The training takes place six days a week for three weeks. You’ll wake up early and experience the peacefulness of the island. This will help you start your day with meditation and connect with nature and yourself before the rush. A yoga teacher training is more than just a course to learn a new skill. It’s a transformative period of self-reflection, growth, and healing. It can be challenging, especially for beginners or those seeking personal development. With small class sizes of only 10-18 students, Sunny’s teacher training creates a supportive and intimate environment. It’s a safe space to learn, share, push boundaries, and form lasting connections with classmates.
This 200-hour yoga teacher training on Koh Phangan covers all the necessary techniques and skills to start sharing your knowledge of yoga. Experienced teachers will lead practices such as asana, pranayama, meditation, and chanting mantras.
Explore the therapeutic benefits of asanas and pranayama, as well as precautions and contraindications. Gain knowledge of the seven systems of the body, including chakra anatomy.
Get introduced to the yogic lifestyle in modern times, the historical evolution of yoga, different paths of yoga, and the teachings of Patanjali Yoga Sutras.
In the third week of the training, you will have the opportunity to lead two 60-minute classes.
Learn about yoga marketing, the business and career aspects of being a yoga teacher, communication skills, safety standards, and how to plan your sessions.
This includes practicing and teaching various traditional yoga techniques such as asanas, pranayama, kriyas, chanting, mantra, and meditation.
Learn the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting, and correcting, as well as different teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, and the process of student learning. Additionally, gain insights into the business aspect of teaching yoga.
Understand human anatomy and the physiology of bodily systems, organs, etc. Gain knowledge of the pranic body, including chakras, nadis, and bandhas. Apply this knowledge to yoga practice by understanding benefits, contraindications, and healthy movement patterns.
Study the Yoga Sutras, explore the historical evolution of yoga, learn about the four paths of yoga and various techniques for self-realization, discover the yogic lifestyle in modern society, and gain insight into the ethics for yoga teachers.
Engage in practice teaching, receive feedback, observe others teaching, and provide constructive feedback.
While Sunny’s training challenges you physically and mentally, she also incorporates fun extracurricular activities like visits to Thai cultural places/events, nature sights, dancing, and ecstatic dance. After the training, you’ll have the opportunity to learn Thai massage from a master.
The first day of the training is for your arrival and check-in. The opening ceremony takes place at 5:00 pm. Sundays are your day off! The last day of the training is your checkout day, with a checkout time of 10:00 am. There will also be a silent morning from 06:30 to 09:00 am.
You will receive the training at Sati Yoga, which is located in the charming Srithanu village of Koh Phangan.

March 1, 2023 at 12:00 amIn my opinion, the one thing to complain about is the noise from the busy Thongsala main road. At first, it really bothered me because I was hoping for a peaceful and tranquil location for my daily training. But eventually, I got used to it. Ultimately, it’s all about how we perceive the noise without being judgmental.
Attending this yoga TTC and training with Sunny was the best decision ever. I absolutely love everything it offers, from the organized course structure to the number of students and the daily asana practice that starts off gentle and ramps up to intense. I also adore all the teachers who bring their expertise in different aspects of yoga, which has expanded my knowledge about yoga beyond just asana practice.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned so much about myself, my relationship with yoga, and my connection with the other 10 individuals attending the training. Learning to teach yoga has been an incredibly beautiful experience that goes beyond yoga itself. It allows me to deepen my knowledge while also spreading positive energy and a life-affirming attitude to others.

June 27, 2020 at 12:00 amI found the course a bit challenging because it was split between online and in-person. There were times when I couldn’t hear what was being said, even though the instructors did a great job managing both formats. It didn’t feel very connected to me from the online perspective. But when we did the online presentations and had everyone’s full attention, I could really feel the difference.
Helpful ReviewStill, I’m thankful for the opportunity to take the course online and I’m excited for more workshops and retreats in the future! The content of the course was fantastic. We learned, practiced, and worked on self-healing, and then we were given the chance to teach with guidance.
The most important moment for me was during my presentation. I was so nervous and anxious, but Nishan helped me clear those negative emotions. After that, I felt incredibly present and calm. That moment, that feeling, was exactly what I needed for my personal journey of inner healing. It’s a beautiful gift to have found my voice, and words can’t express how grateful I am.

June 18, 2020 at 12:00 amAt the beginning, it was really tough to understand due to the poor technology – bad microphones. However, we gradually improved it over time by enhancing our meditation exercises and engaging in mutual trial and error sessions.

March 30, 2020 at 12:00 amI had no complaints at all. The accommodation promptly addressed any minor requests I had. It was such a fun experience – we were laughing all the time, even though the new information was quite intense! The course structure was great. Each lecture provided answers to my questions from the previous day and had a link to the practical classes. Doing around 4 hours of yoga per day made my body really tired, but Sunny took care of that by scheduling restorative classes at the right time. The quality of the classes was perfect – they presented new challenges and asanas I had never been able to do before, while also providing a clear and easy-to-follow format for learning and going over the basics. I still remember Sunny’s instructions when I practice! And on the last day, there was a mind-blowing surprise practice – it was such a trip! The different teachers had unique personalities and teaching styles, which gave me a lot to learn from in terms of creating my own style. They were all very personable and open about their experiences, and understood that our individual journeys could sometimes get emotional, so we received a lot of support. The setting was also beautiful, surrounded by trees and with fresh-cut fruit provided every day. Plus, it was super close to Zen beach, and everything we needed was within walking distance.
