairos.
– The food was good, and they accommodated lactose-free/vegan diets, but the signage and selection were sometimes a bit strange. They just need to practice a bit more and offer a greater variety of dishes.
– I wish we had more opportunities to practice our own sequences, but I understand that there wasn’t much time for it with everything else we had to learn in such a short period.
– It would have been better if the course had been a couple of days longer and if the teachers spent less time on exams and more time with each of our personal flows. I know it might not be possible, considering other 200-hour courses were even shorter!
– The planning wasn’t always perfect, and sometimes we didn’t receive information or got it late. However, everything worked out in the end.
– I had an amazing experience and I’m grateful for this yoga journey. The course was intense and I learned a lot, just as I had expected. The staff at Kosta Maria were kind and the location was beautiful.
– My expectations were met in many ways. I wanted tough physical training, and it definitely delivered. I also wanted to learn a holistic view on yoga, and the course offered various perspectives. It was intense and focused, even though it was mentally challenging. Thankfully, it was not overly spiritual, as they didn’t pressure us into chanting or anything like that. Most importantly, I’ve gained a better understanding of myself.
– I am incredibly grateful for all the knowledge I have gained.
Helpful ReviewThey made the food with love but it just didn’t meet our standards. They didn’t have any fresh juices or much fresh fruit, and the meals in general were not that great. The menu had too much processed soya and not enough variety of vegetables, so it wasn’t very balanced. If they had added some creativity to the menu, it would have made a big difference.
The Instructors were amazing, and you couldn’t ask for a better location.
Helpful ReviewI didn’t like Gourrav. He tried his best, but he lacked good communication skills. I don’t know if he struggled to express himself or if he simply wasn’t articulate. His Pranayam and vinyassa classes annoyed me because he repeated the same words over and over. Many of us were disappointed when he graded our final exams instead of Himanshu because his feedback was poorly delivered and didn’t match the actual class. He definitely isn’t on par with the other instructors at Yoga Union!
I also didn’t find the workshops on children’s yoga and prenatal yoga very helpful. Itta, the teacher, is a wonderful person but not a good instructor. Her classes had no structure and it seemed like she was just coming up with ideas on the spot. I would have preferred classes on yogic philosophy or having an ayurvedic clinician speak about doshas or yogic diet.
Despite these issues, I’m grateful for the experience. The teachers were passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging. I learned a lot about yogic philosophy, history, anatomy, alignment, and teaching structure. The shala was beautiful and I actually enjoyed the large class size. There were two classes going on at the same time, so there were always new people to meet. One thing to note is that the Fire shala had a more beautiful space than the Earth shala, so I recommend requesting to be in the Fire group. Everyone at Yoga Union, including the housekeepers, shala cleaners, and cooks, were kind and thoughtful. Living and practicing in the rice fields was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely miss the amazing food, which offered a perfect mix of Indonesian and global dishes for a vegan like myself.
Helpful ReviewThe food could have had more variety. We ended up having the same 5 or 6 recipes over and over again after some time. Plus, the food was often too salty or too sweet for my taste. But not everyone felt the same way ? It’s just a matter of personal preference, I guess. Before I booked the training, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from former students and I was kind of skeptical. It sounded too good to be true. But this training completely changed my life. I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to be a yoga teacher before, but now I can’t see myself doing anything else. Nothing makes me as happy and connected to my true self as yoga does.
We were really lucky to have such a close-knit group of students who were all beautiful and sweet people. From day one, everyone genuinely cared about each other. We spent these three weeks in a loving and supportive environment where we could fully dedicate ourselves to our practice. I made lifelong friends, and I feel incredibly fortunate about it!
The teachers, Rachel and Ippoliti (also known as Ippo or Ippopo or Chop Chop), exceeded my expectations and I will remember their teaching and their personalities for the rest of my life, no doubt. They not only taught us what we needed to know for the exam, but they also shared their experiences as yogis and human beings, inspiring me in so many ways.
Before the training, I had only been introduced to asana and pranayama. But learning about philosophy, anatomy, and alignment helped me deepen my practice so much more than before. It feels like I have a vast ocean of knowledge about yoga in front of me, and a lifetime won’t be enough to learn half of it.
I want to give a big shoutout to Kostas and his family as well who made this training extra special. Much love!
Sometimes, we experienced hiccups in the organization. Communication about transportation or scheduling could be disorganized or delayed. We relied on word-of-mouth for sharing information, and the only communication platform used was WhatsApp. If you weren’t on WhatsApp, you could miss out on important information.
When booking, we weren’t informed about living off-campus. Personally, if I had known I would have to live off-campus, I wouldn’t have wanted to take the course.
In my opinion, there were moments when we needed to pay more attention to the students’ physical conditions. Not everyone was prepared for all the poses we attempted, and there were a few minor injuries.
During my stay, there were about 40 students split into two groups, with mine having 21 students. However, I was told that in some months, the groups can be as large as 35 students. The group size was fine, but it definitely shouldn’t have been any bigger.
Personally, I would have loved to have a more in-depth education in anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology, and especially philosophy. It’s important to note that this course only served as an introduction to these topics. Experiences varied greatly between the two groups, as much depended on the individual style and teaching method of the teachers. Overall, I would have liked to see more alignment among the teachers.
With that being said, I had a fantastic experience and would do it again! The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, including anatomy, philosophy, alignment, and the practical aspects of yoga. I enjoyed the holistic approach. Theoretical lessons were primarily taught with everyone sitting on the floor, which was tiring initially. The combination of theory and practice was perfect for exploring and delving deeper into the concepts.
The quality of the teachers was good, and everyone appreciated them. However, the teachers aren’t disclosed when booking, so it can be a surprise who will be teaching during your stay.
The staff at Kosta Maria hotel were incredibly kind and accommodating. They were always ready to help and had a great sense of humor. You made our experience extra special! The food was excellent, and regular mealtimes were maintained. The cleanliness was perfect, and my room had a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Lastly, I was amazed by the other students. They were caring, kind, and always friendly. Being part of this community made everything so enjoyable, and I could always count on them if I needed any help.
Helpful ReviewThe training exceeds expectations with its exceptional quality. The teachers are fantastic and have a high level of expertise in organizing the training. They are attentive and always available throughout the course. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a view of the sea during the lessons. The beds are so comfortable, and there’s air conditioning in the rooms. The hotel staff is like family, and the porridge is simply amazing. Thank you for everything – it truly has been the most incredible experience of my life!
Helpful ReviewI didn’t enjoy the training, but it wasn’t because of the training or the teachers. It was more about the people in my group who signed up for it. A lot of them were judgmental and close-minded Westerners who only saw yoga as a workout and ignored the spiritual aspect. They weren’t open-minded or accepting, and there were many little groups and gossip. I wish we had accepted everyone and had a big group where everyone was treated equally. I was able to ignore all of this, but it wasn’t enjoyable. Maybe it was also because there were too many people in the Fire group. I wish we had known in advance that there would be 30+ people in one group. Additionally, during lessons, it was mostly the same dominant people who asked questions, making it harder for the quieter ones to benefit from the lessons. It depends on your personality; extroverted people may thrive more in this kind of environment. The food wasn’t to my liking either. The vegan option left me very hungry since there often wasn’t enough protein available. Some meals, either lunch or dinner, didn’t have any protein at all. However, I must say that the teachers and the training itself were amazing. Despite only learning how to plan 30-minute lessons, we can apply this knowledge to create 1-hour lessons, but we’ll have to do it on our own time.
Helpful ReviewThere were too many students for the training, and the philosophy class could have been more systematic. The Alignment and Anatomy classes needed improvement, as well as the location of the training. Moreover, the food provided during the training was not up to par.
Helpful ReviewThe whole experience felt militant and didn’t live up to the personal and spiritual vibes they promoted in their marketing. However, the owner of the main hotel, who cooked our food every day, was really friendly and welcoming. Though there wasn’t much variety and we wished for more options in the food. We ended up eating off the property most of the time.
Helpful Review7 out of 30 students, including me, stayed at a different place that was a 5-minute car ride or a 20-minute walk from the actual accommodation. It didn’t really bother me to stay somewhere else, except for the fact that our daily pickups to go to the original place were rarely on time, making us sometimes late for class.
They promoted it as Vinyasa/Ashtanga training, but I personally consider it to be just Vinyasa training. However, they did cover almost all styles of yoga, including Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, and more. Overall, my experience at YogaUnion was fantastic. The teachers, Ippoliti, Rachel, and Eleni, were extremely knowledgeable and kind. The classes were educational, and the teachers were always available for any questions. The staff at the accommodation were also very caring and kind. The food they served was always delicious. When I wasn’t feeling well, the staff took great care of me, adjusting the food to my needs and checking up on me every day to see if I was okay.
Helpful ReviewEvery morning, I walked through the rice fields to the shala and it felt truly magical. The chefs at the training were so accommodating and made sure to cater to everyone’s food allergies. Plus, the vegan options they provided were absolutely delicious! Faye and Himanshu, our instructors, were simply outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better 200 hour YTT experience. The training itself was challenging, but in the most rewarding way possible.
Helpful ReviewI’m so grateful that I chose this YTT. The training couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s still hard for me to believe that it actually happened.
What I loved the most:
-The location was absolutely stunning, with a beautiful shala surrounded by peaceful ricefields. It was the perfect balance of being isolated yet close to Ubud city center, which was great for food and shopping.
-The teachers, Fay, Himanshu, and Spyros, were all incredible. They really pushed us physically during the vinyasa practice, and their sense of humor was so important in motivating us and helping us remember the most important things. It was a lot to take in during the three weeks, but I had a blast!
-The organization was spot on, with everything being very clear. Plus, the accommodation and meals were conveniently located very close to the shala.
Some small organization details weren’t always perfectly clear, but it didn’t bother me personally. The place was magical, with a private beach and nice people – we felt like family members. The food was amazing too. The teachers were incredible, truly outstanding. I’m thrilled about this experience.
Helpful ReviewI would say that both the trainer really brought an amazing energy to our sessions. They worked with us and pushed us in the best way possible. I had such an amazing training experience.
Helpful ReviewI’d like to have more information about the transportation to Palairos before the course. I had to book a complicated first flight ticket (since it was off-season), but then the company offered us a car transport from Athens to the school. So, I had to cancel my first ticket with no refund and book a new one. The facility’s service and food they provided were absolutely delicious. And let me tell you, the yoga anatomy sessions were the best!
Helpful ReviewI loved everything! If only there were more green vegetables during meals. It would also be great to have a bigger gap between breakfast and lunch. The location was amazing, and the staff at YogaUnion made this trip so easy and seamless. I was able to fully focus on the course with all my energy.
Helpful ReviewIf you’re thinking about coming during the winter, just keep in mind that Greece can get pretty cold. So, make sure to pack some extra layers and warm clothes. Now, let me tell you about my incredible experience during my teacher training in Palairos.
Faye is an absolute yoga pro. She teaches with such clarity, and she’s so passionate about what she does. She gives really helpful feedback and pushes everyone to be their best selves. Laila is such a gentle soul, and her knowledge of breath work, meditation, yin, and nidra yoga is just amazing. She’s also great at breaking down those tricky arm balancing poses. Together, they were the perfect team. Oh, and I can’t forget Jonas, the anatomy teacher. His classes were just outstanding! He has this talent for explaining complex subjects in such simple and easy ways. If you get Jonas for anatomy, you’re in for a real treat, although be prepared for his dry sense of humor, haha.
I can’t thank these three enough for such an unforgettable and enriching teacher training. I learned so much, and I will be forever grateful.
The place we stayed, ‘foodpath’ in Palairos, was just stunning. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by beautiful mountains. It’s a truly authentic Greek place. The food there was incredible! Always so diverse and made with fresh ingredients. You could really feel the love and care Adonis and Elli put into every meal. They were always there for us and took care of everything. Thank you both for opening your home to us and making it feel like our own.
I can definitely say, without a doubt, that I highly recommend coming here for your teacher training. It’s an experience you won’t regret.
Helpful ReviewI really liked the teachers, the food, and the group of students.
Helpful ReviewThe yoga teachers impressed me. They were always so supportive and informative. The schedule was intense, like any yoga training, but it rewarded me at the same time. I would absolutely recommend this training.
Helpful ReviewI had an amazing experience throughout my journey to becoming a yoga teacher. The course structure, lessons, and teachers were all fantastic – I couldn’t have asked for better training. The accommodation felt like home, and they made us feel incredibly welcome. The food they provided fueled us throughout the entire program, and Elli, Adonis, and Kostas took excellent care of us. I’m so grateful for everyone I met along the way.
Helpful ReviewMaybe the Indoor Shala would have felt a bit too crowded with more than 13 people, but besides that, I can’t think of anything negative to say. The course organized by YogaUnion was absolutely perfect! Everyone put in their best effort, and it was evident in every aspect. A big thank you to YogaUnion for creating such an amazing experience! There was an abundance of staff members taking care of us, ensuring that we had the best time possible. Faye and Leila were fantastic teachers who challenged us and were always there to lend a hand when we struggled with certain Asanas or theories. Jonas’ Anatomy classes were also excellent! The atmosphere at the location was incredibly friendly, and the food was always fresh, delicious, and diverse. The Hostel itself was beautiful and just a short 5-minute walk from the stunning sea. All 13 of us on the course had an incredible time and learned so much. I didn’t have high expectations when I came to Greece, but if I did, they would have been far exceeded.
Helpful ReviewIt’s not fair for others when some people book a double room but get a single room in the end, all for the same price. Also, sometimes the breaks during the day were a bit short on time. But let me tell you, I absolutely loved the program! It was super intense and I haven’t felt challenged in such a positive way mentally, physically, and socially in a long time. The teachers were incredibly patient and accepting, always striving to bring out the best in each of us. I really appreciated and enjoyed their dedication.
Helpful ReviewThe food didn’t quite work for me because I have trouble eating out as I’m intolerant to almost all fruit and vegetables, and we were following a vegetarian diet. However, the restaurant staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. They did their absolute best to accommodate for me. The instructors were absolutely amazing, the location is absolutely breathtaking, the organizers were extremely attentive, the course is designed perfectly, and Ubud is truly magical. The days off are also a lot of fun. I haven’t felt this challenged both physically and mentally in years. The whole experience has been nothing short of life-changing. I actively recommend anyone considering it to stop wasting time and just go for it!
Helpful ReviewI had an absolutely amazing Greek experience with the best group and teachers. Those three weeks were unforgettable as I rapidly grew as a yoga practitioner and future instructor. The alignment classes were great, the philosophy learning was deep, and the anatomy studies were exciting. I feel so blessed to be part of the YogaUnionFamily now and I definitely want to do the 300 hours course in Bali at some point.
A big thank you to everyone, Spyros, Yeni, Tanya, and Faye.
Helpful ReviewI really liked the place. The people managing the hotel were so friendly and nice. We all felt right at home.
Helpful ReviewYoga Union showcased their expertise in yoga teacher trainings during our Paleros one. They offered a well-organized curriculum, incredible teachers, personalized feedback, an opportunity to teach from the very beginning, and a fantastic location. And let me tell you, if you ever get the chance to work with Fay Balomenou, do not hesitate! Working with her is hands down the highlight of this teacher training!
I am absolutely thrilled with my decision to join this training, and I feel extremely grateful to be a part of the Yoga Union family now!
Helpful ReviewEverything was excellent! The teachers and location were great, and the food was beyond excellent. Don’t think about it, just book it. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.
Helpful ReviewTo be honest, not much. The staff always did their best to help us out and find a solution whenever something came up. It was such a beautiful experience, this yoga teacher training. Our teachers, Ippoliti and Rachel, were amazing. They taught us so much about the theory and practice of yoga. My meditation practice has improved so much too! And let me tell you, the chef is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. He always made sure we loved the food he cooked, and we were all so excited for every meal. The whole group really connected well too. We genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. The hotel we stayed at was nice and simple. I loved that some adorable animals would come nap in the garden. It made my stay even better because I’m an animal lover. Palairos, where the training took place, is such a beautiful town. The beach there is still relatively untouched, and we loved going for a swim every day after class. I want to give a special shoutout to Ippoliti. She has been incredibly helpful and kind. We’ll miss you, Ippoliti! <3
Helpful ReviewI finally asked and paid for a double room, but ended up in a triple room. However, the whole experience turned out to be great in the end. It was unfortunate that props were not provided due to Covid restrictions, so we couldn’t fully understand the Yin Yoga alignments. It would be better if the communication about this could be improved, allowing students to bring their own props. Nonetheless, my experience at YogaUnion was awesome.
I must say, the teachers and instructors at YogaUnion are of exceptional quality. They are very professional and take the time to share their knowledge and experience with humility, responsibility, and precision. But what truly stood out was their beautiful humanity and happiness that embraced both the students and the place.
The food at YogaUnion is simply amazing. It is perfectly balanced, made with fresh ingredients, and includes delicious fruits. They cater to vegetarians and vegans as well.
The class materials provided to the students were also incredibly well-done and comprehensive. They definitely help in understanding the classes better.
If you decide to join YogaUnion, you can definitely become an excellent certified Yoga teacher. Thank you to everyone for providing such an amazing experience. I will surely come back in the future. Your energy and professionalism are top-notch!
Helpful ReviewThe training was perfect in every way! The location took my breath away, the food and accommodation were amazing, and the teaching was outstanding. The course had a great balance of physical asana practice, meditation, lectures, and alignment classes. The teachers, especially Ippoliti, were incredibly helpful and always ready to assist. The group size was just right, and I made lifelong friends with my fellow yoga teachers. Ourania was absolutely amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. Her classes were so much fun! The course was so incredible that I even decided to extend my trip and take the 50-hour Yin Teacher Training course, which was just as magical. I will forever be grateful to YogaUnion and I’m proud to call myself a part of the YogaUnion family. Oh, and there was the cutest baby kitten at the hostel!
Helpful ReviewThe philosophy recorded classes have been a bit difficult to follow. When you go through online teaching training, you don’t expect to be so well guided and welcomed to the program, even digitally.
I’ve absolutely enjoyed learning with the Yoga union family! The teachers are amazing, both in terms of their personal approach and teaching methods. I highly recommend booking with them.
Helpful ReviewThe accommodation in Greece didn’t meet our expectations. We had to deal with numerous centipedes and other insects in our room every day because the door didn’t shut properly, leaving a small gap at the bottom. On top of that, there was no washing machine or closet for us. They didn’t fulfill their promise to clean the rubbish bin in our bathroom daily. Instead, they only did it once a week, even though they asked us to throw our used toilet paper in there. Additionally, the food they served was almost identical every day, and sometimes there wasn’t enough for everyone.
Overall, the teacher training was amazing! If only the accommodation had been equally as pleasant…
Helpful ReviewSuper profs, ambiance sympa dans un coin authentique de la Grèce. Je suis très content du training qui était au top ! Je vous remercie énormément ! C’était vraiment super !
Helpful ReviewI wish there had been a more structured marking scheme and feedback form for the final flow. Only one teacher observed us, and I think it would have been helpful to get two opinions on our performance. It would have been better if we had received written feedback with different criteria, like structure, voice, atmosphere, adjustments, and teaching skills.
The location was incredible, just a 5-minute walk from the Shala and away from the beach. The quality of teaching was outstanding, and I learned so much. I am so grateful to Faye, who was absolutely incredible. Ourania was also an amazing teacher, and Spyros was so helpful and kind. The food and accommodation were way better than I expected.
These three weeks were some of the best in my life, and I highly recommend this program, even if you’re unsure about it. Don’t worry about not being good enough because everyone joins thinking their practice isn’t strong enough, but it doesn’t matter! I didn’t plan on teaching after this, but I fell in love with the teaching aspect and with yoga even more. Now, I want to start teaching and prepare for my 300-hour training! I also met so many wonderful people, and everyone was so friendly and kind.
Helpful ReviewI wouldn’t change anything except for the food, which could have been more varied. But I understand it must have been tough to cook for 20 girls with different dietary restrictions! This three-week intensive course has been the most incredible experience of my life. Everything was absolutely fantastic – the place (a charming Greek village), the hostel and the family who manages it (they were always there to help and make sure we had everything we needed), and the instructors (Fay, Spyros, and Ourania) were amazing human beings who went above and beyond. The yoga and meditation classes and workshops in the beautiful shala with its breathtaking view…I could rave about it all day! I am so grateful that I joined the Yoga Union Bali family for this journey and I’m thrilled about what lies ahead. It’s rare for me to feel so connected with life, nature, and the people around me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for us – you’ll always have a special place in my heart, along with the other 19 incredible girls I met and now consider family. I’m confident that our paths will cross again because positive energy attracts positive people!
Helpful ReviewThe food could have had more variety, but overall it tasted good. Our shala was really crowded, and I wish we could have practiced in a bigger space. The combination of the location, activities, and people I met there completely changed my life. Nicol was an incredible teacher who taught me so much about my body and breaking down barriers. Every morning, I looked forward to pranayama and meditation with Kati, who helped me understand and love myself more. I enjoyed having a diverse group of people in the course because it allowed me to create a global network and witness different levels of strength and flexibility, as well as the challenges people faced.
Helpful ReviewThe fatigue of meals… The professionalism of the various individuals, especially Nikol, who was our teacher. Thank you so much for this amazing experience and for sharing your knowledge so generously. She truly shared her knowledge and passion with love. So once again, thank you. I can only recommend you 10000 percent for this experience. In fact, I will be coming back to you very soon for the next part of my adventure.
Helpful Reviewrewrite using active voice in conversational tone:
Es gibt viel zu große Klassen für einen Lehrer. Man geht nicht auf Probleme ein. Das Hotel und die Lage.
I wish I could give a 100% good review, but our philosophy instructor didn’t feel confident about the material she was teaching. She only spent 2-3 days on the testable material and then completely abandoned it to make us do exercises where we wandered around, smelling flowers and touching rocks. She discouraged too many questions, couldn’t stay on topic, and let some people talk more than others. It was so frustrating because we all had to pass an exam on very concrete information. I personally asked her to focus on the exam material and she told me there was no way to cover it in only eight days and defensively asked how I expected her to do that. It just didn’t seem appropriate for an instructor to act like that. None of us felt truly prepared when the exam came and many of us had to cram philosophy.
It would have been nice if they had given us the manual in pdf format before the training so that we could have studied in advance. The recommended books helped, but I think they should have been mandatory so that we all came to the training mentally prepared. The retreat in Bali was supposed to be a mix of work and enjoyment, so having more time to prepare beforehand would have made it easier to just enjoy the retreat. Our alignment classes were amazing. I feel so honored to have learned alignment from Himanshu. He is a devoted, dynamic, and technical instructor. He knows a lot and is really passionate about teaching yoga. Himanshu taught our class all the major alignments of yoga positions and gave us practical knowledge of using yoga. He pushed me and the whole class to our limits without hesitation. During the 23-day course with him, I saw huge improvements in my strength, endurance, and flexibility. I even tried new poses I had never done before. We started teaching right away, so I felt fully prepared for my final demo. Himanshu took us through everything step by step and made sure we understood. He’s also really good at guiding his students through things like breathwork. By the end of the course, I was able to go deeper into my meditation and pranayama. He really equipped me to be a better yoga practitioner.
Helpful ReviewI didn’t get enough out of Nina’s anatomy class and her philosophy class was not very helpful either. The 108 sun solution is a terrible practice for this course – it left many of us feeling broken and exhausted. Personally, I don’t think I should have done it at all. However, our yoga teacher was fantastic and really knew his stuff. And Jones, the anatomy teacher, was absolutely excellent.
Helpful ReviewI loved everything about it, from the people to the location, the practice, and the atmosphere. I don’t even know where to start or stop. If you’re thinking about joining a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, you should definitely go for YogaUnion. They offer a complete experience that you won’t regret.
I did a lot of research and checked out other Yoga Teacher Trainings in Bali before making my decision. Nothing else compares to what YogaUnion has to offer.
The yoga practice was incredible and the teachers were very thorough. My favorite part was the alignment classes where we spent 2 hours every day analyzing each posture. It was a great opportunity for discussion, demonstrations, and practice.
If you’re thinking of joining, make sure to book early and request to be part of the rice fields group if there’s still availability.
I’m so grateful to have met all these amazing people, especially Ourania who organized everything. Her energy and kindness are indescribable.
Sincerely,
Dimitris
The food wasn’t the best variety, but it still tasted good. If you want to surf online, get a sim card because the Wifi was painfully slow. I learned a lot about postures, body and mind, pushing your limits, Himanshu’s mindset and passion, and all the friendly people around during the course. I’m definitely signing up for the 300-hour course in the future.
Helpful ReviewI had an absolute blast at Yoga Union! The shala in the rice fields was absolutely beautiful. It felt like I was living in a little smurf village, surrounded by all my fellow yogis. The vegan and vegetarian food was delicious and healthy. Let me tell you, the teachers there are absolutely amazing. I would give them a 12 out of 10. I highly recommend Yoga Union. Namaste.

February 16, 2024 at 12:00 amI didn’t find anything. I really thought about it. I would have liked the course to be longer, maybe with more time for discussions and delving deeper into the philosophy part with a group. Especially the teacher! They had a very authentic teaching style and were very knowledgeable. They answered questions patiently and approached students in a loving and supportive way. I rarely come across teachers like this… The Shala and the location were fantastic. I was happy with the people I shared this experience with! The communication and organization were great! I would definitely recommend it and I’m looking forward to coming back for YIN YTT level 2.

January 11, 2024 at 12:00 amThe place, the classes, the teachers, everything was fantastic. I learned a lot about yoga, both in practice and theory. The teachers are very available and happy to answer all our questions. However, if you don’t speak any English at all, this training is not for you, you need to have a basic understanding. Otherwise, I highly recommend this training!

October 14, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Seminar blew me away! It was an incredible experience that I will never forget!!
I got the chance to meet so many positive people and the location was breathtaking. Not to mention the food was absolutely amazing! And the teachers were the absolute best!
Himanshu Bahuguna is an incredible instructor. His passion for Yoga and Teaching is contagious and you can feel it throughout the entire training. It was such a special opportunity to train with him in Europe!
Faye Balomenou was absolutely awesome! She supported us every step of the way and motivated us to push ourselves to be our best. Her knowledge in Yoga Philosophy was outstanding and I had the most incredible Yoga Nidra experience during the Palairos seminar with her!
I highly recommend this seminar! Don’t hesitate to book it! I’m already excited for the 300-hour training!

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amThe way they taught The Anatomy was all over the place and they didn’t discuss enough how it relates to different yoga poses. It would be better if they did the exam right after the lecture so we could actually use it in our training. Himanshu’s teachings on Pranayama, Flow, and alignment were excellent.

September 19, 2023 at 12:00 amFrom day one, Himanshu and Faye have made this journey one to never forget. They have taken care of every practical aspect, taught us the theory, and provided extra support wherever needed.
Spiros, with his absolute passion for anatomy, has made learning easy and fun. And the support he offers even after the training is incredible.
Our three teachers together create the most wholesome training experience you could ask for. They dissolve any worries about being prepared or feeling unprepared afterwards.
But it’s not just the teachers, it’s the entire group that feels like family. We all have the same passion and want each other to succeed in our practices. Sharing this journey with such incredible people will bring you overwhelming joy.
Lastly, the staff here is amazing. They are kind, generous, and hardworking. They always go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
In conclusion, if you have even the slightest interest in yoga, I can guarantee you won’t regret being a part of this.

September 11, 2023 at 12:00 amI got so much more than I expected from this training. Our teachers, Faye, Ippoliti, and Spyros, are incredibly passionate about what they do and they really know how to share their knowledge and love for yoga in a straightforward, detailed, and sometimes even fun way. Both the teachers and the hotel staff were super helpful with any concerns, questions, or problems I had during my stay at Kosta Maria. The three weeks of training were intense, but trust me, you won’t regret choosing to do this if you want to learn more about yoga and take your practice to the next level. You’ll learn so many new things and realize just how far you can go. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and grow together.

August 22, 2023 at 12:00 amI suggest that the groups should have different age options. Personally, I would have preferred a group with people aged 30 and above. The yoga training I attended was absolutely incredible. It opened my eyes to the beauty of yoga in so many ways. The location of the training was carefully chosen, a charming family-owned hotel that made us feel right at home. The food served was always fresh and delicious, and the staff treated us like family, showering us with love and always being there to help. In fact, when I needed groceries, a staff member named Stella kindly took me to a nearby market.
The training itself was intense, both physically and spiritually, and there were moments when we all broke down emotionally. But our amazing instructors were there to support us every step of the way, helping us grow each day. Faye and Ippo, our instructors who balanced each other perfectly, were exceptional. Faye’s alignment classes and Ippo’s pranayama classes were truly unique and enlightening. Even though we didn’t spend as much time together, our anatomy instructor Sypros was also exceptional. His passion for anatomy was evident, and he motivated us in countless ways.
Overall, this experience was life-changing for me. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has a love for yoga, dedication, and time to fully embrace it. ???

July 7, 2023 at 12:00 amI completed my 200-hour vinyasa teacher training with YogaUnion in June 2023 in Ubud, Bali, and let me tell you, it was life-changing. The experience went beyond my expectations.
The teachers at YogaUnion were phenomenal. They helped me learn everything I wanted to know about yoga. And let me tell you, the group of teachers was simply amazing. They made the learning process so enjoyable. It wasn’t just about yoga, though. I also made incredible connections with people from all around the world. It was an opportunity to really explore and find myself on a whole new level.
I have to give a special shoutout to my lead teacher, Himanshu. He’s hands down the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. His knowledge about yoga is mind-blowing. From asanas to pranayama and philosophies, he knows it all. And to top it off, he’s got extensive experience working with students from different backgrounds and skill levels. But what really sets Himanshu apart is his passion for what he does. He’s always there, ready to support and assist students in any way he can.
I’m not the only one who feels this way. I know many of my classmates share the same admiration for Himanshu. He truly is the heart and soul of this training. The world needs more teachers like him, without a doubt.

July 3, 2023 at 12:00 amI absolutely loved this 200 hour Vinyasa YTT in Paleros! It surpassed all my expectations of what a 200 hour YTT could offer. Faye Balomenou taught with such passion and enthusiasm for yoga, and she was always ready to share her vast knowledge with us. Her alignment classes were in-depth and precise, and it was evident that she had plenty of experience and confidence in her teaching and adjusting techniques. The practices were intense and fueled a sense of motivation within me.
Eleni Chantzara was also a fantastic teacher who perfectly complemented Faye. Her teachings on Pranayama and various workshops were filled with deep thought and invaluable insights. Additionally, she led beautiful flows with a gentle energy. And let’s not forget about Spyros Kapitsinos and his captivating anatomy classes! Even after long and tiring practices, he managed to keep us engaged with his original approach. He had an extensive knowledge of anatomy and made sure to empower his students in their yoga practice by sharing that knowledge.
Now, let’s talk about the hotel. It was situated in a stunning location, about a half-hour walk outside of Paleros town, and it even had its own private beach just a few steps away. If you didn’t feel like walking, there was also a pool available. The views of the sea and mountains were breathtaking, and the combination of the upper and lower Shala’s with the scenery created the perfect atmosphere for practicing yoga. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and the food was fresh, varied, and tasty. It mainly consisted of healthy and vegetarian spins on Greek dishes, although some may find it a bit heavy.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this experience!

June 28, 2023 at 12:00 amThe food at the training was really delicious and I have a few recommendations. It would be great to have some more variety in the morning cereal and fruit choices. Personally, I think the porridge could be a bit thicker, less like soup. Also, it would be nice to replace the stuffed bell peppers and tomatoes with another dish.
I have to say, this yoga teacher training totally exceeded my expectations. The teachers were absolutely amazing. They showered us with their knowledge, dedication, and passion, and it really felt like yoga became a part of my body, mind, and soul. It’s an incredible feeling. I came home feeling like my true self and inspired to continue my own practice and teach others, which I didn’t expect after just three weeks.
Of course, it wasn’t always easy to get to this point. There were ups and downs, both physically and emotionally, as we were pushed to our limits. But it was all worth it in the end, because every woman in the group blossomed.
Fay is like a diamond with so many different qualities. Her teaching style is critical, but in a way that helps us really understand what we’re doing. She also knows how to make us laugh, which is always a plus. Eleni is such a wonderful person, and she knows how to make breathing and meditating seem so appealing and easy to understand. Her flows were challenging, but in a good way. Spyros made anatomy class surprisingly interesting and logical, with a lot of humor. I actually found it easy to remember the important topics for the exam.
The KostaMaria Family and staff were absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious and the rooms were always super clean. Plus, just 106 steps away and you can swim in crystal clear water with an amazing view. Don’t miss out on that!

June 27, 2023 at 12:00 amI recommend bringing your own yoga mat or a travel version to put over the existing yoga mats. During my training, we were in the Earth shala of YogaUnion in the beautiful rice fields of Ubud. Luckily, my accommodation was right next to the shala, just a mere 2 meters away. Although there wasn’t a pool at our location, we were able to use the pools at other places where some of the participants stayed.
The restaurant where we ate all our meals was just a quick 3-minute walk away. There are also some great spas and cafes in the area, each offering something different every day. While not every dish may suit everyone’s taste, there was always something delicious in the buffet.
Gourav was my main teacher and he has a wealth of knowledge about yoga, pranayama, and asana alignment. He will prepare you excellently for becoming a yoga teacher. I must also mention Menik, who was an AMAZING anatomy teacher. She could answer every single one of our questions and had a great way of linking anatomy information with yoga poses.
Laila, our philosophy teacher, has a truly special energy and her soothing voice made the classes even more enjoyable. She also offers a 50-hour yin yoga teacher training.
Throughout the program, we had a mix of different yoga classes like yin, restorative, acro, ashtanga, and nidra, but our main focus was vinyasa. The classes were more intermediate level, but don’t worry, you’ll learn and get stronger every day.
Our group consisted of 19 lovely participants who made the training a truly enjoyable and special experience. I highly recommend it!

April 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI loved everything, but sometimes the restaurant was too crowded and they always ran out of food. :(( But overall, I appreciated how everyone took care of us.
Himanshu is amazing with his knowledge. Even though there were 30 of us, he managed to take care of and teach each one of us.
Laila is such a loving and motivated person. She not only motivated me, but she also filled my soul with love.
Fabien was always there during the training, constantly helping me improve. I’m so grateful that he kept me company and sometimes gave me a reassuring look, saying, “You can do it, Sherin.” It meant a lot to me.
Luca is like a ray of sunshine in our group. He was always there for us, even when we had personal problems. He was our emotional protector, and his smile and positive energy always made us feel supported and never alone.

March 7, 2023 at 12:00 amGustis Garden water Shala was disappointing. The rooms were filled with mould and my belongings, like clothes and shoes, were ruined. I feel like I paid too much for this accommodation. Luckily, I brought my own yoga mat because the ones provided were stained and dirty, not to mention they smelled awful!
The Wi-Fi was a joke – it was incredibly weak and slow. However, despite these setbacks, the training itself was absolutely incredible and unforgettable. It felt like I found a second family during this experience.
I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have had Himanshu Bahuguna as my mentor and trainer. Thanks to him, I am now a certified yoga teacher. The knowledge I gained from him will undoubtedly benefit me throughout my entire yoga journey.
Last year, a friend recommended YogaUnion for my Yoga Teacher Training, and I’m thrilled to have spent these three weeks with such beautiful souls. Thank you all for being so professional, kind, and open-minded. I’ve learned an incredible amount from you all, and this journey has truly changed my life. February 20, 2023 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, I had some uncomfortable experiences with the location. The place I visited didn’t match the videos and photos I had been seeing on the site for the past 5 years, specifically the rice fields. It turns out that it was a different venue that they use when the first one is fully booked, which wasn’t clear to us at the time.
It would be nice if they could inform guests in the future that there are 3 different venues and give us the option to choose a specific one, such as the rice fields instead of the down rabbit hole.
I also had a privacy issue with a neighbor, but thankfully Ourania, the owner of Yoga Union, was very thoughtful and assured us that steps would be taken to prevent this from happening again in the future.
Apart from those issues, the place itself was nice. The bedrooms were new and the staff were very polite, especially the instructors. They all had a high level of knowledge and were always willing to answer our questions and provide us with information.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Marina and Anna Viktoria for their amazing classes, filled with kindness, love, and enthusiasm. You will always have a special place in my heart!
I also want to thank Gourav and Laila, who are incredible and highly skilled teachers. And a shoutout to Menik, my amazing anatomy teacher, who made us all love fascia and tendons, even though it sounds a bit strange!

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amThe training may not benefit advanced yoga practitioners much because instructors have to slow down their teaching. This could be an issue with other yoga teacher trainings as well.
I don’t really find sessions like Kriya & Cacao ceremony important. I prefer yoga workshops that focus on skills that directly affect my own practice and teaching. It’s great to have instructors who are knowledgeable and patient.
The accommodations are excellent, along with the meals which are delicious. The staff is very sweet too. The yoga workshops are top-notch. Plus, it’s conveniently located close to Ubud center. The shala is intimate, clean, and well-maintained.

January 10, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Teacher Training surpassed my expectations. When I first started practicing Yoga, I have to admit, the demanding schedule was quite challenging. However, it was also incredible to witness my gradual growth in both my yoga practice and personal life.
Yoga goes beyond just physical exercise. During our Philosophy classes, I began incorporating the Yogic lifestyle into my daily routines beyond the mat.
The accommodation provided in the rice fields was fantastic – clean, peaceful, and only a few minutes away from the shala. The food at the restaurant was unbelievably delicious.

September 3, 2022 at 12:00 amIt didn’t quite meet my expectations when we were promised a different yoga teacher, including Himanshu, but we didn’t receive it. I also signed up for other styles of yoga, such as Tantra yoga, Yin yoga, and pregnancy yoga, in addition to Ashtanga and Vinyasa. However, except for a one-off class, we weren’t fully educated on these different styles to be able to teach them in our own practice.
The course focused on the asana and the mind, but it was missing the soul and leadership skills. We had a challenging group that could be opinionated and rude at times, like falling asleep in lessons, missing class, lying down during meditation, and being on their phones. Unfortunately, there was no real leader to address this behavior.
The course felt like a trial course to test if they could offer a 300-hour program. I would have been more satisfied if I had been informed of this before booking, and if the price was lower. Additionally, the accommodation and food were not up to my expectations, and the individual teachers could have been better.

August 25, 2022 at 12:00 amThe groups were way too big in size. There were around 30 students in each group and I wish they were smaller. It would have been better to have a smaller group so we could build a deeper connection with our teacher and have more opportunities for them to correct our mistakes and help us in our learning process. The yoga teachers, Faye, Eleni, Alex, and Ippo, were incredible. They had a lot of knowledge and were always there for us. I was especially happy to have Angela with us. She put in a lot of work and spread love and positive energy to all of us. The staff of Kosta Maria was also amazing. They took care of each one of us so well. August 24, 2022 at 12:00 amI absolutely didn’t like the philosophy classes and the alignment methodology didn’t charm me either. I also didn’t like that they sold a 30-person instructor course and then had two simultaneous groups of 30 people. It was overwhelming and I think smaller groups create a different atmosphere. I really liked the opportunity to get to know another country and the amazing beaches. The quality of the vinyasa classes was excellent but the learning methodology sometimes left something to be desired. August 5, 2022 at 12:00 amI really enjoyed the course and my time there, but I do have a few small critiques:
Helpful Review– It was sometimes difficult to leave the hotel, but that was mainly due to the infrastructure in Palairos.
– The food was good, and they accommodated lactose-free/vegan diets. However, the organization and variety of the meals were a bit off. They just need some more practice and more dishes.
– I wish we had more opportunities to practice our own sequences. I understand that there wasn’t much time for it, considering how much we had to learn in such a short period.
– It would have been great if the course was a few days longer, with less time spent on exams and more time dedicated to personal flows. I know it’s probably not possible in reality (other 200-hour courses I looked at were even shorter), but it’s just a thought.
– The planning wasn’t always perfect, and there were times when we didn’t receive information or got it late. However, everything still worked out in the end.
– I want to thank you for the wonderful experience! Embarking on this yoga journey made me very happy. The course was intense, but I learned a lot, just as I expected. The staff at Kosta Maria were kind, and the location was beautiful.
I had several expectations before the course, and I’m happy to say that they were all fulfilled:
– I hoped for physically challenging training, and it exceeded my expectations!
– I wanted to learn about yoga from a holistic perspective, and there was a good mix of different viewpoints.
– I expected the course to be intense and focused, and it definitely was mentally demanding. Despite that, I’m glad I chose this intensive course rather than a year-long 200-hour program.
– I didn’t want it to be too spiritual, and they struck a great balance by introducing us to the spiritual aspects without pressuring us into things like chanting.
– And finally, I really hoped to understand myself better through this journey, and I can confidently say that I do!
I am incredibly grateful for all the knowledge I gained during this course.

August 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThe cooks made the food with love but it just didn’t meet the standard. They didn’t have any fresh juices or much fresh fruit, and the meals weren’t great overall. The menu had too much processed soy and not enough variety of vegetables, so it wasn’t very balanced. If they had been more creative with the menu, it could have made all the difference.
The Instructors were amazing, and you couldn’t ask for a better location.

July 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI didn’t like Gourrav, he was the only instructor that rubbed me the wrong way. He means well and tries hard, but his communication skills are almost non-existent. I’m not sure if he can’t express himself properly or if he just isn’t good at speaking. His Pranayam and vinyassa classes annoyed me because he repeated the same words over and over again. It was disappointing when he graded our final practical exams instead of Himanshu because his feedback was terrible and didn’t reflect our actual performance in class. He doesn’t measure up to the other instructors at Yoga Union!
The workshops on children’s yoga and prenatal yoga weren’t very helpful either. Itta, the teacher, is a lovely person but not a great instructor. She had no structure in her classes and it felt like she was just throwing out random ideas. I would have preferred learning more about yogic philosophy, especially since there were chapters in the textbook that we didn’t cover. It would have been great to have an ayurvedic clinician talk about doshas or yogic diet as well.
Overall, I’m really thankful for this experience. The teachers were passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging. I learned a lot about yogic philosophy, history, anatomy, as well as how to align and structure my own yoga classes. The shala was stunning, and unlike some of the other comments, I actually enjoyed the large class size. We had two classes going on at the same time and we ate together, so there were always new people to meet. One class had about 30 students and the other had 18. Just a little tip, the Fire shala had a nicer space compared to the Earth shala, so I recommend asking to be in the Fire group.
Everyone at YogaUnion was amazing to get to know. The housekeepers, shala cleaners, and cooks were all so considerate, generous, and kind. The rice fields were a beautiful setting for living and practicing. And the food…oh, the food! I will miss it so much. They had a great variety of Indonesian and global dishes that were perfect for a vegan like me.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amSometimes, we experienced organizational hiccups. Our communication about transportation and scheduling could be a bit disorganized or delayed. We relied heavily on word-of-mouth for sharing information, and we only used WhatsApp for communication. If you weren’t using it, you would miss out on important information.
When booking, we weren’t informed that some people would be living off-campus. Personally, if I had known, I wouldn’t have wanted to take the course.
In my opinion, there were times when we needed to give more attention to the physical conditions of the students. Not everyone was prepared for all the poses we tried, and there were a few minor injuries.
During my stay, there were about 40 students split into two groups. My group had 21 students. However, I was told that in some months, the groups could be as large as 35 students. The size of our group was manageable, but it shouldn’t have been any bigger.
Personally, I would have loved a more in-depth education in anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology, and especially philosophy. It’s important to note that this course only provided an introduction to these topics. I noticed that experiences varied greatly between the two groups, as it heavily depended on the teaching style and methodology of the teachers. Overall, I think there should be more alignment among the teachers.
With that being said, I had an amazing experience and would definitely do it again! The curriculum was quite comprehensive, covering anatomy, philosophy, alignment, and practical yoga. I really enjoyed the holistic approach. We had more theoretical lessons, and we often sat on the floor, which initially was tiring. The combination of theory and practice allowed us to explore and delve deeper into the concepts.
The quality of the teachers was good and appreciated by everyone. However, it was not disclosed who would be teaching during the month you were there, so it could be a surprise.
The staff at Kosta Maria hotel were incredibly kind and accommodating. They were always ready to help and had a great sense of humor. They truly made our experience special. The food was delicious, and the regular meal times were convenient. The overall cleanliness was outstanding, and my room had a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Lastly, I was amazed by the other students. They were caring, friendly, and a pleasure to be around. This community made everything so enjoyable, and they were always there to lend a hand when needed.

July 27, 2022 at 12:00 amThe food could have had more variety. We kept getting the same 5 or 6 recipes over and over again, and they were often too salty or too sweet for me. But not everyone felt the same way ? It’s just a matter of taste, I guess. Before I booked the training, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from former students and I was kind of skeptical. It sounded too perfect to be true. But this training completely changed my life. I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to be a yoga teacher before, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else. Nothing makes me as happy and connected to my true self as yoga.
We were so lucky to have such a close-knit group of students, with such kind and beautiful people. Everyone genuinely cared about each other from day one. We spent these three weeks in a loving and caring environment where we all felt safe to fully dedicate ourselves to our practice. I made lifelong friends, and I feel incredibly lucky about it!
The teachers (Rachel and Ippoliti, also known as Ippo or Ippopo or Chop Chop) were even better than I expected. I’ll remember their teaching and their personalities for the rest of my life, no doubt. They didn’t just teach us what we needed to know for the exam, they also shared their experiences as yogis and human beings and inspired me in so many ways.
Before the training, I had only been introduced to asana and pranayama. But learning about philosophy, anatomy, and alignment helped me deepen my practice so much more than before. It feels like I have a wealth of knowledge about yoga in front of me, and a lifetime wouldn’t be enough to learn even half of it.
I also want to give many thanks to Kostas and his family, who made this training extra special! Love.

July 26, 2022 at 12:00 amThe people in my group who signed up for the training were the main issue, not the training or the teachers. A lot of them were judgmental and close-minded Westerners who only saw yoga as a workout, ignoring the spiritual side. They weren’t open-minded or accepting, and there were many cliques and gossip. I wish we had accepted everyone and created an inclusive and equal group. I didn’t enjoy it much, but I managed to ignore it. It might also be because there were too many people in the Fire group. I wish we had been informed beforehand that there would be over 30 people in one group. Moreover, only the same dominant people kept asking questions during lessons, making it harder for the quieter individuals to benefit from the lessons. So, your personality plays a role; extroverted people may thrive in this environment. The food was disappointing for me as a vegan option left me hungry. Often, there wasn’t enough protein offered, and some meals lacked protein entirely. However, the teachers and the training itself were excellent. Although we only learned how to plan 30-minute lessons, we can use this knowledge to create 1-hour lessons, but we have to do it in our own time.

July 26, 2022 at 12:00 amThe training is amazing! The teachers are fantastic and they have an incredible level of expertise and organization. They are always there for you if you need any help throughout the training. The location is absolutely perfect with a beautiful view of the sea during the courses. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms have air conditioning. The hotel staff is like a family and they are so lovely. And let me tell you, the porridge is just out of this world! Thank you so much for everything, it has been the best experience of my life!

July 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThere were too many students for the training, the philosophy class could have been more systematic. The Alignment and Anatomy classes were not well-organized. Also, the location of the training and the food provided during the sessions could have been better.

June 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI stayed at a different place than the actual accommodation, along with 6 other students, because there wasn’t enough space. It didn’t bother me too much, except that our daily pickups to go to the main accommodation were rarely on time, so we often ended up walking and being late for class.
They advertised the training as Vinyasa/Ashtanga, but I personally felt it was more focused on Vinyasa. They did cover various styles of yoga, like Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Overall, my experience at YogaUnion was fantastic. The teachers, Ippoliti, Rachel, and Eleni, were all very knowledgeable and kind. The classes were informative, and the teachers were always available to answer questions. The accommodation staff were also very caring and friendly. The food they provided was always delicious! They even took care of me when I felt sick, adjusting the food for me and checking in on me every day.

June 28, 2022 at 12:00 amThe whole experience felt militant, nothing like what they marketed it to be – personal and spiritual. However, the owner of the main hotel, who cooked our meals every day, was friendly and accommodating. The food options were limited and definitely needed more variety. So, we ended up eating mostly off the property.

June 5, 2022 at 12:00 amEvery morning, I had the most magical experience walking to the shala through the stunning rice fields. The chefs at the retreat were incredible – they made sure to accommodate all food allergies and the vegan options were absolutely delicious. Faye and Himanshu, our instructors, were truly amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better 200 hour YTT. The training was challenging, but in the most rewarding way possible.

June 4, 2022 at 12:00 amI’m so glad I chose this YTT. The training was beyond perfect – I still can’t believe it actually happened!
What I loved the most:
Helpful Review– The location was absolutely stunning, with a beautiful shala surrounded by peaceful ricefields. It felt isolated yet conveniently close to Ubud city center, which was great for exploring food and shopping.
– The teachers, Fay, Himanshu, and Spyros, were absolutely amazing. They pushed us physically during the vinyasa practice in the best way possible. Their sense of humor was a game changer, helping us push ourselves and remember the important things. The three weeks were packed with so much, but I had an absolute blast!
– The organization was flawless. Everything was crystal clear, and the accommodation and meals were conveniently located near the shala.

May 3, 2022 at 12:00 amI’d like to know more about the transportation to Palairos before the course starts. When I booked my first flight ticket (which was quite tricky because it was during the off-season), the company later offered car transportation from Athens to the school. As a result, I had to cancel my first ticket without getting a refund and book a new one. The facility’s service and the food they provided us were absolutely delicious. The yoga anatomy portion of the course was the highlight for me!

February 25, 2022 at 12:00 amIf you decide to come during the winter, just remember that Greece can get pretty cold. So make sure you pack some extra layers and warm clothes. Oh man, I don’t even know where to begin! My teacher training experience in Palairos was absolutely incredible.
Faye is a total rockstar when it comes to yoga. She teaches in such a straightforward way and really knows her stuff. She’s super clear with her teachings and has a strong belief in what she does. Not only that, but she gives constructive feedback and pushes everyone to be their best selves.
Laila is such a gentle soul and has an incredible knowledge of breath work, meditation, yin and nidra yoga. She’s also amazing at breaking down those tricky arm balancing poses. Together, Faye and Laila create the perfect balance. And let’s not forget about Jonas, the anatomy teacher. I absolutely loved his classes! He has this amazing ability to explain complex subjects in a way that’s easy to understand. If you have Jonas for anatomy, you’re in for a real treat (just be prepared for his dry sense of humor, haha).
I want to give a huge shoutout to these three for providing such an unforgettable and educational teacher training. I learned so much and I’ll forever be grateful.
Now let’s talk about the place we stayed in Palairos, called ‘foodpath’. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Honestly, it’s like being in a postcard. The whole place has such an authentic Greek vibe. And the food! Oh my goodness, so diverse and always made with fresh ingredients. Adonis and Elli, the owners, put so much love into every dish. They were always there for us whenever we needed anything and took care of everything. I can’t thank them enough for opening up their home and making it feel like our own.
I definitely recommend coming here for your teacher training. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

February 8, 2022 at 12:00 amMaybe having more than 13 people would have made the Indoor Shala a bit too cozy, but besides that, I don’t know what else to say. Literally, everything was perfectly planned, and everyone gave their best. Thank you so much YogaUnion for creating this course! It was perfect. There were so many people taking care of us, ensuring we had the best experience possible. Faye and Leila are fantastic teachers who challenged us and were always there to help when we needed extra assistance with understanding certain Asanas or theories. Jonas’ Anatomy classes were also great! The atmosphere was incredibly friendly, and the food was always fresh, delicious, and varied. The Hostel is beautiful and only a 5-minute walk from the stunning sea. There were 13 of us in the course, and I’m certain that each and every one of us had an amazing time and learned so much. I came to Greece without any expectations, but if I did have any, they were definitely surpassed.

July 13, 2021 at 12:00 amI booked and paid for a double room, but ended up in a triple room. However, I still had a great experience overall. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, there were no props provided, so we couldn’t use them to understand Yin Yoga alignments. It’s a shame that communication about this could be improved to allow students to bring their own props. Despite that, my experience at YogaUnion was awesome.
The teachers and instructors at YogaUnion are of exceptional quality. They are highly professional and take the time to share their knowledge and experience with humility, responsibility, and precision. But what really stood out to me was their beautiful humanity and the positive atmosphere they created for the students and the entire place.
The food at YogaUnion is amazing. It’s well-balanced, made with fresh ingredients, and includes delicious fruits. They also cater to vegetarian and vegan diets.
The class materials provided to the students were also done very well and were amazing. You will definitely learn how to be an excellent certified Yoga teacher.

September 22, 2020 at 12:00 amThe accommodation in Greece didn’t meet our expectations. We had numerous centipedes and other insects in our room every day because the door didn’t shut properly, leaving a small gap at the bottom. On top of that, there was no washing machine or closet available for us. They failed to clean the rubbish bin in our bathroom daily as promised. It only happened once a week, despite them instructing us to put used toilet paper in it. Additionally, the food they cooked was repetitive, and sometimes not enough for everyone. Despite these issues, the teacher training itself was amazing. If only the accommodation had been just as nice…

August 25, 2020 at 12:00 amI would have preferred if the final flow had a more regimented mark scheme and feedback form. March 6, 2020 at 12:00 amI wish I could give a 100% good review, but our philosophy instructor didn’t feel confident about the material she was teaching. She only spent 2-3 days on the testable material and then completely abandoned it to make us do exercises where we wandered around smelling flowers and touching rocks. She discouraged too many questions, couldn’t stay on topic, and allowed some people to speak more than others. This was extremely frustrating because we were all supposed to pass an exam on very concrete information. I personally asked her to focus on the exam material and she told me there was no way to cover it in only eight days and defensively asked me how I expected her to do that. I didn’t feel like this was an appropriate attitude from an instructor. No one felt truly prepared when the exam came, and many of us spent a lot of time cramming philosophy.
It would have been nice if they had given us the manual in pdf format before the training so that we could have spent time studying in advance. Reading the recommended books definitely helped, but I feel that they should have been mandatory so that we all could have come to training mentally prepared. The retreat in Bali is definitely both work and enjoyment, so if we had more opportunity to put work in in advance, it would have made the retreat easier to just enjoy. Our alignment classes were amazing. I feel honored to have learned alignment from Himanshu. He is a devoted, dynamic, and technical instructor. He is both knowledgeable and passionate about teaching yoga. Himanshu taught our class all of the major alignments of yoga positions and gave us practical knowledge of using yoga. He personally pushed me to new limits and he wasn’t afraid to demand the best from our entire class. During my 23-day course with him, my strength, stamina, and flexibility all improved dramatically. I was able to do new poses I had never tried before. We started teaching immediately, so this helped me feel fully prepared for my final demo. Himanshu built up everything slowly and methodically. He is also excellent at guiding his students through more subtle things like breathwork. At the end of my course, I found myself able to go deeper into my meditation and pranayama. He truly equipped me to be a better yoga practitioner.

February 5, 2020 at 12:00 amAfter the third week, the food got a bit repetitive but still tasty.
During classes, teachers should ask any retreat participant to show the “example,” regardless of their level, instead of always choosing the most flexible or stronger yogi. This way, everyone can see how the teacher corrects or guides the student into the asana, since we’re more likely to teach beginner or intermediate students than someone who already knows everything. Yoga isn’t about comparing ourselves to others. Some yogis were disappointed to always see the same advanced student demonstrating the asana.
I hope this feedback is considered for future retreats. Despite this, I really enjoyed myself and highly recommend it! The location in the middle of the rice fields is amazing! The shala and restaurant were incredible, and the breakfast was the best with so many fruits, muesli, homemade coconut yogurt, and sometimes pancakes and French toast. Everyone was really friendly, and I had an amazing time. It was a life-changing experience! Plus, it was cheaper than other organizations, which was really incredible.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amI highly recommend arriving two days early to get over jet lag and adjust to the weather before the course starts. Stay at least a week after so you can explore the island/Gili/Nusa Penida. The course is intense, and you get two Sundays off to relax and not cram in activities.
The teachers were amazing with asana, anatomy, and philosophy. I learned so much and know it will stick with me because of the passion and care from Aaka (philosophy) and Spyros (anatomy). The daily asana and vinyasa classes were top-notch with Nikol and Himanshu.
The accommodation at Mansion Resort was like a dream honeymoon spot! I splurged on my own double room and it was absolutely worth it. The staff were friendly, rooms were cleaned daily, and there were great spaces to work and study. The Shalas where classes were held were stunning.
Note that the resort isn’t in town, but there’s a free shuttle or a taxi for £8 one way. Scooter hire is also available nearby.
The food was good, especially for vegetarians like myself. I wished they had a coffee supply in the afternoon, but the cafe offered iced coffee for £3.50.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amI wish we had more moments of silence during the training so we could focus inward and truly begin this inner yogic journey. The training felt a bit superficial, like just transferring information. I suggest incorporating a few silent days (maybe at the beginning) or having silent mornings until after breakfast. This way students can meditate, practice pranayama, and focus on their asana practice. It will help them grasp the essence of yoga beyond just a workout. Himanshu, our teacher, did a fantastic job making classes enjoyable while pushing us to excel. He imparted his wisdom in a way that allowed us to take what resonated with us. I’m thankful for the amazing other teachers as well and grateful for the opportunity to learn from them.

February 4, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food needs more variety, it’s getting repetitive. The Philosophy teacher isn’t always clear. But the classes are great! Nikol is a brilliant yoga teacher with tons of experience . She really knows her stuff. The location is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and Spyros, the anatomy teacher, has a fantastic way of teaching that’s easy and enjoyable to understand. I’ve learned so much and met some lovely people. I really enjoyed the experience.

January 17, 2020 at 12:00 amThank you, Yoga Union, for an amazing experience. I couldn’t believe it when I read the reviews beforehand, but it’s true – you can learn so much and have a life-changing experience in such a short time. Spyros, Ourania, Himanshu, Celine, and Sirios were so dedicated and brought so much energy and passion throughout the three weeks. They answered all our questions and pushed us to step outside our comfort zone. They never let us give up, especially Himanshu! Immersing myself in this intense program for three weeks has changed my perspective and given me a more holistic view of yoga. The teachers’ energy is truly inspiring and gives you the confidence to achieve anything you set your mind to.

January 14, 2020 at 12:00 amI wish we had started with introductions for everyone at the beginning – some fun games or activities would have been great to ensure we all knew each other’s names.
In anatomy, we learned that strength can be built quickly but tendons and ligaments need more time to adjust. I would have appreciated if the teachers had reminded us to listen to our bodies and take it slow. Instead, it felt like we were pushed to push ourselves to the limit in every pose, which led to injuries for many in the class. I think more adaptions and adjustments would have been healthier in a 3-week intense training.
I expected more guidance and adjustments for beginners in yoga, as the YTT was advertised as suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners.
In philosophy class, I wanted more basic information before jumping into deep discussions on topics I wasn’t familiar with. It was especially challenging for non-native English speakers to keep up. I don’t feel like I have a good grasp on yoga philosophy, perhaps due to the unstructured approach to teaching.
Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere created by the teachers, trainees, and Karmayogis. The schedule, food (though more variety in fruits would be nice), location, and structure of the training were all positives for me. I appreciated the focus on alignment, early teaching opportunities, international mix of participants, and special events like the cacao ceremony and silent walk. The dedication and passion of each teacher was evident and appreciated.

January 11, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food lacked variety and flavour at first, but we noticed a noticeable improvement towards the end of the last week. The teachers are knowledgeable and create an immersive and accessible environment that promotes personal growth and a deeper understanding of the yogic way of life. The schedule is grueling and intense, but it’s not a relaxing retreat – it’s an intensive learning program designed to prepare experienced practitioners for guiding others through flows and a mindful practice in the future.

January 11, 2020 at 12:00 amI was amazed by the quality at YogaUnion. I chose based on price and dates without knowing much about it, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our teacher Himanshu and the other teachers were brilliant. I had a beautiful single room with a view of the ricefields, the best room I’ve ever had. I’m glad I chose to train in the ricefields; it was quiet and peaceful, and the shala was lovely. The restaurant staff was super friendly and the meals were delicious. So, all I can say is go for it! I highly recommend Yoga Union.

January 10, 2020 at 12:00 amJust a friendly reminder for all students about the etiquette of mat arrangement because things can get a little crowded at the entrance of the shala. I absolutely love Nikol’s sweaty and fast-paced Vinyasa classes!
The fact that the shala and bedrooms are all located in The Mansion makes things so much easier without having to worry about commuting.
The training really expanded my understanding of asana and human anatomy, subjects I’ve always been curious about but didn’t know much about.
We not only learned but also taught the traditional Sun Salutations, which happen to be my favorite thing to practice.

January 10, 2020 at 12:00 amI didn’t love the philosophy classes, mainly because we didn’t have much time to discuss many yoga concepts. The teachers did make an effort to review key terms and concepts for exams, which I appreciated. However, I believe future yoga teachers should do more than just memorize concepts like chakras, doshas, and gunas – they should also be able to critically evaluate yoga philosophy. Unfortunately, there was little room for this kind of discussion in the philosophy classes.
The food didn’t excite me after two weeks.
Despite these minor issues, this retreat far exceeded my expectations in so many positive ways! It was truly a wonderful and unique experience. It’s tough to go back home after spending three weeks in such a different and amazing place. Spyros and Ourania have created a loving, caring, and nurturing environment for yogis and future teachers. They are truly inspiring. I feel lucky to have had Himanshu lead our morning asana practices. His passion for yoga and teaching style pushed me to become stronger each week. I learned so much from all of them, each bringing their own personality to the Shala. Staying in the rice field felt like being on another planet. I cherished every moment there! Thank you for this amazing training!

January 8, 2020 at 12:00 amThe outstanding quality and organization of the yoga teacher training at YogaUnion truly left me speechless. The teachers were wonderful and professional, the location in the rice fields was beautiful, and the training materials were top-notch. They really took care of each individual in the training, which went beyond my expectations from start to finish.
The training covers everything you need to know about teaching yoga, building your knowledge and confidence. The yoga shala in the rice fields is stunning and the accommodation is excellent, just a short walk from the shala. The restaurant where we ate was also just a quick 2-minute walk away, serving delicious vegetarian (with vegan options) and plentiful food.
The teachers are fantastic, professional, and friendly, making the overall quality of the training outstanding. This training was well worth the time, money, and energy, and exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend YogaUnion for anyone looking to get certified to teach yoga or deepen their practice.

January 2, 2020 at 12:00 amThe Shala, located in the middle of the rice fields, offers a beautiful and amazing place for your daily practice and classes. The sunset views are stunning and the atmosphere is so peaceful and serene.
All the accommodations and the restaurant where you’ll enjoy your meals are conveniently within walking distance (5-10 minutes) through the rice fields.
The experienced teachers, including Himanshu, Ourania, Spyros, and Nikol, each have their own impressive style and strong knowledge. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn so much from them.
The training program is intensive, demanding, and very serious, covering meditation, yoga practice, alignment, anatomy, and philosophy lessons every day. It provides a comprehensive foundation and was a life-changing experience. I would absolutely do it again!

We made connections that will last for a lifetime! Plus, I loved how challenging the asana classes were. They were tough but in a good way. Sometimes I surprised myself and didn’t realize I could bend in certain ways that I did .

December 17, 2019 at 12:00 amThe food at the retreat was repetitive, and the accommodations varied – some stayed in a mansion resort while others stayed in the rice fields. There was definitely a wide range of accommodations. I wish they had been more upfront about the differences in accommodations. I also wish there had been more emphasis on spirituality and self-development, but overall, it was a life-changing experience that I will never forget. The group was large, around 30 people, but we all bonded like family. If you prefer smaller, more intimate retreats, this may not be the best fit for you. Personally, I thrive in smaller groups and would have liked more one-on-one time. However, the teachers were amazing and many people seek out this retreat for a reason – you won’t regret it. I was situated in the beautiful, tranquil rice fields for my yoga teacher training, and while it was physically intense, it was incredibly rewarding. The teachers were well-educated and truly cared about helping us become the best yoga teachers we could be. The food was good overall, even though it did get repetitive towards the end. The women who prepared the meals were kind and accommodating. I absolutely loved this experience and wouldn’t change a thing!

December 15, 2019 at 12:00 amI was unsure about what to expect when I booked this retreat, but I ended up having a very good overall experience. In the beginning, I didn’t think I could handle it, as philosophy was being taught in a very theoretical way that felt disconnected from reality. But I surprised myself in the end, and I think it had a lot to do with the spirit and environment surrounding me. Thank you for helping me grow.
Ourania and Spyros are truly magical people with such a strong, positive, and loving vibe that is impossible to resist. The place itself is enchanting with its rice fields and village atmosphere, yet still close to Ubud’s city center. It was a pleasure to be there!

October 30, 2019 at 12:00 amI read in every review that the food at the course was repetitive and standard, but honestly, you don’t need variety when you’re putting your body through so much physical stress every day. It was just what my body needed after two hours of daily vinyasa. I’m so glad I chose this course. I looked at thousands in different countries, but this one exceeded my expectations by far. It was really tough, and they suggest reading a few books and having a yoga routine before coming. I did a bit of both, but three weeks wasn’t enough. There’s so much information to absorb. But once you get through it, it’s so rewarding. The people in my group were amazing. We became a family, sharing laughs and tears. I have a few bruises, but it was all worth it. And all for such an affordable price. Nikki was an outstanding instructor, pushing us to see our capabilities. Spyros was the best anatomy instructor, so passionate about his subject. October 22, 2019 at 12:00 amI loved everything about the training. I wish I could have seen and experienced the main union yoga shala in the ricefields, but being in the mansion resort group stopped me. I also believe the closing ceremony is better and more authentic there. The resort could get noisy at times, since our shala was near the pool area, which wasn’t great for certain classes. However, the resort itself is really nice. The teachers are incredible. They cover everything about Asanas, alignment, variations, and their benefits. They are caring and teach with a deep love and dedication to yoga. It’s tough love, but they really care about their students. I’m grateful to Nikole, our main teacher, for all her effort, patience, and care in teaching us. Spiros and Ourania are also fantastic and have helped build a strong yoga community here.
It’s a lot of information to absorb in just 3 weeks, so make sure to rest and clear your mind between classes to prepare for the exam. The teaching structure starts right away, guiding you step by step as you build your flow and practice teaching each other. It’s an intense, physical, mental, emotional, but incredible experience that helps everyone grow into a yogi family. I will always be thankful for doing this! Namaste.

September 25, 2019 at 12:00 amThis course completely blew me away. The location, right in the center of the rice fields, was absolutely amazing. The guest house I stayed in went above and beyond my expectations. And let me tell you, the vegetarian food they served us three times a day during the training was delicious.
The instructors were top-notch. Himanshu, who is an incredible yoga teacher (seriously one of the BEST I’ve ever had), motivated all of us to challenge ourselves and achieve our full potential. Ourania and Spyros, who taught alignment and anatomy, were incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic teachers. They provided the clearest instructions and explanations. Not to mention, all three of them were so kind, genuine, and compassionate. They truly cared about each one of us during the training, making sure we were happy, healthy, and able to focus on yoga.
Throughout the course, we practiced various styles of yoga like yin, vinyasa, ashtanga, and hatha. Every morning, we also dived into different types of pranayama and meditation. The workshops, where we worked on specific foundational postures, had a huge impact on most participants’ practices almost instantly. People were mastering headstands, arm balances, and backbends quicker and safer than ever before.
I can’t stress enough how much I would recommend this training. It not only transformed my practice but my life as well. I dream of returning to beautiful Ubud one day to relive even just a fraction of this incredible experience.

September 24, 2019 at 12:00 amI loved staying in the rice fields! September 6, 2019 at 12:00 amI feel like I didn’t get 50 hours of Yin training. In comparison to my solid 50-hour restorative course, this one felt more like a mix between a retreat and a training course. While the morning meditation and Hatha, Vinyasa, or chanting in the afternoon were nice, it just didn’t feel like proper Yin training.
But, I have to admit, as much as I hate to say it because the people were wonderful, the food was terrible 🙁 Vasso did a great job sharing her knowledge of Yin yoga, though. The training she provided was excellent.
The location was beautiful – so peaceful and relaxing, the perfect setting for this training course.

September 1, 2019 at 12:00 amI was most disappointed by the lack of communication at the beginning about where my training would be held. They advertised it would be in the rice field Shala with food from a nearby organic restaurant, but it ended up being at the mansion resort with repetitive food. It was difficult to feel nourished some days after hours of yoga.
Even though it was hard to deal with, I got incredible instructors and wouldn’t change it for the world. I hoped for a more interpersonal and self-growth experience, but learned a lot about myself. The instructors were phenomenal, each with their own specialty and passionate about sharing their knowledge.
The amount of information I gained about yoga, anatomy, and philosophy is priceless. I learned so much in just 3 weeks thanks to the instructors. Throughout the training, Yoga Union was always receptive to our concerns and needs. I felt safe in their hands while traveling from all over the world.

September 1, 2019 at 12:00 amWe had a large group during our yoga training, so we didn’t get a ton of personal feedback on our teaching or practice. But that was probably because it was in August. Despite that, having a big group brought a great energy to the experience, and it was awesome to meet people from all over the world. Plus, more students meant more learning opportunities. The Shala was set in a stunning location, surrounded by rice fields. It felt amazing to be out in nature and away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud.
The quality of teaching was top-notch, and we got to learn from a variety of teachers, each with their own style. They made us feel welcomed and safe, and made sure everyone’s needs were taken care of. The mix of different yoga styles and workshops kept things interesting, and the course really prepared us to become teachers in a short amount of time. Plus, we had plenty of chances to strengthen our own practice.
The anatomy and philosophy lessons were taught well and gave us a new perspective on yoga beyond just the physical aspect. The food at the nearby restaurant exceeded our expectations and had a good variety to choose from. They were also very accommodating to any dietary restrictions.
Overall, I had an amazing time at YogaUnion and am so grateful for the enriching experience.

August 27, 2019 at 12:00 amThe food sometimes bored me, but I could easily walk down the street and buy something. The schedule in the last few weeks seemed a little disorganized, but it still worked out fine. I wish I had more practice teaching time, but I think the other group had plenty. It really depends on your teacher (ours was still great). The accommodation was much nicer than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The teachers were all awesome and very understanding and accommodating of our injuries and other issues. The daily schedule was good, and not having to find and cook my own food after long days was a huge plus! I would definitely recommend these guys 🙂

August 27, 2019 at 12:00 amOur group was pretty large at this time of year. Sometimes, it caused issues during meal times and when there was only one teacher in the shala. However, they managed well to ensure everyone was involved.

The course was excellent. Each teacher brought their authentic self, offering a variety of teaching styles and perspectives. Their passion for yoga and the yogic lifestyle was truly inspiring.
This course came at the perfect time in my life, and the experience was even more enriching than I had expected.

April 23, 2019 at 12:00 am1) The food at the Mansion got repetitive with lots of vegetables (meat-lovers, beware!). But breakfast was top-notch with a great spread of food.
2) The course got intense quickly, and by the second week, many people were burning out or falling ill. We could have paced ourselves better, especially since our group had 9 days straight of practice due to messed up break days. However, the instructors were supportive and allowed us to take breaks when needed, which we really appreciated. Overall, I was blown away by the whole experience going in with no expectations!
1) The course covers yoga holistically with three main classes focusing on asana (postures) alignment, yoga philosophy, and anatomy. You also learn about pranayama (breathing), meditation, and how to teach a class. We had daily class preparations that increased in length as the course progressed.
2) Our group had to relocate to the Mansion Hotel in Ubud for practice, but it was a nice resort so no complaints there. I shared a family suite with another person.
3) One of the best parts of the course was the community. I made amazing friends from different backgrounds all over the world. We all had the same open-minded attitude towards learning and growing, which made our differences insignificant. I’d suggest extending your stay in Bali to enjoy time with new friends even after the course ends.

April 20, 2019 at 12:00 amUnfortunately, the school had to change the location due to circumstances beyond their control. I was living in Dubai and was really looking forward to coming to Ubud to stay in the rice fields and be surrounded by nature. However, we ended up staying at the Mansion hotel. It was a beautiful place and we were treated very well, but I had originally come for nature and yoga.
I did get to see where Yoga Union’s shala is and it was absolutely breathtaking! It was the most beautiful shala I have ever seen, nestled among the rice fields. I loved the teachers and the entire experience was incredible. It has really helped me on my journey to becoming a yoga teacher. The lessons were fun and interactive, and everything was a thrilling challenge.
We were taken care of very well, with the teachers making sure we were okay every step of the way. I learned so many things every day and met some amazing people who I hope to be friends with for life. I look forward to returning to Yoga Union someday! I highly recommend the school to anyone looking to become a yoga teacher.

April 5, 2019 at 12:00 amMaybe the food could use some improvement, but overall it’s still delicious! The only fault I could find was with the repetitiveness. Everything else was perfect. I especially loved how much I grew mentally, physically, and spiritually. The teachers were amazing and supportive, and I know they’ll continue to be in the future. The amount of anatomy we covered gave me so much confidence in my teaching abilities moving forward. From what I’ve heard, not many other courses offer this level of preparation. I couldn’t find a single fault with this program.

March 25, 2019 at 12:00 amThe program in Bali had a few minor issues due to its newness. It would have been easier to pay the remaining balance with something like Paypal. The guesthouses varied in quality, even though we paid the same price. The restaurant where we ate was lovely and the staff were friendly, but the menu was repetitive until we asked for a change. Despite these small issues, I would still highly recommend this yoga training. I absolutely loved the experience. The teachers were knowledgeable and truly embodied the yogi philosophies. The vinyasa classes were creative and varied, making it hard to find similar classes back home. I left the program feeling confident and ready to teach my own classes.

October 2, 2018 at 12:00 amCome in with the expectation that you’re going to school instead of on vacation. This course involves a lot of homework, studying, and preparation. You get Sundays off, but you might not have a ton of time for fun stuff. It’s a really intense 3 weeks, but it’s totally worth it in the end. If you want to explore more of Bali, just add a few extra days or weeks to your trip. I absolutely loved every part of it. Sure, there were some ups and downs, but it was an amazing experience.
This course is really well-organized. From the first week, you start teaching small lessons, which might seem intimidating, but by week 2.5, you’ll be totally ready to teach your final 30-minute class. You’ll also dive into philosophy, anatomy, and meditation, with tests on each topic. It might sound like a lot, but it really helps you become a well-rounded yoga teacher. In the afternoons, you’ll be introduced to various yoga styles, and there’s a Vinyasa Flow class every morning. The yoga classes are carefully planned so that everyone, no matter their level, can practice the full class. Your yoga skills will definitely improve during these weeks!
The teachers are incredible – not only as instructors but also as people. They’re there to support you in both yoga-related matters and personal issues. You’re never on your own!
As for accommodation, remember you’re in Bali. You’ll meet plenty of amazing yogis and bugs! The bungalows are quite open, but you’ll get used to it. Just pack enough bug spray and long pants.
Now, about the food – it’s delicious, healthy, and varied. You’ll eat at the same restaurants three times a day, so don’t be surprised if you’re served the same meals. But, if you want to try something different, there are plenty of other options available!

July 11, 2018 at 12:00 amI didn’t really like the location of the accommodation. The house was extremely isolated (not by the beach and no significant view), there were no public transportation, no shop for hygiene products, etc., and the beach was not within walking distance. If we hadn’t rented a car, we wouldn’t have seen anything of the beautiful peninsula. Also, my room was in the same building as the yoga classes, dining area, common room, etc. Personally, that wasn’t ideal for me because it was always relatively loud and I couldn’t find a quiet place to relax, as I spent the whole day going up and down the stairs in the same building. However, the yoga classes were top-notch – the teachers are all very passionate and knowledgeable. I learned a lot in a short amount of time and I am really happy with my experience.

July 9, 2018 at 12:00 amI only found it a bit difficult to live with three other girls in the same house where the courses were held. Initially, it was fine, but as the days went on, the schedule became more demanding and we had less time to sleep. I needed to use every break for rest or study. The house was always bustling with people, and it only quieted down after 10 o’clock at night, sometimes even later. It was hard to find peace and quiet to rest. Doing everything in the same house, from learning to eating to sleeping, felt a bit suffocating. Thankfully, we rented a car so we could escape to the beach or town during breaks, which gave us a much-needed change of scenery.
The food did give me some stomach issues after two weeks, but that wasn’t a major issue. I just ate out occasionally to switch up the menu. Overall, staying in the house was the only downside for me, and I would suggest having a different setup for future retreats. However, the experience was still wonderful. The yoga teacher training surpassed my expectations, with passionate and highly skilled teachers who were dedicated to their craft. It was one of the best things I’ve done for myself, as I learned a lot, met amazing people, explored beautiful places, and grew as a person. I highly recommend the experience for anyone interested. The teachers were fantastic, the anatomy and philosophy lessons were engaging, and the surroundings were breathtaking. I made some lifelong friends and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The house itself was lovely, making it an overall great experience.

July 4, 2018 at 12:00 amI didn’t like that it had to end, but I’m already missing the classes at Yoga Union just a week after finishing! I highly recommend Yoga Union to anyone looking to become a yoga teacher or deepen their practice. Even before I arrived for the training, I felt the warmth of the teachers through our correspondence. I had been unwell before the training and wasn’t sure if I could handle it, but Yoga Union gave me the time and support I needed to make the decision.
Taking a chance and attending the training was the best decision I ever made! The vinyasa classes led by Ourania, yin classes with Sarah, Hatha with Spyros, and restorative classes with Tony were all amazing. The yin class was a perfect balance to the challenging vinyasa classes. The long days and tough practice sessions require you to step up your game before starting the training.
The theory lessons were comprehensive and we started teaching right away, which was the best way to learn. Teaching early on helped me develop my style and build confidence. I recommend reading the course materials before you arrive to give yourself a solid foundation to help you through the course.

March 29, 2018 at 12:00 amThe training organization could be improved professionally. Here are a couple of things that would make a big difference in the quality of the training:
– Make sure students use the recommended books by assigning them chapters to read before each class. Some students bought the books but never opened them.
– Give a detailed schedule for the 3 weeks on the first day at the introduction dinner. For those who can’t attend, make sure they have a schedule in their room upon arrival so everyone knows what to expect.
– Ensure the accommodation description is accurate to prevent any unexpected disappointments.
– Avoid talking negatively about past students as it can make current students feel uneasy about potentially being the next target.
– Treat every student the same during teaching exams to provide equal attention. It’s not fair when one student gets close attention while another is neglected.
The training was led by passionate teachers with a love for yoga and teaching. We learned a lot about alignment, the human body, philosophy, and asanas. The days were well-structured, starting with meditation techniques in the morning followed by an amazing 1.5-2 hour yoga class with Ourania. Breakfast was a highlight with fresh fruits and delicious porridge or black rice pudding. The asana classes were insightful, helping us practice correct postures and learn how to correct ourselves and others. Philosophy lessons with Coralia were enlightening, covering the background and theory of yoga. The anatomy classes were a bit disorganized, but still informative on how the human body functions in yoga. It was a challenging journey with 29 other students, but after the first tough week, we settled in well. Overall, it was a great personal experience with some room for improvement in the next round of teacher training.

If I could wish for anything, it would be for all the participants to stay in one place, but that wasn’t an issue because we got to see all those amazing places in the rice fields. What I loved about this teacher training is that it:
Helpful Reviewa. Develops you as a person on both practical and spiritual levels, opening your eyes to yourself and prompting self-reflection.
b. Places a big focus on teaching, with practical teaching experience starting from week 1, which boosts confidence by the end.
c. The location, the people, the food, and the teachers all made it feel like a magical experience that made me smile every day.

March 7, 2018 at 12:00 amFirst of all, they advertised the course as a maximum of 15 people, but there ended up being 35. It was frustrating because I didn’t get any helpful feedback for over two weeks due to the high student-to-teacher ratio.
The Anatomy and Philosophy classes were disorganized and hard to follow, not because of the topics themselves, but because of how the lessons were run. We were told not to take notes and didn’t get relevant handouts to help us understand the material. The Teacher Training manual was so poorly printed that it needed to be redone.
They were supposed to provide all the necessary texts for the training, but most of us had to buy an extra book for the Anatomy part, which actually turned out to be quite useful.
When it came to our practice teaching, the teachers seemed distracted and didn’t offer helpful criticism. It was common for them to come in and out or be on their phones during our assessments.
I wish there had been a more supportive atmosphere for learning because I felt like it was easy to fall behind. On the bright side, the surroundings were beautiful – walking past the rice fields every day was a treat. The yoga classes themselves were fantastic, both teachers were passionate and clear in their instructions for Vinyasa. When asked, they were able to provide thorough feedback and adjustments.
The food was delicious, especially the vegan options. It would have been nice to have more protein options aside from soy products.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amIt was just so disorganised. We never knew where we were supposed to be the next day and would wander around until we stumbled upon our teachers. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a clear plan for the three weeks ahead, we only found out a few days beforehand. I get that the teachers wanted to be flexible, but having a plan would’ve been great so we could plan our personal time and not stress about last-minute changes.
I never got the Shatkarma kit that was promised, and I had to specifically request the included massage – I doubt I would have gotten it otherwise. They didn’t mention these things at the start.
Overall, their teaching was top-notch and I learned a ton, but they really need to bring in someone to handle the admin stuff so they can focus on teaching. I learned a lot that came up on the exam. Our teachers had a wealth of knowledge and shared their experiences freely. They were open to questions and made us feel comfortable. Ourania and Koralia had opposite personalities, so we got a well-rounded perspective on everything they taught. It was intimidating but great to start teaching and getting feedback so early on. I loved exploring different styles of yoga alongside Vinyasa.
Studying and living in Ubud’s beautiful padi fields was amazing. Both class locations had great views and equipment. I stayed at Gusti Garden, which was basic but comfy. The WiFi was better than at Prashanti, and the owner was friendly and helpful. The free umbrellas were a nice touch. We stayed in various guest houses along Sok Wayah.
The food at Prashanti was tasty, but I wouldn’t say it was completely macrobiotic as advertised – it was more of a vegan Indonesian style.
I had a fantastic time with supportive classmates and now have some great friends from the experience.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amThey didn’t organize anything as promised. We had classes in different locations, I lived in another one, and had food in a third place. There was a lot of back and forth, confusion, and improvising. The instructors were great, but the way they presented anatomy made it seem like they were just making it up as they went along. I couldn’t believe they had organized a ttc before and this was supposed to be their 8th year in a row. It felt like it was their first time. It stressed us out, and instead of being peaceful yogis, we had to worry about failing because we felt stupid. Overall, I didn’t like the vibes from the instructors, but they tried to fix it. Hopefully, the next one will be better. Regardless, I still enjoyed it! I loved the location in the rice fields, even though we were at Dragonfly for yoga and I wasn’t staying in Prashanti. Ubud is amazing, and I absolutely adored Bali!

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amThe structure and organization really need some work. They could have benefited from having an assistant. People didn’t handle things correctly. Many students felt upset. We gave our feedback, but then the teachers got defensive and dismissive.
The website said 15 max, but we were 35. They said it didn’t matter, but I think it did. I didn’t get enough instruction or help, and often felt lost and ignored. It seemed certain students got more attention.
I was promised one accommodation but ended up in a much worse one. It was half the price online, but I still had to pay full price. There was mold in my room, my luggage got covered in mold, and I felt like nobody listened to me. It was unfair.
The shala where we practiced was beautiful. I learned a lot and liked being introduced to different types of yoga. I wish there was more explanation about those types. The teachers were knowledgeable, but not very organized. I also met some amazing women.

March 6, 2018 at 12:00 amIf it’s more organized, then it will be perfect. The training was amazing, you can feel your body change day by day, getting stronger and stronger, and your mind gets stronger too. The teachers have a lot of knowledge about yoga. I learned more about myself during this course, becoming more conscious about my mind and my emotions. The healing wisdom from meditation can be used in my daily life to find peace. This training definitely changed my life.

February 28, 2018 at 12:00 amWe didn’t expect the accommodation to be like this… the bathroom was musty and damp, and there was no drinking water available. But overall, everything was nice, just minor issues. Sometimes, we had to use different venues due to the large size of the class, which caused confusion. But it was their first time organizing in Bali. Both teachers were incredible, strong women with unique qualities. It was awesome to have them as mentors.
Helpful ReviewI really enjoyed the long meditation. It was a fantastic personal experience. The feedback was great, and I gained valuable insight into yoga teaching and lifestyle choices.

February 27, 2018 at 12:00 amThings could have been organized a bit better, but hey, we’re all human and mistakes happen. I absolutely loved the place – it was like paradise with its beautiful green surroundings. The teachers were awesome – really helpful and understanding.

February 27, 2018 at 12:00 amWe need to organize our day and clearly state where we should be. Remember to bring the anatomy documentation for our anatomy lesson. Dinner is always the same every day. Let’s discuss the philosophy of yoga and practice some yoga. Enjoy breakfast and dinner in the beautiful surroundings.

February 27, 2018 at 12:00 amThey advertised 15 people, but we were actually 33, so that’s a false advertisement. The instructors didn’t really welcome feedback. The anatomy classes were a mess, and the course material wasn’t organized either. The anatomy book we needed wasn’t on the list they sent, so we had to pay extra to get it printed on A4 papers. The Vinyasa morning classes were amazing! The location is stunning, right in the middle of the rice fields. Coralia always made perfect adjustments during the classes.
