Food

Good nutrition plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. That’s why at World Peace Yoga School, we provide our participants with delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals as part of the course fee. Just keep in mind that on Sundays, we do not offer any food. If you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, please let us know in advance, and we will be more than happy to accommodate them. Our main aim is to create a comfortable and nurturing environment that allows you to focus on your studies and practice. We are committed to making your stay with us as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Now, let’s talk about the yogic diet. A yogic diet follows a plant-based approach, emphasizing fresh and organic whole foods. We avoid processed items, additives, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners. This diet is based on the principles of Ayurveda, an ancient Indonesian system of holistic healing that emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. It includes fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and herbs while excluding meat, fish, poultry, eggs, onion, garlic, alcohol, and caffeine.

The benefits of the yogic diet are numerous. It promotes physical health by providing essential nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants that can boost your immune system, reduce inflammation, and lower the risk of chronic diseases. Additionally, it enhances mental clarity by avoiding heavy, oily, or stimulating foods, thus improving concentration, memory, and focus. Moreover, following a yogic diet supports spiritual growth by cultivating a pure and harmonious state of mind and body, which fosters spiritual development. Finally, it helps balance your energy by consuming foods that are in harmony with your body’s energy or doshas.

During your stay with us, you can expect the following meals to be included: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. We want to ensure that you have everything you need to nourish yourself and thrive throughout your time at World Peace Yoga School.

I’m not sure about the agreement between World Peace Yoga school and the hotel, but I think we could’ve gotten better quality food for the money we paid. When I booked this teacher training, I thought I would be okay with eating the same meal every day, but I was definitely wrong. They served steamed or fried rice, french fries with vegetables, tofu and tempeh, and salad mostly twice a day. Sometimes, the salad wasn’t washed properly or there was mold on the plate. I would have liked more nutritious ingredients like quinoa, lentils, and different types of nuts. Even if they were only offered every third day or so. However, breakfast was good!
Another thing that bothered me was that the teacher training I actually booked was completely different from what I experienced. The pictures of the hotel and everything else were not accurate. It seems like this program didn’t exist before. The title of the training had “Ayurveda” in it, so I expected more discussion about this topic, but we only had two lessons on it in the end. Nonetheless, I am happy with what I learned and experienced. I just wanted to let the review-readers know that whatever you book, it might turn out completely different from your expectations (which could be a good life lesson anyways). I loved learning from the teachers and deepening my knowledge about Yoga. Thank you, Ashu, for incorporating your Indian culture into the lessons, although sometimes it was difficult for me to relate to the stories. But I felt it was important to understand the roots of Yoga.
The schedule was intense, but that’s exactly what I wanted in order to fully immerse myself in the experience. The quality of the lessons was exceptionally high, and the teachers were dedicated to teaching us thoroughly, which was the most important thing to me. Thank you very much. ??
The hotel resort was very clean, and I enjoyed having a spacious room to myself. The rooftop was the best spot for meditation, and the small gym was a nice addition as well.

I just finished a 200hr Kundalini YTT with World Peace Yoga School, and let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible! The location in Bali was breathtaking, but the real magic came from the amazing teachers. They taught us with so much passion and kept us engaged throughout the experience. They really created a safe space for all of us to heal, learn, and grow. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for this life-changing journey and for the wonderful GuruJi and HariPriya.

Il y avait des travaux dans le bâtiment qui faisaient du bruit, mais ils se sont terminés rapidement. L’équipe d’enseignement était disponible, réactive et a également organisé des activités annexes, y compris une initiation au Gayatri mantra.

I just got back from my 200 hour Kundalini Teacher training and I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it was. This experience has definitely been one of the best in my life and I can’t wait to go back for more. The teachers were absolutely incredible with their knowledge, passion, and clear way of teaching. Plus, the kitchen staff cooked three fresh and delicious meals each day, and I never got sick from any of it. The front of house staff were always available to help with any questions or concerns, and they always had a solution. Seriously, everyone there was so kind, caring, respectful, and friendly.

The yoga hall was dirty and uncomfortable because of the rooftop construction. I caught a cold when it rained for two days. The props were filthy and had a foul odor. The school had a negative atmosphere and felt too commercial, lacking positive energy. Due to these reasons, I couldn’t complete the course. My entire group was frustrated. Although it should have been a nice experience, it turned out otherwise. However, the group itself was nice and some lessons were enjoyable. On the bright side, the school’s location and view were quite lovely.

I wish I hadn’t stayed at the school. I recommend just paying for the course and finding somewhere else to stay and eat. It would have made my experience better and saved me money. I ended up eating out most of the time because many students before me got sick from the food and water. The food wasn’t balanced and lacked nutrition, mainly consisting of carbs and oil. The accommodation was basic and the bed was even harder than the one I had during Vipassana. If I had stayed at a hostel, I would have had a cleaner space, no curfew, a comfortable bed, and probably fewer nightmares. But I have to say, the teachers here are all amazing. I had the privilege of being taught by Dr. Lata Ji, Sunil Ji, Kanna Ji, Dr. Himanshu Ji, Naveen Ji, and a special shoutout to Siddha Ji. Each teacher was extremely knowledgeable and had a way of explaining things that really opened my mind. I felt grateful every day to be taught by such highly educated and intelligent individuals.

There are no tools to clean, so it’s impossible to mop or wash the sink in the room. The food was alright during the first two weeks, but then they just kept feeding us the same things every day, so I started eating out on the street every day… I thought I was coming here to get in better shape, but I actually ended up gaining weight :/ On a positive note, I really liked the group of people that came to get certified with me, we all got along perfectly. The days were filled with fun, activity, and constant busyness.

I absolutely loved the ashtanga classes, especially the ones where Ashu helped us with adjustments and alignment, and the ones with Himanshu focused on anatomy. They were definitely my favorite classes. I also found the philosophy classes surprisingly enjoyable :).

If you’re looking for happiness (like we all are to some extent), you’ll discover it within yourself with the guidance of the masters in this course! I just finished an online yoga course from World Peace Yoga School, and I have to say, the teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and humble. They have so much wisdom about both yoga and life. I really enjoyed learning from Guru Vishnu Ji, as he guided us on how to live a healthy lifestyle and practice meditation. Even though I am physically away from them, I still feel their positive vibes. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to deepen their yoga practice.

Everything was perfect. But, if I have to mention something to improve… the internet connection in India wasn’t optimal, which caused some minor issues during the online course for a day. It was out of anyone’s control. However, World Peace Yoga School had already anticipated and found solutions for this. As a bonus, we received all the recordings of the classes! So, now I can do my Tantra Yoga practices over and over again! I highly recommend this online course, as it’s comfortable from your own home!

Originally, I was supposed to travel to India to do the 200h yoga teacher training course. Unfortunately, due to the Corona virus, I had to postpone it, hopefully to next year. Instead, I decided to take a 3-day online course in Tantra Yoga. Let me tell you, it’s amazing to see how World Peace Yoga School is able to offer such a high standard of education online! The teachers have a wealth of knowledge and their energy is simply beautiful! Words cannot describe how incredible this course was. It was an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this professional school with a warm family/community feeling to everyone! I’m eagerly looking forward to attending a full course in person when I can. This online course made me realize that I made the right choice picking this school for my future 200h course. Moreover, Tantra Yoga is a beautiful part of yoga that I highly recommend. The divine energy we experienced through our practices was overwhelmingly beautiful! I have nothing but love and respect for this school, the teachers, and my fellow students! Namaste!

The internet in India can sometimes be a bit finicky, so we had to be patient with it. But that wasn’t a big problem for us, we always managed to fix it, although it was quite challenging at times.

I want to mention that this review includes information about the accommodations and food, but keep in mind that this was an online course. And let me tell you, the course was absolutely fantastic! It was divided into two parts: theory and practical. And let me tell you, I really enjoyed both!

Although I must admit, the theory part could be a bit difficult to understand if you don’t have any prior knowledge of Hindu gods and goddesses. So, I would definitely recommend brushing up on that before diving into the course.

Now, let’s talk about the practical classes. They were simply incredible! Every single day, I felt completely cleansed, replenished, and filled with love. The teachers delivered these classes with confidence and a deep understanding of the subject. They were truly inspiring, and the fact that they could convey that through a screen is a testament to the amazing quality of the school and the course.

I would definitely recommend this course to my friend, and I would encourage everyone to approach it with an open mind. I learned so much that I can incorporate into my own practice and teaching.

Lastly, it was such a wonderful experience to connect with people from all around the world during this time. It really added an extra special touch to the whole experience.

I loved every moment of it! Vishnu gives an amazing overview of the symbolism of Tantra. He strongly believes that not understanding the symbolism leads to misunderstandings, and the ultimate goal is to achieve Union, just like any other great teaching. His knowledge is profound, but he has a knack for connecting with his students, even through online classes.

Radha’s Tantra flow class is simply breathtaking. She takes everyone on a profound journey, delving into the mesmerizing vibrations of Tantric practices.

I’m currently enrolled in the 200-hour teacher training program, which includes in-depth instruction on Tantra and Yoga. The team at World Peace Yoga is beyond incredible – they truly make you feel like a part of their family. Joining them will undoubtedly transform you!

There’s really nothing notable to mention. I had taken a previous course, so I had certain expectations coming into this one, but boy, was I surprised! This course is on a whole different level. It feels like being in a classroom, with the teachers right in front of us. They address any questions or confusion right away, just like in a classroom. And let me tell you, the teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and professional.

The main focus of the instruction is to make the experience enjoyable while also developing skills like focus, confidence, and mind/body awareness. They aim to produce teachers who are not only competent but also healthy in mind, body, and spirit. The information provided in the course is well-researched, well-balanced, and easy to understand.

I’m confident that after completing this course, I’ll be ready to face any challenges life throws at me. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this online course, especially considering it was their first one. I’m so impressed that once Covid-19 is over, my wife and I plan to go to the school in person for a course and to meet Guruji and the other teachers. In fact, I’ve already registered for a Tantra course and plan to continue with further courses. I feel like I’ve embarked on a lifelong journey.

The course was presented in such a professional and clear manner that I truly believe this is a new beginning for World Peace Yoga School. May God bless this school.

The facilities at this place are just terrible. Mold is literally growing out of the walls, cleanliness is nonexistent, the food is only filled with carbs, and the kitchen is disgustingly dirty. To add to that, there were four people in our class, three of us were staying on the school premises, and we all ended up getting really sick. Can you believe that there’s no hot water in the female dorms, and we experience water outages almost every day? It’s absurd! And don’t even get me started on the staff. They are impolite and all they do is sit on their phones, even the owner during kirtan! We came here to complete a 300-hour certification and guess what? We didn’t even come close to achieving it. They only gave us half the required hours and we got a certificate for that! This school is a complete scam and shouldn’t be allowed to provide certification. They definitely don’t meet the requirements of Yoga Alliance. Luckily, with the help of BookYogaRetreats, we managed to get a small refund from the school and BookYogaRetreats refunded their commission. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. On the positive side, the location was great, very central with easy access to everything. The anatomy, hatha, and alignment classes were good and taught by knowledgeable teachers.

I sometimes had a hard time with the heat during the summer, especially when there were power cuts, but the school can’t control that. I can’t put into words how happy and grateful I am to have chosen this school! From the very beginning, everyone made sure it felt like home to us, even though we were far away. I really appreciate that. The training syllabus is outstanding, and all the subjects are super interesting and relevant for anyone who wants to dive deeper into yoga after the 200hr. None of this would be possible without the amazing, professional, and inspirational teachers and founder. You can tell that yoga is a part of their daily lives. All the staff, whether at reception or in the kitchen, are friendly and helpful. They’re always ready to assist with a smile. The atmosphere and energy of the place are really nice, it feels light and bright. The school also has a beautiful garden and a big balcony with a view of the mountains. The halls where we have classes are clean and fully equipped. Thank you all for making this transformational experience in my life so unique. Thanks to you, I now feel like I have a home in Rishikesh. If I ever consider taking another yoga training, this will definitely be the place. Unfortunately, the yoga classes were taught in Lithuanian due to a last-minute teacher change, even though they were announced in English. However, thanks to a very capable translator and the dedication of the yoga teacher, it was handled well! Overall, it was a wonderful stay in Lithuania. The accommodation was decent. On the other hand, the food was fantastic, with fresh vegan options available every day. The classes with Vishnu Pranighari were incredibly valuable. Nothing really disappointed me at the ashram. I knew it wasn’t going to be a fancy 5-star hotel, but it had everything I needed. When I went in December, it was a bit colder than I expected, but I got enough blankets to keep warm. The hot water for the showers didn’t last long, but it was alright because the cold water helped me wake up in the mornings! The 200 hour Kundalini yoga teacher training surpassed my expectations. The staff and teachers were amazing – so knowledgeable and friendly. They truly felt like family. Even though it was an intense course, with early mornings and late nights, I highly recommend it for anyone interested in the spiritual side of yoga. We had plenty of chances to practice meditation, do asanas, and more, as a group. And we also had enough free time to explore the town and have fun!

We only spent 10 minutes on teaching methodology, which surprised me. I thought we would spend more time discussing things like building a sequence and proper postures during practice. It would have been helpful to learn what to do at the beginning and end of each practice as well. I believe these topics should have been covered starting in the second week, with students being asked to practice for 30 minutes each day and receive constructive feedback. After all, I enrolled in this course to become a teacher, not just to practice yoga every day.

Speaking of feedback, as a student, I would have appreciated more constructive feedback from the teachers instead of just hearing ‘very good’ all the time. I wanted to know where I could improve and what I did wrong. Throughout the course, we repeatedly requested constructive feedback, but were always met with generic praise. It was disappointing.

Now, let’s talk about the food. As a yogi, I expected bland or at least less spicy food. However, every meal was the same, with the only variation being chapati during dinner. The food was heavy and overloaded with black peppers. I specifically asked for bland food, yet I ended up eating boiled carrots and potatoes for a month. As a yogi, I believe that the food we consume should nourish our body, mind, and soul, but unfortunately, this was not the case.

Another aspect that could be improved is the course manual. In my opinion, it should include adjustments for each pose and provide thorough information on the anatomy of the body. The explanations of the muscles were not clear. Additionally, it would have been beneficial to have a section on postures that are suitable for specific diseases or muscle imbalances, such as herniated discs.

Despite these shortcomings, I am grateful for this experience as it allowed me to dive deeper into myself and change my perspective on life and the world. I learned valuable breathing techniques and other practices that can enhance my daily life. The course definitely equipped me with new skills and knowledge that I can now share with others. Moreover, I appreciated how I was able to coexist with people from different countries and adapt to sharing communal and personal spaces. It was a truly enriching experience because I was able to be myself, without any pressure to change or be someone I’m not. Lastly, I am sincerely grateful for all the time and knowledge the teachers shared with us.

The course ended 😉 But don’t worry, I wanted to let you know that the accommodation may not be the best, so just be prepared for that. However, the view from the room totally made up for it. Oh, and let me tell you, the food is absolutely incredible! It’s cooked with so much love. Sometimes it can get a little repetitive, but overall, it’s still really good. And the teachers, wow! They were amazing! Each and every one of them was so inspiring and knowledgeable. They truly seemed genuinely interested in our learning. The subjects they taught were super interesting and they did a great job in delivering the lessons. The environment there is perfect for diving into yourself and sharing your spiritual journey with like-minded people. Oh, and have I mentioned how beautiful Rishikesh is? The city and the people there are just amazing! So, remember to plan some extra days after the course to explore and experience the city. I highly recommend this place!

However, this was only the case for a few rooms. The rest were in perfect condition. But, honestly, it didn’t really affect our overall experience. They falsely advertised the course timetable, what’s included, location, and accommodation. We ended up having fewer teaching hours than we expected and they didn’t cover any teaching methodology at all. It was really disappointing and tense overall, not what you would expect from a yoga training. I wouldn’t recommend it and I would describe it as more of a Yin intensive rather than a proper teacher training. On the bright side, the location, accommodation, and food were good, and there were some staff members who were very knowledgeable. They did listen to our complaints and made some attempts to make adjustments.

I loved everything about it! Even though the living conditions were a bit humbling compared to what I’m used to, I embraced it as part of the experience and felt safe the entire time. Some students complained about the food, but hey, you can’t please everyone, right? Personally, I’m usually really picky, but I had no complaints at all. Plus, if you’re not satisfied with the food, you can always go to a local cafe or restaurant and have a whole meal for less than $4 USD.

Let me tell you, I can’t fully explain how amazing and fulfilling my experience was taking the 200hr yoga certification course at World Peace Yoga School in Rishikesh. From the moment I arrived at the school, it felt like home. Guru Vishnu, the owner, warmly greeted us at the entrance and a volunteer helped us with our bags and showed us to our rooms. Everybody there is incredibly kind and they become your friends. I’ve really deepened my belief and knowledge in yoga. Coming from NYC, I had my doubts about taking the course here instead of doing it weekly in the city, but boy was I blown away and grateful I made the decision to get certified here. The teachers are absolutely the best and they have so much knowledge to share. Classes start at 6am and go until 7pm, six days a week, so it’s definitely a physical and mental challenge, but in the end, it’s all worth it.

I could go on and on about all the amazing people and experiences at WPYS, but there’s just not enough space here, lol. I’m really excited to complete my 300hr course here, hopefully within the next year or two, and apply everything I’ve learned at home.

The accommodations were alright, but for the price we paid, they weren’t that great. It was really difficult to communicate with the staff since they didn’t speak English. They seemed like they were laughing at us and talking about us behind our backs. It was strange to find the staff sleeping on the floor of the dining room when we had to wake them up at 7:30am. The person who took us to the Beatles Ashram was nice, but it was funny because she didn’t know the location and had to ask. She didn’t even know who the Beatles were! One of the yoga rooms had a monkey pee, but they still held the class there with not enough equipment. The trips were chaotic and disorganized. The rooms felt freezing cold. When I asked about heat, they told me to stick the dusty, loose wires into the hole in my room.
My sheets looked old and dirty. The room was so depressing and cold that I couldn’t even shower because my towel never dried and I would freeze getting out. I ended up showering at my friend’s place around the corner!
I only got to go on 3 excursions during my 5-day stay, when I should have had 5 total. Speaking to others I met, they paid a lot less and seemed much happier with their accommodations.
The staff didn’t offer any advice or help with planning trips. I was the only one on the retreat that week, and I felt more like a nuisance than a guest.
It seemed like they just took my money upon arrival and that was it. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay there again or recommend it. However, I did enjoy my instructor’s friendly teaching style and our outings. Strangely, I don’t see him mentioned above. Also, my massage was lovely.

I arrived on Dec 25 as planned, but my room wasn’t ready because of plumbing issues. They moved me to a less-than-ideal place across the street. It wasn’t until I complained about the unfairness that they transferred me to a better place. My room wasn’t ready for two more nights, so I decided to leave the retreat program and take yoga classes at other studios nearby. The yoga instructor was not good and acted more like we were in a teacher training program than a retreat.

WPY couldn’t give me what I signed up for, and they also didn’t return my deposit even though they were the ones who broke the contract. I felt like I was ripped off and won’t be coming back or recommending the school. The Christmas night food was good and extravagant.

They sent someone to pick me up from the bus station and took me shopping because it was cold and I needed thermal clothing. The driver and his partner were kind, sweet, and considerate.

The trip to the Shiv temple, where you could see the Himalayas, was amazing.

During a 15-day stay, half of the cost covers classes and meals, while the other half is for accommodation. At this price (600 euros/month), you will have a shared room with a bathroom. The bathroom is very dirty (even if it may seem clean for India), the sheets and towels are all very stained, and the blankets and pillows really smell bad. Plastic bags litter the garden beds along with forgotten old laundry. I won’t dwell on the dishwashing area, which was frankly disgusting and repulsive (dishes drained in old juice), and the osmosis water filter was yellow (definitely do not drink the water!). In short, for a price close to European rates, you will have a dump … otherwise, you can find accommodation of the same quality for three times less expensive nearby … if you still plan on staying there, don’t forget your bath towel and a pillow if you have room! Quality education, very interesting classes.

I am grateful and lucky to have met the teachers who are so passionate about their work. They shared their knowledge. I am thankful to the kitchen staff for making me fall in love with Indian cuisine, to those who organized and joined us on outdoor excursions every Sunday, and to everyone who took care of us, whether I met them or not. Namaste, I’m Crina from Romania!

Let’s improve communication with all students by updating the FB page to give notice. It’s a small change that will make a big difference. I really enjoyed everything else about it.

The course ended, and the students attending formed a strong bond of love. The teachers showed their love and commitment, and the magic of Laxman Juhla worked its charm. The people living there welcomed us with warm and heartfelt smiles. I would go back without hesitation, but the world is a big place. If you’re unsure about booking this course, don’t be – it will be worth it! Thank you for everything!

When I arrived, the driver took me to another place without notice. I really enjoyed the classes, the people, the food. The ambiance was very nice 🙂

I really didn’t like the living conditions of the staff. They really need to be changed. They should pay them way better (considering the price we pay to go there) and give them rooms with fewer people and air conditioning. The energy of the people you meet in a yoga retreat is absolutely beautiful. I learned a lot from all my classmates and we were constantly exchanging questions and positive energy. I changed both physically and mentally, becoming much more flexible and learning to live in the present, which I love.

India is not the cleanest or most organized country, but if you have a good attitude, you will enjoy it a lot. To be honest, it all depends on you. It’s an entire experience that I absolutely recommend. Thank you very much for this experience.

When the rooms are delivered, several people complain that there are no bed linens or towels. The rooms look like the pictures but they are not very clean. You ask the staff about it and they are very nice, but everything is very dirty and well-used. Everyone has to buy their own toilet paper. When you try to wash your clothes, it takes forever for them to dry because there is nowhere to hang them and it’s really uncomfortable to have all that clutter in the room. If they fixed those details, the stay would be wonderful. The teachers are really good, and it’s nice to meet classmates from all over the world. The school’s location is great. The entire staff at the school is very friendly overall.

The teachers at the Work Peace Yoga School are very knowledgable and open to any questions or doubts you may have. The food is always delicious and ready for you to eat, and the chef is willing to better fit your needs as he is very kind. The rooms are large with a good working fan and the option to add air conditioning. The staff is always willing to help you, answer questions, and provide the best experience. The views from common areas are absolutely breath taking and worth seeing. I had an amazing journey and grew so much as a person. I came out with so much more knowledge and wisdom than expected and felt so blessed to be a part of the Work Peace Yoga School family.

However, many students experienced diarrhea during their stay, unsure if it was due to the adjustment to India or a general issue with the food. The teachers teach enthusiastically and embody a yogi lifestyle and mindset. They foster an environment that encourages the exchange of thoughts among students. I have learned a lot about myself and life here. Additionally, they go beyond the official 200-hour requirement, teaching us about Ayurveda (which I love!), yoga therapy (which is part of the 300-hour course), and more.

The electricity kept going out. I was able to deal with that.

We went without water for days. It was tough to get through, but I managed.

I slipped and fell on the stairs because there were no railings. I told the staff about it after a nasty fall, and they just laughed and blamed the language barrier for their lack of understanding. That’s just not acceptable.

The lack of cleanliness in the kitchen made everyone sick. Unforgivable.

The rooms and bathrooms were dirty. Inexcusable.

There was no organization for the Sunday excursion, but I guess that’s just how things are in India.

I could go on, but I’d rather not think about that experience again. The only positive thing to come out of it was the teachers.

I had to adjust to walking on the Laxman Juhla bridge with scooters, monkeys, cows, and people rushing by on the first day. But it’s all part of the experience, and now that I’m back, I miss it all! Once I got used to the chaos of the streets, I found the magic of Rishikesh. The power of the river Ganga is palpable on the beaches, its sound and energy making it easy to see why it’s considered divine. In the evening, the mountains surround Rishikesh like black clouds against the grey sky, echoing the prayers from the ashrams. The people here are amazing, not focused on money, but welcoming and spiritual. The yoga teachers are fantastic, well-prepared and able to guide you through postures professionally. I’m definitely coming back.
