August 9, 2023 at 12:00 amNegative point for the room: There is no bathroom door in a shared room, which is a bit shocking; there is a lot of noise at night between the parties in the hotel, which is not owned by the Yoga retreat but shared by Russians, and there are rats in the walls; there are no shutters, so the room is not dark at night. I did not appreciate the lunch and dinner… only saucy dishes, not necessarily coherence between all the dishes at the buffet. Overall, it was a very nice human experience. The teachers are passionate. The breakfasts are very good.

December 19, 2022 at 12:00 amJust a heads up, real life isn’t always as pretty as Instagram pictures. The House of Om team and participants know how to find the right angle for their photos.
I have to admit, big days like the opening ceremony, beach day, and graduation seemed pretty fake to me, like they were mainly for Instagram.
Now, let’s talk about the location. Amertham has definitely seen better days and it’s a very basic resort. Don’t expect any yoga decorations or cozy chill areas to hang out. And forget about sun beds around the pool… they don’t exist. The public toilets aren’t really clean either, and the pool was out of order for most of our stay. Oh, and because it’s in the jungle, be prepared to encounter mosquitos, geckos, cockroaches, and even rats.
A lot of the teachers, including the founder, weren’t very sensitive when discussing sensitive topics like nutrition, trauma, parenthood, and psychological diseases. This triggered several participants who were affected by those topics. And sometimes, there wasn’t even a solid foundation to back up their claims.
I was expecting the yoga teacher training to have more Asana classes and be more active. But instead, we spent a lot of time sitting during theory classes and didn’t move as much as I thought we would.
To be honest, I feel like this YTT is quite expensive considering all the issues I mentioned earlier. On top of that, it’s located in the middle of nowhere, they provide cheap shampoo, there are no pool towels, the bed sheets had stains, the bathroom wasn’t really clean, they didn’t provide sweat and cleaning towels for yoga class, the yoga mats were subpar, and they don’t even include laundry services.
The yoga shala had an uneven floor and very limited equipment, not to mention it was too cramped for 27 people. On the plus side, it’s really beginner-friendly, but probably not challenging enough for advanced yogis.
The teachers, both from Indonesia and international, were amazing, especially Unieng and Thofun for Asana in my batch. And if you love the jungle, then you’ll enjoy being in the middle of it.
I have to give credit to the delicious food and the lovely kitchen staff.
I had a single room, which was okay. But those who stayed in shared rooms had some serious complaints, like mold and rats.
On the bright side, you’ll definitely meet incredible people from all over the world with diverse professional backgrounds. Plus, your asana skills will definitely improve.
One good thing about this YTT is that they only have one batch at a time in Amertham, so you really get the chance to connect with your group.
And from day one, you’ll be learning how to teach yoga and by the end, you’ll actually teach a full hour on your own.
To sum it up, if you take the time to read reviews, you’ll get a good idea of what you can (or can’t) expect from this YTT.

October 16, 2022 at 12:00 amThere was a lot of miscommunication about the group size, the organization of classes, and activities. Things kept changing at the last minute. The kitchen staff didn’t know about my dietary requirements, and it took a whole week to sort it out. The classes sometimes made some wrong points about acoustics, language, and the brain, which made it hard for me to trust the learning process. This was tough for me because those subjects are my specialty as an academic. The schedule was a bit too packed, in my opinion. It would have been nice to have an hour a day for personal contemplation and journaling.
But on the bright side, I loved the Mansion and the shalas. It was truly a blessing to be surrounded by such beautiful surroundings every day. The teachers were amazing, and I learned so much from them. I especially liked learning dynamic and active meditation, which I hadn’t tried before. The kitchen staff were great and very accommodating. The spare time activities were also enjoyable. I was able to deepen my yoga practice and gained more confidence in potentially teaching in the future, even if it’s not right away. All in all, I made a good choice and found exactly what I was looking for at the House of Om.

September 21, 2022 at 12:00 amI absolutely adored the teachers – they were so passionate and inspiring! even though I was a beginner, they made sure I felt safe and supported. The resort itself, along with the staff and food, was simply amazing. Surrounded by nature and two rivers (not to mention a stunning waterfall), the place felt truly magical. The whole experience was like stepping into a whole new world.

July 31, 2022 at 12:00 amThe people in the organization didn’t seem to care so much… and they didn’t act as they claim they do. I found them a bit fake and pretentious. But hey, the teachers were amazing! We learned a lot from them.

March 28, 2020 at 12:00 amWe had a tough time figuring out how to co-live with my roommates, but we managed to change the room. Other than that, everything was amazing. Before I got there, there was no option to select all teachers. So, I want to give a big thanks to Neetu and all the teachers for their skills and experience, they really shaped us! I also want to express my gratitude to the supporting team who answered our emails and fixed everything for us from the moment we contacted them until we safely returned home.
This retreat is a unique experience, but it’s important to understand that it’s an intense program designed to make you a good teacher. The only thing you need to bring is your positivity. There were moments when I felt tired, complained, or didn’t have the right mood, but those were very minor compared to the incredible community and family we became. We felt secure and satisfied with what we learned every single day. I can honestly say that I never had any complaints. The only challenge people faced was the intensity of the program, but it’s their responsibility to understand that from the beginning. It’s not a holiday retreat! It’s challenging, but very rewarding if you have the right attitude. In the end, you realize how much you needed all those hours of learning and practicing. So, I strongly recommend this training, the House of OM, and the Yoga Amertham resort. If you have any questions as future students, feel free to contact me at bohatova.miroslava@gmail.com.
Namaste.

March 10, 2020 at 12:00 amThe only part that disheartened me in the HOM experience was when some students didn’t respect the journey of others or their own inner journey. They talked and played on social media during “silent” hours. But hey, that was their path, not mine.
The biggest lesson I learned was that we were all on different journeys for different reasons. And I feel fortunate to have been surrounded by 51 other students who became like a bigger family in the end. It’s all about how you choose to look at it. You have a choice, and if you choose to be positive, you’ll attract positivity.
When you decide to embark on a journey like this, make sure you’re “Ready”. How do you know you’re ready? When you’re willing to accept the good and the bad, have an open mind, and stay positive no matter what comes your way.
I registered for the course when my mind was fully open and ready to receive. Nothing was going to stop me or make this a negative experience (not even a worldwide virus). When I arrived, they informed me about a room change, no big deal. They quickly made it happen, knowing all I wanted was a shower. The resort staff was amazing, always ready to fix things and make us comfortable. Even when I fell ill, the chefs personally delivered food to my room, and the HOM staff checked on me all day.
As for the course and teachers, there aren’t enough positive words to express my gratitude and amazement at their ability to handle such a large group and remain composed, even when some students chose to talk or nap during lectures and disrespect them. The program was intense, with long days, but what you take away from it is worth every minute if you stay focused and follow their guidance. The content exceeded my expectations, and all of our teachers were incredibly knowledgeable and talented. They took the time to answer our questions, explain poses, and share valuable insights. Thank you so much! ?

March 2, 2020 at 12:00 am“There’s no such thing! I would repeat it again if I could 🙂 I loved literally everything about the YTT organized by HOM!
The location was astonishing! The resort was situated right in the middle of the jungle, close to a river and a small waterfall. It had such a beautiful and clean atmosphere, with a large pool and a huge dining area. There were also plenty of study spots for when exams were approaching. The hotel staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The place was so peaceful and quiet, making it perfect for an intimate inner journey.
Now let’s talk about the food. We were treated to three delicious vegetarian meals every day, along with unlimited water, tea, and coffee. The food was so yummy that sometimes I couldn’t resist and ended up eating way too much. The kitchen staff was incredibly kind and lovable, celebrating everyone’s birthdays with beautiful birthday cakes. I even felt a tinge of jealousy that my birthday didn’t fall during my time there.
I absolutely adored our teachers – Peewee, Rohil, Ewelina, and Arlene. They were not just knowledgeable and experienced, but also kind, humble, and authentic. I treasured every minute spent with them and everything I learned from their teachings. They truly exemplified what a yoga teacher should be like.
As for the course itself, we had four hours of asana practice every day, which was challenging but also incredibly rewarding. It allowed me to deepen my yoga practice like never before. We also had interesting theory classes on topics like yoga history and philosophy, teaching methodology, and adjustments. It shed a whole new light on my understanding of yoga. And let’s not forget about the meditation, pranayama, and mantras – I loved every bit of it!”

March 2, 2020 at 12:00 amI found that the structuring of the course made my notes jump around from topic to topic. This made revision more difficult, but I think it was done to keep things interesting. Surprisingly, I have retained a lot of information and I am grateful for the engaging content and the teaching style that was direct and to the point. I absolutely loved the high quality of teaching, the vast amount of knowledge shared, and the passion of the teachers. They covered a wide range of topics including philosophy, anatomy, asana, pranayama, personal development, and meditation. There was also a strong focus on the spiritual aspect of yoga. I originally thought the term “transformational” was a bit exaggerated, but now I believe this course truly exceeds expectations. The facilities were top-notch and the food was amazing. The support staff were always helpful and they did a great job managing a diverse group of students from different countries. The connections and friendships formed during the course were a pleasant surprise. The heart-centered approach of the course has sparked my curiosity to learn more and has opened my heart to love more. I highly recommend this course and I’m extremely happy that I decided to book it.

February 27, 2020 at 12:00 amI was really disappointed with the number of students in this program. When I booked the school, it said there would be 25 students per program, but I was surprised and upset when they told us there were actually 53 students (the site was updated during the program). Honestly, they were not prepared for such a large group in many ways. There were too many people talking about irrelevant things, too many students for the teachers to properly handle during the classes, and too many students to cover all the yoga content.
Helpful ReviewSome of the rooms didn’t even have beds, people had to sleep on mattresses on the floor. The toilets near the shala and temple were unfinished. This should have been a priority to make people feel comfortable. And to make matters worse, there were only two teachers to cover all the topics: anatomy, philosophy, history, etc. One of the teachers was overwhelmed because she was also doing private healing sessions with some of the students. Unfortunately, she offered the service but ended up leaving many students without it. I’m not sure if it was a good idea to offer something and not follow through.
Some of the students also didn’t take the 200 hours attendance requirement seriously. This was unfair to the rest of us who were committed to the program.
There were also some things that were promised on the program but were forgotten. We only had one day off for an excursion. Maybe it would be better to have fewer students for better quality classes. Additionally, the photographer forgot about the booking sessions with some people. Again, why offer something if you can’t deliver?
Despite these issues, I did have a really great time at the school. The classes were enjoyable, especially the Yoga philosophy. The workshops with Rohill were amazing, and he was always patient with such a large group of students. The moments of silence were my favorite, a good time to be with myself and rejuvenate the mind and soul.
The location was fantastic! So peaceful and energizing. We were lucky to be in the middle of the jungle, learning about the yoga lifestyle.
The ladies in the kitchen were fantastic and kind. They always tried their best to make people happy with the food, even preparing birthday cakes for everyone.
The transfer from the airport to the school was well organized, and it made me feel secure.
The days off were a nice opportunity to explore Ubud, but it was even better to come back to the school and relax.
The teachers were experienced and shared a lot of knowledge with us.
It was a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and make some good friends.
I learned so many things in such a short period of time. It was nice to be present and share experiences!

February 24, 2020 at 12:00 amI wasn’t a fan of the fact that there were 52 people in our group. That’s just way too many people. The maximum should have been 30. Everything else was great though – the people were nice, the facility, staff, teachers, food, and classes were all fantastic. But the truth is, with that many people, it was impossible to receive enough personal attention, no matter how hard the teachers tried or how awesome they were. So overall, I really enjoyed the course because it had great quality.

February 22, 2020 at 12:00 amThey changed our course from 25 days to 23 days last minute. I’m not sure why, but it feels like we lost some rest time from our schedule.
If we had one more rest day and shorter training days (ours were 14 hours long), we would have been less exhausted and had more time to practice and study on our own.
The class had a large number of students (36 people). It didn’t bother me, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time.
The laundry service was a bit problematic. Some people lost a few clothing items and it took a while to get our clothes back. I suggest doing your own laundry or being careful with what you send for cleaning. Use this laundry service cautiously.
The whole experience was transformative, more than just a yoga training. We had plenty of time to work on ourselves and deal with personal trauma.
Peewee is an amazing teacher, very knowledgeable and well-rounded. She’s a fantastic woman overall. Rohil is also great, and I really enjoyed his yoga philosophy class.
The facilities, including the pool, yoga shala, rooms, and common areas, are all beautiful.
The morning meditation and silent practice were incredibly peaceful.
The training program covers a wide range of topics, but it can be quite intense.
The teachers were flexible and made sure to check in on us regularly. For example, after several days of intense ashtanga and hatha classes, they included restorative classes when we needed more rest.
The food provided was absolutely amazing and gave us the energy we needed. The chefs were kind enough to prepare separate gluten-free dishes and bread for those of us who needed it. And their smoothie bowls were the best!
The support staff, especially Ami and Lila, were incredibly helpful and pleasant. When I got a cold, Ami personally went out to buy me cold medication and throat lozenges.
The location was convenient, only a 30-minute drive from Ubud. There were also convenience stores within a 10-minute walk, and the area was quiet and not crowded with tourists.

January 28, 2020 at 12:00 amThe food was good, but it could have been more versatile. And maybe cake could be served only occasionally, not every day..!
The water pressure was very low – it doesn’t accommodate so many people.
I thought there would only be 25 people in our course, but we ended up being almost 40… That wasn’t too much of a problem since we split into two groups for lessons, but it’s impossible to get to know so many people with such a tight schedule. It’s even difficult to get to know a few people when the person sitting next to you is always someone new. Our teachers were amazing: they were both passionate about teaching, knowledgeable, and inspiring. I couldn’t have asked for better teachers! I hope to take their courses again someday.
The schedule was intense, but it helped us stay focused. I liked that we started our days at 6am every morning without exception. The program was well-planned and covered everything from yoga practice to philosophy and anatomy. Of course, there is still a lot to learn after this course, but we got the basics and know where to go next.
Additionally, we had chanting, dancing, and excellent meditation sessions. I’m new to all this, and it really opened my mind to new things.
The teaching methodology lessons, along with everything else we learned, gave us the tools to build and teach a proper yoga class. We practiced teaching for a few days before our final exam. It was nice to gain some confidence before performing for evaluation.
The facilities are good, and the staff is kind and friendly. There are many options for your two days off during the course. The food is good, especially the breakfast.
I really enjoyed the course! It was fantastic to meet people from all over the world who share the same interests and have new and exciting experiences with them.

June 29, 2019 at 12:00 amI really have nothing to complain about, just a few minor things that could be improved. But overall, I deeply admire their integrity, including our teachers, despite the mistakes we all make. I absolutely loved it and it was a life-changing experience. Those guys really touched my soul and my heart.
They took really good care of us during the retreat. Even the food was good, it just got a bit repetitive, but they are working on making it better.
The location is great, although it’s not in the center of Ubud. But you can easily find everything you need nearby. This time was truly amazing and we learned so much about yoga, spirituality, and our own lives.
Wissam, the organizer, arranged additional workshops in the evenings. Unfortunately, it was sometimes a bit chaotic, but that wasn’t his fault. Sometimes external teachers would confirm their availability on the same day in the afternoon. Wissam taught us a lot about life and life coaching. He has such a loving soul and brought a beautiful energy to the retreat.
Peewee was an exceptional yoga teacher. We learned so much from her about functional anatomy, alignment, and doing asanas and stretches without getting injured. She and Wissam led the best meditations. I will never forget the Shakra meditations and the insights I gained about my own life.
Manish was our philosophy teacher. Sometimes he could be stubborn about certain philosophical ideas, but his knowledge was immense. However, he always encouraged us to question and doubt things if they didn’t resonate with us. Having doubts is a good thing. Yogic philosophy is ancient and although there may be some aspects that have been proven wrong, it still holds truths that exceed European philosophy from the 1700-1800s.
After returning home, I spoke with some friends who are also yoga teachers. They were in awe of the amazing training I received. They wished they had the same opportunity to learn, feel, and experience what I did. It was truly outstanding and unforgettable. I would definitely do it again.
