November 30, 2023 at 12:00 amDewi is an amazing yoga, meditation, and sound healing facilitator. She is so calm, friendly, and accommodating to my ability levels. The Breathwork and ice bath were completely new to me but they proved to be very healing.

October 9, 2023 at 12:00 amI thought it was quite expensive, but the attentive treatment made it worth it. Maybe I just have a backpacker’s mentality. The room looked beautiful, but the walls were so thin that you could hear everything happening next door and below. However, I absolutely loved this retreat! It exceeded my expectations. The yoga classes were perfect, providing just the right amount of challenge. The sound healing and breath work were essential for the healing aspect of the retreat. I truly appreciated everything and I’m incredibly happy that I got to experience this!

October 4, 2023 at 12:00 amI have no complaints! Everything was absolutely awesome and totally exceeded my expectations. My schedule worked out perfectly, and there were plenty of food options and meals to choose from. I felt like royalty even though I was traveling solo. The location, surrounded by picturesque rice paddies, was incredibly beautiful and peaceful.

September 26, 2023 at 12:00 amI’m disappointed and sad about this retreat that I had high expectations for. The communication is poor and the program doesn’t match the package and schedule that was originally planned. It’s not my first time in Bali, so I don’t understand why the retreat only lasts less than a day and a half instead of the advertised 3 days on the website.
On top of that, there were issues with the room not matching the photo and it being near a noisy construction site. There was also a bad smell and humidity in the room. I had to pay for my own lunch on the first day and all the small drinks throughout the day.
The 7am classes are supposed to be free for hotel guests, but the last class wasn’t even taught by a retreat instructor. The breathwork and ice bath took place in my room, which surprised me. Not all of the yoga classes were held in the yoga shala.
The schedule was too packed for one day and there was hardly anything scheduled on the arrival and departure days.
This retreat is not for solo travelers, as it takes place in a romantic hotel filled with couples and all the classes are private, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand.
Lastly, the retreat is very expensive for only one day of activities. I was disappointed to not receive any response to my message expressing my concerns.
I think this retreat could have been great if the correct information was communicated. I loved the class with Dewie, as well as the breathwork and ice bath. I think those activities were even incredible.
The hotel is nice, despite the major humidity problem and construction nearby. The food was good and the hotel staff were lovely.

July 27, 2023 at 12:00 amIf you’re seeking a proper wellness/spiritual retreat, this retreat is not the one for you. The photos don’t match the actual hotel and the activities are not managed by Shakti, despite what they claim. It was a complete nightmare trying to organize everything between the hotel and the teachers, and the lack of clear instructions caused constant disorganization and frustration. The hotel was also unaware of the booking and the retreat itself. The yoga class didn’t even take place in a proper yoga studio but in the hotel’s general areas. Lila, the owner of Shakti, showed no leadership skills in handling the issues and left it all to the teachers. She never reached out to apologize or offer a solution. In terms of quality and value for money, the retreat is highly overrated. However, the only positive aspects were related to the hotel itself, including the beautiful location, friendly people, and delicious food.

July 20, 2023 at 12:00 amThe Wakanda is definitely not suitable for a yoga retreat. They have placed the yoga room right next to the bustling restaurant bar, so while you’re trying to find your inner peace, all you can hear is the loud music and customers chattering and laughing. It’s frustrating because the hotel’s clientele doesn’t seem to care or respect the yoga and meditation classes at all.
To make matters worse, the restaurant food is the most tasteless you’ll find in Bali. It’s such a disappointment.
Although the room itself is spacious and nice, it has this terrible smell, like an old wet sock mixed with humidity and drain. And surprisingly, the spa has the same unpleasant odor.
Ironically, I got stuck with the noisiest room in the whole hotel, right in front of the restaurant bar. It was a nightmare.
However, if you’re solely focused on finding quality yoga classes in a beautiful location, then maybe consider going there. Lila, the yoga instructor, is absolutely fantastic. She radiates positive energy and is truly one of the best, if not the best, instructors I have ever had.
I also had an awesome experience with the breathwork and icebath session.
The yoga room itself is stunning, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and offering a breathtaking view.
The spa offers excellent massages too, and the atmosphere is really pleasant.

July 18, 2023 at 12:00 amI had an amazing time at Shakti Wellness. The instructors were so friendly and really made an effort to get to know all of us and figure out how they could support us on our personal journeys. The sessions were just the right mix of relaxed and challenging, and I can’t wait to come back again someday.

August 23, 2022 at 12:00 amI found the food a little disappointing. In my opinion, the services we received were a bit pricey. However, the overall ambience was very serene and I found all the facilities to be good. The staff were also friendly.

August 18, 2022 at 12:00 amThere’s no dedicated yoga space here. It’s more like a hotel that offers services rather than a yoga retreat, so expect families and other travelers who might not be in a very Zen state of mind during your stay. People come and go at different times to accommodate various schedules. The yoga classes mostly take place on a cramped balcony, with the only entrance being through your private room. The pictures in the listing can be deceiving. There’s no fridge in the room. However, the breathe workshop was absolutely amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the teachers were lovely. The massages and zen walk were also delightful.

July 18, 2022 at 12:00 amI wasn’t disappointed at all 🙂 Unfortunately, they cancelled my candlelight meditation, but it didn’t feel like I missed out on anything.
The location was wonderful and peaceful, away from the center of Ubud. The hotel is new and up and coming, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, well balanced, and really tasty. The yoga practice and teaching were very good. And let me tell you, I had one of the best massages ever! I had a very interesting and unforgettable experience with Breathwork and Ice Bath. I truly felt a connection with Lila and Vena. Actually, all the teachers were really great ?
