Experience a 5-day Kundalini Tantra Yoga Retreat in Ubud, Bali, where you can fully embrace and enjoy your life.

Om Ham Retreat and Resort, Tirta Tawar Road/Banjar Junjungan, Tegallalang, Bali 80571, Indonesia

Program

Is the Loving Your Life retreat right for you? If you’re looking to find a new routine that will make you feel more at peace with yourself and the world around you, then the Loving Your Life Retreat is the best place for you. Are you hoping to learn new yoga techniques and ignite your chakras? Are you lacking energy and need to flush your system by making dietary changes? Are you a lifelong learner looking for a new challenge? Are you looking for better ways to make major decisions and think critically? Are you feeling unmotivated and not sure how to get moving again? Are you wanting to resolve any issues or burning questions that are holding you back? Are you searching for an escape from normality?

Now, let’s talk about what the Loving Your Life retreat is not. It’s not a prescriptive program where you’ll find all the answers you seek. Instead, it’s a launchpad for your self-discovery. At Om Ham Retreat Center, we’ll give you the tools you need to take the journey yourself and chart your course for change. It’s also not therapy or a place to come if you’re struggling with mental illness. This program could be too intense if you’re working through a delicate trauma, and we cannot offer the one-on-one support you may need. If you would like some advice about your suitability, please contact our staff.

So, why do you need a 5-day Loving Your Life retreat? You’ll have the opportunity to rejuvenate your body with daily treatments and massages. You can unburden your mind by meditating and visiting a local temple for purification. You’ll also be able to learn new tips and tricks by attending motivational talks by Master Ketut Arsana. And of course, you’ll have the chance to awaken your senses and ignite your chakras through daily yoga sessions.

During the retreat, you’ll have the chance to explore various activities. For example, you can discover more about clearing and balancing your chakras in the Kundalini Tantra yoga class with our well-trained teachers. The chakras hold the key to healing past traumas, building lasting relationships, breaking through financial blockages, unleashing creativity, and achieving your goals on an abundant and energetic level.

You’ll also have the opportunity to establish a soothing nighttime routine for deep, restful sleep with our deep sleep ritual. This includes wearing comfortable pajamas, jotting down thoughts and to-do lists, enjoying calming chamomile tea, disconnecting from devices and lights, and resting your head on a lavender-scented pillow. Embracing these steps as part of your nightly ritual will promote restorative sleep and rejuvenate your body.

Another activity you can experience is the sound healing meditation. Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of sound healing meditation, where the ethereal vibrations of Tibetan bowls and the melodic tones of the harmonium create a harmonious symphony that resonates with your mind, body, and soul. As you settle into a comfortable position, the gentle sounds and resonant frequencies begin to weave a tapestry of tranquility and inner balance.

Now, let’s take a look at a sample daily schedule to give you an idea of what to expect during the retreat.

On Day 1, you’ll start with check-in at 14:00. Then, you’ll have a welcome journey foot ritual and retreat program counseling and introduction. The rest of the day is free time, and in the evening, you can enjoy the turn-down service with tea served in your room, followed by the deep sleep ritual or stress relief ritual.

On Day 2 – Harmonize your heart, you’ll have the opportunity to watch the sunrise from the traditional village of Junjungan. Afterward, you’ll have breakfast at the Om Ham restaurant and enjoy various activities throughout the day, including a yogurt massage, afternoon tea, afternoon yoga, and a motivational talk with Master Ketut Arsana.

Day 3 – A date with yourself starts with a morning yoga session and a rejuvenating facial. Then, you’ll have the chance to explore Ubud through a tour before ending the day with a sound healing meditation session.

Day 4 – Self Love begins with another morning yoga session followed by breakfast overlooking the rice paddies. The day will be focused on relaxation and comfort, with activities such as bath therapy and another sound healing meditation session.

Finally, on Day 5 – This is not goodbye, simply a farewell touch, you’ll start with a sunrise walk and a morning yoga session. Then, you’ll enjoy brunch prepared by the chef and Om Ham team before receiving a farewell touch from the therapist.

So, if you’re ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, relaxation, and rejuvenation, the Loving Your Life retreat at Om Ham Retreat Center is the perfect choice for you.

You accidentally broke the small vase and they’re going to make you pay a lot for it. That’s not very kind.

The food wasn’t bad, but it could’ve been better. I felt the retreat menu was a bit restrictive. This retreat has been one of the best life experiences I’ve had in a while. They’ve created a well-thought-out and perfectly organized program that focuses on both mental and physical relaxation. I came here for a complete re-set, and that’s exactly what I received. The staff is amazing – they’re incredibly attentive and truly contribute to making this experience wonderful.

I can’t remember the names of the two male teachers who both have a lot of experience in yoga. However, they aren’t as good at creating a positive class experience. The class should offer more options to accommodate the varying abilities of the students. It seemed like the male teachers were more interested in practicing their own yoga rather than teaching it.

I really wished I could join Guru’s yoga lesson, but I understand he’s busy with the important festival at the Ashram. The program is packed with amazing experiences – you can purify yourself at the water temple, enjoy sound healing, practice meditation, take a tour of the Ashram, and get massages almost every day.

The best part is, the people here are so friendly and understanding about the schedule. And let’s talk about the food – it’s incredible! They serve abundant and excellent dishes, and the desserts are so rich. After the massages, they even bring you tea and fruit, and there’s tea for sleeping every night in your room.

This is my third visit, and I must say, the service gets better every time.

Unfortunately, the retreat’s activities only last for 3 days, instead of the promised 5. On the first day when we arrived, dinner was not provided and there were no treatments available, except for a quick 5-10 minute foot scrub and no yoga. Had we known this beforehand, we wouldn’t have rushed to get there by 2pm. Additionally, the detox juices that were advertised are not actually included; only tea is provided. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate you. We really enjoyed the beautiful view of the rice fields, the welcome gifts, and the treatments.

The retreat is amazing! The food is delicious and the Yoga classes are fantastic with incredible instructors. I had the opportunity to attend a class with the master himself, and he was absolutely wonderful. I wish I had more time, but hopefully, I can come back again. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and accommodating, and the included massages in the package are absolutely fantastic. I absolutely loved them!

We didn’t really feel like we were on a retreat. When we read through the description, the whole program sounded amazing. But unfortunately, everything turned out to be more about appearances than reality.

For instance, the sunrise walk on the first day was a huge letdown. We were expecting a peaceful stroll through the beautiful rice fields, watching the sunrise. Instead, we found ourselves walking on a noisy street where cars honked at us. To make matters worse, we ended up going in the opposite direction of the sunrise, so we didn’t even get to see it. On the way back, we stopped at a spot to catch a glimpse of the sunrise, but it was ruined by one of the staff members loudly watching videos on his cell phone. That’s how our retreat started, and it’s no wonder we decided to skip the second sunrise walk.

The sound healing session wasn’t pleasant either. The instrument that was played wasn’t very relaxing. We were expecting a class with singing bowls, but it didn’t meet our expectations.

The evening ritual was also a letdown. All we got was some tea and a cotton pad with lavender. It didn’t match the description we saw online, and it didn’t feel like anything special.

Overall, we’re extremely disappointed with the retreat, especially since it was our last few days in Bali. However, we have to admit that the food and rooms were great. The staff was friendly and kind as well, and we really enjoyed the spa treatments. Giri was particularly kind to us. The yoga classes were also enjoyable. Plus, considering all the inclusions and the relatively low price for a “retreat,” there were some positives to take away from our experience.

We had a meeting with the yoga master based on his availability, which was included in our schedule. Unfortunately, due to his busy schedule, we ended up meeting in a large group with seven other people, which wasn’t what we had hoped for. None of us were prepared for a group discussion as we didn’t know we would be meeting in a group setting. As a result, we mostly sat in awkward silence, unable to ask the questions we had prepared. It’s a shame because we really wanted to discuss those questions with him. I believe if the yoga master’s schedule is too packed to meet with participants individually, it might be better to schedule separate meetings instead.

On a positive note, my husband and I had an amazing five-day stay at Om Ham. We started each morning with a refreshing 1 1/2 hour yoga class and enjoyed a spa treatment every afternoon and evening. The food was excellent, and we particularly loved the tea. The staff went above and beyond to help us, picking us up from Denpasar and arranging a ride for us to Mt. Batur when we left. We highly recommend staying here!

    – People were smoking on the pool area, on the second floor of the restaurant, and in other areas. It was really annoying because the last thing you want during a retreat is to have people smoking next to you while you’re trying to read a book or relax. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t do anything about it.

    – Similarly, there were people who had a totally different mindset and engaged in behaviors that you wouldn’t expect from a place like this. For instance, two men had a whole bottle of whisky and were drinking “whiskola” from a can of Coke at 10:30 AM. Moreover, there were families with very noisy kids.

    – The yoga mats were old and often dirty. I was hoping for better yoga mats, like anti-slip ones.

    – I discovered Kundalini yoga, which is not widely practiced in western countries, and it’s really amazing. The classes were fantastic, and they were open to everyone, whether you were experienced or not.

    – The spa treatments were really nice and relaxing. The staff was dedicated to making you feel good.

    – The food was plentiful, and the restaurant staff were absolutely lovely and friendly. Being a vegetarian, I really appreciated the variety of food options available.

    – The hotel is conveniently located next to a gorgeous rice paddy, offering a fabulous view from the pool.

I had to leave because this place is amazing! My time at Om Ham was absolutely lovely. It definitely brought a lot of peace and grounding into my life. The whole retreat overlooks beautiful rice fields, and the greenery and nature are so welcoming. I can’t even begin to describe how incredible the Kundalini Tantra yoga was, and the meditation and sound healing felt truly magical. The emphasis on breath work during the yoga sessions was refreshing, and I really appreciated the support from the teachers. The food? Oh my goodness, it was incredibly nourishing and delicious. You have to try the avocado cheesecake! And let me tell you, the staff at this place are so dedicated and friendly. The pampering and care they provide is out of this world. I’m already planning my next visit!

I had a fantastic time at Om Ham! The staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful. They always made an effort to improve my experience with a smile on their faces. A special shout out to Kopi and Dewa for going above and beyond.
The food at Om Ham was absolutely delicious! They had a great selection on the retreat menu and everything tasted amazing. I especially loved the fresh young coconuts and the sleep time teas.
The yoga instructors were so knowledgeable and supportive. Practicing with them as a beginner was really humbling. The meditation sessions were a highlight for me, I just wish I had done more of them.
The hotel and accommodations at Om Ham were top-notch and even better than I expected. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to visit again soon! XXXX

    – I walked for 35 minutes on the road instead of 1 hour with someone who didn’t want to be there. It was much better.
    – I often smelled cigarette smoke at the restaurant, on my balcony, and even once in the yoga room. It’s really unpleasant.
    – The program could be improved in terms of organization.
    – The desserts are not good at all.
    – For the massages, they should leave some time between the end of the massage and the signing of the voucher.
    – There are bad smells in the bathroom and a lack of ventilation.

I loved the yoga classes with the three instructors. The class with the master was great, he has a great sense of humor, it’s very enjoyable. The massages were very relaxing and I really enjoyed them too.
The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.
    The fruits were really good.
I also enjoyed the trip to Ubud, although it wasn’t long enough. I also liked the small gestures, like the herbal tea served in the room and the kindness of the staff.

I absolutely loved the delicious detox menu! It was a bit repetitive for the 8-day program, though. It could use a few more additions to the mains. But let me tell you, Tantra yoga was amazing! It’s not at all like you imagine it to be. It’s definitely a must-try and has become my new favorite style. The instructors were fantastic, bringing great humor and lightness to the classes. And the in-house activities like herbal tea classes and making natural body scrubs were so much fun. The beauty treatments were incredibly relaxing, and the team was highly professional. Oh, and let’s not forget about the stunning outlook, pool, and dining rooms. They were perfectly Bali.

The cleanliness of the common areas was clearly unsatisfactory. The stairs leading to the yoga shala probably haven’t been cleaned in months. It’s quite disgusting. The floor of the yoga shala is also very dirty. The yoga mats are gross.
The dining tables are not cleaned thoroughly. The yoga class and all the spa treatments were excellent. The staff was very professional. All the activities included in my package were great.
The breakfast buffet was varied every day.

It’s about 5 km away from the center of Ubud, so you’ll need to take a taxi towards the city (I did that with Grab, it’s really cheap). The resort is amazing, it’s located right in the middle of the rice fields but has all the luxury and a lovely pool. Every day, you can start with a morning walk, yoga, and/or a massage. You’ll get the real Bali feeling here, and the people are so friendly and kind! I loved it so much that I extended my stay 🙂 I highly recommend it to everyone, as a gift to yourself!

The staff was extremely friendly, they even remembered my name. The food was delicious, so much so that I ordered the entire menu and every single thing was tasty. The room was well-equipped, clean, and had a great view. Although the hotel is about 10 minutes away from the city center by car, the fresh air you get there is totally worth the commute. I have nothing bad to say. If they offered more styles of yoga, I would be a happy returning customer. I found the place through Bookyogaretreats and had selected the filter for Ashtanga yoga, but there may be some misinformation on their website. Everything was amazing from the start and kept getting better each day. The staff were all super friendly and the massage therapists had wonderful hands and were very considerate. The program was relaxed yet fulfilling, and the food was good. The ambiance was peaceful and zen-like with beautiful surroundings of rice paddies, ducks, fog, gardens, and a pool. My stomach doesn’t agree with garlic and onions. They made me a special meal, but the Balinese love both condiments. It’s not the place to eat if you’re on a Keto or Paleo diet. I really wish I could have been taught by Guru Ketut Arsana himself. But, unfortunately, he wasn’t teaching during my stay, and I didn’t know that beforehand. Meeting him and talking to him in person made me realize what a profound and meaningful experience it would have been to learn from him. However, I have to say, the teachers who were there during my stay were incredibly dedicated. And the staff at the retreat were so friendly and helpful.

One thing I noticed is that there was a lot of food on the program. It’s not a bad thing, but it does mean that this retreat isn’t really focused on detoxification, in case that’s what you’re looking for. On the bright side, the environment at the retreat is meticulously maintained and perfectly manicured. They really take care of everything, from maintenance to construction, making sure it doesn’t disturb the guests.

The program also gives you enough time for yourself, whether you just want to relax and do nothing or go out and explore. They even have a free shuttle bus if you need it. Personally, I chose to stay at the center for the most part, only venturing out for the Ashram Journey, Purification Ritual, and Kirtan Sound Healing Meditation.

The Purification Ritual was incredibly rejuvenating. They took me to the Sebutu Holy Waterfall, and it was an amazing experience. And the Ashram Journey was truly special because I had the opportunity to sit in Guru Ketut Arsana’s quarters, listen to him converse with the locals, ask him a question, and receive his blessing. As for the Kirtan Sound Healing, it was a fantastic way to immerse myself in their faith practice.

One activity that really blew me away was the Kundalini Tantra Yoga. It was simply amazing, but I would say it’s more suited for intermediate to advanced students. And the massage treatments included in the package were absolutely beautiful. The restaurant, especially the upstairs area, had such a calming and serene atmosphere.

I highly recommend Om Ham Retreat Centre’s Restore and Renew 5-Day Program. I want to express my gratitude to all the beautiful people who made my retreat a truly special experience.

The food. I can’t find anything to criticize about the quality, everything was fresh. But the choices were limited and the taste wasn’t what I hoped for in authentic Indonesian cuisine.

I also found the interaction with Master Asana disappointing. I expected more communication and guidance/explanation about the type of yoga they offer there. The program was well organized. I expected more group activities like the walks, for example. Since I was alone, it took me a while to make some connections with others.

I think the sound meditation could improve with the use of sound bowls. Wow, what a trip it was! As a busy mom, I really needed some me time, so I decided to go on a retreat. I chose the ‘Loving Your Life’ yoga package and I was blown away by everything it included – daily yoga, sound meditation, delicious healthy food, sunset walks, and spa treatments. The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We even had some one-on-one time with Master Ketut for a motivational talk and to ask questions. The views are absolutely stunning and it’s not too far from Ubud. I was able to easily rent a scooter from the hotel. Thank you so much, Om Ham, for an amazing time. I came back home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I’m already planning my next trip back! ?

The rooms are extremely soundproof. Because many guests are not in the yoga retreat or do not attend the early morning yoga classes, it can be loud in the adjacent room until 1 am. Other than that, everything is great! The Om Ham Center crew is absolutely fantastic… very friendly, helpful, and open! The location of the center is ideal if you don’t want to be directly in Ubud but still close by. The view of the rice fields is amazing!

I found the kundalini tantra yoga classes to be a bit too challenging for me. The asanas were difficult, and there were a lot of repetitions. Personally, I would have preferred to have a challenging class every other day, with a less physically intense class on the alternate days. But I must say, the teacher was amazing and truly inspiring (although I didn’t catch his name).

I couldn’t have asked for better treatment from the staff at Om Ham. They took care of my every need with such generosity and courtesy. The relaxation treatments exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. The surroundings were absolutely stunning and really helped me feel at peace. And let me tell you, the food, atmosphere, and service at the restaurant were outstanding.

To top it off, the daily cultural activities added an extra layer of enrichment to my overall experience.

I thought the quilt and mattress in the room were a little damp. This retreat is about a 20-minute bike ride from Ubud center. The resort’s surroundings are incredibly scenic and lush, right next to a stunning paddy field. The pool and restaurant offer incredible views. It’s a small yet beautifully designed resort. The staff is incredibly warm, polite, and always cheerful. The yoga and meditation instructors are fantastic. Oh, and the food is absolutely delicious with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. You can even enjoy a beer at the restaurant.

The wifi was often turned off and the connection was very weak, which really bothered me. I needed to work for about two hours every day so it was quite frustrating. I guess for most guests who are on vacation, it’s not a big deal to have slow or intermittent internet. But for those of us who are traveling and working at the same time, this service should be taken seriously. On a positive note, the staff at Om Ham are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. The food is delicious, healthy, and nicely presented.

During my five-day stay at Om Ham, I had the opportunity to learn more about Kundalini Tantra, specifically from Master Ketut Arsana. I’ve been practicing yoga for many years, but this experience allowed me to delve deeper into Kundalini. I even bought the DVD of Kundalini Tantra Yoga by Master Arsana and I plan to spend some time understanding it. Right now, I can’t quite put it into words, but I can feel my body becoming more alive after following the instructor’s guidance and focusing on my breathing to release mental stress.

Overall, I absolutely loved my stay at Om Ham and I plan on coming back in the near future. I also participated in a herbal tea class, which was such a pleasant and informative experience. I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, there’s a bit of construction going on around the hotel right now, so you might find the noise a bit annoying at times. But apart from that, everything was great! I had such a wonderful and peaceful retreat at Om Ham. The accommodation wasn’t super fancy, but it was nice enough. The food was absolutely delicious and healthy, and they made sure I never went hungry with their generous meal plan that included appetizers, main courses, and desserts.

What really impressed me was the incredible level of care and friendly service throughout my entire stay. The staff was always so attentive and made an effort to know my name and how I was enjoying everything. They were so flexible and genuinely wanted to make sure I had an amazing experience. Coming to the retreat feeling stressed out, I left feeling so much more relaxed and rejuvenated. The staff, especially Iluo (sorry if I spelled it wrong), were absolutely wonderful. She was so nurturing and caring, making me feel at ease from the moment I arrived until I left.

I also really enjoyed Arthur’s yoga classes! Thanks to him, I discovered and fell in love with Kundalini yoga. It was something I had never tried before this retreat. Mina was incredibly patient with me, especially when it came to meditation. She took me on a nice visit to the ashram and answered all my questions. Dewa was my amazing driver for the water temple, and I had an incredibly special morning being cleansed in the holy waters. He also took some fantastic photos and we had some great conversations during our drive.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I was genuinely sad to leave and couldn’t stay longer. I really hope to return in the future. This retreat allowed me to see Bali’s spiritual side, and it was truly amazing. ?‍♀️?

I want to extend my gratitude to the reception team, especially Suyoga and Agun, who were so welcoming and helpful during my stay. The kundalini yoga sessions and massages were absolutely perfect and really rejuvenated me. I can’t thank the SPA team enough, Iluh, Indra, and Ana, for always having a smile on their faces and listening to my needs.

The highlight of my trip was when Komang took me to the Holy water temple. He not only drove me there, but he also guided me through the process of praying and purifying, all while sharing his knowledge of Balinese culture. He was incredibly attentive to my needs.

I couldn’t meet the Master, even though it was scheduled in my program, because he was in Malaysia. They didn’t offer me to reschedule our meeting.
The optional classes (cooking, dancing) are a bit expensive. They suggested I take the cooking class without telling me it wasn’t included in the package. As a result, it added quite a hefty bill. The superior room was clean and well-equipped.
The pool and garden were very beautiful and pleasant.

    False promises:
    – Yoga: The yoga class felt more like a show by the instructor rather than an actual yoga class. There was no coaching, it wasn’t suitable for beginners, and the instructor didn’t even go around to correct anyone’s form.
    – Meditation: They advertised a retreat, but we only had one meditation session over five days. Is that really a retreat???
    – Guru: Our itinerary included a meeting with the guru. On the first night, they told us he couldn’t see us but would be available the next day. Then, on the second night, they said he was in Ubud and we still couldn’t meet him. Finally, they informed us that he was flying to Australia the following day. All this with a smile and apologies, but what a disappointment!!!
    – Room: We specifically paid for a superior room expecting a little extra. Instead, we were given a room near the road with a bathroom where we couldn’t take a shower without soaking everything. When we complained at the front desk, they said they would look for another room the next day because they were fully booked that day. We went back the next day, but no luck… and of course, the staff apologized again!!!
    – Organization: We were not properly informed about how to schedule treatments in advance. Also, they provided shuttle schedules, but we ended up waiting for a long time!!! The place itself was beautiful, the staff was extremely welcoming, and the restaurant was enjoyable.
We also really liked the massages and other treatments we received.

Walking to Ubud centre was a bit too far for me, so I had to take a taxi, but luckily it wasn’t expensive. There was a shuttle bus available, but its schedule didn’t always align with my retreat activities. I wish I had the chance to do more yoga and maybe join in some of the other classes that were offered separately. The hotel had beautiful gardens and charming details, and the staff were always helpful and welcoming. The therapies were great, and the food was absolutely delicious! The yoga style was different from what I was used to, but it was well-executed and intriguing. The yoga teacher’s rendition of Balinese mantras at the end of each class was simply stunning.

Hmm, everything was okay except for the last day when they charged us for the airport transfer from the villa to the airport. We thought it was included since they gave us complimentary Airport-to-villa transfers. I guess there was some miscommunication. They should make it clear to their customers next time. Other than that, it was really good! The people were nice and the place was nice too! It was such a peaceful escape from the busy city. I will definitely go back again. The food was awesome, and it was included in the package. We looked forward to meal times every day! We felt relaxed and rejuvenated after the trip. Their voices are simply beautiful.

The staff are incredibly friendly and the spa is fantastic. The massages were lovely and the package trips organized by the hotel were reasonably priced. The food was also amazing – fresh, healthy, and all locally grown and produced.

The surroundings are breathtaking and the retreat itself is stunning. You should definitely visit the ashram just across the road, it’s a truly nice experience. We were even lucky enough to have a yoga class and blessing from Master Asana.

I really enjoyed the fact that the menu was huge. The inclusive package offers a lot of food, which is great! However, it’s not anything too extraordinary or mind-blowing in terms of taste. Since I’m still fairly new to yoga, this was quite an experience for me. The morning yoga sessions were a fantastic way to kick off the day, and I thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast afterwards. Making friends here was easy because everyone is incredibly friendly. I absolutely adored the massages and spa treatments, especially the yogurt massage. The 5-day package was definitely worth it and offered great value. If you feel like exploring the town, there’s a shuttle service available. I loved my stay in the Shakti Room at Om Ham. The bathroom doesn’t have a divider or shower curtain, so when I take a shower, some water droplets end up on the toilet and bathroom floor. But it’s not a big deal because it dries up quickly and there’s a floor towel to wipe it away. The staff at Om Ham were all friendly and accommodating. My room was clean, dreamy, and peaceful. I especially loved the spa flower bath arrangement in the room. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the bathroom needs a refresh and it would’ve been nice to have more shuttle bus options per day. But overall, the staff really cares about the happiness of the guests, which makes the level of service first class.

Here are my favorite things about Om Ham (in no particular order):
    a) The overall atmosphere is super relaxed. The location is a bit outside of the city, so it’s perfectly tranquil.
    b) The restaurant overlooks the rice fields and has great options. You have to try the fried mahi mahi with sambal and the cocoa pancakes.
    c) The kundalini yoga classes are taught by experienced and patient teachers.
    d) The pool area is well maintained and it’s a great spot for reading.
    e) They’re eco-friendly, so you get free water refills from water coolers and they even gave me a free organic bug spray that smelled amazing and had no nasty chemicals.

I highly recommend the Om Ham retreat program to solo travelers. It’s a perfect balance of activities and free time. One day, I was so relaxed from the Rejuvenate bath (which I highly recommend) that I ended up sleeping through the yoga class. But that’s a good problem to have!

Since my visit, I’ve been recommending Om Ham to all my friends who need a break from their busy lives and want to find balance. And I’ll definitely be returning myself.

The food variety was lacking, with no sweet options for breakfast. The rooms were old and smelled of humidity. They didn’t give me the nightly tea like they said they would, and I missed out on the Asham tour and Blessing, also on the schedule, because they were busy with a big group. I was really let down by these things, which I thought were supposed to be highlights of my stay. It’s a beautiful property though.

No, it’s all good. Everyone at Om Ham was truly wonderful – so kind and helpful. I felt amazing in the Yoga classes, like I could really open up and connect. The instructors, many from the nearby asham, are warm and knowledgeable. The food is nourishing, and it’s the perfect balance of spiritual retreat and pampering stay, with some Ubud sights and activities thrown in.

Many families with children were staying at the resort. We had a screaming 6-week-old newborn in the room next door for 1 night. Children were crowding and playing in the pool for 2/4 days.

They allowed smoking, and sometimes even during yoga class, the sickly sweet clove cigarette smoke would waft into the studio.

They did not have the master teaching classes, and my package was supposed to include a meeting with him that never happened, as well as no tour of the ashram. I walked over to look a bit on my own but felt it wasn’t inviting or encouraging. However, the spa treatments were excellent, the food quality outstanding, the rooms comfortable, the pool great, and the service courteous.

The rooms, especially the bottom 2 spa rooms, could use a little refreshing updated paint – that’s my only recommendation. Everything at Om Ham Retreat was top-notch! I really didn’t want to leave because of how great the staff, the drivers, and the chef were. Tini made the entire booking process seamless. I created my own itinerary and they accommodated me with no problems. They even suggested and took me to other places without charging me extra. I absolutely loved my drivers, Sari and Daewoo. I met some wonderful women from around the world who were traveling solo and we bonded effortlessly. This retreat was much needed and priceless! I feel beyond blessed and happy to have stayed at Om Ham Retreat and am currently planning a group trip to bring my girlfriends back next year!

On the first day, I got a timetable with more free gaps than activities. There was only one yoga class per day (if that). Plus, I was the only one doing a retreat there…

I attended yoga classes with three different teachers. Two of them, in my opinion, were just awful.

On the second evening, I had a “Motivational talk” with Master Ketut Arsana. They wrapped a white cloth around my waist and a yellow cloth around my shoulders. A young lady led me through a dark path away from the hotel grounds to a hut where the Master was waiting on an elevated seat. I was expected to kneel and ask him questions. Then he performed a baptism-like ritual and gave me something to drink. The staff seemed to have a lot of respect for him. It all came off as pretty cult-ish or like a tantra community from my perspective.

Feeling totally uncomfortable, I decided to cancel the retreat and book somewhere else after just two nights. When I informed reception of my decision, they blatantly tried to block any phone calls.

Luckily, the rest of my vacation was spent at a different yoga retreat where I felt much more at ease. Unlike the Om Ham Center, this place had yoga and meditation twice a day, workshops, cultural excursions, 25 other participants from all over the world, and a healthy atmosphere. The restaurant and coffee area were charming and the service staff were very attentive. The food was decent.

For hotel guests who aren’t booking a retreat, this place might be suitable as the rooms, pool, yoga rooms, and restaurant are well-maintained and the staff are extremely helpful. But for a yoga retreat, I would strongly advise against it!

Master Ketut Arsana’s yoga class was actually good, it’s just a shame he only teaches one hour a week.

I was hoping for more yoga each day, but the morning session was a bit shorter. It might have been because there weren’t many people there. The resort was clean and perfectly equipped, and the food was delicious, healthy, and plentiful. I highly recommend the restaurant! The view was breathtaking, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The treatments were incredibly professional – I’ve never had such good massages or felt so well taken care of before. Thank you, Yuliana! I think the staff really makes the difference at Om Ham Retreat. During our second yoga class, bongos played in the grass area the whole time, making it hard to listen and relax. The master just asked if we had questions during the so-called motivational talk, which didn’t really make much sense. Maybe they should explain that activity better to guests. The rooms were super clean and comfy. The pool area was fantastic – perfect for relaxing.

There aren’t really any negatives. The only downside is that if you happen to coincide with a big organized group at the hotel (which only happened to me on my last day), it could take away from the peace and quiet of the immersive atmosphere. But that’s just something that can happen at any hotel in general. The magical energy and peace of this place are truly special. The staff, therapists, and yoga teachers are the warmest, friendliest, and most adorable people I’ve ever met. The location is perfect, tucked away enough from the touristy hustle and bustle of Ubud, which can be overwhelming. This retreat was perfect for relaxation and recharging my batteries. And on top of the expected relaxation, I had the added bonus of a spiritual experience – unexpectedly meeting the guru and participating in a regular ashram ceremony. Pure magic!

The yoga class options were very limited. I was expecting to be able to join classes whenever I wanted. Plus, they only offered Kundalini yoga, which wasn’t what I was looking for.

This family hotel, not a yoga retreat, is run by an ashram looking to upsell you on packages. They didn’t offer classes as promised on their website and would likely cancel if not enough people signed up. I was hoping for a relaxing getaway but ended up feeling like I had to beg for the things included in my package. I booked this retreat to connect with others, but instead found myself alone most of the time.

To make matters worse, an Italian group was holding a retreat that took over the yoga studio, leaving me with limited class options. The location is far from Ubud with minimal shuttle service, especially during dinner time in town.

In conclusion, this place falls short as a yoga retreat due to the lack of classes and activities. The peaceful setting outside of busy Ubud was a highlight, allowing me to observe the local rice farmers at work.

I can’t think of one right now… I spent 4 days and 3 nights there, staying inside the compound the whole time (except for one night when I went to the opposite Ashram). If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, this is the ideal spot. I attended a yoga retreat there, and let me just say, it’s not like any yoga retreat I’ve been to. It’s more of a resort that happens to offer yoga. People are constantly glued to their screens – even during breakfast and by the pool. The yoga style they teach, kundalini, is pretty advanced and the instructors don’t provide much guidance, which was tough for beginners like some of my classmates. It would’ve been better if the instructors knew how to teach and had better English skills. Plus, I was under the impression that the package included two yoga classes a day, but we only got one, and there weren’t additional classes available. On the bright side, the service, food, and location just 15 minutes from Ubud were all fantastic.

I teach yoga in the United States and have experience with many different styles. Instructors typically want you to follow their moves and instructions, but I believe yoga should be your own practice. Some instructors even push students into poses, which I find concerning.

If you have food restrictions or allergies, be cautious! I am lactose intolerant and despite repeatedly saying no cheese, I was still served cheese. There wasn’t much variety in the food options and there were additional costs involved.

The massage was incredible, and all the therapists were fantastic. However, I wouldn’t recommend getting a manicure or pedicure as things seemed a little unsanitary.
